Dear Anamika, For application of colours, it is advisable: 1. If one is not sure what colours to use, then neutral colours can be used. For example white or pastel shades (light shades) should be used for both interior and exterior walls. 2. It does not matter if the exterior wall is facing east and therefore, we assume that the inner wall is facing west. We should instead consider that sector as being in the `east'. Here, we should look at both this external wall and interior wall as located in the east than to say that one side face east while the other faces west. 3. If one uses, Feng Shui, the colour of the room walls should preferably be painted to suit the element …

Hello, Am confused which to follow: 1. According to my Bazi chart, my most favorable element is earth. Next favorable is water. - so from this chart, my house should face either SW, NE or N. However, I also read from one of your posts that under Period 8, North facing houses are the least lucky houses. 2. According to 8 mansions theory, my most favorable directions are: N, S, E, and SE. 3. Since you say that the North facing houses are the least lucky for Period 8, should I focus on either South or East facing? I know there are other considerations to factor in like shapes and form and flyings stars, but I'm just asking as a general question only. What do I fol…

Dear Dinesh, Thank you for your photos. 1. Please see attachment 2. Given the situation, you should place a wind chime at location marked A. 3. And see if you can remove the shelving under marking B. 4. Area of wealth A scientific method is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to activate wealth luck and relationship luck. For example, under Period 7 house, one can activate #7 water star (with water) - if the location is possible to improve on wealth. Under Period 7 also, #7 mountain star location can also be activated for relationship luck. And also try to balance all the Flying star areas. Warmest Regards, Cecil 1. Dear Ann, Ann H. Huynh wrote: I understand that when looking for a piece of land to build a house on, the frontage of the lot needs to be narrower than the back/rear. Is there any truth to this? Basically, the one to be most concern is to have a frontage or opening which is larger than the back/rear. This is because it is like you have a head that is too large for your body. Imagine if you have a head larger than your body, it will be a burden to your body in terms of being able to balance yourself properly when walking. Thus, it is more ideal if you have a frontage that is narrower than the back. Of course, each plot of land is unqiue so you have to see each plot to b…

Please refer to my earlier forum message. Chinese astrology should be taken on the "lighter sight" and not in the serious grain. For example, that is why, we named our Chinese Astrology with a "fun" url : Lovesigns.net How often do you see any "serious" conversations or messages even in this forum on the talk of "those born on 1953 or 1965 da... da.. da ... da ... da.... So let's try to leave it that way...

Dear Vivek, Thank you for your words of encouragements. Please see below:- For a weak metal person:- Favourable elements: Earth (yellow) and Metal (whitelgold) Unfavourable elements: Fire (red), water (blue/black/grey) Wealth element: Wood (green or brown). Please take note that for a weak metal person, wood is the wealth element. But caution here! A weak metal person has to FIRST increase the weak metal before, one can take advantage of or use Wood element for wealth. If not, wood will further aggrevate the situation. A weak person must therefore, strengthen their weak metal first. Five elements concept is all about balance. Usually when applying the element a…

Dear Tammie, 1. You can go the Free report tools at http://myfengshui.geomancy.net to use the Free Flying Star report. 2. Before you do this, you need to find out exactly what degree is your main entrance door direction. 3. You can use this site to find out exactly how to find the compass direction:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm 4. Under the Free Flying Star House Report, it will tell you all the problem areas (if any). You can find out from the report whether there is any inauspicious sectors here. Usually if that sector is inauspicious, majority of the time, there is most likely an imbalance caused by bad earth or bad wood. In some of th…

Dear Dominique, A good foundation is always to try and seek the reasoning. The Chinese I-Ching coin can be analysed as followings:- 1. The outer circle (of the coin) Circle represents metal element 2. Colour of the coin The colour of the coin looks metallic i.e. copper coin. (metal element) 3. What is the square hole? If one looks carefully at the productive sequence: Square represents Earth element. What so good about this? Since square represents Earth, under the productive sequence: Earth supports or fuel Metal. Thus symbolically strengthening the Metal element. 4. Why use 6? (6 coins) Number 6 represents BIG or STRONG metal. 5. Why use Red string? Red represents fire.…

