  1. This picture: Summerhill condominum - continuation of Part I, II and III Shows an overview of the frontage of the condo. Cars drive past the Guard house onto a wooden bridge. Below the wooden bridge is the water retention. In this concept, there is a two-element harmony where water -> wood (productive cycle). See attachment below.
  2. In this view, you can see a wider picture of some of the apartment blocks of Summerhill condo. You can also clearly see the sloping hill. And the water retention.
  3. To give an idea of how the slop is like, let's view the condo next to the Summerhill Condominum. (Where Summerhill Condo is one plot higher up this condominum project).
  4. This condominum project located in Hillview area of Singapore uses the concept of `retaining wealth' for it's residents. The overview of the frontage of the condominum is as follows:- http://www.geomancy.net/events/CDL_FS_Talk/talk_1_slide_37.htm source and credit: Summerhill Condo - City Developments Limited The attached illustration below shows a rough sketch of this condominium which is on the upper slope of a sloping hill. In order to retain wealth, the condo has adopted a water feature where water is collected into a water position. Here, this is to prevent the `wealth' from flowing or draining into another condominum. This is a clever design and is good for the entire condominum households. Please see illustration attached.
  5. Dear Anon, Considerations when installing a fountain:- 1. A small fountain, may have to be considered as merely a decorative item. 2. A fountain should where possible, have water that splurt in and not allow water to splurt or flow out. In the earlier situation, water should be able to in. This simple concept can be seen under the following url: http://www.geomancy.net/events/Rotary_Club_FS_Talk/rc_talk_slide_28.htm In the above typical illustration:- 1. One will find that `water flows in' to a wealth or centre. 2. If one looks carefully, at the picture of the world's largest fountain i.e. Suntec City, Singapore:- 2.1 One will notice the huge metal ring which is also symbolised by a circle (where circle represents) metal element. Under the productive cycle of the Five Elements Concept:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm One will notice a two-cycle event: metal -> water are in a productive cycle. Thus, water using the metal ring as a conduit has a harmonous combination of metal with water. 3. From the above example, we can learn that: 3.1 the rationale why a house e.g. with a double 7's at the frontage can take advantage of water to activate `wealth'. For example, under the Flying Star Feng Shui, 7 or 6 represents metal element. And sectors that have 7s or 6s or even double 7s or a combination of 7s or 6s can be activated with water element. This is especially true ONLY if these are areas such as the living room or the frontage of the house. 4. The result of such sectors e.g. metal sectors reacting with water (induced thru fountains etc...) are good combinations. 5. Overall, if the Flying Star Feng Shui is not used, then one may have to rely soley on Shapes and Form Feng Shui and Ba Zi:- 5.1 As per your question, without much reference to Shapes and Forms, one may have to use `trial and error' Feng Shui. If one is applying Shapes and Forms, then the natural positions are those at the living room area or areas that have or would require clear space especially the frontage of the house. 5.2 If one has a garden at the frontage of the house, this would be a much preferred location for a fountain. 5.3 As mentioned earlier, a tiny fountain can only be considered as `play play' or `peanuts Feng Shui'. It can be considered merely as just decorative piece. 5.4 A fountain should have the vibrancy or sounds can induce favourable Qi. And as a result create more negative ions that are favourable. A small tiny fountain may not have this type of vibrancy. 5.6 As a result, usually, a building or a condominum may want to induce such an effect e.g. having a fountain etc.. or a swimming pool with water flows etc.. And in such a situation, if one has such an advantage, it does not really benefit a person to place a `tiny' fountain in their home. 6. Overall, one should seriously consider one's Ba Zi before applying water in the house. For example, water would not be good for a person or the breadwinner if he/she is a `weak fire' or `strong water' element person. For a `weak fire' person, water will further extinguish his/her weak fire person. While water for a strong water element person is not favoured. As a strong water person should have more balance or reduced water. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Yang Ming, Yes, a Japanese entrance curtain can help to reduce the direct path of `air'. You can consider this as an alternative. But, there will still be a percentage of `air'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Cheng, 1. In many of the new apartments, especially in newly or recently developed HDB estates especially in SengKang and Punggol, yes indeed, there are many apartments at the end of corridors with two flat main entrances facing each other. And in close proximity i.e. as close as 1 metre. 2. In fact, this is also common in some of the existing and new condominiums. For example, if one had visited Parkview condo at Bukit Batok, some of the (two units face) each other and also witin 1 metre proximity, also. 3. Therefore, in land scarce Singapore, you are not alone in this situation. 4. Overall, this has more to do with `commonsense approach'. Where, one's tolerance level may not be that `good' especially if neighbours are not that considerate. Such as if one neighhour either place plants and/or shoes or shoe rack outside their apartment. It may become `nerve racking' for the next door neighbour ..who may have a small family and are at odds with this type of un-neighbourly practise. Many of us also have our own comfort zone and prefer privacy. 