Water in the west is bad because: 1. The west is a yin location 2. Water will make west even more yin, thus creating an imbalance. 3. During period 7, even if you have #7 water star, water is bad as it can cause loss of wealth. So, during period 7, no water in the west, unless you want to experience financial problems. Glyn

The water stars to currently activate are #7- current prosperity, #8 future prosperity and #9 - prosperity yet to come. Before you activate the water stars they must be in an open space - like main entrance, not locked away in a bedroom or such other room. Water stars need activity. Mountain stars need no movement. Do not activate other water stars especially #2 - sickness star and #5 - misfortune star. Water in the west is not good. Glyn

Dear Karen, I believe that water leaks should be the pumbing of the house and not related to `omens'. Frankly, for now it is difficult to associate leaks with `Feng Shui.' Dear Elena, 1. Yes, you are quite right. Money plants comes in small, medium or large plants. Small plants merely have roots and can grow in a small bowl filled with water. Smooth rocks are placed to hold the plants. Here, the money plant does not look like it has vines. 2. It is more a western concern, I believe that plants do not have vines rather than Chinese belief. Dear Carrie, We have been looking into this issue for quite sometime. Initially, we were toying with time zones but based on the work done by Robert and myself, we prefer to take the season or time of influence from China. Let me explan why:- 1. Countries like Singapore is exactly on the same time zone as Beijing China. Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan are equally within the same time zone. Even Perth Australia is exactly on the same time belt as Beijing. The rationale is because Chinese hour is two hours and not one hour. 2. Dear Anon, 1:3 is equal to 33.33%. This is a reasonable Feng Shui figure. (please see below) The above is a good guideline. It is used widely in the forum and it should be a good guage when applied to doors and windows. Other "applications" include the advice given if the missing area is 33.3 percent or more, this is considered a missing corner. More examples can be found in messages under this forum. Dear Anon, 1. The reason why some FS Practitioners say to palce it in the good sector is so that when it rings, it is suppose to bring `good luck'. Unfortunately, there are others who have the view point that the `ringing' at a good sector `chase' away good luck. 2. Some on the other hand advise to place as what you had mentioned, West and NW because these are metal element sectors. Dear Anon, Usually, from what I have encountered, this should not pose a problem. Especially if one only rents a bedroom. There is not much choice here. The only thing to remember is to conceptally "departmentalise" the bedroom i.e. keep the scultures at a corner or if really no space on a display shelf or at a corner table or even share it with the study table. Dear JL, 1. The main purpose of all Feng Shui theories is to correct imbalances in the Five elements. 2. Dear Felicia, Frankly, under Feng Shui (Pillars of Destiny) there is no direct application to improve one's relationship. This is because the closes concepts is based on Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zhi). However, Ba Zhi has an `escape clause' which says that it can map out one's Heaven map e.g. of a person and his/her luck. However, our education, parents influence, our experiences can change our heaven's luck. In my opinion, it is better to use other `educational' techniques or behaviour model e.g. child psychology etc... Dear Anon, Usually, the advise is to "go slow" with Feng Shui. It has also to do with what is the level of Feng Shui one is prepared to go into? The quickest way (but cost money) is to go for a Full Feng Shui audit by a competent FS practitioner. Else, if one wants to `learn' (learning is not good enough) but rather applying Feng Shui, one has to spent time and effort like any other disciplines.
