Further to what I had mentioned; these are some interesting points: 1. There are many cases where as a result of a tragic death; the person who had dead; does not "know" that he/she has died. And in many situations; could return to his /her favourate place. 2. For example; this is a true story in 1930; this lady had a wonderful time with a new found boyfriend. And tragically, she died nearby in a car crash. 3. During the session where she was asked whether she knew about it; she said that she had no knowledge that she had died. Dear Peck Wun, Yes, it is preferred that an altar does not face the main entrance. Here, it is considered disrespectful as you are asking guan yin to guard your door for you. If you can, (if possible) although the altar can be located facing the main door, where possible, try to see if guan yin be facing towards a wall instead of directly, facing the main door. Avoid, tilting guan yin but as mentioned above, see if you can allow her to face e.g the wall next to the main entrance. Or alternatively, change the location (if possible) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. One thing for sure, most of us would (intuitively) feel uncomfortable about this - especially if; one leaves one's main door open. 2. Yes, it is best to take a `peep' on the type of god that they are worshipping (other than their ancestor tablet). 3. Dear Master Lee, I am bowed down with these worries: 1. My bedroom door faces the windows 2. The staircase lead directly to the side of the altar. I was told both cases create bad feng shui. Please advise to resolve them. Thanks.

Hello, We have sewer pipes exiting our home to go to the septic tank. This, of course, has to happen, but I am concerned about them crossing the path of the front door. They are of buried underground and they do not cross the front door entrance. Is this okay?

Dear Sophia, So long as the altar table is of sufficient length (often proper altar tables fit the Feng Shui ruler measurement); there should not be an issue as to how many deities are placed on the table. It also depends on the size of the deity and usually, as mentioned previously all of them should not be placed on the same height or level. The rule of thumb is that one should place a reasonable number of deities one worships but bear in mind that there should if possible no two identical type of figurine such as two Guan Yin's etc... Dear Master Robert Lee My brother's housealtar table was place against the kitchen toilet, facing the main entrance and above the altar area kidsroom. It had been placed for 12 years. As I have some knowledge of feng shui I advice him it inauspicious the altar table place against at the kitchen toilet. I have two option here:- 1) Can the altar table place facing the stairs to the room 2) Place it at the living room which is near the main entrance (sideofthe entrance) OR 3) leave as it is. Dear Aloysius, This is not the first choice location is still acceptable provided it is "shielded" from the sun and rain. The altar should be placed with a solid backing. As to whether it is to be placed on the right side or left side of the balcony, so long as immediately facing the altar - we do not see any "ugly" objects e.g. drying of clothes or shoe cabinet. For practical reasons, this is a last resort. So long as the stove is not on the opposite side of the wall, this is still ok. No issue with cabinets on the opposite side of the wall to store kitchen items. Dear Eng Soon, Generally, often it is best to purchase ready made altars. Most of the time, these altars are made according to Feng Shui measurements. If you have a Feng Shui ruler, most of the time, good altars have both measurements for both Yang (living) and Yin (dead) Feng Shui ruler measurements that match good auspicious measurements within these two zones. Thus, generally, good altar measurements range between:- 15 inches to 17 inches 16 to 27.5 inches 34 to 35.5 inches 41.5 to 23 inches 49.5 to 50.5 inches 57 to 58.5 inches Any of the above can be used for either the Width, Height, Length or Breath of an altar. Note: no attachment found (Cecil) I am in the midst of renovating my Hdb flat. I am Installing a divider at the main entrance, the I'd designed The divider with wood panels slanting style and I just Realized that the panels may point to mykwan yin altar. Attached the picture. Is this poison arrow? What can i do? There is nowhere I can amend except full dismantle it.

1. If they share the same wall but different level is OK. 2. Just check to make sure that especially: 2.1. The altar does not share a wall with a toilet.
