Dear Anon, So long as the unit is not directly facing the frontage or the main entrance area of the Hindu temple; it is acceptable for the unit. For the two bedrooms; the test of whether there is sha qi or not is to stand at each of the bedroom windows. If the antenane seems to slice thru the window, then this is considered as a sha qi or poison arrow. Often there are two cures to this: 1. Reflective tinted glass Tinted glass or reflection from the glass is acceptable, here. 2. Day curtains or blinds Alternatively, one cou…

Dear Emily, Only if #8 is a Water star, can we best activate it. However, in your question, since #8 = base star, it will have to take on the characteristics of it's personal element i.e. this is suppose to be an auspicious earth element. And on it's own, using water is not a good idea. Since water is like having a "hole to drawn the mountain". Not the kind of idea to do so. In fact, under a Flying star chart, if there is e.g. a base #8 while one of the other stars is a #5, because of Period 8, the #8 is suppose to reign supreme or take precedence over only one #5 in the chart. But if there are two or more #5 with #8 in a sector, than, this may over power #8. For exa…

Hi, Basically, Feng Shui is not a religion, and therefore it has nothing to do with statues or “statue worship.” Feng Shui is both an art (Shapes and Form) and a science (Compass School: Eight House and Flying Star). For those who are not aware, the Dragon Horse and Dragon Turtle statues come from two stories about how Fu Xi, a Chinese emperor, discovered the Luo Shu grid. This grid is the mathematical formula used to derive the Flying Star base numbers, as well as the water and mountain stars. The URL for this story is: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/tortise.htm Similarly, the Flying Horse (Dragon Horse) comes from another story about a different pattern fo…

Hi there, I received from my mother a pakua mirror that she received from a friend of hers. I don't know the exact source of the mirror and it might be already used. I think I received it last year or maybe 2 years ago, can't remember exactly. The pakua mirror is for the exterior of the home and I never used it. I just wrapped it in paper and placed it in a cabinet and that's where it's been all this time. Now I want to dispose of it, because I'm not sure of its origin and don't want bad luck. What is the best way of disposing it? After disposal, should I do anything else inside the home? We are…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have just purchased a new flat and the concept of my theme is white and zen style. But I just happened to see that my unfavourable colour is green, brown and red. I have brought my bedroom set which is oak in colour and also the tile of my toilets comes with oak brown colour. Does that mean I have to re select the colours for all the furnitures and change the theme of my house? Is there any way I can still keep the the theme colour? Green/Brown=Wood, Red=Fire. Are you are a Strong Fire element? If so, then yes these colours make may your element too strong. However, you can also attempt to balance it by introducing a 3rd element. ie Earth…

Dear Vincent, Indeed, I can verify the accuracy of Lillian Too's statement. A Feng Shui foot is equivalent to an imperial foot. By utilizing this precise measurement of 43 cm or roughly 17 inches as the diagonal of a square, we arrive at what Mathematicians refer to as the 'Magic or golden square'. The Feng Shui foot recurs every 43 cm [or 17 inches.] I previously penned a brief piece on this subject, accessible at the following link: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm I trust this information proves beneficial.

Please note that for Geomancy.net and all it's various calculators; for user convenience; all your inputs of any dates of birth should be western date of births. Our system will automatically convert all dates of births into the Lunar dates. This is because many people, even many younger Chinese do not know their exact lunar birth-dates.

Dear Jenny, Actually, when we look at Feng Shui, you’ll notice that we never encourage putting all your hopes on just finding a so-called “wealth corner” or only focusing on enhancing wealth. This is because it’s not really possible, or easy, to pinpoint these factors using just one single theory. More often, you’ll see that we prefer to look for an overall solution that addresses the different problems you’re facing as a whole. We always stress the importance of achieving overall balance in every area of your life. This means that if there’s an issue with Feng Shui related to Shapes and Forms, we will look for a remedy for that. And when there is a problem…

