  1. Please refer to my previous illustration: where standing at A senario. If it does not match what was mentioned previously, then......
  2. These are some of the considerations: 1. The overall concept of placing the flutes or two flutes has more to do with SYMBOLISM in Feng Shui than anything else. 2. When it comes to symbolism; there is no hard or fast rule. 3. For example, it is not like studying to become a real life doctor of medicine. Here, a doctor must have an exact understanding of say where all the internal organs and veins in a person. 4. Symbolism in Feng Shui can be wide ranging and subject to lots of various interpretations. So long as it sounds reasonable, it can be used. 5. Thus the most common method of placing flutes especially a pair of flutes is shown under this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=11871&new=) 6. What you mentioned, whether the mouth piece should be up or down differs greatly from many people. 7. Frankly, para 6 does NOT matter! As I had mentioned, there are even more concepts like buying a SET of Dragon and Phoenix flute. So, here again, there can be an issue of should I place dragon left or right of the phoenix. The placement of the dragon and phoenix flute: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=13759&new=) 8. Again, IT DOES NOT MATTER! 9. What matters is symbolism in Feng Shui. The rationale for slanting the flutes is to symbolise a Ba Gua profile or outline! 10. Please see attachment. Feng Shui is not like medical science. Under Feng Shui, a person's heart, lung and even intestine can be all over the body.. and it is still absolutely OK! 11. The morale of the story, here is: If one wants to apply Feng Shui; don't study anatomy!
  3. 1. Frankly, the picture can't really tell anything as it is taken at angle and not a view directly standing e.g. as shown in the attachment marking in red "A" looking out towards "B". 2. Roughly, if the railway tracks is running parallel to your apartment block; this is acceptable or no major issue. 3. As there is a power line tower; this can pose as a sha qi or poison arrow. For example, if any of these power line towers slices into your apartment window or balcony opening; then this is a sha qi. Here, please see attachment. 4. The other concern is often "noise pollution". And some people may be affected by noisy train movements. This is not Feng Shui but does have an impact of Human or Man Luck factors. And even for children who may need concentration in their studies.
  4. In my opinion, 99.99 percent of all Shapes and Forms Feng Shui can be related to "commonsense". Ranging from toilets, bedrooms etc... Thus, if it has no basis in commonsense, then most likely it is hocus pocus and not Feng Shui. One major technique of Shapes and Forms is QI. And it is very useful to use our imagination especially to see how qi moves, meander - flows.
  5. These are some considerations:- 1. Your question is too (too) general. 2. For example, see attachment. There is a difference if your home's frontage is at B, C, D or E. 3. Other considerations include how the water drains from the home out of the home premises. 4. Any water position e.g. large canal behind the home or if the home is facing a T-junction etc... 5. There are frankly too many unanswered questions. 6. Equally important is the top-view or helicopter view of outline of the whole house and whether the home is squarish /rectagular or same trapeezoid outline of walls. 7. Frankly, in such a "state"; might as well flip a coin: Heads (auspicious) Tails (inauspicious) or vice-versa = anybody's guess. Claudine E. wrote: Hi I am looking at a property which is on land shaped as a right-angled trapeezoid. (see attached) The front of the property is the non-pointed part and the back is the point. Is this classified as a trapezoid or a triangle lot and is it too difficult to remedy? There are many such properties in my area. Thank you, Claudine
  6. 1. Since I believe she (could) be in Malaysia; it is worth considering getting expert help i.e. from a Geomancer in your country. 2. As frankly, short description(s) like what you had mentioned; is difficult to evaluate upon the limited information given. As it is also looking at whether the river is parallel to; curved in or outwards; which direction the water flows in relation to her new home. 3. Usually, there is another element: especially for older homes close to a river is the concern of white termites - this is controllable and not Feng Shui.
  7. 1. Since this is a home office, you can treat the home office sector within the home's Flying Star Chart - especially since it is not a large area. 2. Thus, you can super-impose the Flying Star (pie chart or 9 grid) and determine the sector star influences within that sector based on the actual home's facing direction. 3. You can also apply the Eight House concept to see if you are able to sit facing a good direction especially: "Prosperity" and/or "Excellent" sector. Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, I would also like to know if you do onsite consulting for clients outside of your country. With thanks. 4. The link for our International consultancy is within this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/offsite-consultation.htm (Off-site. For on-site, a special quote is needed).
  8. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Attached please find an illustration. 2. I have already marked the centrepoint of your home. And you can use this as the basis of a Flying Star PIE chart to chart out the various sectors. Note: PIE chart is easier than the 9 grid in such a layout plan. 3. Based on your description, the side facing the riverlet should not be considered as the facing direction of the home, since the living areas is bounded by both the garage and the kitchen and that there are also the stairs and wash area, here. 4. For the purpose of drawing a Flying Star chart; the potential facing directions are either:marked in RED; A or B or C. 5. For those who had stayed in a home for quite sometime could try to map out the flying stars under facing direction A 343 degrees &/or B 30 &/or C 70 and see which chart matches the "history" of the home. 6. In your situation, the most likely (1st choice) facing direction is marking in red: A. And because of the slight slant in your home; another 2nd choice is marking B. While marking C is the breath of the house vs the length; there is a higher weightage : or the most yang or the most windows or surface area at marking A or B.
  9. Although South facing (Flying Star Period 8 South 2) has overall good Feng Shui, however, many units facing south would be affected by "Fire-at-Heaven's gate". For example, just take note of this unit confirguration. Where the balcony faces South and the stove is directly on the NW compass direction. Thus this unit suffers from "Fire at Heaven's gate". Many of such units are dotted within the ClementiWood's condominium. Will may have a bearing in the male breadwinner's career as well as 'no luck - from heaven'.
  10. ClementiWoods (Clementi Woods) condo is in the final touch-up... TOP pretty.. soon!
  11. Further to what I had mentioned: 1. The country is a Right-Hand Drive or RHD country. 2. Again, just imagine an out of control Toyota Pirus or Lexus SUV.... Source: Four Dead Due to Toyota Stuck Accelerator Pedal - autoevolution or Memo Reveals Tragic Details Of Stuck Pedal Lexus Crash (Pics 3. House No. 1's important structures are away from the direct path of the T-junction. Thus if the car ploughs in a straight line; it does not "affect" any major structure of the home other than maybe the main gate; the drive-way and or garage.
  12. Heard this recent converstation at the Toyota dealership:- Tom (Potential semi-luxury car purchaser) : "I like the drive of this Toyota Camry" Eager salesman: "Yes, this is a semi-luxury car that will fit your bill. Why semi-luxury? This is because; this is one level below our Lexus luxury cars". Tom: "How reliable is it? Will I get the same problem as those American ones where it may bring up the average risks of a car ploughing into my house in a "T-junction" Eager salesman: "This car is so well built that now; even Singapore Comfort Delgro is considering this model as their replacement taxi as they found that the Hundai Sonata's are not that reliable" Tom: "This is bad news! Currently already one taxi company already uses this model! And if Comfort Delgro distributes this to their taxi drivers... I won't want to drive this model" Eager salesman: "Oh! -- tongue tied ... feeling down and out" Tom: " Futhermore, you know, I am a Chinese Hokkien. And I won't want to be caught dead in a CAMRY!" Eager salesman: "Feeling even more depressed...asked: WHY SIR?" Tom: "For us Hokkiens - CAMRY means " Kiam Lui " = OWE MONEY in hokkien". Tom: "Fine for taxi drivers since every day before they start their shift; they already owe money; thus this CAMRY car is a perfect fit" Eager salesman: "OIC! Would you want to consider our SUV instead.." Tom: "I don't want to die young, especially flipped upside down or die like that in your SUV! Go read the newspaper or reviews!" Eager salesman: "Why don't you consider our unique MARK "X" instead?" Tom: "For Camry, at leastit is only "owe money". For mark X; I don't want to be marked for life and further; we Chinese feel that X is inauspicious!" Choy...
  13. 1. Suunto only replaces your luck when using their instruments. 2. Feng Shui is about Earth Luck or luck from home or office. 3. What about Geomancy? 3.1 In the past e.g. 1960s to early 1980's; ageomancer cannot survive just by Feng Shui alone. 3.2 Thus in order to survive, a geomancy musthave services that encompass the life cycle of ahuman being:- 3.3When a child is born; parents or grand parents seek the service of a Geomancer to advice on a name fo the new born. 3.4 Chinese astrology services to predict the life of the new born or those who seek such advice 3.5 Feng Shui for those in need of a good home or office. 3.6 Finally, Feng Shui for the dead: a good burial site. 4. Thusmany yearsback most or all Geomancy company has the word "Geomancy" in their name. And not "Feng Shui". 5. You now know why; we choose to use the domainname: Geomancy.net instead of things like Feng Shui.xxx
  14. Suunto (the maker of good quality compass instruments) believe in replacing luck - if one uses their instrument. Feng Shui on the other-hand in some ways is like trying to squeeze out as much luck! We can thus say that the common denominator of both is : luck. Fortrue christians, however; the pastor would often say: "Trust God, not luck!" For most taxi drivers (in Singapore) would often say: "Hope I am lucky today!"
