Dear Anon, If we strictly consider based on Chinese Astrology, the Rat is considered diagrammatically opposite the Horse. As such they are suppose to be one of the worst pairings in the Chinese Astrology (zodiac) signs. Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net However, phew! 50 years old? Go get a life, and since life at 50 is "really, really short"; why not.. even cannot MUST make it POSSIBLE! We can understand if one is 18 to 30 years. May be head-strong, stubborn or combative. But at 50 years old? Gosh! One should hopefully have mellowed down! And be more understanding! With regards to both the Chinese as well as Western zodiac signs: You see, many of us often read ou…

Dear Samsiah, Usually, to analyse the entire apartment complex then, it would probably have to be the front door (facing the neighbour's front gate). But if you are trying to analyse your apartment, then; for high floors or high storeys 8th storey and above, then it is often the frontage of the apartment or often the living room area or the facing direction where you have the most windows and/or balcony. If your apartment is often 7th storey and below, then often, it should be the main entrance to your unit. As the rest of your question seems more like doing a full audit, sorry this forum is about clarifications or a catalyst to your understanding of how to. Warmest …

Dear Anon, Sorry to learn about it. Try to relax Frankly, it is difficult for me to give you proper advise as there are limited information in-order to do a detailed study to minimize any issues relating to Feng Shui. For example, although the facing direction is provided, things like which period your home belongs to and also other things need to be looked into e.g. layout plan. Traditionally, (not Feng Shui) the Chinese do not like to move furniture around especially any furniture in the bedroom of conception e.g. most likely the master bedroom. Do take care! Cecil Lee

Dear Ann, No. Should concentrate on the MS# with WS#. For example under Period 8, all centre palace has base = #8. But when determing the characteristics of the centre palace, often MS# with WS# are taken into account. Normally, the base = #8 remains "silent". Warmest Regards, Cecil

We are temporarily living in a house with front door facing East.I have used your site with Dateand time of birth and have determined the main breadwinneris a West House person. When I did the "find center of house", it shows the new East door at the DEATH location and sleeping in the IRRITATION SW. What can I do to improve this and protect us? Any cures? Thank you for your helpful direction.

Dear Ann, One has to be extra careful in enhancing a sector with mountain star 9. In your case, you have not mentioned about what are the other two related stars? WS#? and Base (Palace star) #? For example, MS, WS, Base: 9, 6, 3 is often associated with fire at heaven's gate 9, 5, 2 is often associated with sickness : where 9 fire inflames 5 & 2 9, 3, 6 associated with legal issues 9, 7, 9 grave financial loss So, how to activate mountain star in many of such situations! It is very common for all of us who do not consider that there is a leak, bu instead assume that there is "wealth" (wealth sector). Please check the associated flying stars at that sector as m…

Dear Ann J, More importantly, you have to determine what material the beam is made of. If the beam is made of wood, then based on the destructive cycle of the Five Elements concept: metal destroys or neutralises wood and seven represents = metal element (weak metal) and silver represents metal element. Thus, if the beam is made of wood, then SYMBOLICALLY, it is sound to have the 7 "silver stars". Dear Anon, It is worthwhile for you to get professional Feng Shui consultation in your country especially since your huband's health is poor. Frankly, your questions are piecemeal and without relevance to proper Feng Shui diagnostic tools like Flying Star Feng Shui. Thus things like bamboo tree (real or fake) can be a double edged sword. As some sectors may not be suitable for such a cluster of plants. In addition, I do not have a clear picture of the exact size of the new building and whether it "cuts thru" the main door, windows or what is the distance etc... Dear Anon, 1. Yes, it is preferred that the bedroom door is closed. 2. A plant may not be appropriate especially if the staircase is not large but just nice for one or two persons to walk past. 3. You can also try to use the Eight House chart to see if you can plan your bedroom i.e. to orientate your bed-head and work/study to a good facing direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, My element is strong metal and my bedroom is located on the east. I've looked around on the forum and found out that having a bedroom facing the top of the staircase is not favourable. From what I understand, stairs facing theentrance door is unfavourable because itma…

Dear Sir/ Madam, Recently I bought a new house and have only just discovered it has really bad fengshui. For example, my house is a period 7 S2 facing, and the only bedroom is located in the North, which has a period star 3, Moutain Star & Water Star 7, as well being the 3 killings direction this year, and which happens to be my Liu Sha (6 killings) direction. I can't move, as I have spent all my money on this house, and my health is just going from bad to worse. What should I do? Any advice would be much appreciated. Yours Sincerely, Violet