In my opinion, it is best not to look at the facing direction on a "piece-meal" basis" only. Recently, I had posted a "checklist" of activities that is based on important Feng Shui concepts:- 1.1 For example, your home should also start with how and where the drainage of your home drains out of your home. In all homes, usually there are two or three drainage-out of your home that conveys Wealth and Power and Authority for those staying in the home. Other exits of drainage may lead to poverty etc... 1.2 In addition, an East facing home usually will be "bathed" by sunlight in the morning and the area behind can be affectd by afternoon sun. Considerations of the bedroom,…

Question: If for permanent place, it is advisable that we engage u to view onsite before buying correct ? Frankly, not compulsory. As there are some who do this, while others purchased, then consider a FS audit. Most people go in, feel good… and… well, that’s the majority of it, lol.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have purchased a new Chinese Money Frog to replace a damagedMoney Frog that was accidently dropped and got broken. Is there any Chinese protocol that I should follow for the proper disposal (or throwing away) of the old Money Frog? 1. Feng Shui items, including the Money Frog, are not believed to have real mystical powers. The Money Frog in particular is often seen as more of a marketing idea and is mainly used for decoration. 2. Because of this, these items don’t need any special rituals or formal steps when you’re done with them. They’re generally treated more like decorative art pieces. 3. If you’re concerned a…

Dear Ramaa, In my opinion, every location is a `wealth sector'. And it is important to know what is good or bad at this sector. If one uses Compass School (Flying Star) Feng Shui, each sector has three elements. And depending on a sector and location, we can either try to neutralise a sector (if it has bad stars) or enhance the sector. For example, if a sector has bad stars such as #5 or #2, then we try to neutralise these elements if they create an imbalance at that sector. If a double 7 is found at the main door. 7 represents metal. And since this is the frontage of the house; we can further enhance this metal sector by introducing e.g. a water feature say at the garde…

Edited by Robert: There is no promise as to whether Cecil will have time to review the condo that you have listed as he is extremely busy. Hi Cecil, I am a new member here and find this site extremely interesting. It provides a comfort zone to analyse when one faces related feng sui issues. Had read your review and some of your feedback about condominium at or around Flora Road - specifically Dahlia Park and so. Wonder if you have any review about the blocks at Estella Gardens TOP 1999, which is located at Flora Road as well. Would appreciate your view. What do you think about this Project in general? and anyparticular view on the blo…

Dear Judy, Thanks for the picture of the layout plan. 1. Yes, you can use an ordinary compass. 2. In the past, I had investigated many years back the `long houses' especially in parts of East Malaysia. These long houses, even when they were made of wood had unusual compass readings where the readings internally vary in different compartments. 3. I hope you don't mind if you can: 3.1 Go to a barren land or an open space near to your home. And take a compass reading perhaps from different areas. (Becareful of some open space as it may be littered with (hidden) such as thrown away metal etc... 3.2 Goto the different "compartment" and take the compass reading to check if the…

Further to what I had mentioned; in most industries a triage is important. In many instances; I mentioned A & E; where the french word Triage originated. For all modern vehicles; there is an ODB port; often located near to the dasboard. When a vehicles goes for servicing or troubleshooting; don't the Service engineer plug in and connect a laptop; to check for error codes? Without such a Triage how to determine exact problem?

I have a SW1 house that is facing an open field and a river. It was built before deeds were created, so likely around the late 1800's making it a period 1 house initially. An addition was added to the back sometime in the early to mid 1900's. When I moved in, I considered it to be a Period 8 house because they had renovated the entire house. Upon moving in, between 2021 and 2025 I have completely remodeled the house (moved the kitchen to NE1, added a sliding door to the back at N2, added a new roof, took out the floor down to the dirt in the back portion, took down a wall, remodeled the attic into a bedroom, painted everything, dug out the back of the house for better wat…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, one should not consider predecessor luck in Feng Shui. In the earlier message, what I mentioned was that Chinese do pay emphasis on where their forefathers are buried. But it is not correct to say that inheritance or holding back a home which once brought us luck is `predecessor'. I have also reinforced the notion that Feng Shui influence cannot be by `remote control'. If one manages to keep the previous house that brings one luck, most likely, the current house that one is staying is equally luckly to `allow' the owner to keep the previous house. One has to stay at the house to `enjoy' the luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil
