  1. Dear Anon, In my opinion, as you had mentioned that there is a difference in hour of birth given. If the hour given is still within the same period e.g. between 11am to say 1pm; 1 to 3, 5 to 5 etc.. then there should not be any difference in the readings. For example, if you had earlier quoted that your time of birth is 1.30am and subsequently told him /her that it is now 2.30am, then your time of birth remains the same i.e. between 1 to 3am. But if your time of birth is radically different e.g. you had earlier given as 1.30am but on the second session, it is 1.30pm, then there may be some differences in the reading given. (The differences may be slight or great depending on other components in your bazi). Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi, I have recently consulted a fengshui master for a couple of things.I went for 2 separate sessions. On the 1st session, I asked abt my generalcareer/relationship reading. On the 2nd reading, I asked abt my wealth. However, during these 2 sessions, the ba zi he calculated for me were different. When I asked him, he said that it was because one is for lifereading and the other is for wealth, thus there will be a difference in the ba zi number. Is this correct? Will one's ba zi changed because we are asking abt different things? Notably, my year's, month's, day's ba zi is the same except for my hour's. Pls advise. Thank you.
  2. Dear Steven, Generally, it is very common to live in a home where someone has died in the home. Often, if death is due to naturalcauses especially old age, no worries, here. For old homes, it is best to avoid having any of the posessions left by the person who had died e.g. his cupboard or any antique items. Sometimes, we are not sure what kind of items are left behind, if so, when we purchase such a home, try to get "vacant" posession of the home. And not keep such items. For those who can apply or use Flying Star Feng Shui; one way is to avoid an imbalance caused by too many YIN stars in a sector. Yin Flying star numbers are: 2, 4, 7 and 9. For example, if a sector has MS #2 WS #7 base #9; then this sector is considered to have excessive YIN stars. And if this sector is a bedroom and if it is dark and dim then there may be a possibility of YIN spirits in some homes. Thus look out for any combinations of 2, 4, 7 and 9. As these needs to be addressed by making that location brighter. In my opinion, throughout history, there are now so many homes where there are many generations or outsiders purchasing such a home. And natural deaths are common in such homes. Natural deaths include:terminal illness e.g. cancer; heart attacks andother illness. But if the death is unnatural: suicide, murder occuring in that home. Although you are an SE facing person, the good thing is that the home is a SW facing home. SW facing homes especially those that had flown to under Period 8, have one of the best Feng Shui qi around. (Exceptthat it requires toneutralise sickness stars at the front and back of the home). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Anon, Frankly, as you have mentioned, your dorm room is squarish. Many leaders (in the industry) started like yourself staying in a dorm. More importantly, mentally, one would have an idea of how, one's "work" flow is like. Asyour dorm serves both as a place of sleep and "study", try to work out the best layout based on your personal feel, liking and "habits". Since you are doing work on a laptop, some of us may feel comfortable working from our bed, while others may work better sitting on a proper table and chair. You have to see your habit and try to maximize your layout to the way you study and sleep. Some of us work better facing a window, while others may feel distracted. Again, all your personal preferences should be considered and not what "others" tell you to do. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a basic square dorm room. The door faces north and looks out of a large window and the door has a closet on both sides.I have a bed with no headboard, a desk with a bookshelf and two dressers. I use a laptop for my school work. Which way should my desk face? How should I position my bed? How should I position my dressers?
  4. Under the first-time-open door procedure:- 6) Prepare COTTON WOOL , WATER and a DISH for germinating the GREEN BEANS and place it in the middle of the living room. Attached, are some of the most beautiful "growth" of the green beans, after a few days in the new home
  5. The units that definitely does not have a poison arrow are thoseof #27, #28, #19 and #20 and #11 and #12 and #35 and #36. Usually for high floors, it will usually not be affected by the enclosed pool effect. Most concern for the pool effect are thoseespecially for 1st to 8th floor. In addition, most of the time, it will affect babies between a few months old to 6 months (respiratory problems). For adults it depends. #18 and #21 will getsharp angle of #19 and #20 correspondingly. A simple, car side view convex mirror can be used strategically at locations where the poison arrows are pointed at... without resorting to the use of a ba gua mirror is a simple fix. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Hwee Hwee, If you require constant contact with metal; what it means is that you are I believe a weak water person. And under the Five Elements concept: Metal supports water. As a weak water person, you have to be surrounded with metal. Thus if you are into real estate; if you are driving or hope to have a car, then, this metal i.e. car is a good interface to help you. The other alternative is just to wear a bit of "metal jewellery". In other example, if one is selling cars, the industry is cars (metal) and selling a car is like constant contact with metal. Best of luck in your new career. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Anon, 1. Frankly a small water feature is nothing more than a "play" thing.. Not effective and often, one becomes a "slave" as this small water fountain is always "thirsty"! Needs to be constantly topped up with water else it goes dry fast! Due to evaporation and air-conditioning drying the water. 2. For a proper water position, best to use Flying Star Feng Shui to determine where is the Water star #8 (current prosperity) star). 3. Similarly, you should determine where is the Mountain Star #8 and the stone can be placed at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi Master Cecil. thank you for your fast reply. I have one more question. I have recently purchased small water fountain and amethyst. I want to know whether I have put in the right location. If not, which location I should place them on.
