Dear Anon, It me elaborate that the reason some book authors or Feng Shui practioners advise not to place plants or flowers (especially real flowers) that these are considered Yang especially growing plants. Bedrooms normally should be more Yin location. Based on the little information provided, you can either: As for whether it is bad for marriage, in my opinion, this is a question mark. What I mean here is that we have not much information to go on. Usually, for an accurate picture, it should be looked into after considering both partners element and the strength plus what is the Flying Star at the location. This should provide a deeper analysis. All I can say for now i…

Dear Jian Rong, Yes, some Feng Shui practitioner(s) often recommend a mirror at the stove area. One commonsense approach is that this may allow the person cooking to look at his/her "blind spot" or simply: the person who cook can see who's coming into the kitchen. On the other hand, it is the FS practitioner's idea that having a mirror like you had mentioned, below could "double" the food being cooked. Another senario is often to symbollically change the direction of the stove to a direction favourable to direction favourable to the occupants. Quote: jian rong chen wrote: 1) To put a mirror at the kitchen stove. Hang at the wall where the stove is. Yes, it is qui…

In my opinion, often the "fear" is the reverse. Most good bank practises avoid being e.g. directly below an apartment building. In fact, if the bank does have safe boxes; there were instances in the past where the alarms were set off; until it became too much of a false alarm until during the weekend; someone tunnelled from the top floor into the safe vault of the bank branch. Equally possible for a bank with commercial building above. Otherwise, tell me, what is so negative about it? Unless it is a restaurant ... which is worse?

As this is only a general free advice forum, there will be no specific analysis; if so; since you had read the advice, you have to ask whether you believe in it or to play it safe - take extra caution when you may need to travel on those days.

1. These are some considerations:- 2. It is good to understand some guidelines and useful considerations in either determining whether a home changes period. Or if unsure, what are the reasonable steps to determine the Period of a home:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=32760&new= 3. Ideally, if one had bought a new home, but YET to stay in; could consider doing all the renovations be it major or MINOR PRIOR to move in. 4. Thus, it is better that after completion of the sale/purchase of the home. Immediately do the necessary renovations (especially at the center area). 5. Then if possible, move-in or (select a good date to move-i…

Dear Kathy, For the purpose of drawing a Flying Star chart under the Compass School of Feng Shui, your home's facing direction should be considered as North. If the compass direction is exactly as drawn in the attachment, then it should be considered as Flying star chart N2 (352.5 to 7.4 degrees) or this is also a N2 0/360 degree home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Each year, the 7th month under the Lunar Calendar is called the 7th month: 1. This is also called the Hungry Ghost. 2. For this year, it is around 11 August and 9 September. If you have a Calendar with the Lunar dates, you can check out when the 7th month starts and ends. 3. To the Chinese, this is a very inauspcious period especially for: a. Any outdoor activities and includes no renovations. 4. What is the 7th month? In brief, this is based on Chinese `Superstition' or to be more exact, a Chinese Belief. It signifies that ghosts are let out to the world during this period they are allowed to roam around. 5. Many `celebrate' the occasion by giving offerings e.g. buyi…

1. Frankly, the main concern is that of placing an altar with it's back sharing the toilet wall. 2. For example; this applies to both Chinese altars of various gods and even some Catholics who have a small "symbolic" altar. 3. Otherwise, any other concerns has more to do with personal feelings or personal sentiments: in your case a deep concern of placing family photos say on wall mounts. 4. Given the layout plan that you had provided; in-fact, there are many who had placed their dining table next to the toilet wall or sharing the wall -

These are some considerations: 1. One question that is relevant here is : "Can I rewind time or go back to the past to change things?" 2. As at today, it is impossible to go back to the past. 3. Same, thing, here. You can't 4. The concept: The Three-Step-Approach 4.1. This concept of house number belongs to the branch of Feng Shui called : Compass School of Feng Shui. 4.2. This sub-branch is based on Flying Star Feng Shui. But because each different levels are considered to have different qi; it is literally known as VERTICAL Flying Star Feng Shui. 5. It is more useful for someone who is looking at a new development and where the units are just launched. And one can try t…

In such a situation: 1. Where possible, during the process of moving your bed from existing home to new home upstairs; you should if possible not be around at that time; as a well as once the bed has been set; don't move it or adjust it anymore. Here, your husband should be the co-ordinator and decide whether the bed is properly setand not later moved or changed position, whatsoever. 2. Often, if possible, after the bed has been moved upstairs; try if possible not to go into that existing bedroom (anymore). When the new bed / bedroom has been properly set; then you can go in.

Dear Kalvin, The two "cures" are: 1. use of earth elements e.g. pottery or clay objects at the NW sector. Or the use of water (bottles) to reduce the effect. What sort of renovations are you going to do: Major or minor? Generally, minor renovations would not change the period from 7 to 8. Do take take note for this year 2005 (upto before the next lunar 2006, year), it is best to avoid reonvations at: 1. West (Tai Sui or grand duke's location) 2. NW (Deadly Yellow or #5 location)

You wrote: Question 1: How will the feng shui be affected if I enclose the whole area with a security grille like the one in the photo I attached? There are two schools of Feng Shui: 1. Shapes and Forms. From your sketch, via a top-down view or helicopter view; the outline still looks rectangular. 2. Compass School Feng Shui : Flying Star One should still consider the enclosed living quarters when plotting a flying star chart. And often it is easier to focus specifically on the living quarters (excluding the outdoors). But Flying Star chart can be extended and used to look at any features that some may want to add e.g. in the new outdoor area. For example, some are eyei…

1. Frankly, I don't have the information (with regards to full audit type of information). 2. Most likely the number dropping off may be a coincidence (touch-wood). Just monitor the situation.

1. In theory, some Feng Shui practitioners automatically find that anything out of the ordinary is no good. 2. In my opinion, as the slanted ceiling is unlike a concentrated beam, should just leave it as it is. 3. A concentrated beam is no good as there is suppose to be a higher compression below it. While the slanted ceiling is totally flat much like a double decker bed which has a large flat surface. 4. Furthermore a higher ceiling improves air circulation or aids better dispersion of heat more efficiently. 5. For me, I would not be too concerned with it.

This are some considerations: 1. In today's real world, real people, real careers; be prepared to have such things like what you mentioned not purely belonging to just one element but can also most likely represent : especially TWO or (even more) elements. 2. Thus, the old mindset of: sloting an industry into only ONE single element is "history". 3. Especially if one has some knowledge or look at a guide and figure out that this industry may belong to two elements. Does it sound reasonable? If so, you have your answer! 4. Thus in my opinion, to me, also, what you wrote sounds reasonable. 5. The term multi-tasking is common place today. So is the term: multi-skilling: wher…

Dear Ed, Generally, this can still be done especially if you find that this is one of the better or best positions within the bedroom. From a commonsense approach to Feng Shui, so long as one draws the curtain (for privacy) or if one has young children, avoid letting it be opened as children may climb over it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. I believe it also depends on the country we live in. Here, locally (in Singapore) and around the region, plants can strive inside the house. It also depends on the type of plants used. In some locations, I believe that it is difficult for plants to grow or subsequently may die. 2. We tend to use the plants as a cross check on a location. Here, it is used as an `indicator' rather as a clear indication that the location maybe inauspicious. One can use Feng Shui tools like Flying Star to counter-check whether the location is inauspicious or not. 3. For offsite audits especially for those who are facing hardships or financial problems, sometimes, I do ask the …

These are the considerations:- 1. Any of the breadwinner(s) doing your own business? If yes, be careful, this is certainly one down... so there should not be more wealth leaks in the home. 2. If any of the breadwinners are salaried worker(s) - not so bad. Generally, still "manageable" or acceptable. 3. From a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui point of view, so long as a car can (may or maynot) slam into the home from the junction; it is a considered a leak. From one of the pictures.. from outside looking inwards.. it does seem so. Therefore, in Feng Shui, this is one equivalent of a home affected by T junction. 4. From the inside, it looks more comforting as the garden seems…

Hi Mr Cecil My personal office door is directly facing (about 2m away) a toilet door & a storeroom door, since the toilet door & storeroom door is just side by side. My office which is located in the west sector has a window facing west, has double #8 star & #1 star, while the toilet has #7 & #2 bad stars. What should I do to ward off the negative effect of facingthe toilet door &storeroom door? Thanks very much Paul

1. Big Tree - right opposite the main door Stand inside the door and look directly out of it. If the tree is not directly facing any part of the door (within the doorframe) then no issue. Else as mentioned in my earlier posting; can apply the "triangle-effect" i.e. do a search under this forum for it or the other options that I had mentioned. 2. Utility pole From your rough sketch - don't seem to be a threat to the home. 3. Pool Would need to have a proper assessment done based especially on Flying Star Feng Shui. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Sorry I forgot to mention a few things in my previous post about a house near a T section. This is the updated post: We are con…
