Dear Master Cecil: I have been having similar concerns. Depending on the center point of the house, the reading of the house direction can be different. In accordance with what I have read so far, the center of the house can be: 1. The point at which the weight of the whole house balances. This method usually applies to houses with irregular shape. 2. The crossing point of the two diagonal lines. This method usually applies to houses with square or rectangular shapes. 3. The central passage way through which the residents of the house walk to all the rooms of the house. This passage way is where Qi congregates and demanders. I have a house with rectangular shape. Because …

Dear Master: In your book series, you mentioned that the main door can not face another main door. My main door exactly face my neighbour's main door, is it bad? How can I cure this? Besides, my home's site is higher than the neighbour's home site. Thanks a lot for your advice. Michelle

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My friends & my aunt have a same Feng Shui problem in their house. Which is a bedroom's door facing another door opposite. Under feng shui, when two doors faces it each other, there will be a higher tendency for the people staying in the house or room to have more quarrels/conflicts. Anonymous wrote: I heard that when 2 doors facing each other, the person who is sleeping in the 2 bedrooms will have a lack of communication or will have quarrels. Is that true? This is especially so of the doors are very close to one and another. In most homes, this is quite common now-a-days due to the small availablility of space. However, if it is a pro…

Dear Dinesh, What you had mentioned seems OK. Often for screens, it is important that it is placed parallel to your door as opposed to placing it 90 degrees "cutting into it". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Unfortunately, Eight House analysis helps define suitability issues. It is very difficult to correct a suitability issue. I mean if a house facing does not fit you, the only way you can correct it is to move out to another house which fits you or make correcting to the location of the door. So in such situations, you do not really have much choice of correcting this one flaw. That is why it is important that when you first obtain the house, these issues should be checked first. Issues like flying star problems can be corrected, but not suitability of the house to you. 2. However, you do not need to worryso much as Spook or Irritation are not as bad as Dea…

Dear Anon, This depends really on how far apart are the two doors. If quite a distance still acceptable. If too close, the reason behind it is that conflicts will tend to arise. It sounds to me like it is a house on the opposite side of the road? Then not an issue. You could always have like some plants or fence that help to block the direct view of the door to door. But like mentioned, if it is a distance away not really an issue. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

We are temporarily living in a house with front door facing East.I have used your site with Dateand time of birth and have determined the main breadwinneris a West House person. When I did the "find center of house", it shows the new East door at the DEATH location and sleeping in the IRRITATION SW. What can I do to improve this and protect us? Any cures? Thank you for your helpful direction.

Since you have already consulted your Feng Shui consultant, it is best to follow their advise given that your question is very general.

Dear At Lee, At Lee wrote: We have a very small bedroom. The bedroom door opens to the inside but due to the fact that the room is so small, the bed obstructs the opening. Probably,a sliding door alternatively would be much betterif there is space is a constraint. Also, take n…

Dear Wong Jin, Wong Jin wrote: The door of two bedrooms are facing each other. Wong Jin wrote: What is the pro and cons? In feng shui, if you have such a situation, it is often considered that the people staying in the room may have quarrel more as they may not be able to see eye to eye. The door opens toward the inside. There is a load bearing wall on the left as you enter and open room to the right. Door swings toward the open area Carrie

Hi Master, We are collecting keys on Friday 17-Dec-2021 but looking at the dates it is unsuitable for my husband and I to open door on that day. However, we have a tight timeline for renovation and my ID will like to drop by on the same day for site measurements. Is it ok for us to let him open the door and enter for the work to be done? Also, could you advice if its better for us to do the ceremony on 18/19 Dec? Husband date of birth: [xx-xx19xx] Wife date of birth: [xx-xx-19xx] Thank you! Hi, I'm new here, hope someone can help to answer some questions i have regarding the layout of my new home. 1. Is it ok to have a tall cabinet right outside a room door? Facing room door directly. 2. Is it ok that the dining table is facing an alley? 3. Is it ok for the master room to be odd shaped? Any help would be appreciated, thanks! Just some other info, in the original plan, the master bedroom door is directly facing the toilet door. The plan attached is to avoid this problem. But is it a definite no for room door to face toilet? Or is there any other way to circumvent this? Thanks!!

Dear Elena, 1.Depending on the tilt, it may or may not affect the Flying Star of the house. Especially if it is a slight tilt. (When we measure the compass direction of the mid-point of the door from the centre of the house.) And if it is still within the 15 degree range of that sector. 2. The Flying Star is on the birth chart of the house and it does not take into consideration the personal best directions of a person. Usually, it should instead be `govern' by the Eight House Theory where, tilting the door (as you have mentioned) to the advantage of the breadwinner. Here, there are a few major considerations: 1. Check to see if the new location is not subjected to poison…

Master Robert, Regarding the protruding wall, i found a suggested cure for on the internet. It is by adding struts. I think that the is idea is to make the whole wall looks like a "ba gua" shape. Please advice on this. I have attached a simple pic to illustrate what i mean. Thanks Warmest Regards, Andy

Dear Jocelyn, Maybe, it would be better if I rephase it this way. NW and W are locations with the metal element. Unless one has done further analysis i.e. using the Flying Star to determine that there these sites are favourable. As metal wind chimes may inadvertently increase the `metal' element at these locations and make it inauspicious. For those who do not want to go further and use the Flying Star can if they really like to `experiment' placing e.g. a wind chime if they feel comfortable with it. The above regarding NW and W serves only as a caution where possible find out more if one is using Feng Shui to determine the `suitability ' of using the wind chime at the lo…

Hi Master Robert, thank you for your explanation .. 1.. i'm living on the 16-level 2.. have no balcony, living room windows are from wall-to-wall (3m- wide), thus i think it doesmake sense to refer that as the 'facing' 3.. but beside the living room, is the bedroom 1, then bedroom 2 which both bedrooms also have the same windows facing as the living room and also almost the same width .. do i need to take that into consideration? 4.. possible to re-generate my PAID report? how much would it be to re-generate? if not convenient, kindly email to me .. thanks 5.. if the new facing is 'worst' off than the current report .. should i use the current facing instead?

Dear Sue, Please read below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: Listmanager To: Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 1999 3:42 AM Subject: Main door Normally you should stand in the center of the house out of the main door. However, if you do that sometimes, there is some magnetic field which shifts your compass needle a bit. Which is why, sometimes a reading from the outside is needed to confirm that the compass is not affected by the building structure. However, if you use a shielded compass, then this would not matter. Please check Cecil's compass method. This is quite accurate and easy. This elminates many of the problems of the standing outside. URL: http://www.geomancy…

Dear Wendy, 1. Thank you for bringing up an interesting question. 2. It is also related to complexities of the human beings. Here, our up bringing and `tolerance' comes to play. And as we are aware, each of us vary in this aspect. 3. On a commonsense approach to Feng Shui, if we happen to live in an apartment, it is always preferred to have our main door at a private area. As opposed to facing a neighbours (more from a privacy issue). 4. But, let's say our neighours are the `untidy' sort and leave their shoes scattered around the common enclosed space. Sometimes even end up at our door steps. 5. Some of us may be tolerant, while others may not. Some neighbours are noisy …
