1. This huge lantern must have been made from labour of love and thousands of Chinese New Year (CNY)Hong Bao (Red packets). Red packets are envelopes where money is inserted and given out during CNY 2. Each individual ingot was made from several of these Red packets. 3. This "master piece" is truly a labour of love... location: Redhill Lane Market...

1. Early, I am referring to real water. 2. Another form of "water" or some refer it as "yin" water is possible. Yin water can be considered as colours or e.g. wall paint &/or curtains &/or bed sheet. 3. Water element in terms of colours: Blue, black or grey or shades of them. It can also be wavy pattern. 4. You might want to use colours instead or "Yin water instead". But definitely not REAL water especially an aquarium in the bedroom. 5.In this modern commercial times; where everthing is "in the name of Feng Shui"; frankly, many have the idea thatsuccessfullFeng Shui isabout enhancing wealth and thinks ways and meansto try enhancing their home not knowing that some homeshave literally "JUNK" Feng Shui. 6.For example,of course there are some homes that are like unpolished gems. And luckily for such homes; just activating a proper water feature e.g.at a wealth location and it happens to be at the correct location e.g. a water postion at the balcony. 7. However, majority of the time; some homes are like a 10 YEAR OLD, 1,000cc car.No matter how one try's to enhance "wealth" for such a lousy home... cannot be dreaming andhope that this house can turned into a brand new Ferrari. Htng H. wrote: Well, Singapore is a place where houses are built not by us and I would presume at least 50% of the wealth spots are in bedrooms, study rooms, kitchen, toilets, store-rooms, dining rooms etc... 8. More likely, the key success factors for such homes are:- * Fix-the-Leak, First! * The Concept of Maximizing Marks

These are some considerations:- 1. Many proper books or geomancers will say this "It is a waste your water wealth falls in your bedroom". 2. One read of the above "It is a waste...." should give the hint clearly, already.. no need to elaborate further. 3. Some Geomancers mentioned why water position is no good in the bedroom. Usually, their concern is that water (or still water) is considered YIN. And a bedroom is already yin (for rest) thus; water is not harmonious for a bedroom. 4. If it cannot be seen, it no longer is effective. Thus if one becomes creative and wants to place a water bed.. it is not proven that it is = activating water wealth. 5. It is very common to hear... "what a waste... the very auspicious Double #8's are wasted in the kitchen etc... 6. Drawing a parallel: if one has a family of 8 (7 adults and say 1 child); goodness me... if one owns a saloon car that can sit 5 persons the most; how in the world can we squeeze all 8 persons into this saloon car? FULL STOP. If you really want to do so; go get a Multi-purpose Vehicle or van! There is no if's or buts, here. 7. If the toilet falls in the wealth sector: Can I make this into my study or bedroom..... Well ... no one is stopping "YOU" right? Hasta la vista baby! Go make my day!

