Dear Robyn, Yes, the action to be taken, seems reasonable. So long as the pointed edges does not create a sha qi towards the main door, this is good i.e. cut it or "flatten it". There is no issue if it looks like a "crown" - with spikes above. As this can become a sha qi to neighbouring buildings. For the higher floors, just be careful to avoid it being seen inside the premises. For example, if one works inside the same building, the pointed spikes should not be seen inside the work area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Guest, 1. The rationale why, the "numbers game" is not used in Feng Shui is; as you had correctly pointed out: it is subject to so many different interpretations! 2. For some race (and dialect) groups, it could be based on phoentic sounds. 3. Since, numbers are to be interpretted so widely or diversly, it would seem furtile to argue which numbers are better. 4. Even in numerology, there are just too many schools. And where do we begin? 5. More importantly, if it is from a Feng Shui angle, often, it is not the number of the unit but rather: the external environment, the site, the building that plays an important part. 5.1 For example, we often find homes with `nice' n…

Dear Nisha, It is understandable, when you mentioned that you are only a tenant and would like to have many of your favourite things in your bedroom. Yes, I do encourage you to make first and foremost your room as comfortable with all your favourite things! It does not matter if there are fishes. But, it brings you both pleasure and comfort - GO FOR IT! The logic here is based on this understanding: 1. Often, many good FS practitioners will stick to or advise their clients on the Holy Trinity of Feng Shui: 1.1 Heaven Luck - what is given to us 1.2 Earth Luck - our abode / work place 1.3 Human Luck - what brings us happiness:) Sometimes, for some, we have limited earth luc…

Dear Anooja, 1. For star 5 for a period 7 / 8 house in the center isn't a main issue. This is because usually the center is not where most bedroom or any important rooms are located. 2. Usually for center of the house, it should be kept empty as far as possible this is usually where all the different influence will meet at together so not wise to have too much of any elements. 3. A more major issue where some homes are affected with the presence of Star 9 and Star 5 are present at the same sector. This is because Fire will fuel the Earth Star. So this is not a major issue to worry about. http://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_neutral.gif Hope that helps. Warmest R…

Hi Mary, Finding work is probably work itself. I know many many people who do not practice Feng Shui and still are able to find good jobs. Here are some of my suggestions to enhance your luck with work. 1. Get educated. Beats working for McDonalds and settling into a career that you enjoy doing will take you to success. 2. Go for a make over. Change bad habits, create a positive attitiude. Be confident in yourself and if needs be, get a nice hair cut and upgrade your clothes. 3. Aim for the top. Companiesneed tolook at you as a valued worker rather than a burden to the company. 4. Excercise. Keeping yourself in good shape and good health will improve the soul. 5. S…

Hi all! I'm looking for a Resale flat now and was attracted to the Waterway Terraces for it's unique look and convenience. As part of my research, I chanced upon your review of the "less bad" units in Terrace 2, was wondering if there was something similar for Waterway Terrace 1? Also, is the Feng Shui so bad to a point where it's really a no go? Or can we potentially fix it after? Cheers, J

Dear Hoa Luong, Structural engineers or foundation experts are similar to doctors. In fact, many of them are certified in their profession. And given their professional accrediations, it is best to rely on their judgement. Surprisingly, sometimes, good quality wood may even lasts much longer than as mentioned the unexpected high expansion and contraction. It is best therefore to leave it to the professional competence of these people. In fact, often under building regulations, (touch wood) but should there be a structural problem in the future, these people, may be held accountable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Teresa, 1. Appreciate if you can elaborate further. 2. From what I read, perhaps you are mentioning that the main door is located at your `disaster' (Eight House). And this is influenced by Flying Star #6 mountain with #7 water? 3. If this is the case, we should not mix the Eight House with Flying Star. 4. If #6 is with #7 (and without looking at the base #no; then these two are metal elements: #6 is strong metal with #7 weak metal. 5. Again, with reference to the base #no; this can be considered as a classic case of "wealth" corner in Flying Star Feng Shui. 6. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui, if there are: 6.1 If this is frontage of the house (which signifies clear…