  8. Dear Anon, As majority of the Towers are identical, I have already commented on the "porcupine effect" of such towers. In particular, Type E2 with F2 since the E2 vs E1 was not in your original posting. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Anon, 1. Please see attachment: Unitlayout-Lakeshore.pdf Yes, each unit in each tower has sharp corners and the sad thing is that corners of each unit is aimed at each other i.e. porcupine effect. For example unit #16-18 (Type E2) has it's living room corner aimed at Bedroom 3 of unit #16-19 (Type F2). Likewise, Bedroom 3 corner of unit #16-19 is aimed at unit #16-18's living room! Thus, you are correct to say that your tower has sharp edges of neighbouring units aimed at one another in this Far East development. 2. Siteplan: attachment: Lakeshore-FE.jpg In particular, the swimming and lap pools are "fully" enclosed. Thus not "auspicious". The rationale is because, when "water" in the swimming pool condenses, they rise up but in many instances, these "evaporated water contains swimming pool chemicals" and have no choice but blown into those units where the windows are opened. Thus if less people open their windows, those who open their windows will get the brut of the "vapours" from the pool. From past experience, for those who have new borns, it may take a few months for the young children especially those at lower floors may get some discomfort i.e. lungs etc... Usually this will go away. (Reference: my previous comments on the Rivervale Condo (next to rivervale mall). 3. I have drawn red straight lines on walls: of unit#24, #32, #40; especially in the afternoon (between12.30pm onwards to 3 or 4 pm depending onthe level of the units of #15,#23,#31 the sun will shine on the walls offunit#24, #32, #40 and shine into some of the units #15,#23,#31 living room and even bedroom 2. Like you had mentioned, the view for some units are nice. And the good thing is that the very close MRT line is buffered by a row of car-parks, although units #01 and #02 of Tower 1 A and Tower 2A #16, #09 and #10 will hear the MRT trains running along the lines. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Anon, 1. This type of beam or supporting structure is very common. Look at it this way, this beam is very "shallow" and I believe, that if one notice carefully, when we place the bed-head, and when we place our bed-head pillow, we will never be under this beam. 2. To neutralise a beam, there are many ways to do so, in addition to what you had mentioned: 2.1 Some Feng Shui practitioners asked that a red line be drawn along the horizontal beam. This is symbolic of a line of fire to destroy or melt the beam. 2.2 quarter flower conice to hold up the beam. When you move the bed-head slightly away from the wall, this is pretty good. The above are the most common methods used. 3. In general position B is one of the best. To avoid the door slicing towards the body, usually it is opened fully against the wall if one leaves the bedroom door open. This is fine. 4. Yes, position 4 besides "dead qi" area, it is not good to sleep sharing the same wall as the altar. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Lisa, One such treat such things as decorative items than for Feng Shui purpose. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: also I read to use some type of lion facing east. Thank you again. lisa
  12. Dear Lisa, So long as if we cannot see the canal from our home, this is acceptable. Thus, the fencing you mentioned is OK as there is no specific need to use just the wooden fencing. Any material will do. The idea is "if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Anon, Thank you for the illustration. The second door you mentioned in the illustration seems to be a passage way rather than a door. As the doors are on the side, I cannot see any other doors directly facing your "always" opened office room door. Thus from a shapes and forms point of view, it is perfectly acceptable to have this type of arrangement. Furthermore, your office table is away from this passage way which is good and that you had mentioned that this is an excellent facing direction for you.
