1. If you are able to analyse your home using a proper Flying Star Feng Shui chart; you can try to neutralise this issue by locating especially where is the Mountain star #3 and water star #3. 2. These stars #3 are related to issues such as what you had mentioned. If you are able to disarm or neutralise these stars; it would often help to relieve such a problem.

Hi, I recently moved into a new condo and just realized there is a river behind my condo. My balcony is facing the river and it is not visible at all covered by trees. But you can hear the river. My question, since the river is not visible, does it still have significant effects (be it good or bad) on my fengshui ?

1. In fact, as far back as 13 years ago, there was this "argument" with regards to Northern or Southern hemisphere. 2. The concensus amongst MAJORITY or ALL Traditional Masters is that there is no change. Everything should NOT be mirrored. 3. Majority of the feedback was:- 3.1 Many of the concepts use the lowest common denominator: The Five Elements concept. 3.2 Even in the Southern Hemisphere, North is North, South is South (unless one is exactly at zero degrees at North or South pole). Who lives at the North or South pole! 3.3 Thus just because the demonstration that when we empty the wash basin, the water "tornado" flow is a reverse or different in the north or so…

Dear Anon, For really bad stars #5 combined or inflammed by #9; it is good to control this with "moving-metal". "Moving-metal" is particulary useful since you mentioned that in addition to these two bad stars, there is a further #3 = lawsuits, quarrels star. If the bedroom is not a bedroom, then one may consider using a six-hollow-rod windchime at that specific sector. Or a chiming clock around the wall of that sector. A clock that makes mechanical movement is also acceptable. Other traditional Feng Shui cures include:- a. the placement of a hulu or bottle gourd e.g. placed at the bed side table. b. for severe cases: get a jam jar (sized bottle). place 6 copper co…

Dear Anon, 1. In most traditional FS practises, the person's true element i.e. weak or strong element is taken into consideration especially in trying to make the room more closely `fit' the Ba Zi of the person. 2. Thus, if you are a weak water person, light blue colour and even blue colour bedsheet is considered beneficial to a person with weak water element. 3. The caution with `blue' lies with it over a person or room. For example, it is avoidable to paint the ceiling of the room blue. As this represents `difficulty' or water weighing on a person i.e. in the room. 4. For a bedsheet, for example, one is sleeping on top of it. And e.g. light blue painted on the wall; doe…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: From the Bazhi Summary, all the members of my household are suitable to stay in a north facing house. Will it be even better if we alsolive in the northern part of Singapore, such as Woodlands and Yishun? Yes, if you consider the ba zi direction, choosing a North of a country is one way of adding more Water to the person. Ba Zi direction is typically used in Macro analysis rather than micro analysis. Macro analysis is such as countries located in North, or North part of the country, or direction of travel North wards. For such analysis, ba zi element and direction would be better. Micro analysis is more like facing of a home, or sector of b…

(4) But the main door is directly facing the other apartment's main door. I read that luck or good qi will be sucked away by the other apartment or vice versa, what are the remedies? COMMENTS: In my opinion, it depends! Sound more like: Grandmother's tale. COMMENTS: In Singapore (SGP) in my opinion for condominiums; as high as 30 or more percent of flats have doors that face each other. For public housing; nowadays, this may be around 20 percent or less. COMMENTS: Thus in my opinion, the above is no big deal. Predominantly many homes in Beijing are North to South facing for a reason... because of the "dusts" blowing from the north.

Dear Gagan, 1. Usually, this is due to the sickness #2 and/or #5 (Flying Star Theory) within certain areas of your home particuarly the bedroom. 2. In general, without much investigations using the above theory, you could try placing 6 i-ching coins tied with a red string and hang it above the room. (Usually, an FS audit should be done in such situations to determine the exact location). However, you may try to place it around the bed area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Yes, N1 and S1 charts are nearly identical. With the exception that their Water & Mountain Stars are flipped as shown here:- N1 PERIOD 9 CHART For example North is 8 1 S1 PERIOD 9 CHART While S1, North is flipped as 1 8 instead This is simply the nature of Flying Star charts. Thus a N2 and S2 will share similar traits etc.... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cam, Since the home is in escrow, do what you already. If you are applying Feng Shui principles, then the most important is firstly to check for any "threats" aimed towards the home such as a lone lamp-post slicing owards e.g. the main entrance or windows. Space-clearing is another commonsense approach to Feng Shui i.e. do not overly clutter the home, garage with too many boxes and storeaways etc... If you are still into Feng Shui, then take your time to understand key concepts like: Shapes and Forms Compass School : Eight House (like what you are doing) and if possible chart out a Flying Star chart of your home. Dear Elizabeth, 1. In Feng Shui, the front door especially at the frontage is considered the mouth of the house. 2. Primarily, this location should have clear space. 3. Thus, in my opinion, it does not matter if one place a fs turtle at this location. The main thing to avoid is to make sure that the front door is `protected' from sharp corners of other buildings or lone lamp posts that could `slice' thru the main door. Equally important is to avoid any objects with its mouth opened facing the main entrance area. 4. Even if the north = water element does not matter since this is the front area. Purchasing a `fs turtle' in my opinion, is just a decorative item... in such a …

1. Frankly, there are more in Feng Shui than what you had mentioned. 2. The info and the enhancements that you want to make in my opinion, is like trying to apply "Kindergarten Feng Shui". 3. For those who want to DIY and use many of the "logic" found below, should seriously scrap applying this type of kindergarten Feng Shui. Here, it is better to go with your feelings than to "considering painting the front door black to help enhance my career/wealth ". 4. Proper Feng Shui has no precedence with ideas and hopes, below. 5. For those who really only want to DIY, have to really find means to enlarge your Feng Shui knowlege. Frankly, this cannot do. Dear Wasis, In my opinion, it is best not to practise Feng Shui in relation to a direction and its related colour or element. The rationale is because, it is too general without considering the birth chart of a house. Instead, you can perhaps look at the two theories:- 1. Protect, protect, protect. Stand a the main door and look out of the house. Are there any threats? If so, appropriate cure(s) should be used. Without relating to whether, e.g. North = water. As sometimes, two potted plants can be used to neutralise a poison arrow etc... 2. Flying Star Feng Shui Use this instead to look at the sector. As it involves three element relations and the 81-combinations of the …

Dear Jen, 1. The worst location to touch or disturb from 1 February 2003 (1st day of Lunar New Year) is South at 220 degrees. 2. This direction is where the Grand Duke of Jupiter is suppose to be sitting. And it is very inauspicious to disturb or touch him. It may bring several years of bad luck. 3. The 3-Killings location The 3 killings location is directly opposite the grand duke location. Therefore if Grand Duke is sitting at 220 degrees, than this coming Goat year 2003, the 3-killings is located at 40 degrees. Please see below:- Note: True magnetic compass direction at 40 degrees. Here, do not do any renovations. No. Traditional Feng Shui Compass School uses …

Dear Anon, 1. No, what you mentioned is not the correct application of Feng Shui. 2. In Feng Shui, we must determine, whether is it personalised for the individual? 2.1 If one look at it closely, even Shapes and Form School analysis is personalised to the individual or the specific home. For example, if there is a corner of a building aimed at your home, the poison arrow is aimed at that specific house. Thus it does not mean that because of the poison arrow aimed at the above house, other houses e.g. a neighbours would automatically get the Sha Qi. Most likely not. If so, it may, instead be at a `T' junction and thus have a totally different poison arrow. If we scrutini…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I realised that kitchen is not good to place at the north. Generally, if you look from it at a fundamental level. North=Water, so a kitchen in the North will be like Fire vs Water which clash. However, frankly, this is only one level of looking at it. I mean given that there are only 8 directions in any layout, at some point some layout will certainly have kitchen located in the North sector. So does it mean that everyone who has the kitchen at North will be doomed? Of course, not. This is because the overall houselayout vs the house flying star luck isequally important. If the house is able to take advantage of the frontage or external Qi…

Correction: No (2) question should have read 5,1,7 (mountain, base, water) instead of 5,7,7. BTW, is it bad to locate a bedroom in this sector? as the 7 metal controls the bad 5 earth or do I still need to add metal. Apologies for any inconvenience. Awaiting your advice. Keith C

In my opinion, if it is just a very short "disturbance" e.g. just one or two nails to a wall, is STILL OK (acceptable).

Hello ? hoping someone can help? We have a sw1 facing period 8 cottage. My question is regarding the north this year? Firstly is it the square segment of the bagua we use to determine exact north location or do we use a compass for finer accuracy? Secondly what element do I work with here.. 6 mountain. 9 water. 4 central palace. And all that with visiting annual 5 star? It is currently cream and white....too much metal? Should I introduce any water/blue...black to weaken metal? (6 mountain star=metal...nw=metal) don't want to muddy waters with water and earth (visiting annual 5). Would wood strengthen the fire element number 9 facing star....thereby enhancing 5…

Dear Janice, 1. The idea of a mirror is not so of Feng Shui but rather a belief. 2. Here, the belief is that when one sleeps, a person's spirit (is said) to wonder out of the body. And it could `face' a shock if it sees itself in a mirror. 3. However, from poll results as found under this URL: http://sg.geomancy.net/poll/poll.pl The two interesting results for these two polls:- Do you have a TV set in the bedroom facing your bed? The results of this poll is shown below:- http://sg.geomancy.net/poll/poll.pl?id=032410115238&view=results If you do not cover the TV sets, do you have sleep problems? http://sg.geomancy.net/poll/poll.pl?id=032410115548&view=results 3. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I got a plot with cut on North West Side. What could be the remedy for that? For a house, you still can correct with mirrors or creating a rock or garden feature to symoblically cover the missing corner. That is when you view it from the top view, it looks like the missing corner is covered. Generally, you can't correct a missing plot of land. Anyway, even if the plot of land is odd, as long as your house isn't odd shaped or missing, it should be fine. Hope that helps. Dear Anita, It is good to `properly' examine the `missing corner': 1. Normally, it is not considered a `missing corner' if the area of the missing corner is not greater than 33.3 percent of the entire sector. A sector implies cutting the entire house into 9 equal squares. Within each of the squares, please examine if the missing corner exceeds 33.3 percent. If not, it is quite safe. 2. For a landed property: You can outside of the house, `draw' an outline of the missing corner. For example, using landscaping such as a grass outline or use plants to `create' this border. Normally, at the corner of this sector, many FS practitioners would advise having a lamp to light out t…