Dear David, Thanks for the layout plan. The P.E.S. (personal enclosed space in this case should not be included, here). For such a low floor, you should take the main door as NE instead. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Amy, If you do not do any major renovations, your home will be considered to have a Period 6 birth-chart. Under Period 6, the number 6 is always considered an auspicious number. Even after Period 6, say even a house with double 6's (mountain and water star) is also acceptable - auspicious numbers. Given that the Number 6 is always an auspicious number, even under Period 1 to 9. But however, the number 7 is different. Under Period 7, any number = 7 is very auspicious. But after Period 7, this number turns to it's own bad number i.e. 7 = robbery or theft star. Therefore, a house with in Period 7 i.e. has a double 7's (very auspicious during Period 7) will "turn against…

Dear Charles, Given that this is a business premise, you can do an audit for: 1. External =========== Here, one should look at the site, the heart of the building and do a flying star from the middle of the building extending out. Purpose: water position(s), mountain positions and not forgetting shapes and forms FS. 2. Internal =========== If you are only investigating your office, it can be done. I am always open to those who provide a sketch to locate the centrepoint etc... If you have one will be better. Since, I often worry about commenting on descriptive sentences....I rather, not if I can. Hope u understand. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, 1. "We are opposites!!!" 2. Cecil: "So are We!!!!!!!!! " 3. In some of my past messages, it is best to take a three-step approach to understanding any concepts: 3.1. What is the purpose of the concept? 3.2. What are it's strengths? 3.3. What are it's weakness? 4. The eight house theory has more to do with how suitable a house is to us? 5. Does it imply "how suitable are we to each other? Yes/No? 6. I would say, NO! It does not mean that one should get separated, live apart and finally divorce! But, one day, MAYBE, it can become a LAME EXCUSE for someone wanting to `get-rid' of his/her marriage - for good! 7. Even in a bedroom, where there are `opposites'. I h…

Hi Master Cecil, I am considering to purchase a new home that is to be built on a triangular lot. I have been researching on this topic and it shows everywhere that it is bad feng shui to live in a house on a triangular shaped lot. Please review the attached floor plan of the house and the specific lot (Lot #19). It would be greatly appreciated if you could share you thoughts on this property. Benny Floor Plan.pdf

Edited by Robert: If you need someone to advise you on your office arrangement, it is best you seeka proper consultation service. This forum is only for advises on specific area or questions user have. As for arrangement of office, if you can of course you should arrange where you sit facing your good direction based on your eight house. The others would be the best flying star sector so as to obtain the best luck but that will need a detailed office analysis to be done before anyone can tell you what to do.

Dear Sheila, Since traditional Feng Shui has two schools: Shapes and form as well as Compass (Eight House & Flying Star); it is best to apply both to the home in relation to other factors like Grand Duke of Jupiter (Tai Sui). If one is renovating or going to renovate the entire house, it is best to find an aupicious date to start renovations - this will do. And after the renovations, try to avoid any more work to sensitive sectors like NW, West and East. Therefore, this is the only consideration towards what not to do after a major renovation. If one is going to do minor renovations and it happens to fall within any of the above three sectors, then, see if one can …

Dear Melissa, 1. Many people would encounter the same problem that you have faced. Especially if one partner is an East House while the other is a West House person. 2. If one is currently finding a new house, then look at the intangible force affecting each spouse at the main entrance and their bedroom. Go for smoother combinations e.g.: Prosperity vs Irritation or other such combinations as opposed to combinations such as: Longevity vs death or disaster. Under Ba Zi Feng Shui, one should consider `binding elements' or elements that can help bind both partners. For example, Strong Metal person vs Weak Earth person, one should use a binding element e.g. Fire element. War…

Dear David, 1. We all must understand that Feng Shui is not a `cure' all. 2. In my opinion, Great Feng Shui practitioners in the past try to apply Feng Shui that works for most people, most of the time. 3. Nowadays, it is sad that many Feng Shui practitioners use concepts like `wealth corner' etc... 4. For example, many Feng Shui practitioners will advise us that `X' is the location of the wealth corner. And when we follow their advise; it does not work. And, when we ask the practitioner, often, the answer is that `you must' have not done it right. 5. I can sum up that such Feng Shui practitioners are really not truly apply Feng Shui but rather, baised towards: Human or m…

Dear Anon, Besides the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, one should apply the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House and Flying star. For the Eight House, you can use the free report(s) at www.geomancy-online.com to generate them based on the dates of birth given. In fact, there are other reports, but some of them are paid ones such as Finding a good house report. If all these sound Greek, then, hmm.... either if you do enjoy self-help, please try to burn some midnite oil - or alternatively, you can seek professional help, when you have found what you think is a suitable house. These are the two approaches to take. Warmest Regards, Cecil
