Hi, There is only one additional thing you can do to help reduce this problem is to ensure that the bedroom which your husband stay's should be one of the good sectors of the Eight House. This will at least help to offset the problems of the unsuitablility of the house. However, the long terms solution is still to move out of the house as this house no matter how good the Flying Star is will not bring great wealth to your husband. Anyway, since you are not sure whether the main door is South-East (112.5 to 157.4 degree) or South (157.5 to 202.4 degree). Use the degree's provided to verify if your main door is South or South-East. Use a compass from somewhere at the ce…

Dear Angel and Bernard, Please see below:- For NE30 degrees, avoid placing the crysals and amethyst at the location where you are considering placing your dining table. That location should preferably be avoided. For the collection of 50+ pieces, you can place it at the location (previously the altar of the previous owner). Avoid placing it when you first step into the home i.e. at the divider of the room. The above is the better location. Preferably, your fridge be placed just after you step into the kitchen area (to the right) or next to the washing machine). Avoid, placing the frige facing the stove in the SE sector. Yes, you can use Metal i.e. 6 metal coi…

Dear Christina, In my opinion, based on Chinese culture, there is a wish that good numbers bring one luck. Few people relate the relate the no. of fishes to one's kua number. But rather, many people such as Chinese (Cantonese dialect) or Hong Kong people spent money on `numbers'. For example, in my part of the country, we pay bids for car numbers e.g. such single digit new car numbers such as 8 or 9. Therefore, I feel that it would be nice to have the above number of fishes. (Not compulsory thou). This is a separate matter from a Feng Shui audit where the FS practitioner advise their clients to place a certain number of fishes either gold or black to neutralise Sha Qi. In…

Dear Elena, In my opinion, painting the trim black does not invoke water. In addition I believe, that symbollically, it does not `touch' the roofs (where water may weigh down on the house). Furthermore, if one applies the 33.3% ruleset, it does not `occupy' such a large area. Nevertheless, yours is an interesting question. If it is not `broken' avoid `fixing' it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cynthia, In Feng Shui:- 1. Flying Star analysis Usually, if one falls sick often in a new house, assessment using Flying Star to check especially the sickness/misfortune sectors can help in this area. 2. Shapes and Form Check especially if there any poison arrows aimed at the bed? or through the bedroom window. Is the bed placed on the same wall as the toilet? 3. If you live in a landed property, is there any underground water running under the house close to the bedroom? http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm (Under para 3, this is usually due to prolonged stay in such a house. The above are the three key tools used for checking on sickness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Suzanne, 1. Under the Five element concept, it is true that fire produces or fuels earth element. If we take just this two element flow. 2. However, this is not the "end" of the world. Earlier on, you are just looking at what is known as a "TWO-ELEMENT" flow i.e. Fire give rise (or fuels) Earth (full stop). But it does not end, here. 3. One can look at it from a wider spectrum i.e. move into or apply a three element flow i.e. FIRE - 6. To get around the concern of: not able to introduce say Red, or Green or some other colours because of one reason or the other, we can instead, introduce the entire "range" of the Five elements. This is simply known as FIVE-ele…

Dear Cecilia, Usually, I do not `verify' questions especially when a birthdate has been provided. At times, the question would be moved to the conference " Samples that will not receive a proper reply ". I hope you understand that, I not here to do all the homework i.e. someone furnish me a DOB and I have to first, do the calculations or pre-anlysis. Instead, quality time should be spent on analysis or provide advise based on all available information provided to me since there is only 24 hours a day. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. For those who are perhaps new or not too sure what questions would not be answered please browse thru the forum " Samples that will not receive a…

Dear Julia, Frankly, there is not much one can enhance in a small apartment. Where possible, try to make it as `cosy' as possible depending on the one's needs. Needs depend on:- Whether the apartment is used as a `haven' to return to after busy work schedule or used partially for sleep and study. The major principle of Yin and Yang can be applied in the room. Such as making the room more Yin (for good night rest) or semi-yin and yang (for study/relaxation or sleep). Please see below:- Realistically speaking, not much one can do here. It is good to close the bathroom door when not in use. If there is the luxury of a side table; one can place a lamp on it to serve a…

Dear Mary, Thank you for making the effort to describe the lot. However, it is quite difficult to provide an accessment because one really needs to look at the site inorder to properly evaluate the situation. Please see below:- 1. Using Flying Star to see which can be your best main entrance. And if possible, the house has good Flying Stars in the various rooms. 2. Use the eight house charts to see where the bedrooms and the main entrance (can be). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, 1. Primarily, under Shapes and Form FS, check to see that the centre of the home (where possible) should be one where there is clear space. 2. For the fire-place, ideally it should be located where one wall is occupying an external wall. This is the same concept of a toilet where, one wall should preferably be an external wall. This would `prevent' the fire-place being in the centre of the house. It may depend on the size of the house. 3. If you are looking at asthetics to consider whether your house is balanced, it is quite difficult (I believe) to achieve since it is difficult or near impossible to move your fire-place. 4. Basically for windows, the main th…

Dear Doctor Z, It is best to give a sketch else, with a top down perspective. I really do not like to second guess or run thru line by line description. Which I feel can lead to miscommunication. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I bought a house in March 2005. The house was built in 1976 and the house number is 546. The previouse owners remodeled the kitchen in 2004 and I have painted the interior, replaced the bathroom vanities and re-tiled the floors, replaced one of the showers stalls, and re-carpetedthe whole house. But still, I have not been well since I have been here. Yes, earlier, I had checked and found that for both male or female, born on your birthday (excluding time of birth) it is still the same element. With the introduction of time, usually there are two time range that can change this person's element from Strong metal to a weak metal person. And can also change the various component's of one's Five element breakdown.

Dear Sumtra, 1. Thank you for sharing with all of us your personal experience with your encounter. 2. It also reminded me of a similar situation i.e. in East Malaysia where, there were tribes who lived in "long houses". 3. These long houses are really, really long. And because they are so long, compass directions are difficult to be taken correctly. 4. Some of these tribesmen in the past are head hunters or cannibals. 5. They do display shurken human heads (usually the modern generation) use animal heads such as monkey heads and hang them outside their house. 6. Actually, what you mentioned also has a parallel in Chinese homes. For example, in one of the Pictures under my…

Dear Anon, 1. The key success in Feng Shui is often " Not practising Feng Shui at all". 2. Frankly, if one analyse Feng Shui carefully, often the key success has much to do with our external environment. Or higher weightage is to placed on our external environment. 3. For example, just three months back, this businessman consulted on his home Feng Shui. And he is in this `metal' parts business for quite sometime. 4. After our home consultation, he asked me whether, should he invite me to look at his business Feng Shui. 5. Here, I asked him how is his business. He said, it is OK. 6. Given this understanding, I mentioned to him that it is not really necessary to do a FS au…

Dear Mandy, Please refer to this resource on how to determine the centrepoint, etc... http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-house1.htm There are many (many) Schools of Feng Shui. And your geomancy master is not wrong. In the past, ancient times, getting the main door is simple since, many of the homes / with court-yard are rectangular in shape and where the main gate facing is, the main door facing is often in the same direction. In ancient times, there is no such thing as so elaborate a building with honeycombs of various `facing' homes. Given this senario, standing at the centrepoint to the main door utilises the concept of "centre-of-gravity" and the flux a…

Dear Bernie/Ann, There are some resources on the type of ba gua mirrors under the attachment picture. Try to check out the conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures). Do a SEARCH for the key words as found in this attachment. A ba gua (pa kua mirror) should not be anyhow placed inside a home. For example, it should not be placed inside a home facing inwards into any of our rooms, living / dining, bedrooms. Or for any purpose, it is not ideal to place it inside the home. If you do a search of the above resource, you can find that a proper type of ba gua mirror (depending on it's shape and mirror and wordings or door gods have different purpose.) For exa…

Hi Julia, Actually, the only reason why people say TV isn't good for bedroom is because TV screen looks reflective. As such it is always related to like having a mirror effect. So the idea behind this is because it is said that when we sleep, our spirit leaves our body. Then when it sees a reflection of itself it will get shock. So that is why it is considered inauspicious. However, what if you are a person who, sees a mirror, comb your hair to make yourself look nice before leaving. So this is all a matter of tolerance. Some people like to look at themselves in a mirror, others don't. But it does not mean that it is at all bad but a matter of tolerance. Frankly, we ar…

Dear Master Cecil, I recently bought a flat at Cavenagh Gardens, 73 Cavenagh Road. Do you have a view on the general fung shui of this development? Does it matter that it is very old (built in 1975)? Does it have any potential negative impact since it's adjacent to The Istana? Thanks for your kind advice. Best, Young Jedi

Dear DeVon, Usually the best advise is to check on one's religion first. For example, if one is a Catholic, one can obtain holy water from the Priest or invite him to `bless the house'. Similiarly, if one is a Christian, could ask your pastor to come to your home and `do some cleaning'. For other religions e.g. Buddhism, Toaism, should seek the help of their respective Priests/Monks. If one is a `free thinker', can still e.g. invite a religious person or go to a Catholic church to obtain `holy' water. Usually, prayers are said before sprinkling the `holy' water in the house. However, it is best to try to invite a Priest and only do this as a last resort. Where possible, i…

Dear Anon, Hopefully, if the neighbour's ba gua mirror is quite a distance away, the further the better for your home. If it is not aimed at your balcony or if you have reflective glass e.g. tinted glass, it can act to reflect back the ba gua mirror if the choice is not to hang a mirror to counter the neighbour's. Frankly, not sure why the neighbour hung the ba gua mirror. Does many of your units in your block has sharp edges "cutting" the neighbour's units? Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am keen to buy a 10 year old condo unit and would like to redo the entire kitchen and bathrooms. By doing this, I understand that the apartment will fly from period 7 to 8. The problem is, the unit number is good for period 7 but bad for period 8. Period 7 : Prosperity, good wealth. Period 8 : Vomiting. Is it possible to prevent from flying to period 8? Please advise. Thanks. Regards. Usually, once you have any major renovation, it will usually automatically fly over to the new luck period. So, in your case, it may be difficult to retain the existing period. In fact, in such cases where you plan to have major renovations, you should be lo…
