  1. Dear Yumeko, Assuming that one is weak water and weak earth. You can use the Compatibility report at www.geomancy-online.com to look at the binding element for a weak water and weak earth person. For these two persons - the proposed binding element would be two elements. In locations in the house in particular: your bedroom and living room area; you can enhance the bedroom with the binding elements. For example: since a weak water and weak earth person would need two binding elements then: a combination of enhancement can be:- - paint the walls in one of the binding element colour. And e.g. for the wardrope use the second binding element. Or instead, use the appropriate colour e.g. for the bedsheet or curtains. For the living room, the interplay of the above i.e. painting of walls / furniture cabinet can be used in the same manner to further increase the binding element. One interesting thing with binding elements is:- 1. usually if one binding element is recommended between the two couples : e.g. water element - then, usually, the pairing is considered an auspicious paring based on Ba zi (Pillars of destiny). 2. when two binding elements are recommended, then usually the couples are considered not as compatible under Ba Zi. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Marie, Usually, more importantly, the people who will missed one's loved one. And it is more of the love. Locally, it is a tradition, for some to even buy an altar (if the home does not have one) or not necessarily an altar but a specific table to place one' loved one (urn). And where possible:- 1. This should not be placed on the opposite wall of a toilet 2. If possible, the table (or generally we call it the altar table) should not be facing into a bedroom. Otherwise, a good location is around the living room / family room area. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Hoa Luong, Personal relationships can be strong. And binding element e.g. in the home may not be able to help much. In your boyfriend's case, try to enhance personal self e.g. wear more green or brown colours. And for yourself, you can reduce your water e.g. wearing red. This should help abit. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Niap Vun, One may have to weigh one's priorty here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Catherine, 1. Overall, the concept of condominiums is considered by standards "pretty new". 2. The earliest adoption of pools in estates can be derived more from hotels. And in Singapore, this is only become popular (due to affluence) in the last 20 years. 3. Therefore, there are not much case studies to say for sure whether, the effects of a water position that you mentioned in a high rise may or may not lead to `roving eye'. I.e. frankly, we cannot say for sure if this is going to happen (in majority of the cases). As no one has fully looked at this situation. And as we are all aware, as relationships are private nature, no one would be willing to share their experience on this subject. 4. In my opinion, I cannot therefore say for sure if it may lead to `roving eye' in a high rise apartment. 5. With regards to the placement of a Ba gua, it is usually meant for either deflecting sha qi (poison arrows) or some use it to protect against evil. 6. If you feel comfortable and if your bf does not mind, it is relatively acceptable to place a Ba Gua mirror facing outwards. But not facing inwards of the unit even if the water position is not seen in the unit. 7. As I mentioned earlier, there is not much information on the `roving eye' problem associated in a high rise. Thus, honestly, it may or may not be true. Let's hope not. Until such time where, there is more information in relation to this area. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear David, In Ba Zi, the chief concern is on one's true element and strength. As this is determined from Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zi) in relation to the relationship of all other elements and the season in which you were born. Thus, even if there is zero water element in one's Ba Zi, water does not equate the life `threatening' senario where we must have water to survive. Water is like any other components such as fire. Thus, in a senario where one has zero fire, it does not mean that we need to "go near" fire. Or eat `fiery' food or food considered as Yang or too much fried food stuffs. Esentially, if you are considered as a "weak fire" person, then wood is considered the main ingredient for a weak fire person. Thus, wood e.g. green or brown can help a weak fire person `grow' stronger. Note: The Five Elements concept is about balance: Weak? Thus, if one is weak, one should try to strenghten it. Favourable elements are: wood and next favourable element is fire. It is more important to add wood to fire. While adding fire to fire is considered average. Url on 5 elements concept: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm (The Productive cycle is used here) Once, one has wood to help fire, one can still have water e.g. blue. And one should not avoid it like the plague. Overall, it would then become a complete cycle if one uses all five elements. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear TB, Usually, the cure depends on the three element combination of the #mountain with #water and the base number. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Diane, In Chinese (dialect group - Cantonese) the numeral `Eight' sounds like " Fatt " which means "Prosper". This is most likely the reason why some people sell it as a string of 8 Chinese coins. For a Feng Shui cure, it is advised that the two extra coins be removed. Else the cure is not effective. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. This word documentation lists out steps with pictures on : Finding or estimating the compass direction of the main door direction of an uncompleted house or apartment. The objective of this document is: How to find or estimate the main door direction from a typical layout plan from a property sales brochure. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee
  10. Dear Patricia, The best on can do here is to use plants/bushes along the fence to screen from the neighbour. Plants are the best resort in this situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Angelica, 1. Yes, it is a common occurence to place two tiger statues with mouths wide open on each side of the main entrance door mainly for protection. 2. Try to add a red ribbon on the neck of each of the tiger statues. 3. Basically, the tiger statue e.g. white or gold represents the Metal element. 4. And the red ribbon helps to control the tiger. Usually, a pearl is added to the centre of the ribbon. 5. On another issue of `wealth' as opposed to protection:- For a north facing entrance, it is particularly auspicious to use the two tiger statues (white or gold). As metal is auspicious for this sector. Thus metal, helps water to grow. Thus an auspicious combination. And the red ribbon on each tiger is good to still bind it. The pearl is more as means of decoration. 6. For a south facing entrance, usually, Green coloured tigers are used here. As green represents wood element. And Since south represents fire, wood and fire combination is good. 7. For protection using Tiger statues: AVOID using two white tigers at South for protection. The rationale is that Fire will destroy Metal i.e. the two white tigers. Turning them into poor little `pussy' cats or kittens. Without any bite. This is even worse-off if it happens that one has a neighbouring shop facing this shop entrance at the South. The neighbour hangs a red cloth over their sign board. This red will neutralise and `melt' the poor pussy cats, further. 8. In fact, in some of Ba Gua mirrors, the two tigers are used in conjuction with a mouth in each of the tigers. In fact, I had posted a pair of golden tiger samples with a sword in their mouth. Under the conference: Photo Tours of Interest - the pictures included in one of the Part .. of the types of Ba gua mirror used. 9. So long as the tiger is not within or facing into the house or shop, there is no issue with the pair of white tigers. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Patrick, 1. Imagine luck as the reception of wealth. And one good visual example is to clasp one's two hands together. Here, if the house is on the `pan' or on the palm, this is good. 2. Thus, if one can visualise the above, a house below road level may not necessarily be bad. On the contrary, if there is excellent drainage, not too deep or angled depth, it can be a good house. 3. However, it has to depend on a case-by-case basis. But, the noticable sign is that your home is not alone in the neigbhourhood. And there are many homes within your estate. 4. If there are many of such homes within the vicinity of your house and they are in "good repair", then, it is a good sign. 5. Wealth of a property does not necessarily mean that a house has to be on an elevated ground. Here, in many cases, imagine water, flowing down and unable to be retained in the area. 6. One looks at a lower level place as a slightly more `yin' location where usually if it is not over populated with concrete, is a rich fertile ground for insects. This is overall, a much preferred piece of land. Please note that the above is just a general description and each site differs. The above should not be construed as a common answer for such sites. For example, some sites can be good but, without good government infrastructure e.g. drainage, it can be the reverse situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil.
  13. Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, where the kitchen door face the front door, it is good not to expose cutlery e.g. forks or knifes (if there is a kitchen table top) facing the door. Otherwise, there is not much one can do here. A stove can still face the refrigerator. However, hopefully, this is not the north part of the house or the kitchen is not at the north compass direction. Where, fire element is quite weak. Overall, such a senario you mentioned: cannot be undone unless there is a renovation involved i.e. there is no `magic' involved unless there is physical renovations involved here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Everyone, Enclosed please find a word document file with some pictures on a typical House Warming Ritual.
  15. Dear Yang Ming, You can follow the method suggested under this URL:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm Once you had taken the North to South / East to West (basically the four walls) of the house, you can with the use of a protractor; (need to purchase an inexpensive one) and find the direction of the door. Since the deviation is 15 degrees interval, this should be not difficult in a house. Please go thru the attached URL closely. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  19. Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it would be better to `fix' the leak. 2. Overall, using a metal windchime or metal at sectors are relatively safe: a. In past forum messages, I mentioned that metal element is a common cure for most of the Flying Star ailments. b. Therefore, there is relatively no harm using it. The only repercussion of using a windchime wrongly is or the result is problems related to sleep. It is felt that playful imps may give us nightmare and for those who cannot sleep properly afterwards, should remove them. 3. Even if North West is considered a good sector, windchime does not automatically become a good candidate. Usually, it has to be analysed within a sector. And if it benefits thru a flow of the Five elements concept, this is good. 4. For example, if a house has a double 7's at the main door. (Other than the base no.). Assuming that this is good; 7 represents metal element and water is good to have at the main entrance area. Thus, an analysis of such - resulting in placement of a water-postion, can bring beneificial results. 5. But, otherwise, what you may have considered is just a guessing game. Again, this is relatively safe. 6. I strongly believe that if there is a perceived problem of the home, it is best to look for `leaks' rather than to add enhancements. Such enhancements would usually be `exhausted' by leaks. 7. For a start, stand at the main door and look out for threats to the entrance. And at each window - look out for threats. Even if there are no threats here, one should still do so. 8. I believe, a holistic approach, or systematic use of the various tools; would be useful. This is a better approach rather than running in circles.. and one may inadvertently be trapped in a vicious cycle. And a year, two years or more, one may not know what was really wrong. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Niap Vun, Please see below:- The above is a stand method to usher in good luck to an office in the `Traditional' method. I am aware that not many people may want to practise the above especially if the office is situated in an open area (no privacy). And it can be rather inconvenient. Frankly, this is the only method. It is not possible to elaborate on Shapes & Form in a single message. But you may have to read more about it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Hoa Luong, Thank you for the information. Please see below:- You should instead bring the 6-coin tied with red string and hang it in your mother's room instead. The windchime can either be brass or aluminium hollow rods (with wood clinger). This is still ok. For the windchime, it has to preferably be hung outside the room. As inside the room, there is relatively no wind and it would not be useful. However, you can use the 6-coin only. But if you are using the wind chime, it is best, as mentioned above, hung outside of the room. In such a situation, for this year you can still leave the 6-coins in the room. Only after the Year of the Horse, you should take down the windchime. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Niap Vun, 1. The concept of Feng Shui in the macro level is all about trying to `receive wealth'. 2. Overall, curcial thing about the prosperity for office/business is the locality. 3. Since you already have chosen an office location, it is good to favour Shapes and Form Feng Shui or give this priority. In an office environment, if `permitted' can may tilt the table if the tilting is not that drastic to a more favourable sitting direction. 4. Locally, it is very common for businessmen to consult a FS practitioner to `tilt' their tables to a favourable direciton - provided, the angle of tilt is as mentioned above not too drastic (an angle). There was once even a CEO was very angry with his staff - who allowed a telecoms personnel to shift his table! Perhaps, they were trying to reach a socket or plug. He paid so much for the FS practitioner's service and now..... 5. The tilting of the table is based on the Eight House Theory. And anyone here can do the same if you have a proper compass. And if the tilting is not too acute an angle - that makes the room become a space constraint. 5. The next best thing you can do is:- 5.1 Select an auspicious date & time for the Office Warming Day. 5.2 On this day, make sure that all windows, ventilation must be covered up - usually with black paper or cloth. So that when one enters the room, it should be in total darkness. 5.3 Hang a red banner across the banner of the business. 5.4 During this time, all electricty to the unit should be off. No equipment is to be turned on. 5.5 Before the auspicious time, the owner or manager would have to light up a charcoal stove. 5.6. Next, once the stove has been lighted up, the owner place it a few feet away from the main entrance door i.e. in the middle. And he raises his left foot then right foot and removes the red banner and opens the door. If he has staff, then all the staff do the same.. ie. raise their left foot over right foot and walk into the office. 5.7. Get help to peel off all the coverings to windows to allow light to come in. And then switch on the lighting in the room and all electrical devices there. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Anon, 1. A bedroom door should be proportionate to the same wall it is on. Overall, a larger door is not a primary concern unless, one sleeps with the feet facing the door. A sample of this inauspicious position is shown under the attached illustration. (File only avaiable for viewing thru the web-forum.) 2. Overall, so long as the bedroom door opens inwards, this is good. For sliding doors, then, one can control the `size' of the door opening. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Wendy, 1. In my opinion, for an office environment - it is common to find certain offices or sitting positions with a glass wall behind it. 2. Where possible, in such situations, have a back personal "side-table" along the glass panel. This is symbolic of a mountain effect. And makes the ratio of nearly 33.3 percent or more - with shelves and the upper half glass panels. It would thus qualify as a mountain support in such a situation. 3. Usually, many offices will try to maximise document space with such side or back shelving. 4. If the above is not possible, then curtain blinds either horizontal type or vertical type is still acceptable as a symbolic screen. 5. In many instances, due to fire safety regulations, if specific windows are e.g. marked with a RED triangle symbol, this means that that panel of glass is meant for rescue attempts in the event of e.g. a fire. And it is against regulation to block these. 6. In my opinion, the greatest threat from a window are `poison arrows' or angled building pointing into the office window area. Alternatively, if one's office windows use poor tinting (sun-x) then any reflection from neighbouring buildings are considered as Sha Qi. As reflections or mirror like external finishing of other buildings is considered Sha Qi. Here, use the concept: if it cannot be seen; it no longer becomes a threat. Thus using blinds would be effective. Overall, a building takes its Feng Shui luck on a macro level i.e. the entire site and building. And relatively less on individual units. Unless these individual units have bad Feng Shui themselves. For example, good building designs have toilets are are out of the building or away from entrance etc... For example: Good building design is like the DBS Tower 1 building, Singapore. Where the toilets are located at a sector together with the pantry. And it is never near any entrance or office area. Other good designs include some shopping centre e.g. Junction 8, Bishan Sinagpore. And even Sim Lim Square. Bad examples of office complex is the Fortune Centre building. Where the toilets does not the toilet area sharing at least one external wall. Here, some of the units are facing (even if they are hidden) from view, the toilet area. Which brings bad Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Stacey, 1. What you are looking at is only based on `micro' Feng Shui. Although it is nice to get micro Feng Shui right, it is just part of holistic Feng Shui. (External environment is equally important). 2. Usually, in micro Feng Shui, the entire house Feng Shui is looked at. Not just whether the main door is facing southeast or southwest. Do also look at intangile force facing the bedroom area. 3. If the main door is really needed to be changed: it can be tilted to `kill two birds' with one stone i.e. away from SW and facing a good direction. However, usually a good date is chosen and the precise angled calcuated for the owner (to benefit him/her). Warmest Regards, Cecil