5. It is felt that many of the residents either become tolerant of each other or result in unhappiness ... Really, there is not much choice but to exercise tolerance. 6. In fact, if one's neighour is a Chinese, it is hope that both do not resort to Ba Gua wars where, one party places a Ba Gua above their door. This results in one having to take action to counter this by (no choice) using another Ba Gua to counter-act it. This is a lose-lose situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Sharon, Please see below:- In my opinion, in a small room although technically speaking one can still divide the room into 8 sectors but from my past experience, the influence of the 8 divisions is very small or minute. As compared with the eight sectors in a larger setting e.g. a full apartment. Already, the Eight House is not a greater `scorer' of marks. And in my opinion, such a sub-division adds to or has minimal effects. It is best to still keep the bed within good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Frankly and honestly, under Eight House, there is currently not much one can do to help in such a situation. Warmset Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Anon, I not gone thru based on Eight House (good facing direction). However, please see below for my comments:- Based on your second description here, option 1 is preferred. As an overhead cabinet is not favourable for two reasons: 1. It acts more like a supression (beam). 2. If one notice carefully, usually the edge or corner of the overhead cabinet may act as a poison arrow towards the body of a person. Usually, if there are space constraints, option 1 is preferred. It would be a bonus if the direction you face is good or nice to have (under Eight House concept). For personal self, one can see how to incorporate the colours in daily dressing. Objects placed on a table, in my opinion are less effective as they should be considered more for decoration. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Malia, 1. There are some examples of bedroom layouts under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 2. `Uncurable or fatal situations' are (for example):- 2.1 a bedroom directly below a toilet. 2.2 Bed-heads should preferably rest along a support wall. There should not be a situation where there are windows all round a bedroom. 2.3 it is preferred not to have beams over the bed (can be curable thou). 2.4 Windows above the bed - can still be curable. So far, I can think of some of the above situations may make the bedroom less favorable. 3. Many bedrooms have attached bathrooms. And although this may not be ideal, but it can be `curable'. A sloping roof has not been proven to be that bad... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Jack, There are two ways to see the use of water in Feng Shui:- 1. On a scientific basis, water positions is looked at in conjuction with Feng Shui theories : Shapes and Forms & Flying Star. In particular, under Flying Star, locations where metal elements have been detected, water can be used to enhance such "metal locations". Thus a combination of water with metal can help here. 2. On a non-scientific basis, one would have to visualise locations one can place a fish tank at. Usually, since it is a tall object, it is placed along a wall. And in most homes in the living room area. 3. Never place a fish tank at the centre location of a home. As this would affect family members health and finance of the owners. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Yang Ming, So long as there is no direct path of `air' from the main entrance to the back, then this is not an issue. Yes a set of beads can be hung at the kitchen entrance. Usually, it should be full height or at least cover three-quarters of the length of the location it is placed at. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Anon, Please see below:- There is relatively no harm hanging a small object. Peacock signifies beauty and dignity. Because of the "huge eye" on a peacock feather, some say that it can drive evil spirit away. Sometimes, this can be found in some Chinese temples. In Chinese culture, peacock is used much less than in Indian culture where there are more myth involved in it's use such as the peacock throne. Predominantly, after the Manchus conquered China, manchu officials adorn hats with peacock feather. Frankly, there is no specific location to place it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Eugene, To clarify, when you mentioned "south of the building" does it mean that the frontage is at the north. And that the huge lake is at the back of the building. If so, what is the distance from the lake. Would you be possible to draw a sketch of your building, in relation to the outline of the lake and high-way (with a top-down prespective) which can relatively indicate the distance and outline e.g. the highway is moving towards your building or parallel or curing inwards etc... Frankly, it is very difficult to comment on the current information. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Aggeliki, Currently in the internet, the most language used is English. And majority of Feng Shui resources available (in the internet/web) are in English. As Chinese sites progress or Taiwanese sites progress, usually the main media is in Mandarin. Frankly, it is hard to find resources in your own language. It is good that you continue to `pick-up' on English. As nowadays there are overwhelming information that you can learn under this language. Wishing you all the best in your quest! