Dear Joan, 1. Actually, there isn't anything too major to be overly concerned with. But definately, keeping the door and toilet bowl close is good enough solution for this. 2. Does your house have a final door before it goes to the yard or common area. Usually if this door will be considered the final extend of your house area. If not, then it is not really considered part of the house area. 3. Under the water classic, it is auspicious to see water flowing in the home. For the back, you must make sure that anywhere from your backyard you should not see any open drain to back house. 4. If you do not see it then it is not a problem. If you do, then if possible …

Dear Guest, From a "Commonsense approach to Feng Shui" ideally, bedrooms should not be located at the centrepoint of the home: 1. Firstly, if none of the walls share an external wall, this often suggest that the middle room is "at the mercy" of open windows or it is quite difficult or harder for air flow to circulate to the centre or middle of the room. And most likely, there are "dead qi" around this area - if no proper ventilation. 2. Fire safety This is not so much of Feng Shui but as many of us are aware, if or should a real fire occur, most likely, the middle room could be engulfed with smoke. And not only this, rescue attempts or even planned escape is much hard…

Hi Angela, Sorry, but didn't see any attached picture. So quite difficult to comment based on your description. Please re-attach the file. Generally, you need to be more concerned about the breadwinner (probably your husband). You need to ensure that the house faces at least one of your 4 good directions and have a suitable bedroom for the breadwinner. If the eight house is quite opposite, then at least house should suit the breadwinner while the bedroom should suit the spouse. Hope that helps. Dear Sophia, Not many know that in the past, elephants had roamed China and they were very common within the North and South of China. A set of elephants actually represent a "source" of strength. And often, the elephant is decorated with motifs and thus considered as bringing fortune to the family. The elephant is both revered in Thailand (especially the white elephant) as well as is one of the gods of the Indians. It is Ok to have a pairfacing or looking outwards. Warmest Regards, Cecil

This is thelayout of my apartment. I am a Kua 1 female person from ?77, with auspiciousareas of SE, S, E and N (but I do not know if that should be understood asgeographic or Bagua-wise). The apartment?s main entrance is with a normal compasson the East, and the living room?s and the bedroom?s windows and the balconyare facing West to a noisy street. I need to improve my health, myrelationships, and my income/career. 1. In the bedroom, I can?t place the bed (140*200cm)in a way to have 2 nightstands and comfortable walking space around the bed, orto have no noise during night coming from the window. 2. In general, I believe you have done your best for the new office. For a long corridor (if there is sufficient space), plants on alternate side at intervals would be `nice' to have for Qi manipulation. More importantly, the location of key personnel's table position such as you and your partners are critical also. Bear in mind Shapes and Form techniques to place the table not by itself but against say a wall. It is equally favourable to site at a good direction or facing position i.e. The Eight House facing chart. If possible, you and your partner's table/seats should be located at the back (and especially good) if there is a wall acting as a solid backing behind both of …

I have been given to understand that spiny, spikey plants are best avoided within the home and only used defensively at the exterior boundary, if needed.

1. So sorry, this site does not use the "Fixed Template" type of "thing"."Thing" as I cannot can it Feng Shui. Anonymous wrote: I'm moving to a new home where the basement stairwell is in the Marriage/Relationships area of the house. There are five steps down, a landing with a full sized window facing north, and then..turning right... eight steps down into the basement. Do I treat it with colors and cures as the Marriage/Relationship area? Or, do I treat it as a missing part of the house?

Dear Kenny, Please see below:- This is good. More importantly, it is best to look at the entire building/block in relation to the Shapes and Form of the location, here. Is the piece of land where the whole block can accumulate wealth or where it flows off. Other consideration is that are there any poison arrows aimed at the apartment through windows.. This has to be looked into carefully. This is ok:) More importantly, best to look out for missing corners in the home. So long as the bed or other furniture are arranaged in good Shapes and Form, this should be acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Miss Quiss, 1. Not all situations are the same as it also depends on the layout of the house especially since you mentioned that there is an `east' wall immediately backing the fish tank. 2. If you have placed the fish tank for quite some time i.e. more than 3 months without any effect i.e. particularly sickness for the spouse; and/or finance keepings going out. If one does not face difficulties as mentioned under Para 2, this is fine. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, 1. The term " Flying Star Feng Shui " and " Xuan Kong Feng Shui " is one and the same. 2. In fact, if one looks carefully at the naming convention in this forum, under the topic header "Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing)" one will come to understand that Flying Star is indeed Xuan Kong Fei Xing. 3. As money plants prefer some shade, in country which is near the equator, and subject to direct sunlight; it is very common to see money plants planted just below expressway flyovers i.e. the shaded ground. These money plants grow very well such that they look like a vast carpet `grass' covering these areas. As to whether one can plant a money plant in the soil; it can…

