Dear Glyn, 1. Frankly, based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui it is not advisable to place a bed next to the window(s): 1.1 Often, the window next to where one person sleeps could be closed. Or if open, can bring `drafts' of air to those sleeping close to the window. 1.2 A better Shapes and Form arrangement is as shown under the attachment. 1.3 Here, the bed has a back support and away from the `elements' (window). Since, you had also mentioned that there is no toilet at this location. 1.4 Is the bedroom door at the middle or at the side. This is not a main issue unless one sleeps with the legs facing the bedroom door (in this situation, it is akin to bringing out the coffin…

Dear Glyn, Do you have a sketch layout showing this part of the home in relation to the windows (if any); doors and the location of the toilet. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am a Kua 4 east person and I understand for me to have a bedroom located in the North East is a bad thing since it is my death location. I unfortunately purchased a condo (not realizing) my bedroom is or part of my bedroom is located in the North East. Help, need some much needed advise on how I can fix the problem or cure the negative energy? Or if I sleep with my head pointed in one of my good directions could that be a cure for having a bedroom in the North East? I very much appreciate any assistance from someone with some qualification on Feng Shui can give me..... Please. Thank you so much Tamara

Dear Anon, Thank you for your layout plan. 1. Based on Shapes and Form FS (without consideration to other Schools), in my opinion, I would prefer bedroom 1, which is above the laundry area as opposed to bedroom 2, above the kitchen. 2. Attached please find the layout plan: house.jpg which shows the preferred position of the bed in bedroom 1 and 2. Marked by a rectanglar in RED and in BLUE. Depending on the window position, the head of bed if possible is preferred not to rest against a window. 3. I have marked the centrepoint of the home. Even if you are just renting a bedroom, you can take a compass reading of the house and check the `Eight House' of your room to see whet…

mirror in the bedrooms should not face the bed directly, place something between the bedroom door and the stairs and keep the door close most of the time, and most importantyour daughter is happy with the room.

The new house i moved into is rectangular in shape. My bedroom is in the Romance & relationship section. You enter from the left corner or the squared bedroom, door swings inward to left. straight ahead is a window. Right lower corner of the squared bedroom is another window adjacent to the door on the right side of square is long closet with sliding doors. aparently the way the house sits all the main directions N, E, W, S are at corners not the usual flat areas. SO for my sleeping positions all the positive areas are not condusive for the bed position. If i put it diagnoally to the north corner, which is actually a corner not a wall my feel points straight to the d…

Dear Anon, This has more to do with "Man or Human" luck, than Feng Shui. Do what you personally feel nice about `decorating' the "lucky" corner. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, activating luck is based on finding the "lucky" number for the period and see if one can activate luck at that sector. For example, under Period 7, a house built under Period 7 can have it's luck activated with water at the water star location #7. While mountain star #7 can be activated for relationship luck. I believe, sellers of products claiming to be of Feng Shui will sell one anything that sounds - romantic or for wealth. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi. I am new to this forum and to the idea of Feng Shui. And TBH, the more I read about it, the more confused I am. It just seems that there is no good bed placement in my bedroom. The room is pretty small and narrow, the window is more or less in the middle of the narrower wall and it's facing southeast. The door is placed opposite to the window, closer to the right side of the room. Also my Gua number is seven, so my head bed should be facing southwest but then I would be sleeping right between the window and the door... I just can't figure out what would be best in my case. Please help.

Dear Kathlee, It is only bad when placed in locations where there is inauspicious flying star (which will create more inauspicious influence). It is also bad for bedroom when the mirror can be seen when you are say lying on the bed or when you get out of the bed. This is partially due to the "shock" you may get when you first get up still not awake. Seeing an image of yourself can create a shock which is bad for yourself. Otherwise, having a mirror which is used say when dressing or inside the wardrobe hidden when not in used is not really an issue. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Lynn, 1. The garage below the bedroom is not a real issue. A similar question has been mentioned in a forum message - a few days earlier. 2. Since there is a restriction in the positioning of the bed, usually:- 2.1 Ideally, if the head-bed has a storage compartment. If so, this would in effect, place the bed-head further away from the wall. 2.2 If there is no storage area, try to see if you can position the bed at least 1 foot away (leaving a gap) from the wall. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Anon, RED string version is used to control the Metal so that you can effectively use it to control all the problem sectors. This is the correct cure to use for fixing problems. YELLOW string on the other hand has an objective to hopefully increase wealth as it uses Earth as the Wealth and thus Metal destroy it to create wealth. This the it "concept". However, often in good sector, you would probably want to activate the Water areas with Water features as usually those are the better stars you wish to induce rather than just the wealth from the 6 coins. This can be a debatable issue and it depends on your opinion. In my personal opinion, I also classify Electi…

My bedroom is located in the NE corner of my apartment. I recently moved in with my fiance and things are not going to well, we are quarreling a lot and it is not normal. Does this have anything to do with the bedroom being in that corner. I read that this is the Death location for me and also for him. Please advise me what to do. Thank you. Maria E.

Dear Ann, Thank you for the information. Currently, it is difficult to know what is the actual cause. This is because, only a full audit and especially a site survey would be able to pin-point what is actually `wrong'. There are a few points: 1. Usually, due to time dimensions, unauspicious stars could have `flown' to that sector of the bedroom. 2. An indirect result could also be the clearing of trees. I am not suggesting anything but, if dogs become `noisy', without apparent reason, more observations may be required on this. 3. Do stand at the window, and see if there are any poison arrow aimed at the house. Especially, a lone lamp post which may now become prominent, b…

Dear Julie, 1. In my opinion, I would classify the case of a bedroom or master bedroom above a garage as " commonsense approach ". 2. Before, we start jumping or worrying too much, the main rationale why some consider this bad is because a vehicle below the bedroom may inadvertenly `catch' fire. But... wait.... how often does a stationery car catch fire? 3. This is similiar to the situation of a bedroom above a kitchen. Although there is a slim chance of a fire in a kitchen. But statistically, it is in my opinion, much less than a vehicle accident. It is similar to air-plane accidents. It has been statistically proven that travelling in aeroplanes are relatively safe. M…

Dear Jennifer, 1. In my opinion, what you had mentioned dwell more on "commonsense approach" than purely on Feng Shui. 2. Usually, the rationale why a bedroom above a garage was considered inauspicious is much like the idea that it is inauspicious to have a bedroom above the kitchen. 3. For the kitchen; it was felt that the incidence or probability of a fire occuring in a kitchen is much higher than, say in other rooms. Thus the concern. 4. It is similar for the garage. Some people feel that if the garage is cluttered and at the same time, there is a `higher' probability of a fire occuring in the garage e.g. a vehicle (may one fine day catch fire?) 5. But look at it reali…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My bedroom is situated over the garage. This is more a common sense reasoning. It is often considered inauspicious, because usually the garage where the car is kept. As you know the car will have petrol, then when you do work, sometimes you keep the oil or flamable products in the garage. Soshould there be a fire, the bedroomif located on top will be the firsttobe affected. This is similiar to the kitchen. However, what is the probability of a fire starting in the garage, then compared to the kitchen. So this is not really as bad or as inauspicious. A pratical solution would just to install smoke detectors or sprinklers for safety. Anonymous …

Dear Greg, A warm welcome to you:) Currently, the reason why it is considered inauspicious to have a bedroom above a kitchen is more to do with `safety' than Feng Shui. The `worry' is that there is a remote chance of the kitchen catching fire as opposed to other locations. As fire `moves' upwards, most likely, the first room to be affected is the one above it. Other than the above reasoning, it is thus considered of `secondary' importance in Feng Shui. We should continue to find out the rationale for a specific reason i.e. auspicious or inauspicious as many a times, Feng Shui is based on commonsense:) More serious theories, such as Shapes and Forms and Flying Star are use…

Dear Elena, Thanks for your remarks. I do agree, totally with what you said:) I currently, have lots of caricatures on other `commonsense' approaches, but overwhelmed with the `time contraints' etc... Will `push' them out, ASAP.. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am considering a home that has bedrooms at the North end (death) and South end (irratation) of my "8 House Chart". I can move the bed around, but according to your report, these are unfavorable areas of the home to have a bedroom. What can I do? What do you recommend? Thanks

I know where you are coming from. In fact, Feng Shui is not a cure all. The key sucess factor of an already built up home is difficult to say: For example: a home is likecar. Some are lucky to have an unpolished gem and after a proper Feng Shui audit (e.g. wealth stars are at the good locations and these can be tapped). Unfortunately, some homes are like 13 year old run down 1,000 cc car. No matter how much one does to the home; one cannot pretend that after doing a Feng Shui audit the home becomes a mercedes benz or a bmw car. But honestly, the way you are trying to doing Feng Shui is like a "vicious cycle" as you are not even applying proper Flying Star (none at…
