  1. Dear all,
Have any one read the book: Complete Idiot's Guide To Feng Shui (2nd
Edition)? What do you think about it?
I also want to know if Cecil's printed book has been released.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  2. Dear Cecil,
    br>
There are several versions of Void/Evil lines (Kong1 Wang2) ??`.
Some masters say that the 4 cardinal points - True North, East,
South, West (i.e., 0, 90, 180, 270 degree) are the worst Kong Wang,
    some masters disagree.
But what all masters agree are the 8 Kong Wang at the boundary of 8
    Gua4 (Trigrams):
    THE BAD EFFECT/SYMPTONS:
When you find that after moving into a house, you wish to proceed on,
you don't have the drive; When you wishes to retreat on a business
deal, you can't as you are too involved.
The other symptons include: stagnancy, dithering, undecidedness, lack
of drive, unemployed, and other like heavy and frequent quarrels
    between family members, sickness etc.
    The 8 Void/Evil lines are:
    337.5, 22.5, 67.5, 112.5, 157.5, 202.5, 247.5, 292.5
which are the intersection/boundary of the 8 trigrams.
Some masters say even +/- 3 degrees within the 8 Void lines are also
to be avoided at all costs.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Thanks in advance.

    Wasis

  3. Dear Cecil,
I understand that 8 Trigrams are too general. It is like finding the wealth
corner. The reason I asked you that matter because I am interested in a topic in
a fengshui show on a national TV. Once, the topic was water. Water as source of
life cannot be hampered. For example: well. If it is not used any longer, it
cannot be closed without ventilation nor heaped up. Then 2 audiences called. One
said has a closed and unused well in north west. The problems are pain around
waist and the breadwinner died recently. So, the master said North west = waist,
father. The remedies he suggested are installing non-stop lamp above the well or
a pipe so that the well can "breath."
Next, the other called in. She said has quarrel problem. The master said she
must have an unused well in East. That leads to family and throat problems such
as quarrel & slip-tongue. She agreed with him.
    Another example:
    Fire represents enthusiasm, energetic
too much fire in south = hyperactive
too less fire in south = surfeited
Thus he suggested not to place water in south
As far as I know, the remedies that master suggests are simple: mirror, non-stop
lamp, pipe, etc. He never asks to place figurines or something like Black Sect.
Just like you: fix the leaks first.
Do you agree with his method?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  4. Dear Cecil,
I found an interesting article from the internet:
"It is very important to understand where the energies on this Earth promote
us best. Also from the zi wei birth chart, we can find out what country,
what state, which city or region is strongest for us to do our business. For
example, depending on who you are and when your birth date/time is, Los
Angeles may not be the best place for you to establish your business, so no
matter how strong you promote it and how good the Feng Shui is, you may find
it hard to reach your full potential."
Does it mean that we need to know the birth cart of the place? In other
words, we have to know the true element of the place. If so, what kind of
    information is required?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  5. Dear Cecil,
I see in the Career Report that Banking, Finance, Investment are part of
metal element. However, it leaves me a question behind. Financial industry
has many products and its derivatives such as forward/future, spot, options,
bonds, margin, FX, stocks, commodity contracts. Some use paper and many
others use electronic data transfer. This is caused by Information
Technology so that we don't have to use real money. Transactions are like
flows of data. So, it is allowed if we can consider such financial products
    belong to water element?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  6. Dear Cecil,
For security reason, I plan to install a visitor chime. This appliance
generates voice when someone is entering a room (usually used in shops or
banks). The place I am going to install it is in North East. Is it safe -
considering it is not a windchime but still generates voice?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  7. Dear Cecil,
I'd like to ask you the human organs belonging to each trigram. For example:
Waist = North West, Throat = East.
I've heard that East can symbolize Family also. Is that correct?
Also, can you please mention the symbolization of each element? i.e.: Fire
    represents Energetic.
I am asking you this matter because I've heard that balance of five elements
in a particular sector can affect our health, family member and attitude.
For example, if we have too much water in south area we may feel surfeited
easily. On the other hand, too much fire means hyperactive.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  8. Dear Cecil,
Just now, my father eventually told me that he had not chosen a good date
when our family moved in to this house. As far as I remember, when I and my
mother were picked at the airport in 1985, we just knew that we had just
moved in. In this case our (I and my mother) move in date is different from
    my father's.
Suppose one moved to a new house on a bad date. What would happen?
And what should our family do then?
    Thanks in advance.