Dear Johnny, Thanks for bring up this interesting question: 1. When we talk about wealth area, it is good to look at macro Feng Shui. 2. In macro Feng Shui, the traditional way is to look at a land where the dragon Qi can flow from within the land mass towards the sea. 3. For example, many Chinese cities were built where the dragon Qi flows towards the sea. 4. Such as a river, which can be considered a dragon where it flows from high above and merge with the sea. 6. This is truly considered the `wealth area' where populations, can grow and `create wealth'. 7. For Hong Kong, many buildings especially if they are at the mouth of the sea, have a clear opening to allow such a…

Dear Viren, In my opinion, it is best to relook at your Marketing and Sales strategy, first. Here, `packaging' of your product and how it can achieve sales through the distribution channels. As Feng Shui or Chinese divinity methods, emcompass a wide field especially for a company. It is harder to apply Feng Shui or Chinese divinity methods as a full scale of methods i.e. depth and breath may have to be used such as analysis of : owner(s); the company's location; the owner(s) Pillars; the owner's home. In fact, a whole barrage of Feng Shui and Chinese divinity methods may have to be used in a holistic way in order to improve one's `luck' or the company's luck. What I feel…

Hi Penny / Master Cecil Thanks your interest. Looking at the whole block is also quite confusing as the lift lobby is facing South, looking out at a carpark, not very bright. When I try taking South as the facing, I go back to my unit, South is the kitchen area, quite dark (less sunlight comes in here) and looks more like the back than the front. Hence I have to seek advice from Master Cecil as to where is the actual facing. What happens if my facing is my neighbours' sitting direction as point block is a square, all 4 corners has a unit. Master Cecil, would greatly appreciate your advice. Best Regards Em free-advice Listmanager wrote: From: "Emily Ho" Dear Master Ce…

Dear Robin, First of all, a warm welcome to this forum. Feel free to check back past messages which I believe, would help to understand Traditional Feng Shui. 1. The key essence of a good Feng Shui house is based on Shapes and Form School. 2. In order to achieve a quantum Leap in Feng Shui and not entangled under a vicious cycle of `poor' Feng Shui is to look at how a piece of land (it can be the entire neighbourhood) and your specific piece of land can be seen to be able to accumulate wealth. 3. Here, for example, even before one builds a home on the land, a competent FS practitioner is sought to advise on the piece of land and plot where a house can be constructed which…

Dear Vijay, In my opinion, there are many other factors that can influence the sale of your house. Overall, the main factors are: 1. Location, location, location. 2. Selling price & market conditions. 3. Luck factor - however, there are said to be many forms of luck. Chinese divinity uses Pillars of Destiny (map out Heaven's luck) and try to increase this. 4. For Feng Shui, if there are salient or good points of the house under Feng Shui; one may try to `sell' this as value added - provided the buyer can be convinced about Feng Shui and good points about it. Sometimes, if the house is not so good, this can however backfire. 5. For a new good house, you can try out th…

Dear Alex, In my opinion, for a 1 room flat/apartment; usually, it would depend greatly on the `larger' building and site. In my opinion, since this is a 1 room flat, one may not get a `Quantum Leap' in Feng Shui by `applying' FS principles here. This is because many of the concepts of Compass School may not be easily applied as the area is pretty small. Here, one important point which I feel is that if one cannot achieve a `Quantum Leap' in Feng Shui, the `returns' in using FS may not be that effective i.e. it is like spending $1.00 to get back only $0.80 cents or less or even if we can get back a small profit of `$1.01 cents is this good enough. For, small apartments, i…

Dear Susan, It is interesting to review the poll results under: http://www.geomancy.net/poll/poll.pl In this url, you can find the poll on TV set facing the bed. It is felt that some of us are more sensitive to having a mirror facing the bed then others. While for some people, this may not be an issue. Usually, the advise is that a mirror (relection) or in your case a full-length mirror (should) preferably not face any part of the bed. If, so far, you can sleep well in the bedroom then, I personally feel that you need not change the full-height mirror. Alternatively, if you are wanting to change it, this can still be done or you may want to consider using an opaque film/p…
