Master Cecil, Thank you for your prompt reply. As I am a male yin wood OX with 5 earth , 3 wood , missing water, fire and metal. As I am not well versed in Feng Shui and I gather from your sample that I can increase my unfavourable elements to compensate the missing ones in my ba zi reading and reduce earth and wood colours . Is that correct ? Thank You Mike .

1. There are many factors involved in Feng Shui when evalutating of a (new) home. 2. Since it is one of the largest investment that one is likely to make; if you are not sure, then try to get a competent practitioner to evaluate the home for you. 3. Traditionally, the number of the home is "transparent" to Feng Shui. 4. There are many different methods and formulas with regards to whether a house number is auspicious, inauspicious or neutral. 5. And in many instances, the phonetic "sound-like" e.g. Cantonese avoid #4 etc.... can affect the resale value (or marketing) of a home especially in a predominant area with some Chinese. 6. Numbers are a double-edged sword: F…

1. If one wants to find out one's career based on Chinese Ba zi, then you need to "include your DD/MM/YYYY. The free report to find your element is here:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm 2. You have find out your element and strength. 3. Under the Five elements concept: the industry known as "accounting" belongs to the metal element. 4. In addition, many of the past messages had covered things like the industry can be e.g. metal element. While the job specification is another consideration. For example, one can be:- in a Metal industry (accounting) but job specification is wood element. Wood element includes skills like co-ordinat…

1. Frankly, there are more in Feng Shui than what you had mentioned. 2. The info and the enhancements that you want to make in my opinion, is like trying to apply "Kindergarten Feng Shui". 3. For those who want to DIY and use many of the "logic" found below, should seriously scrap applying this type of kindergarten Feng Shui. Here, it is better to go with your feelings than to "considering painting the front door black to help enhance my career/wealth ". 4. Proper Feng Shui has no precedence with ideas and hopes, below. 5. For those who really only want to DIY, have to really find means to enlarge your Feng Shui knowlege. Frankly, this cannot do. 1. If one wants to try to concieve, but unable to, Feng Shui can be used to aid in this attainment. 2. Frankly, for those who have limited knowlege and want to DIY to achieve above, will really have to be on par with a professional Feng Shui consultant's knowlege. 3. Again, let me remind users that this is a Free GENERAL advice forum and not a Free SpecificFeng Shui Consultation forum. It is so easy to give dates of birth and .... wait for an answer to drop down from? Quote: Anonymous wrote: We plan to paint our home ( present it is dry white). 1. Some people have the opinion that since (the person's) home is a period 7 home; they were "told" that their homes MUST fly to Period 8 in order to obtain positive luck. 2. In real life situations, some homes have expensive renovations done or the quality of build is at the premium or luxury level. And to make major renovations is both costly and not practical. 3. Thus whether the Flying Star chart is a Period 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8, one can still see if one can tap the beneficial benefits UNDER PERIOD 8. 4. For example, I had mentioned countless of times, that if you are applying Flying Star, then check to see if the following Flying Star numbers CAN or MAY be activa…

1. In the past, I had posted messages on living in a small room. 2. Under the outline of Chinese Metaphysics, the highest order is what is known as Tai-Ji. Below this level is the Yin and Yang concept. 3. Below the Yin and Yang Concept and if Eight House (Eight Mansions or also called Ba Cai) Feng Shui cannot be applied due to a small room, then the "higher" level Yin and Yang concept should be applied. 4. Here, Yang represents the day or bright or things equivalent to study, physical exercise. While Yin represents activities for relaxation and rest and sleep. 5. Especially for a student, which must have a balance between studies and sleep, many logically try to set a…

Under the Flying Star Feng Shui, #9 represents the fire element. And fire inflames #2 (bad - weak - earth) and #5 (bad strong earth) elements. Not exactly the kind of cure one should intend to apply to these two bad earth stars. Maybe, just maybe for #3 (bad wood). In my opinion, therefore, it is not the normal convention to apply 9 coins for #2 and/or #5. However, as Flying Star analysis takes into account the 81 combinations of the Mountain and Water Stars, then in some cases, it may be used.

