Unfortunately, there is very little that feng shui can help in terms of helping with getting a sale/rent of an apartment/office. Or pricing it right or to keep the place clean. In terms of feng shui, you can try to improve some of your l…

Hi. I have three questions about my room: 1. I am thinking of putting a loft bed into my room to save space. My room is on the South-East corner of my house, it has one window facing south and another window facing East. The bed can only go in the south-east corner of the room, where it will be in front of the East facing window. This will cut off some of the light, but as I work nights and sleep days, that is not a bad thing. Are there any Feng Shui rules about Loft beds I should know? 2. Also I have three pet garter snakes I keep in a terrarium in my room. What sort of effect do they have on Feng Shui? I have read articles aboutfish and Feng Shui, but there is little…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: my master bedroom is in south palace of the house and has 1 mountain 3 water and 2 period star, since 1 and 3 combination is good, i am not able to get benefit because of 2 and 3 combination and 3 water star feeds the fire of this sector. Unforunately, everyone like to be able tobenefit from any goodcombination of stars. But often when there is an additional star that breaks the combination, then the priority is to just neturalise the impact of the star 2 so that the remaining stars can still give you the benefit of the combination. So apply metal cure to attempt to balance up the sector especially to neturalise the star 2. Then it can be conv…

I moved into an l shaped loft last year. I wasn't too happy with it, but my partner loved it. The problems for me are pretty severe. My SW (tien yi) is in the bathroom black and white and adjacent toilet (black and white) and adjacent to that my storage laundry room. These are in the L part. Then West (tu wei) is in the handle with the front door (straight wall). The room gets wider a bit after a curve around the outside elevator shaft , 1/4 circle which cuts into a curved wall.It curves wider (but not closing L) into NW (sheng chi) and narrows again cutting out almost all North (ho hai) leaving a narrow curved hall outside my bedroom. All the window are on the East sid…

Dear Georgy, Georgy Ivanov wrote: Is bad to put aguarium in my room.In many sites write that, bedroom is not place for aquarium. In that room I sleep study and make all my things. My personal element is strong metal. Thanks in advance. I do personally feel that it is not advisable. A bedroom should be quiet for good night rest. That is why bedroom is usually classified as Yin. With activities from fishes swiming or the light in the aquarium all these creates more yang. So not really good for bedroom. The more scientific reason would be the water in the fish tank tends to have a certain type of fishy smell, plus depending on the fish some fish/water featuremay make some no…

Dear Cecil, I intend to buy a package from you, but still be confused which direction what method that I need to use. From the front page under your website, to have direction for flying star, you need to stand in the center of house and look into the middle of the door (https://www.geomancy.net/shoppingcart/storesg.cgi?action=link&sku=SELFHELPPKG4&uid=8333) But in this message from this forum, you said that we can stand in front of house looking towards to the horizontal road if it's land property or level from 2 to 7. Could you please clarify this because I have only 1 credit if I buy this package? Another question for this topic too, if house has front door whi…

I cannot shift the stove back to kitchen due to some restraints. Please advise whatcan Ido as I heard the stove &washingmachine shouldnot be placingeach other. Generally, the it is often not good for stove to face the fridge/washing machine. But this depends on the type of washing machine. For example front loading washing machine has a glass porthole. Thus under symbolism in Feng Shui, when water fills up the washing…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I've brought a resale flat recently. The master bedroom has built-in head-board& side cabinet for the bed/mattress. I noticed that the bed will be facing the door. Is it a good feng shui as I heard the it is not advisable to sleeping with with legspointing with the door. I do not want the shift the bed locationdue to theconstraints of the built-in cabinets & wardrobe. Do you have a skech or drawing of your current layout? As it is hard to suggest other alternatives or to see if you are really having this coffin position layout which is usually inauspicious. The problem most people are talking about is to have a bed that is position i…

