Dear t p, t p wrote: i picked up an item at an antique shop. the item had a label reading "feng shui compass", but the item contains nothing that resembles [to me] a feng shui compass. the item has a compartment that opens to where something may be placed, which leads me to believe it just may be just a simple incense burner, but i'm totally confused about characters carved on the top and sides of the item. If it is a compass, it will at least have a compass in the center. As you mentioned it opens up to be empty. Thus, no likely. The incense you mentioned could be a possiblity or simply a storage ornament. As for the words. It is not clearly written. But it is actuall…

Dear Reina, Reina Bernadette De Leon wrote: My house is in period 7. Should I also follow the flying star of 2005 to cure the afflictions and enhance the stars of the other sectors. My gua number is 9 and my death direction is northwest. What cure should I install to negate chue ming? Thanks you. The easiest way to apply flying star is always fix up the 20-year sector because this influence will last the longest as long as the house luck does not change. The yearly luck will come and go each year. So these changes are not absolutely lasting very long. However, a little caution to where the star 5 and 2 which are the two worst stars should be neutralized where possible. …

Is this car considered metal or waterelement? It would still be considered Metal element. Water is considered as Gray but often of a much darker tone. The greay metallic under the shade still does not qualify as a Water element. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Based on a couple's birth details, is it possible to tell whether a particular year is a good year for them to purchase a new house, property? The ba zi can only tell you what luck you are supposed to enjoy in any particular time and period. This is often used to check whether it is a good date, good month, good year etc. So you can make use of it as a guide whether this is a good or bad year to own a property etc. However, purchasing a home is only one aspect. Finding a good hosue that fits the family and has good overall feng shui luck is more important. This is because the house luck can adversely influence your ba zi given luck. Thus, fi…

Thanks for your help! Generally for air-conditioner placement. You should avoid if possible to have the air-con located above the toilet door or directly above your bed. These are two not so good placements. The other aspect is to ensure that air-con does not blow directly into your face when you sleep. This may cause you to wake up the next day and catch cold. If you do have such a placement, then adjust the air con flap to blow down, so that it does not blow at an angle tow…

Dear Anthea, You cannot compare two different method's analysis. This will be like comparing an apple to an orange. Even in just the feng shui / horoscope, if you use Eight House gua element, this also does not match the ba zi element. Why? Eight House calculates fromthe year of birth, while Ba Zi calculates from date and time of birth. However, even though both gives you different analysis, but you will know that certain analysis you use Eight House while certain analysis uses Ba Zi. Same with nearly all concepts. Pu Kua or any Divinity method is aconcept to attempt to predict what might happen or to help choices. This is entirely different from like Ba Zi which only…

My kitchen worktop table is black colour.I have heard thattoo much red colour is not good feng shui for kitchen. Is this true ? If yes , what can I do about it ? Too much of any single colour isn't good. In feng shui, the idea is to create a balance and harmony. This means that you need to have a balance of all five elements. Only then will you get perfect harmony. In terms of a single room decoration, it is best to always have at least two or three elements. Preferably three elements, because it will create an auspicious five element flow. ie water - H…

Dear Chong Boon Soon, Chong Boon Soon wrote: What is youradvise ifa house has a period 8 setting (which is good for 20 years beginning 2004) but also has a unfavourable influences such as facing T or Y? External Shapes and Form influence will always have more impact to an home compared to flying star or eight house influence. A house with good external shapes and form feng shui is a house is the key to enjoying a quantum leap in feng shui. That is why we keep stressing that a good house begins from the external environment. A house with good flying star feng shui only deals with luck within the four walls of your home. No matter how much you enjoy the luck, the luck …

Dear Sophia, It all depends on the interior layout plan. Actually, for those living in a landed property, often, the frontage of the home would be the living room area and "behind" it is the diningarea. Thus for landed properties, more often, the diningarea is higher than the living room. And not the other way as mentioned, below. This is quite common because, most of the time, "clear-space" should be at the"frontage" and the back of the home should be higher. Thus, generally, without taking intoother considerations, for landed properties, there may be a concern if theliving room is higher than the dining area. This would suggest that there is a "mountain" at the fronta…

Understand it is symbols of protection in the home or office. Dear Sophia, This is not Feng Shui but rather, it is a common practise by many Chinese to place the Kuan Kong (holding a Chinese long sword) facing a main entrance. Since he is holding a sword, he should not be facing into or "looking" at us in the living room. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, This also has to depend on the regulations of individual countries. For example, in Singapore, today, all apartment especially those next to or in-close proximity to either the lifts or emergency staircase must use at least a half-hour fire rated main entrance door. Thus doors with such glass designs are out -- as it is against government building regulations. For other countries e.g. Malaysia, you may have to confirm whether it can be used. Locally in Singapore, most people -- even those living in the landed property avoid having partial glass doors because more of "custom" i.e. not quite used to the IDEA (in our minds) as it invokes "danger" real or unrea…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, the question asked, may have more dimensions than what you had mentioned, below. For example, other major considerations like: 1. Is the stove facing a good direction (often should face a good direction suitable to the woman "head" of the home.) 2. Best to avoid placing the stove directly at the NW compass direction. This is known as "fire at heaven's gate" - considered by many FS practitioners as a very inauspicious location. For the stove as well as an oven or even a toaster oven, here. 3. If the kitchen is located at the South (fire element) compass direction of a home; it is OK to have the stove facing a water position. But if the kitche…