1. In my opinion, technically, all the arguments are logical. 2. Majority of the time, below the staircase (or same spot) as the staircase, many contruct a store room. And this can help to "lock up the bad stars". In addition, it is always better not to have a bedroom or living area with really bad stars vs that of the staircase. 3. It is known fact that if possible, the stairs are covered (top and side). 4. As for wooden staircase, concrete, metal, all these can be based on the Five elements concept - if it does not have an impact of the building code, no issue. 5. Many homes with flaws such as corkscrew staircases etc.. may not necessarily give it a disadvantage. Fo…

1. Everyone has his/her ba zi or "birth chart". A home also has it's own "birth chart". 2. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui: a home's ba zi (birth chart) is based on the Flying Star Feng Shui. Where e.g. what is the birth date of the home? And in addition it's specific direction. Thus a home can be a Period 8, North-West 1 home. 3. So long as one can properly identify where is the water wealth sector of a home, we can than "safely" place a water feature in (inside) the home. 4. Thus, decision made under Para 3; is made first, without consulting or checking to see if the owner (breadwinner)'s elements are suited or not. 5. Thus under Para 3, the breadwinner or sp…

1. In GENERAL, under Period 8, it is highly good chance that a water feature at South-West can benefit "most" people as this is generally an "indirect-water" wealth spirit location especially if it is a balcony or patio area. 2. As mentioned in my earlier, message on your earlier question, we are talking about the Feng Shui of your home (earth luck). 3. Under the Chinese holistic approach to luck, there are three kinds of luck:- 3.1 Heaven Luck (what one is born with) and analysed via Ba Zi 3.2 Earth Luck (Your home, office, business or place of stay/rent) 3.3 Human or man luck (Relationships, family bonding etc...) and many also get conned thru"Bull-shit = buying of c…

1. The Flying Star concept uses the "Five Elements concept". And each Flying Star number is associated with the five elements. For example: #6 = strong metal and #5 = strong earth. 2. The 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui In general each sector (North, South, East, West...) etc has three numbers; MS# W# B# (Mountain, Water, Base or Palace star). 3. When applying the Flying star, one should be looking strictly on the Flying Star numbers. Thus even in the West sector, if there is a double #8 then the rule of Flying Star applies that if this is the frontage a "proper water" position can be considered. 4. For simplicity, can understand that strictly North = Water, East = Wood…

1. Frankly, it depends! Since often, no two homes are the same. 2. Many of the considerations will also depend on how a person view where the centrepoint of a home is. And like all human beings, realistically, one may even get different results from different Masters! 3. The saying goes "Be realistic". In such a case (determining whether a home has a protrusion or indent) would make this more of an "art" rather than a science of Feng Shui! Therefore, we have to accept this fact in life! Quote: Amanda Y. wrote: How do we conclude that our house has a missing corner rather than a projection/protruding corner? For example, my house could either be considered a SOUTHWEST …

Frankly, in my opinion, having done many (many, many) audits over the years; homes that range from "Quantum Leap" in Feng Shui to even "average" Feng Shui homes can sustain "such so called inauspicious" circumstances. Thus, honesty, the saying goes: "It depends!" No two homes are the same. Some homes (landed properties)may have the same layout, size and design but they are never on the same foundation of a plot of land. Therefore, we should be looking at each INDIVIDUAL case, for fair comment on each of them. For example, in some past forum messages, even under the Flying Star Feng Shui, if there is a cluster of "Yin" Flying Star numbers in a sector, and if this bedr…

Dear Rachel, Actually, that is not really contradicting at all. The balance of five element is for you to fine tune your favourable and unfavourable elements. You should simply just proritise the favourable elements in to the different percentage. For example, a strong water, favourable arewood (0%) / fire (26%) / earth (5%). This simply means that:- Wood (0%) is the most favourable Earth (5%) is the 2nd most favourable Fire (26%) is the least favourable as there is already more than sufficient. Same goes for the unfavourable element. For example Metal (50%) and Water (5%). Metal (50%) would be most unfavourable (so should avoid) Water (5%) would be the least un…

1. If the kitchen door is closed most of the time, it can be a "non" issue. However, very often, for practical reasons, few families close the kitchen door as it may be inconvenient to do so. 2. There are cases where some clients, place an automatic door closer for the kitchen door. This is one solution. In some cases where owners often turn on air-con in the living-room, the automatic door closer is an added bonus, here. 3. Never, never compromise on safety! Usually for a partition, especially reasonably "heavy" ones, they should not be used unless they are properly secured or mounted. 4. For example, if one has a heavy four panel (hardwood) partition such as the"Chi…

1. In my opinion, you are trying to compare "apples" with "oranges". 2. For example, the basic idea that north = water, south = fire. Are like apples. Very basic form of the five elements concept. 3. If I were you, seriously if you are into the DIY type of Feng Shui: after reading your sentences: 3.1 A little knowlege is a dangerous thing. 3.2 You (really, really) have a long long (extra long) way to go in understanding, or even comprehending concepts of Five elements vs Eight House (Ba Cai) Feng Shui. 4. I seriously hope that you are not going to practise both "Fast Food" or "Commando style" sounds like but not real Feng Shui.

1. In my opinion, honestly, it may or may not be coincidence! 2. As normally when we (professional) practitioners have to do an indepth study e.g. of one's home, check one's luck periods etc... 3. Assuming that there are currently no unlucky stars that appear for the home, then, it may be the case (associated) with what you had mentioned. 4. If your favourable elements are yellow (earth) and green/ brown (wood) than it is still best to go with these two colours. 5. In general, if you still continue to suffer an unlucky streak, without much improvement, then there is a higher weightage that this colour may likely have brought you inauspicious luck. 1. Frankly, location, location, location is the first importance. 2. For example, the external environment, the site, the block and lastly the unit are equally important. 3. Thus for a better understanding, Feng Shui should be looked in under all areas of Para 2. 4. Yes, usually, the master bedroom is at one end of unit. (in most cases). If in doubt, always try to forgo that unit, unless you sought professional advice (e.g. to review it's layout plan vis-a-vis the compass directions etc..) Quote: Lee I. wrote: I would like to know whether I should purchase a unit where the master bedroom is not the end of the apartment. The common bedroom is at the end.

1. Usually, an indepth study would have to be done to trouble-shoot what is the problem. 2. Frankly, as you had mentioned i.e. all things being equal e.g. no change in colours except for the change for single to queen sized bed. 3. In my opinion, it could either be one or both:- 3.1 The flying star #3 could most likely "land" e.g. in your master bedroom or main door. This #3 has to do with relationships. Frankly, unable to advise, you exactly where it is. 3.2 BUT, you may consider "trial and error" Feng Shui by having a night light or a table lamp especially best that has a red shade. usually such a lighting is used to burn or destroy this bad #3. Seriously, even if …

This is not Feng Shui. But, most Chinese "feel better" or have a "feel good" factor if their buddha statue has it's eyes "dotted". Quote: Tng K. wrote: do we really need to get a buddha statue for kai guang before placing at home for praying?

Honestly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. It is a holistic approach to harmony, health and balance of qi. Scientifically, Feng Shui can still be used, but this is "troublesome" especially for newbies or anyone not family with it. As for selling, if one knows how to: first locate where the home has bad star numbers like #3 , #5 and #7, there is a higher chance based on Feng Shui to improve the luck for selling the home.

Frankly, I can only offer very general advise, as proper Feng Shui or the application of Flying star Feng Shui looks at the three variables such as the Mountain / Water and Base star numbers to provide a better clue or understanding of the current situation. Currently, it is now like the "blind, leading the blind" type of situation. As proper Feng Shui is about mapping the entire senario or situation i.e. exactly finding where , and what type of "leaks" is at your home /room and directly zoom into it. At best, or the current reasonable approach for you is to do "Feng Shui by Trial and Error". Quote: Akay J. wrote: Hi I am the one who changed the single matress to queen…