Dear Kumari, 1. Based on the Eight House Theory, it is good to study, by sitting facing a good direction. 2. In the Flying Star, there is a education sector but this is difficult to determine given the small room you have. 3. Under the `penmanship peak' theory, one could place a `Pagoda' figurine on the right side of the study table. Best wishes in your studies:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, This depends really on how far apart are the two doors. If quite a distance still acceptable. If too close, the reason behind it is that conflicts will tend to arise. It sounds to me like it is a house on the opposite side of the road? Then not an issue. You could always have like some plants or fence that help to block the direct view of the door to door. But like mentioned, if it is a distance away not really an issue. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Vera, 1. If possible (top priority) the staircase should never be facing the main entrance door. This is considered inauspicious. 2. And should be cured if it is an existing house. 3. A staircase can still face the dining room. This is a better option. 4. Where possible avoid having a circular staircase as this is not a good configuration. 5. It is good to have a turning or a landing for a staircase. 6. Therefore, in my opinion, avoid having it face the main door (at all costs) if your house has not been built yet. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vijay, It would be great if all leaks can be penned down in one forum message. But, this is impossible to do. We have actually, made available, free resources within this site and this forum. You can always try to look at the specific forum conferences e.g. Photo tours with interests, Singapore Property etc... Alternatively, note down which topics interest you, and use the SEARCH feature under this forum to find out more. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anooja, Under this current Period 8: 1. Past prosperity sectors are WS:7 and/or MS:7 This is already considered as past prosperity and not worth activating unless there is a double 7 (which in this case, a water position can be used to drown it). 2. Present prosperity sectors are now WS:8 and/or MS:8 If the sector meets the conditions e.g. if there is clear space such as in a living room and if this location has WS:8, then water can be used to activated wealth here. Similiarly check to see if a mountain star can be activated at section with MS:8 3. Future prosperity Since we are under Period 8, we should not forget about #9 since #9 is known as the future pro…

Dear Wanama, If you are doing a major renovation under this period 2004, usually your home would be "flying" into the new Period 8. While it may seem that chart is very auspicious under Flying star but if the main door faces a hill etc.. then this is very inauspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lina, It is best that one truly understand the "root" reason or "basis" behind this being considered as inauspicious. The reason why it is considered inauspicious is based on "Commonsense approach" where if there is a fire in the home, a most likely location is from the kitchen / stove location. And because should a bedroom be above the kitchen; since fire rises upwards, it may be a cause of concern. On the practical side, it is more worth-while to instal smoke detectors in appropriate places than to rely on "Feng Shui" cures. Use of water in a bedroom or kitchen may often be not a good solution especially if there are electrical points and other electrical equi…

Dear Anon, 1. Besides the layout plan; another most important element is the flow of qi - into the house. 2. if there is a relatively clean / unpolluted lake, often, this is a plus point for various reasons. 3. A lake, close-by will often have another `secret' weapon in Feng Shui: trees and plants. And often, with such ecology; it will sustain life (animals or insects). And in many countries, some of these lakes are water catchment areas. 4. Thus, it may not be unnecessarily bad for a lake. 5. Sometimes, if our house has a patio or deck facing the lake; it may mean that this could instead be the frontage of the house. 6. Please note that not two situations are similar a…

Dear BND, Most of the time, as an individual we want our individual apratment accessed. In such a situation, the front door is the door of your individual unit. (NOT the main entrance of the building). Usually, when the front door of the main building is being accessed, this is often done by a Feng Shui practitioner for the building owner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fran, At a location which you had described i.e. mountain #8 with water #8, then this is known as a double #8. And under Period 8, this is considered an auspicious combination: 1. Virtual water In certain situations, for one reason or another, some may not be able to activate water at this specific location. For example, if this is the front door and on the exterior, it could be a lobby shared with other subsidiary proprietors or tenants. Here, since the main entrance is at the frontage with double #8's no real water - is acceptable. 2. If one stays in a landed property, one can have a pond, as you had mentioned, right in front of the house. Ideally, the water …

Dear Nikhil, If you have seen most of the questions posted, Feng Shui and Destiny deals trying to increase luck. Feng Shui tries to increase one's earth luck while Destiny (Pillars of Destiny) maps out the heaven luck and we can enhance oneself with it. Thus, it is hard at the moment to pinpoint what went `wrong' presently. The other situation is that holistic Feng Shui plus destiny depends on your level of participation or usage of it. For a start, you can:- 1. Improve on `Earth' Luck You can use some of the concepts or check whether your home is `harmonized' with - Shapes and Forms Feng Shui - Eight House - Flying Star 2. Improve on `Heaven' Luck - Pillars of Destiny -…

Dear Sonia, I took quite sometime to reply to your mail because, with the limited information, that you have provided below; it is difficult to `pin-point' your problems. An `L' shaped house need not be all too bad. In fact, if one is using Feng Shui, there are many types of analysis. What you have mentioned is focused only on a specific sector and in the interior of the house. Please see below:- If you have a bathroom door between your bed, one can place a side table and a table lamp on top of it. Under Feng Shui, it symbolises a `partition' between the two. If you feel uncomfortable with the two mirrors facing each other, a `cheap' alterative is to place a opague fi…

Dear Radha, Generally, if the renovations are major (ie replacing roofs / hacking of walls / adding roomsetc), then your house would have moved to 1990s (period 7). Usually for houses that are old, it can be sometime hard to say for sure unless you know what have been done. But most likely for most old houses some major renovations would have taken place, so it is very likely that it would have moved to period 7 (1984-2003). Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