Dear Benjamin, Please refer to the attached sample report. Sample Gender: Male Conversion of Date of Birth: Solar Calendar: 17 Oct 1980 between 1.00 p.m. to 2.59 p.m. Lunar Calendar: 1980, 9th month, 9 day, between 1.00 p.m. to 2.59 p.m. In this example, the arrow shows the direction, he should be facing. Thus his best work directions are: Sitting facing Direction: North-East Exact Degree: 22.5 to 67.4 Description: This is your Prosperity direction or Sitting facing Direction: South-West Exact Degree: 202.5 to 247.4 Description: This is your Excellent direction. Dear Cecil: (Please let me know if it is disrespectful to call you by your first name. I saw someone refer to you in his letter as Feng Shui Master. Would you prefer that?) Thanks again for answering my question, and with that in mind I have another question as to the cure. Since I am not partial to the look of wind chimes in the home,I was wondering if the bell chimes would be as effective? I found a really beautiful onebut I don't wanttowaste my money on something that won't work.My thinking was, if I am to use metal as a cure then it would be my choice. I look forward to hearing form you again. Be well. Lisa

Dear Jace, To be honest, some Chinese who in one way or another if told of their favourable and unfavourable colours would tend to dwell in being more cautious when choosing a vehicle colour. Personally, I do share the same sentiments. And have always tried to choose a car colour that suits me. However, I hope you understand this is honestly more of a "personal-thing" and how much we personally either being "influenced" by it. For weak metal persons, based on the Five elements concept, yes, black = water may not be as suitable as a "metal" element colour or "earth" colours. On a scientific level, (Not Feng Shui); previously, there were some insurance studies that show…

Dear Master Lee, Thanks so much for your advice. I think the perfect sketch would be the one I found in your Free module 2, Chapter 9 on roads, the lower diagram. Basically house is at the top of an inverted U and the road 'slices' through it. What kind of bad luck can this bring? and can anything be done about it? Warmest regards Yen

Dear Vicky, Gua or Kua is based on Ba Chai or Eight House or 4 good / 4 bad directions. Thus although it has an element, it is better to associate your Gua with directions - primarily. vicky conjamalay wrote: hello sir, my kua element is fire and my feng shui element is earth. Could you tell me how these two elements make their effect on me. Waiting for reply. Thanks. I am not sure what you mean by Feng Shui element? Earth? Do you actually mean your Ba Zi element e.g. Strong or weak earth? If you truly mean Ba Zi, then, it is much easier to associate it with the Five elements concept. Thus as mentioned above: Either a person is a Strong Earth or a weak earth pers…

Dear Phyllis, Thanks for proving a sketch of the layout of the bedroom. Although you have stated that the person sleeping here is Gua (Kua)5, there is no indication of a compass marking to show where the North direction is. As such, I have drawn a sample sketch. Thissketch also shows markings A and B. If we sleepin the directionfrom A to B (as shown in the attachment); this is known asa "coffin position" i.e. our legsshould not be facingthe bedroom door. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Phyllis Lee wrote: Please advise a suitable location for the bed given such a layout (attached). Dear Anon, Generally, there are two approaches with regards to placing a water feature: 1. Persional feeling (Most common method) Here, as you have mentioned, most likely, either the location choosen seems to be an appropriate choice or because of the home layout; we most likely find that this is one of the better choice. 2. Applying Flying Star Feng Shui As Flying star Feng Shui uses a "scientific" method of determining where a water feature is useful to be placed. Frankly, not many people may want to go for the second approach. However, without using or applying the second approach, there is no reference to state where we should place the fish tank other than usi…

Dear Lisa, If you have read previous messages, usually, the fastest way to change to a new period is thru a major renovation. However, based on your description of work done, these are mostly cosmetic changes, thus most likely have not changed qi, yet. Currently, there may be some differences in the thinking as to what constitues a change of qi or period if one does not do a major renovation in the home. However, I will try to explain as best as I can some of the more realistic ways that we can help our home change it's qi:- 1. One school of thought is that unlike a landed property that has a roof, thus often, a large number of practitioner would advise to remove roof…

Dear Baerbel, You mentioned that "that long road seems to directly run into the house". Generally, do check especially if the main entrance is vulnerable or any windows that is facing the long road. As most of the time, these two areas need the most protection from "sha qi" coming from the road. In many instances, (subject to a site review) many Chinese homes do try to place a "high" wall along the outline of the perimeter of the home. Often, this is the best option. If a window or main entrance is directly facing the long road, then; you may have to consider a convex ba gua mirror placed above the window or main entrance. This is the most common approach. While foo …

Thus, it is all in the Chinese custom to do so. Warmest Rega…

Dear Anon, To be honest, these are more of Chinese customs or beliefs than Feng Shui. And these customs should be consideredas "Nice-to-do" and not "Must-do". Thus, it would be good to follow the procedures (No harm). But if one cannot follow the procedure for one reason or the other, should not be an issue. Traditionally, it is still more important if good dates can be selected. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Yes, the 2nd floor may affect the Feng Shui (below - ground floor) especially if the "two units" are not "identical in layout". For example, if a home is converted into a "duplex" or the layout of the above unit is not identical to the ground floor. 2. For example, we often find homes like a bungalow where things like the 2nd storey toilet may be just above our ground unit main entrance or sometimes it could be just above one's dining area. And for some Chinese who had placed an altar at the ground level; may also be affected if their altar is just directly below a toilet. 3. Otherwise, often, if both ground unit, 2nd stor…