  15. 1. Frankly, what you had mentioned; is beyond the scope of this General Advice Forum. 2. Either you have to Do it yourself (DIY) or seek expert help. 3. As for DIY, like everyone else; there are lots of concepts to both digest and make use of. And often, it is an uphill task. 4. Under the Holy Trinity of Luck:- 4.1. Heaven Luck = born with 4.2. Earth Luck = Feng Shui of the home and/or office 4.3. Human or man luck = relationship with family members, family support etc.. 5. Feng Shui is not a cure all. And even within Feng Shui: there are things like Shapes and Forms, Flying Star and even ba zi of bread winners in relation to the home etc... 16. 1. These are some of the resources on the Salt water "cure":- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=7&mid=14743&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=12257&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=3&mid=24740&new= 2. In general, the main purpose of the salt water WITH water WITH coins is to create a chemical reaction much like an ancient way of "producing" negative ions. 3. Usually this cure is meant where there is or are very serious sickness stars or sickness star combinations where #5 are involved (be it for the year or the 20 year flying star) Sometimes if there are any of these three combinations of #5 misfortune or sickness and/or #2 sickness and/or #9 fire to fuel it; this is one of the cure. 4. In modern times, the proven cure is the use of such things as hepa air cleaner with ioniser etc... Ronald R. wrote: i remember last time, my previous FSM asked me to buy his glass and some coins to put inside as well and only need to change the contents after 3mths. placed at south-west. 5. Yes, if the purpose is to create negative ions, then coins must be used. 6. Changing the contents after every 3mths depends on the acidity, how often water is topped up and even the quality of the coins. As most of these coins are "fake coins" and the content of bronze or copper differs greatly. In general, 3 months is a fair time to change - visually, such as the coins are badly corroded...etc.. 7. You should clarify with your new FSM what is his rationale. As I mentioned earlier; logically, if one wants to create "activity" salt (acidity) with copper (and other metals) and water has a chemical reaction. While salt (acidity) with water in a neutral glass jar = ??? question mark. 8. Yes, in-fact, this is the first time I come across what you had mentioned also on this thing of "missing the coins".
  17. 1. I belong to the old school where all my cars must be installed with:- 1.1. Mud-guard for both front and rear of the car 1.2. Side mouldings to protect the body of the car 2. My wish? 2.1. How I wish all car parks are installed with friendly "Parking Blocks or Wheel Stops". 2.2. My wish came thru when I went for a Feng Shui audit at the Fontaine Parry condominium at Poh Huat Road. 3. The developer installed a "mud-guard" friendly "parking block or wheel stop". 3.1. Such that even if I were to roll my car wheels touching the parking block, my car's mud-guard does not scrape the "parking block". 4. Any way, this is only a dream as unfortunately, I don't visit this development often as I don't stay there. 5. Frankly, I have no relation to the company advertised on the parking block. But I repeat; I do love this "mud-guard" friendly parking block(s). 6. In fact, more people should install mud guard(s) to their car. As it is both friendly to your own car as mud or debris is kept to the minimium spewing to the car body and the bottom of the car. 7. In fact, the rear mud-guard serves a useful purpose especially on highways as just imagine; as following behind such a car can save you from rocks hitting your car's bonnet or body...
  18. Varsity Park Condominium is a relatively large condominium. There are lots of winding paths... in this condo. Perhaps, the developer has decided to make it difficult for "spirits" to meander in the condo parks. (As the idea is that spirits are suppose to move in a straight line and not follow a winding path!)
  19. The red-line on these photos shows clearly the winding path...
  20. 1. This is a "simple" test of whether a home is considered "attacked" at a T-Junction. 2. Please see attachments:- 2.1. Attachment 1: 2.1.1 Attachment 1 shows House 1 and House 2. 2.1.2 In addition, the next question asked is which country are we in? For Commonwealth countries like: Singapore, Malaysia, England, Australia, cars are all RIGHT-HAND DRIVE. 2.1.3 The simple test is just imagine an unfortunate accident occurs where a runaway Toyota car runs amok and ploughs a straight path from marking in RED A to B. If there is an opening such as a main door or windows, then it is considered a threat (T-junction threat) towards the home. 2.1.4 For a Right-handed drive country, HOUSE 1 would be affected by the T-junction. 3. What happens if the runaway Toyota (whatever model) car ploughs a house but ends up into a void; then this is not considered a house "attacked" by a T-junction. 4. Hopefully, I got the illustration correct for Iluustration 2: a country with cars on the left-hand drive. In such a situation; House 2 may or could be the home "attacked" by the T-junction.