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'm a strong water. A few of my inauspicious days this month are fire element which is my wealth color. It was suggested in the auspicous dates section that I should wear my favorable elements on the inauspicious days. My favorable elements are wood, earth and fire. My reasoning is that I should wear earth color on an inauspicious fireelement day since earth reducesfire. Am I reasoning correctly? Generally, when a day is inauspicious, it normally means that there are either some conflict between the day and the year and with your ba zi or suitability. So it is not necessary directed directly at your own individual element or suitability. …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Please advise is there a general guide line to choose a date for shifting house? What should I look out for when I'm trying to determine the date? Or is there a general calender for the whole year which should which date is good for shifting? In general, there are a few ways of checking to determine a good date:- 1. If you do not plan to use a tung shu / alamac calendar or ba zi, then most will agree that 1st or 15th day of the lunar calendar is often considered an auspicious date in general. 2. If you at least have a tung shu / alamac calendar, you can look for dates which is stated to be generally auspicious. In general, these should be …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Could you please let me know the effect of metal portable building structures used as a temporary office on persons who are already of a strong metal element. Generally, as a Strong Metal person, having anything metal will of course not be favourable to that person. However, in general, most furnitures are generally made of Wood, Metal or Glass (water). Of which Wood furnitures are the most popular. So that would make Strong Wood person will be most at the greatest disadvantage as most furniture is wood element, right? Well, not really. In feng shui, we need to prioritize which is more important and which is least important. So like if you h…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm a bit confused. My front door sits at 302 degrees NW and was built in 1918 which makes it a Period 3 home right... Do these positions still line up with the Ba-gua with the entry in the Career (north)section etc. or is my career section in in the NW since this is where my front door is? The Flying Star concept assess your the feng shui of the house based on the facing and period the house was build. While Eight Aspiration (based on ba gua), gives a general intepretation of what each direction is represented in general. In applying feng shui, always go for personalised analysis first. Meaning Flying Star is more important than Ba Gua anal…

Dear Terry, Terry Law wrote: How can i block Poison arrows/Sharp corners from the pillars pointing to my bed in my bedroom? Could this be the reason why i am having insomnia at night? Like the earlier post, if you can shift the bed to avoid the corner from cutting into your bed. If not, find ways to cover the corner, maybe some curtain decoration or if you can put some decorative partition etc to block it. In addition, you should also check if your room is affected by the afternoon sun, which can often cause a room to be too hot even after the sun has set due to the heat that is trapped. These is also often a factor which can affect a person's sleep. Besides Feng …

I'm sorry, but I do not understand your answer and how it relates to my situation. Please allow me to explain my question further....perhaps my original question was misunderstood. I have an entrance at my kitchen/dining room. This is not the main/facing entrance (Main/facing entrance is in the west). This is in a single family house, not an apartment nor is it in a building with other residences. The side of the house where this door is located is the South side of the house, but because of the particular layout of the grid of this house, where that door lands on the grid is in the SW sector. So I was wondering if the entrance is considered to be a SW or South entrance.…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My kitchen happens to be right below my bedroom and my stove happens to be right below where my bed is positioned. I cannot move my stove to any other part of my kitchen What cure can I use to help me with this issue? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Generally, the reason why this is bad, is simply because the chances of fire starting is very high in the kitchen. So if a fire does start, your bedroom will be most affected by it. Don't be believe in using like 6-coins to balance up this sector. It won't do you much good as if there is a fire, the coins will probably melt. You be much better offby installing a smoke detector/fire alarm to ale…

Dear CF Yow, CF Yow wrote: We will be moving to our new condo next month. However upon checking our auspicious dates, the weekend dates in March do not seem favourable. Pls advise a 'practical' way to 'officially move-in' to our new condo on a weekday, without really having to move all our stuff. We intend to move the bulk of our stuff on a weekend. Simply select the better date to officially move-in, and then follow these move-in rituals:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/temp/user/move-in.doc Once you do it, you can move your furniture later. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