    Wasis

  9. Dear Cecil,

    1. The case of wet soil is akin to the article on underground water:-
    http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.htm
Do you have any remedies for the problem mentioned in the article?
    3. As for the hulu, often it is not in the form of a charm but rather
the actual hulu or bottle gourd. (A Search for `bottle gourd' should
also bring one to the article on hulu found on this website. This is
where, like the 1970's show "Genie in the bottle" or I love Genie.
it is like the hulu could `suck' in something e.g. sickness.)
It is not a hulu but a charm. Among local chinese population, we call it as HU -
yellow paper with red chinese characters to ward off bad luck. They're usually

    hanged above doors.
Also the practitioner asks us to eat vegetarian food on every 1st and 15th of
lunar month. And pray at a temple.

    Quote
In traditional Feng Shui, this is documented - for use. And not a
modern invention. No harm (can try) perhaps with the hulu charm.
But, do check how much you are suppose to be charged for it i.e.
how comfortable are you paying for it. If it costs a bomb! than try
to see if you can get physical hulu's or dried out hulu and hang it
e.g. on the bed leg etc...
Well, the good news is one local radio station will cover the costs. :)
    Thanks in advance.

  10. Dear Cecil,
My house is devided into 3 areas: main area (guest room, bedrooms, dining
room & living room), garage area and kitchen area (kitchen, laundry,
storage). The kitchen area is behind the main area and the garage is beside
    the main area.
The height of the roof of the kitchen area is lower than main area's. In
other words, front is higher than back. I have heard that back should be
higher than front otherwise one will suffer financial problem. The remedies
    are:
    a. make the back roof higher than front roof (major renovation)
    b. install a post at the back so that the back is higher than front
So, I plan to move my antenna pole to the back. However, a new problem
occurs. It is said inauspicious to have a lone post in the back area (1/3
portion of the whole area) because occupants can easily be deceived and
suffer mental disorder. Do you think attaching the antenna pole the back
wall (make the pole as part of the wall) will be ok?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis

  11. Dear Cecil,
A local practitioner says that the soil in my house is too wet. This leeds
to feel dizzy, pain around the waist, easily got flu and maids cannot work
longer. We think his comment is true considering what have happened to us.
Then, he suggests to hang some "Hu" (charms). If we agree, he will make some
    for us.
Do you think his remedy is acceptable? Do you have any idea about other
    remedy?
    Thanks in advance.

  12. Dear Cecil,
I just generated Flying Star reports. It is surprising 2003 Flying Star
report suggests to use metal cures in all 9 sectors. And 20 year Flying Star
report suggests to use metal cures in 6 sectors. Do you think I still have
to use them in all 9 sectors, provided the breadwinner's element is strong
    water?
    Thanks in advance.

    5. I honestly believe that (correct me if I am wrong) is that unlike
a clock; perhaps this one needs a faster change of batteries? If it
constantly needs a battery change, then, it is not economical to use.
The traditional metronome doesn't need any battery. It is only a pendulum.
    7. I personally think that it could perhaps make a much louder sound
than say a grand father clock? Is this true? If so, can this `noise' filter
into the bedroom or even study room? Creating a `disturbance'
especially in the dead of the night?
    Yes, this is the disadvantage.

FYI, the famous pendulum clock maker is Junghans, but expensive.

  14. Hi,
Have you heard about Metronome? It helps pianists to practice the tempo. It has
a pendulum inside the case and generates metal sound "tick tock". You can see
    the picture at http://store3.yimg.com/I/catamuse_1728_5347407
There are many kinds of metronome such as pocket size. Mine is traditional one
with metal pendulum inside (just like the picture on the URL). The frequency can
    be set.
Can be it used as a metal cure?
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Ceci,
Yes, nowadays, many of such clocks such as the Seiko, Citizen, Hosenki brands
use a plastic decorative pendulum that is spray painted `gold'.
Given that some of these makes sound, Ipersonally feel that these type of
`pendulum' clocks and the slient ones that makes noice are not really
appropriate. Can consider them as decorative items. For the `cuckoo type' of
clock; more is need to understand if they can help especially to neutralise bad
yellow earth #5 or a combintions of it with other bad earth.