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Yumeko, Assuming that one is weak water and weak earth. You can use the Compatibility report at www.geomancy-online.com to look at the binding element for a weak water and weak earth person. For these two persons - the proposed binding element would be two elements. In locations in the house in particular: your bedroom and living room area; you can enhance the bedroom with the binding elements. For example: since a weak water and weak earth person would need two binding elements then: a combination of enhancement can be:- - paint the walls in one of the binding element colour. And e.g. for the wardrope use the second binding element. Or instead, use the appropriate colour e.g. for the bedsheet or curtains. For the living room, the interplay of the above i.e. painting of walls / furniture cabinet can be used in the same manner to further increase the binding element. One interesting thing with binding elements is:- 1. usually if one binding element is recommended between the two couples : e.g. water element - then, usually, the pairing is considered an auspicious paring based on Ba zi (Pillars of destiny). 2. when two binding elements are recommended, then usually the couples are considered not as compatible under Ba Zi. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Marie, Usually, more importantly, the people who will missed one's loved one. And it is more of the love. Locally, it is a tradition, for some to even buy an altar (if the home does not have one) or not necessarily an altar but a specific table to place one' loved one (urn). And where possible:- 1. This should not be placed on the opposite wall of a toilet 2. If possible, the table (or generally we call it the altar table) should not be facing into a bedroom. Otherwise, a good location is around the living room / family room area. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Hoa Luong, Personal relationships can be strong. And binding element e.g. in the home may not be able to help much. In your boyfriend's case, try to enhance personal self e.g. wear more green or brown colours. And for yourself, you can reduce your water e.g. wearing red. This should help abit. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Niap Vun, One may have to weigh one's priorty here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Catherine, 1. Overall, the concept of condominiums is considered by standards "pretty new". 2. The earliest adoption of pools in estates can be derived more from hotels. And in Singapore, this is only become popular (due to affluence) in the last 20 years. 3. Therefore, there are not much case studies to say for sure whether, the effects of a water position that you mentioned in a high rise may or may not lead to `roving eye'. I.e. frankly, we cannot say for sure if this is going to happen (in majority of the cases). As no one has fully looked at this situation. And as we are all aware, as relationships are private nature, no one would be willing to share their experience on this subject. 4. In my opinion, I cannot therefore say for sure if it may lead to `roving eye' in a high rise apartment. 5. With regards to the placement of a Ba gua, it is usually meant for either deflecting sha qi (poison arrows) or some use it to protect against evil. 6. If you feel comfortable and if your bf does not mind, it is relatively acceptable to place a Ba Gua mirror facing outwards. But not facing inwards of the unit even if the water position is not seen in the unit. 7. As I mentioned earlier, there is not much information on the `roving eye' problem associated in a high rise. Thus, honestly, it may or may not be true. Let's hope not. Until such time where, there is more information in relation to this area. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear David, In Ba Zi, the chief concern is on one's true element and strength. As this is determined from Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zi) in relation to the relationship of all other elements and the season in which you were born. Thus, even if there is zero water element in one's Ba Zi, water does not equate the life `threatening' senario where we must have water to survive. Water is like any other components such as fire. Thus, in a senario where one has zero fire, it does not mean that we need to "go near" fire. Or eat `fiery' food or food considered as Yang or too much fried food stuffs. Esentially, if you are considered as a "weak fire" person, then wood is considered the main ingredient for a weak fire person. Thus, wood e.g. green or brown can help a weak fire person `grow' stronger. Note: The Five Elements concept is about balance: Weak? Thus, if one is weak, one should try to strenghten it. Favourable elements are: wood and next favourable element is fire. It is more important to add wood to fire. While adding fire to fire is considered average. Url on 5 elements concept: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm (The Productive cycle is used here) Once, one has wood to help fire, one can still have water e.g. blue. And one should not avoid it like the plague. Overall, it would then become a complete cycle if one uses all five elements. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear TB, Usually, the cure depends on the three element combination of the #mountain with #water and the base number. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Diane, In Chinese (dialect group - Cantonese) the numeral `Eight' sounds like " Fatt " which means "Prosper". This is most likely the reason why some people sell it as a string of 8 Chinese coins. For a Feng Shui cure, it is advised that the two extra coins be removed. Else the cure is not effective. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. This word documentation lists out steps with pictures on : Finding or estimating the compass direction of the main door direction of an uncompleted house or apartment. The objective of this document is: How to find or estimate the main door direction from a typical layout plan from a property sales brochure. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee
  25. Dear Patricia, The best on can do here is to use plants/bushes along the fence to screen from the neighbour. Plants are the best resort in this situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil
