Dear Anooja, 1. For a protrusion, it is good to view it from a top-down approach. 2. Often, hopefully, if one can visualise air-flow into the unit/home, then, things like odd angled protusions, sometimes may create `vortex' or non-smooth air flow e.g. a U shaped building may not often be ideal, here. 3. Frankly, I cannot explain, to those who cannot understand what I said under the above paragraph. 4. For example, if one cannot visualise, then think in-terms of a wind tunnel experiment. Here, smoke is blown towards an object and the relationship of air flow is looked at. Much like cars with drag coeficient of less than 0.29 for cars such as the Audi 100 etc... 5. In Sha…

Dear Lionel, Seems like it is ok. As the toilet is not in the middle but rather close to it. At the ground floor, it is best that the toilet is not located at the frontage of a home. On the second storey, it is preferred that the toilet is not above the main entrance door. Generally, what you had described is pretty common for quite alot of homes and still acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Is it advisable to live in an apartment fully round in shape? Generally, a square house is still the best. A fully round shape house will still be considered having missing corners at all 4 corners. So generally, will not be as good as a square shaped house. Furthermore, it will be extremely dificult to put in most furnitures that are basically designed in rectangular shape. The only good thing is being round, it can help defend against most sha qi as the building is like cutting outwards against other building. But generally, better to still stick to a square shaped house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center…

Dear Himai, Himai G wrote: I am a strong water person with wood influence. for control, i know i should use more 'earth' and 'wood' colors, items etc... what would help me for wealth? For a strong water person, fire element is your wealth element. So when you have sufficient balance of earth and wood element to balance your chart, then you want to have more fire element. Since five element can always be found around you, ie your home, your career, your colour, people around you. You can choose any area in your life to have some fire. ie say the colour of your car you can choose to have fire element. Or choose a career in sales/marketing which is fire element. You can re…

Anonymous wrote: if you have wood as an element, is that your wealth element as well? is ones wealth element the same as the element you get i.e. a horse with a wood element? Wealth element for your ba zi is defined as the element your self element destory. For example, a Wood person, Earth is the wealth element. For example, a Water person, Fire is the wealth element So for your case if you are a Wood person, then Earth element is your wealth element. Hello. I hope someone will have the patient to read and help me as I'm kind of desperate. My flat has the front door opening South-West (241 degrees) and facing North-East. Rectangle shape (missing small part on South corner, near the door entrance). The rectangle flat diagonal (end near the entrance, on the missing part) is closest to the N-S direction. All of my family members are from West group except my oldest son (5.5 years) who is an East one. And we do have some troubles with him since we moved in here, 2 years ago. He's not speaking correctly for his age anymore, not paying attention, agitated, frustrated, always against everyone and everything and so on. I must …

Dear Yvonne, Feng Shui is a holistic approach. The two major schools of Feng Shui are used to look at a home. The two major Schools are: 1. Shapes and Form 2. Compass Schools: The Eight House Theory The Flying Star Theory You have to ask yourself this question " I want to install many mirrors because I geniunely liked them or is it because I have heard that `mirrors' are beneificial ". If it is `hearsay' information that mirrors are good for Feng Shui to bring Prosperity, then, it may not be the case. The cause for concern is `over-eating'. Even in Feng Shui, we should not try to add more than necessary. Logically speaking, a mirror serves a purpose i.e. to look at our im…

Dear Esther, Usually, from a Feng Shui point of view, often, the bazi element of the person is matched with their bedroom colours. Overall, colours that often may have an impact on sickness is Bright Yellow and in some instances, Bright Yellow and Bright Red. In other instances, Bright Green is another colour to watch out. In general, safe colours are metallic colours or white or light pastel colours. Since the woodstove is black, blue is in my opinion (in general) still acceptable in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Thank you for the illustration. The second door you mentioned in the illustration seems to be a passage way rather than a door. As the doors are on the side, I cannot see any other doors directly facing your "always" opened office room door. Thus from a shapes and forms point of view, it is perfectly acceptable to have this type of arrangement. Furthermore, your office table is away from this passage way which is good and that you had mentioned that this is an excellent facing direction for you.

Dear Ken, Quote: Ken L. wrote: However in my four pillars, I have lots of water, in fact too much. Of course that makes me strong wood too but water becomes my unfavourable element. 1. In this case, you were derived as a strong wood person as the breakdown of your chart has lots of water. 2. As are a strong wood person, then your best colours are: 1. Fire (Red, pink or purple) 2. Metal (White, silver or gold). 2.1 Your wealth colour is Metal. Master Cecil, I belive in FengShui and i did make some changes to my house according to FengShui and it worked. Now i am planning to get 'Fu Dogs' for my house, but the problem is i am not able to find male and female. All i can get from local store is either both males(Fu Dogs) or general entrance Lions (not Fu Dogs). I went over couple of sites where i can find Fu Dogs for reasonable prices, because i cannot afford more than $300. My Question, is that okay if i have two male ( Fu Dogs) ? Could you please expalin me the significance of two Lions (not Fu Dogs) / two male Fu Dogs? Please suggest me which one should i go for. Thanks, a lot i appreciate for all the help th…

Hi Master Cecil, I have a gold fish tank in the NORTH sector and a LARGE 400 litres marine fish tank in the NORTHEAST sector of the house. I understand this might not be ideal sectors for the aquariums for this year, but due to the massive size of the Marine Fish Tank, it is not possible to move it every year to the auspicious sector. So, what should I do? Marine Fish Tank - currently in Northeast sector, cannot be moved, i used a lid to cover the aquarium and hang a crystal sphere near the tankGold Fish Tank - currently in the North sector, can be moved if need to, i use a lid to cover the aquarium and place 2 brass dragon near the tank

Dear Anon, I am afraid Feng Shui is not a `cure-all'. It has no basis on curing one's back. Perhaps, you would like to see a doctor. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elena, 1. Overall, this `area' comes under the concept of Yin and Yang and the NE (Devil's gate) and SW (Devil's back door). 2. The type of tree is also very important here: 2.1 Look at the tree. Does the tree i.e. the leaves branch out and occupies a large diameter of the location e.g. does it create such a large `foot print' that the area below the tree is one `big' darken area. Where possible the tree should not create too yin an environment (below it). The larger the foot print, it is less ideal. Particulary if it is too close to the house. 2.2 It would not be auspicious for the tree to be at the compass direction NE or SW. Some of us may not believe in spirits b…

Dear Winters, I believe, that although you are `wood'; consideration should be: 1. If you are a STRONG wood person, this would be beneficial as metal (not just the sliding door) but the entire trailer is more `metal' helps to destroy wood, and neutralises the strong wood. If you are a STRONG wood person, the above is beneficial to you. Here, water element would be beneificial to constantly `replenish' the wood. Water element refers to the colour blue, grey or black of shades of it. However, if you are a weak wood person, you should use more of water element to help increase the wood element. (Here, water element should be "used" more than if you are a strong wood person)…

Dear Patty Rown, patty rown wrote: I am moving into a small apartment and the rules are no painting, wallpaper and of course I can not relocate any appliances. Dear Master Cecil, Kindly refer to the attached picture. I'm intending to buy a unit (i have not offered but interest is there). The common toilet door partially faces both the common bedrooms, Bedroom 1 & 2 in the attached picture. In this manner, what should i do to nullify any negative effects, if there is any? Also, the master bedroom door is directly in line with master bedroom toilet door. If i were staying in this unit, what do you suggest i should do ... if i make sure i keep the master toilet door shut at most times, will that be sufficient? Thank you.

Dear Anon, Please see below:- In my opinion, this has to do more with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. Perhaps, I need to side track abit:- Overall, the most popular `bird' is the mystical bird i.e. Phoenix. In Chinese culture, a wedding card will inevitably have a phoenix (representing) female and dragon (male) symbol representing this union of couples. The other more popular symbolic birds are: the egale, pheasant, swallow, crane and magpie. Now coming to `birds'. Sorry, if sound crude but the Mandarin worn for bird or `niao' is `penis'. (Once again, apologies - but this is true!) There was a time when Nissan cars came up with a model called " Blue Bird ". Here, many Chin…

Dear Anon, Orange colour because of it's close resemblance to literally an "orange" or a "mandarin" orange is considered as "gold" colour. And gold belongs to the range of metal elements. Thus, painting it orange, would be bright and colourful! More importantly, many toilets are in enclosed area and often not well lit. Thus, especially if we do have elderly at home or youngsters, it is still good to go for light pastel colours in a toilet. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Is it advisable to paint the bathroom orange if it is in the NE sector of the home? Is it OK to use the enhancing color of orange in the NE earth sector when it is the bathroom, or is…

1. Frankly, it is difficult to follow all the descriptions you wrote, below. Quote: Does the building year change where one should place the rooms? 2. I am not sure what you mean by the above. If you are saying that you are relocating or changing place of sleep for family members, than a room is a room is a room. And it does not change the building year. Imagine, if we were in the 1910's walking along the streets of Singapore; we might see a well organized worker clearing the streets. In the picture is a hard-working civil servant; some regard him as a scavenger. And he is clearing and cleaning the streets of North division. In the back-drop is the dust-van. Today, we might call this a dump-truck. Much like those placed outside a premises to haul away debris and yes, dust from the work-site (renovations or A and A works)