    Dear Robin,
    1. The best approach is to try to find a company logo that fits the owner (if
it is a self-proprietory) and if say there are two partners, then it is
preferred that a logo can match or harmonise both partner's ba zi.
    2. The above is preferred over the definition of elements or colours based on
one's business model. This second paragraph can be considered : NICE TO HAVE.
But not necessary as important as the first (under 1st paragraph).

  16. Hi all,
Well, I think we should consider one thing before we hang a windchime. NE is
devil's gate. SW is devil's backdoor.
I'd like to ask Cecil. In my flying star report, the recommended cures for #2 &
#5 are mostly wood. Whereas you usually recommend metal in this forum. The
breadwinner's element is strong water. Do you take account of this factor too?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, an upside down Fu character is equally commonly used
in some Chinese homes and business. These are equally
widely used by overseas Chinese in the Far East e.g.
    Singapore, Malaysia and HongKong.
    May I know the purpose?

Yes, if we are going to introduce metal to neutralise a sector or
enhance a water feature with metal; then it is indeed a good
method to use such an electronic windchime.
A heavy windchime for show that does not make sound may be
considered ineffective. Since it does not make constant metal
sounds especially to neutralise bad earth #5 or multiples of #5
    or #5 with #2 or with #3 and #4.
Good luck in your production. If your wind chime is available,
    do let us know:)
Sorry but you were mistaken. I don't produce any but I saw a company promoted
that product during the exhibition. In fact, I don't receive any commision from
    them. :)

  18. Dear Cecil,
I just came back from Hong Kong and China. I would like to share my observation during my journey.
    1. The trend in Hong Kong now is wearing a crystal bracelet. Or one could wear more than one. Black crystal is said to bring luck/fortune whereas yellow one to counterfeit bad luck. Those bracelets cannot be touched by anyone else except the owners. And before a seller hand over one to a buyer, he/she must say a mantra (or pray, I'm not sure). When I asked my cousin how to differ that kind of crystal among other common crystal, she said that kind of crystal has some "eyes" inside. The price is more than HK$ 100 depending on the size. I have seen a man wearing one with the size of each crystal is bigger than marble. My cousin said it was recommended by a fengshui practitioner.
    2. There is one more product, crystal cave. It is said to capture fortune. The price could be more than HK$ 16000. I'll find the picture on the internet. It can be easily found at many crystal shops.
    3. In Beijing and Guangzhou, many banks place a pair of male common lions made of brown fiberglass, instead of stone Chinese Lions. At the CCTV Tower, they place a pair of dragons.
    4. Some restaurants attach capsized "fuk" character on their windows. This kind of character is copied from Prince Gong's Palace.
    5. Many hotels in Beijing use semi-circular design such way like to retain wealth. For example: Grand Hyatt, Sheraton, Swissotel.
    6. When I attended electronicAsia exhibition, I saw an interesting product: electronic windchimes. No need to worry about no wind because it generates virtual wind. But the company doesn't produce 6 rod windchimes yet. I already suggested to produce that one.
Could you please make some comments based on my observation?
    Regards,
    Wasis

  19. Dear Cecil,
After reading your article: Interpreting Intangible Forces and considering the breadwinner's Gua number is 8, I made new arrangements of my furnitures. In living room, I switched Freezer & Refrigerator to desk's position, and vise versa (NE and E sectors). In my room (SW sector), I switched computer desk and wardobe. Please see before.jpg for the previous positions. I did it because the electronics appliances were on NE and SW lines. You may see the current positions at after.jpg.
We don't find any problems (so far) with the arrangement in living room. In fact, we feel we get more clear space. The problem is in the SW bedroom. I feel I get less clear space there. It looks as if too many furnitures in the room and looks messy. In addition, if one enters the room, one can looks many messy computer & power cords very clearly. Please notice there is a wardobe on the left of the computer desk. If one sits in front of the computer desk, one will feel entrapped. Also, the sharp corner of the desk is pointing at the bed (red arrow).
In your opinion, what should I do then? Rearrange back to the previous position or still using the current one?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Wasis