1. Frankly, there are many types of cures. And most importantly, a sector should be looked at in terms of at least the 3 variables under the 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. It cannot be that only wind chime is used to disarm #5 as an example. #5 can also be disarmed using say a water position provided all the 3 variables: MS# WS# and Base# stars "look rite". Tess C. wrote: Dear Cecil, To activate good sectors we make it more yang with movement and lights. However, when we come across bad stars like the No.3 we introduce lights as fire element cure and with No. 5 we hang wind chimes which has movement. My question then, are we not activating the sectors by the cures? Tess C. wrote: Another question, which member of the family will be affected by the bad stars in a sector? Example annual star 2 in the North with 6ms 8ws 3base occupied by the eldest daughter with personal kua no. 7 . Whose health would most likely suffer in this scenario? The occupant, the middle son because North is his palace, the father (6), the youngest son (8), the eldest son (3) or those with personal kua of 6 and 8? Thank you very much for your time. I enjoyed reading your replies in the forum. 3. Please see example: attachment. 3.1. There is such thing as Eight-One Combination: 3.1.1 Combinations are fixed detailed description of different combinations as the numbers of the stars comes together. It provides short explanation of the combination effects. 3.2. For example in the attachment: 3.2.1 INFLUENCE OF A SECTOR TO A SPECIFIC FAMILY MEMBER(S) 3.2.2 North-East : [9] & [7] - Heart illness. Thus the implication is if this is a bedroom; and whoever sleeps in this bedroom can be affected by Heart illness. 3.2.3 While at North direction: [7] & [9] - Internal Intestine illness. Thus again, whoever spends time at this sector can get intestine problems. 3.2.4. Spent time at e.g. West:- [1] & [6] - Power and Authority (Especially good for police or uniformed personnel). Good for an adult. Or if it is a living room; applies more to an adult e.g. the breadwinner vs a young child. 3.3. ACTIVATING A SECTOR FOR OVERAL LUCK ESPECIALLY TO BENEFIT THE BREADWINNERS South direction: [8] & [8] - Prosperity, good wealth. 3.4. THE BAD STARS ARE IN A GENERAL SECTOR E.G. THE LIVING ROOM AND BALCONY AREA In this example, if the qi coming thru a balcony or window into a living room at NW; has [2] & [5] - Stars 2 and 5 meet. This spells trouble. Star 2 will mean sickness in the family (especially your mother). Star 5 would mean some outdoor accident or troubles. Often for such cases, usuallyit can affect any family member. 4. In general if the MS #8 is not at the same place as WS #8, each of these sector(s) can be activated separately. 4.1. For example correctly activating Mountain Star MS#8 is meant for: Networking, relationship, lottery, bonus, promotion and general health of family members. 4.2. Activating Water Star #8 has more to do with career luck... Frankly, all these are kinda of an "automatic" response especially for those skilled in charting out the Flying Star chart; interpreting and formulating enhancements or cures. It comes naturally much like a doctor using a rubber mallet to test out the nerves of the calf of one's leg -- the leg always "shot up wards" under such a response. I really don't know about layperson who may not be too family on such matters.. Not that they are spastic or anything like that.. just that they may be groping in the dark or "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing". Just like many Catholic priests especially those well read and even had to study latin to understand the bible - whom take at least 10 years or more of thourough studies. On the other hand; I have ever encountered before some Christians who just go for a few study lessons and start preaching (actually cursing other religions - Catholic included). Sub-standard yet, think they know it all. My god.

1. This water feature is in "orange" colour. 2. Under the Five Elements concept: Metal element = circle (e.g. the circular ball design of the water feature); and orange can also be considered as "gold" colour or metal element. 3. This follows the tradition of exchanging oranges when some one visits a home. And the two dialects: Cantonese : Kum or mandarin orange sounds like GOLD. While the Hokkiens call it : Kim = also gold. While "Peach" colour is pinkish and belongs to the Fire element (Fire element - red, pink or purple).

1. As I mentioned, in the previous message; if Feng Shui is to be applied; usually it is based on Para 2... e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui and/or in the Far East, if a place has good Shapes and forms Feng Shui; it can sell by itself. 2. If you are especially say in the US, housing market is pretty stale at the moment with tons of homes on foreclosure and many uanble to get proper loans. 3. Honestly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. Only those that has been mentioned in my last msg (refer to Para 2 of that msg) and under Para 1, of this msg.

These are some of the considerations:- 1. For a new development - yet to be completed.. have a mental picture of where the aftersun rays fall. 2. Even in a afternoon sun facing unit: visualise whether the sun rays are going to fall on the unit between 12pm ... usually if partially blocked by another near-by unit: afternoon sun is most likely between 12pm towards 2 to 3pm. If fully unblocked; afternoon sun can bathe that part of the home (wall or windows) from 12pm to 5pm - this is pretty hot. 3. What material is facing the afternoon sun? If the walls are thin prefabricated walls or just one layer of brick walls bathed by the afternoon sun, even at 7 to 8 pm; heat can still slowly ooze out of the wall ---- thus turning on fan does not help. May have to turn on air-con if one does not want to be affected by the heat.. at night. 4. For re-sale apartments; always become very suspicious if you are viewing the home in the late afternoon say around 4pm and the owner or agent turns on the air-conditioning in the home. 4.1. There are many instances, where the afternoon sun is not visible to the eye but is bathing one of the walls in a home. For example, it could be the wall shared by the master bed. In the past, had some clients; mentioned regret in that they did not "discover" this "issue" ... and only after they moved in; they discovered the problem. 4.2. Some home owners "mask" the heat by placing e.g. the entire wardrope onto that wall. And placing their bed-head on the opposite direction. If you find the bedroom arrangement - in particular the wardrope at what you feel may not be in the "correct" position; visualise where the afternoon sun comes in or onto the unit's exterior. Use a compass as a guide. 4.3. As the earth axis is tilted at an angle; every six months; the sun rays will change. In the first six months; the rays may not come in so "deep" into say the living or bedroom; but next six month's time; it may even penetrate deeper or if one is lucky further away.. just take note of this. 5. In Singapore, for those with young children; from Primary 3 onwards, these children go to school in the morning and come back home in the afternoon. 5.1 Most adult would be happily working in an air-conditioned environment (assuming you are a white colour worker)... while the child's bedroom may be facing the afternoon sun. And often, the child, the master bedroom and even the living room faces this dreaded afternoon sun. 5.2. Turning on the miserable fan does not help to cool the home. While air-con is good but how many can afford to turn on air-con the whole day-night? 5.3. Try studying in a hot environment and it would be a contributing factor in a child's perhaps "unable to concentrate" for too long ... sort of thing. 6. In the evening, when the heat still oozes thru the walls into the home; there is a likelyhood that one may experience more quarrrels due to being irritated by the "heat". 7. In my opinion, in many situations; a home with huge walls (one layer) bathed by afternoon sun .. would ooze .. heat... as late as into 8 pm.... especially on a hot day in Singapore. In fact, if the facade is made of glass and if uv film is added; this cools much faster than the wall. 8. For some bedrooms, even if we can uv protect the windows; many of the curtains are not "uv" certified. In a bedroom, many often open the windows.. and definitely let in the rays of the sun. Fortunately, Chinese (yellow skin) and other races in Singapore have lesser issues with skin cancers as compared to the whites which have fairer skin - and comparably more prone to skin cancer. 9. However, as for cataract in the eyes; all races can be affected equally... if we always get afternoon sun exposure or even morning sun exposure. 10. These are some of the reasons why when we see advertisements in newspapers; some may indicate: This home is North-South facing - implies that it is not a "hot" home or apartment. 11. This is why, even if we belong to the west group; we cannot blindly buy just any home without due consideration of the afternoon sun.

These are some of the considerations:- 1. In gambling e.g. in casino(s); much of your luck dependsboth on the "location" - no longer your home and in most instances weightage goes to the house. 2. For your own home; Yes, you can still try to squeeze out some luck: especially activating Mountain star #8 and even Water star #8 as these are your current prosperity stars. 3. In addition, since you are into"gambling" you need to consider disarming both #3 = quarrels, scandals, lawsuits ... and #7 "robbery" star i.e. robbed of opportunity to win each time. 4. If you can take note of the annual stars; it would be great. But usually, if the home has already been "balanced" or Feng Shuied for the overall 20 year flying star average then taking note of the annual stars is an added bonus. 5. As it is not possible to take note of all the annual star numbers; one "trick" is to try to located the MONTHLY Star #8 (instead of annual) for greater accuracy and activating it as an added bonus or advantage.

Attached, please see illustration on the best location for the concave mirror:- 1. The best location is around "waist" level which is often immediately below the frame of the window sill. 2. Not just this illustration; but be-ware! All concave mirror(s) must not exceed 3 1/2 inches else may result in frequent quarrels in the household. 3. In addition, cannot be too greedy: Placing more than ONE concave mirror. 4.In theattached illustration; avoid placing it anywhere within the "purple" coloured zone.

1. If one is trying to DIY; then one of the first report(s) especially for the Male and Female breadwinner(s) should be considered:- The Eight House Report: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm Usually, from this report; especially the Male breadwinner's best facing direction should be considered. 2. The forum has lots of resources like what is considered as the facing direction etc... 3. Question like should the master bedroom be suitable to the Male breadwinner or sometimes both male and female breadwinners have different directions, then what? 4. If you want to DIY, you really (really) have to be patient and read up lots of resources. 5. For those who "work smart" is often thru the most recent trend (in the last few) years of getting Feng Shui service available from many Geomancers. In simple terms it is "Can or cannot buy this ... unit" type of service. 5.1. Often one really likes a home and calls a Geomancer to give advice on the spot. And many even after just one session; would be able to better understand what to look out for next. 5.2. Else as I mention, there is no way, such a question can be answered thru one message.

1. In real life situations; it is the interaction of the home Feng Shui with one's ba zi element. 2. Thus, most people would normally: "wear" the favourable colours in their HOME. For example, if one has a child, one would "wear" the favourable colours onto the child's bedroom. For example: the colour of the walls, curtains and bedsheets. Or when buying a car, many would also consider the choice of car colours suitable to their ba zi. 3. In many instances, many people don't often seriously wear certain colours - if it is not practical. The sterotyping is that women = red or pink and men = blue. And what happens if the male has a ba zi that favours red colour? Wear red all year round or GO JOIN Ferarri and wear their red uniform? 4. Personally, wearing colours onself is like focusing on peanuts. And not the big picture. In many instances, how to wear the same colour over and over again?Or on the contray get out of wearing that colour. 5.1 In Singapore,Israel where national service for boys (men)is compulsory and majorityend up in the army. How to complain and getaway from wearing GREEN? 5.2 For example, if one isconsidered as a Strong Wood person. Are you able to excuse yourself to your supervisor and tell him/her that green colour is NOT suitable to you. If it is wartime, not only will you get court-marshalled, but also shot-immediately! 5.3 In Singapore, many schools have school uniforms. For example, many Catholic schools use white shirt. And for convent girls: blue dress and white shirt. So blame it on life if the child fares or behaves badly in school. Peanuts, peanuts and more peanuts, please. 6. You wrote: "Or wear red and green for 1st 2daysthenwear yellow forthird day and back to red & green on the forth day and so on?" I say... too free or nothing better to dois'it? Peck Wun W. wrote: Hi Cecil, Thanks for your enlighten. The note by robert mentioned: One must always boost up your favourable elements first, then add in elements which you lack (even if they fall in your unfavourable elements). I am of weak fire and the element I lack is earth. So I have to wear more red and green, to boost up my favourable elements first but how doI know whether is enough andwhen &how do Iadd in elements which I lack next? Do I wear more red and green and then mix with a little of yellow on the same day andeveryday? Or wear red and green for 1st 2daysthenwear yellow forthird day and back to red & green on the forth day and so on? Thanks.
-
Yes, in theory, for a weak fire person:- 1. Wood is better than fire element. 2. Fire element is acceptable.

Further to what I had mentioned, this is a very useful link: an old resource I wrote sometime in 2005 (5 donkey years ago)... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=3&mid=17396&new= What is L.C.M.? What has Ba zi in common with Flying Star Feng Shui and the Five Elements concept. Under Ba Zi, we can be classified as say Strong Earth or Weak Earth. Under Flying Star Feng Shui: #2 can also be classified as weak earth.. while #5 is classified as strong earth. #6 as strong metal. #7 as weak metal. So, tell me? Why is it so important to classify them into weak or strong?

1. Singapore is at the equator (or close to the equator). Thus, the geographical north and magnetic north is very close to each other. 2. All street-directory maps (all over the world) is based on Geographic north. That is when one turns to look at a streetdirectory map, north or zero degrees is directly at the "top". 3. Take this simple example: see attachment. A block of flat is called Block 210 with the facing direction of the block marked. 4. Using a protractor, one can easily determine accurately the facing direction of this block of flat i.e. in this example, the block is facing 330 degrees North. And under Flying Star Feng Shui this direction fits into North-West 3 direction = 330 degrees (which fallsbetween 322.5 to 337.4 degrees).

1. In my opinion, your determination of centrepoint or known as "centre of gravity" is pretty accurate. 2. Attached, please find the "fine-tuned" centrepoint which is just one or two feet away from your proposed centrepoint. 3. The rule-of-thumb method of finding the centrepoint is often to match as close as possible protusions vs missing areas by area. See attachment. 4. A crude method is to photo-copy the layout plan. Paste it onto a cardboard. Cut-out the outline. And try to balance the entire cardboard on a piece of nail. The point where the entire cut-out-carboard balances onto the nail is known as the centre-of-gravity. Suspected to be as shown in the attachment.

In my opinion, these are two considerations:- 1.1 Even under Flying Star Feng Shui, there is a base #8 at that sector. And under Period 8, #8 is the reigning number does help greaterly. 1.2. Chinese consider red as auspicious (at the altar). On 1.1 alone, in my opinion: "if it ain't broken don't - unfix it". I personally feel - leave it as it is ... no issue.

1. In the past, careers can easily be categorised without hesistation. 2. Nowadays, especially with multi-skills involved, one has to find out what is one's major job function. 3. However, in today's world roughly all occupations could be classifed as under:- 3.1. What industry is it in? 3.1.1 For example: Hospital is considered wood element; IT as water element; Real Estate as earth element etc... 3.2. What is the major job specification? If one is doing sales or marketing than it is fire element. While customer relations is related to earth etc... 4. The above, will show that in today's modern job scope; in general, the industry and job scope are taken into consideration. Thus it is not unusual to link a job with two elements e.g. Someone is working in the current "QC issues" Toyota car company = Metal element. And if he/she is doing sales or marketing than the job function is Fire element. 5. For higher level posts e.g. CEO who is often in-charge of all departments and one of their main functions is to "grow" a company; thus his /her primary role or job scope belongs to the "wood" element.

1. Usually, this often comes under three considerations:- 1.1. Location, location, location It says it all! And especially in the Far East, house numbers like 4, 44 or 444 or 14 etc... while 13 to westerners ... are equally not appealing 1.2. Market pricing & condition of interior layout etc.. 2. Under Feng Shui; Flying Star Feng Shui can be used to where possible activate especially the mountain star #8 = networking luck - to make the home more sellable (other than 1.1 and or 1.2.) Majority of the time, as what you had described, this indeed looks like a "tit-for-tat" situation. Furthermore, it is not like your home is so close to the neighbour's home. I can see that you have a large compound. And further the distance between the two homes; the better. And in this case, it looks like both homes are quite a distance apart. Constrast this to many of the pictures of Singapore landed property homes that I had posted. The home is often separated only by a two lane road. In my opinion, there is no major concern for yours or your neighbour's home given that the main door is further "sunken" deeper inwards... For those who still are concerned; (more out of "fear" or restlessness then could / may / would consider a six rod windchime hung above the main entrance. But in my opinion, use this as a sort of last resort- thing. Jo J. wrote: Hi Master Cecil, I came accross one of your old responses to a poison arrow issue dealing with "tit-for-tat" feng shui. The house accross from mine has several pointed roofs, and one is directly pointing at my main door (and is also on top of its main door). However, my house is the same floor plan but flipped so the pointed roof above my front door also directly faces my neighbor's main door and thus directly faces its pointed roof. Is that enough to create a "tit-for-tat" feng shui or do I need to cure the poison arrow? If I do need to cure the poison arrow, how would I go about it? Thanks!