  21. These are some considerations: 1.Left-hand or Right-Hand drive (country). If your country is of the Left-hand drive, then definitely it is not considered at a T-Junction. Even if the road is of the Right-hand drive; based on the top-view, hardly if ever any "car" could plough into the home. For a home at a T-junction, the best way to visualise is when weare driving a car and leave the steering in a straight-line; where would the car hit?Ina Left-hand drive, I forsee no issue. 2. Thus, in my opinion, there is no concern, here. 3. In fact, there are worse off situations. For example, take a glimpse at this Malaysian Johor Bahru project. Some units are directlyfacing a T-junction some; where the windows may face it. And as Malaysia is a "Right-handed"(car) country, cars are on the left side and we use this to imagine the routethe car travels (in a straight) line..

These are some interesting links on the reversal of the earth's magnetic field. Although it may not happen sometime in the near future, at least... one day... when it happens; for Feng Shui practitioners (if earth still exists); Will have to first depend on the Shapes and Forms.. while a wide ranging debate much "worse" than the one that had happened in the 1990's where some AustralianGeomancers had the "wrong" idea that Flying star charts should be reversed just becauseof the experiment of "draining" the sink and water vortex is directly opposite that of the northern hemisphere... http://www.geomag.bgs.ac.uk/reversals.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomagnetic_reversal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth's_magnetic_field

These are additional academic considerations:- 1. In the past, when a site was chosen be it to build a new city or ancestral tomb for the Ming and Ching emperors; and even the use of the pagoda to tame underground water. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui is used. And not Flying Star. 2. Even today, when I work on vast amounts of hectares of new towns for an developingAsean country, Shapes and Forms is the main consideration i.e. the flow of the river(s) and construction of new roads and future subways etc.. 3. The idea is that if the Shapes and Forms is poor; imagine applying Flying Star to say the four walls of a building is just like trying to squeeze as much luck as possible. Worse; even if one pathe the four walls in gold; and outside is crumbling.. what is the chance of a recovery or breakeven senario? 4. Although Flying Star is based on timely stars; how often can we demolish an entire city ... the only time mankind did it was in 2nd world war.. where Germany got flatten... and rebuilt. And as we all know: two atomic bombs flatten the two cities in Japan. Only in such a situation... we can start from scratch. Else many buildings and roads are pretty much the same. 5. Scientist have actually studied the polarity of the earth magnetic field. And from core samples; they had found that the magnetic North-South had flipped many times in the past 4 billion years. 6. The current good news is that within your lifetime and mine, it is not about to change as yet. But if I am not mistaken 10,000 years. would be a possible change. 7. As Flying Star and Eight House is based on one and the same Compass School of Feng Shui... it would mean going back to the drawing board for those who may be practising Feng Shui 10,000 years from now. 8. Or if the human kind is still in existence then. Hopefully, there are less Black Feng Shui being practised. In Singapore, black Feng Shui is often practised by "foreign talent" Geomancers who have nothing to lose but all the more to gain for their "employees" by suggesting buildings that use "black Feng Shui". For example, there are several of such buildings within the Central Business District of Singapore.
  24. These are the considerations for the placement of a cannon:- 1. First ingredient is that if or where ever possible; it should be placed outside of the home and facing away from the home. 2. Usually, it is placed as both a defensive and offensive nature. In a defensive situation; it is placed facing directly towards a sha qi. 3. As a last resort, it could be placed in the home. BUT, usually, if possible placed on a higher ground e.g. on a cabinet + must be facing outwards e.g. of or thru a window. 4. It can be placed facing a T-junction; thick tree trunk, power structures, neighbouring development construction crane, mrt tracks if it slices thru the home. 5. Frankly, do take extra care when placing one too many of such cannons especially if the facing building DOES NOT pose a (physical brick and mortar)threat to your home. 6. Some homes do not have a fence. If so, it can be placed on the ground. But if a fence or if there is some kind of an obstruction; then it is mounted at the highest point: 7. The Hong Kong Shanghai Bank (HSBC) building in Hong Kong 8. In the past, Feng Shui principles was used to determine a good site for the HSBC building. In general, the idea was that the HSBC building must have a direct view of the sea. 8.1. When the Bank of China - Hong Kong building was built; it was felt that this building is symbolic of a sword slicing towards the HSBC building. 8.2. HSBC building decided to place a pair of cannons facing towards Bank of China building. 9. Thus actually, the cannons were used as a defence both to neutralise the Bank of China building and "create" a blocked view of the Victoria harbour.