  14. Dear Anon, Thanks for the detailed drawing. 1. We are not considering compass directions in this situation. (As it is not given). 2. In my opinion, I would either go for option A or B. For the following reasons:- 2.1. If I am going for Option A, I prefer not to have the bed directly on the opposite side of the stove. But if the stove is not placed on the opposite wall of Option A, this placement can be considered. 2.2. OPTION A I understand that some people may say that the bed will then be next to the toilet door. In fact, many condos have this situation where the best (in terms of privacy considerations) the bed is next to the toilet as in this arrangement. 2.3 Frankly, it is not "fatal" to have a bed next to the toilet. Although whenever we flush our toilet bowl, the water from the toilet bowl will be 'sprayed' all over the place. Even if you were to test your toothbrush, it will have some germs. But as majority of us are healthy most of the time, a little germ is no issue. 2.3 Under symbolism in Feng Shui, we do not need to place a partition between our bed and the toilet door. A small bedside table with a table lamp can be the symbolic replacement of such a partition if one; ones to use this. (Not compulsory). 3. OPTION B 3.1 In my opinion, the "minor" issue here is as you had mentioned, the privacy such as someone walking past your bedroom door (your bed - in full view). This is the only "minor" drawback. Futhermore, who is this someone if there is any .. They are usually your immediate family.. not too bad rite? 3.2 In terms of qi or air circulation, Option B is one of the best because, if we do not turn on aircon, fresh air will literally flow (in or out) between the bedroom door and window area. Thus if it is too windy, we can control the windows to allow fresh air all the time moving in and out passing our bed. 4. In my opinon, Option C is usually reserved more for the bedroom cupboard. As if we close our eyes and imagine, qi or circulation of air will often be limited, here or there is usually lesser air circulation, at this area especially the corner of the room. 5. Thus, personally, my preference is Option B, followed by Option C. I may only consider Option A if air or aircon is turned on to circulate the dead qi in that area. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi, I'll like to get advice on where to place my bed in my bedroom. Looking at the attached picture, my bed is currently placed at position B. Is that the best position to place, or should i actually move it to A or C? Do i have to use some furniture to block the door from facing the bed if so? Thank you.
  15. Dear Anon, Usually many Feng Shui practitioners will practise: 1. Compass School Feng Shui : a. Eight House Theory or Pa Cai Feng Shui This has to do with the placement of stove/ bed arrangement/study area. If so, usually or often, there is no changes, here. b. Wall colour and wealth area Often, if the wall colour isbright yellow, bright red or bright green, then there may be some instances where there may or may not be changes to these walls. Wealth area willmost often be different under Period 8. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Our flat is build in 2002 (Period 7). When we get our keys, weengaged a FS Master to advise us on stove/bed arrangement/weath area/study area/wall color. Now is Period 8, will there be any changes on these advise?
  16. Dear Esther, Usually, from a Feng Shui point of view, often, the bazi element of the person is matched with their bedroom colours. Overall, colours that often may have an impact on sickness is Bright Yellow and in some instances, Bright Yellow and Bright Red. In other instances, Bright Green is another colour to watch out. In general, safe colours are metallic colours or white or light pastel colours. Since the woodstove is black, blue is in my opinion (in general) still acceptable in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Lisa, Assuming that if your backyard is East, then most likely, your frontage is West? facing? If for example, your home frontageis West 1 225 degrees (between 247.5 to 262.4) and West 2 270 degrees (between 262.5 to 277.4) then one can take advantage of water wealth position if water flows from right to left and exits between 277.5 to 292.4 degrees. And it is advantages if water flows passing left to right of the main door. If you want wealth for the home, then the water or drainage of the above property should exit between 7.4 to 37.4 degrees out of the property. If one wants to have "Power and Authority" i.e. high positions in business, politics etc.. then try to have water exit 157.5 to 172.4. Please note that it is never advantages to have a large canal behind the back of the home. If so, most homes which try to reduce the impact would have to build a wall or wooden trellise such that one cannot see the canal or drainage flow when standing inside the ground level of the home. The above is to show an example that for all landed properties; there are often TWO water (drainage) exit points where it concerns the wealth of the owners. And often, there is ONE exit point where it will boost the "Power and authority" of the owners. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Lisa P. wrote: I'm interested in finding out about moving by the water. My backyard is facing east with a wide canal. Is there something I can use for some luck.Thank you lisa
  18. Dear Susan, Yes, so long as we try our best to follow some of the concepts. Not all concepts will suit our needs. What you are "now" practising is what I called "Commonsense approach" to Feng Shui! This is a natural form with or without Feng Shui! Many of us do very, very well with just commonsense! Many Feng Shui practitioners, visit our homes for just 1 or 2 hours and go off! And we are left to follow sometimes very silly advise! 1. Do not place a TV set facing our bed: In many of the past forum messages, I said this is fine. Do find out more why is this so? 2. School children can have open bookshelves at their desktop level. Again, check out what I had said based on commonsense approach. 3. In the past, I mentioned a very nice movie titled "Executive Decisions". The hero, who had some experience in small planes was tasked to fly the jumbo jet to land. With the help of the air-stewardess, he kept on forgetting what to do next to land the plane. The air -sterwardess.. yelled out to him "Just FLY THE PLANE!" (meaning - use your commonsense!) We all should adopt Susan's attitude, and what she has said. It makes sense rite? Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Thank you for your reply and subsequent "advice" about bed placement. It is indeed a relief to know that bed placement should be based on what is right for the individual Sometimes, one feels the restriction of what the "rules" of Feng Shui recommend, so it is nice to know that practicality or personal preference is also allowed to influence one's decisions within the home Many blessings to you and again, I thank you, Susan
  19. Dear Susan, Under the Holy Trinity of luck: 1. Heaven Luck (born with a silver spoon or not) 2. Earth Luck (Feng Shui of a home or office or place) 3. Human Luck (Usually, it is about us: have a feel good factor) Every home and even bedrooms have a limited scope to place a bed. Especially placing a bed that suits our bed-head direction - due to things like fixed door to the bedroom, windows etc.. Many of us try (nowadays) to do things in the name :sake of hoping to have better Feng Shui such as trying to place our bed-head towards a good direction. However, we should always consider this situation as NICE-TO-HAVE. And not a MUST-HAVE. What is more important is the Human Luck factor (or man luck). Or feel good factor. Thus, imagine if we do not avail ourselves to looking at good head sleeping directions, we would instead, place our bed according to the shape and form of a bedroom. In fact, true Feng Shui is also about "harmony in nature" and the hope that it gives us harmony in our life! Thus, what is the use of placing the bed head towards our good direction, but, we simply don't feel that comfortable? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Anon, Frankly, you may have to first find out whether your posting to this new position is permanent or not. And since you were posted as a quick fix, try to speak to your supervisor (Boss) that you are equally unhappy with the new post. Depending on your current work performance, length of stay in the company, the better your previous work performance in your existing posting the better it is for you to "bargain" with your boss. Most likely to see if you can work in this position temporarily - as a last resort. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Anon, If you just do a search, you can find my article on guidelines for the kitchen:- You can go to: Tips For The Kitchen Posted in: Info :: Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines Posted on: Sun, 01 Aug 2004, 06:06 AM And read the above article. In fact, toilet guidelines does exist. In general, where possible, try to have at least one wall of the toilet sharing an external wall. If the house has more than one storey, try not to have the toilet bowl (on the second storey) just above the main entrance door. In addition, for other toilets on the secondstorey, try to super-impose the location of the toilet onto say the 1st storey layout plan. Try not to have the toilet above the dining table, stove and other areas where we often sit down e.g. the living room sofa seat etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Anon, 1. The sleeping direction or best bed-head direction should be considered "Nice-to-have" and not a must have. 2. Even if sleeping with the head facing west, I personally feel that this position is the better choice. As you had also mentioned that the other position e.g. placing a tall bookshelf and placing your bed-head towards North seems weird. 3. Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. While feeling comfortable in a bedroom surrounding is about "Man or human" luck. 4. Thus what best is to sleep in a "normal " bedroom vs a "weird" layout bedroom. If we don't feel good in a bedroom.. might as well throw out the whole concept of "theoratical" feng shui. Worst to face west.. 5. To share with you: There is another Feng Shui school of thought.. this has to do with "feeling good factor". There is one Feng Shui master who.. often when clients cannot find a good bed-head position.. he would (not me) personally tell the client that - Hey! actually; when we sit up a the bed and when we breath (air or qi or chi), we are actually "facing" a direction. Thus for your benefit, you should "feel good" when you hear that when you sit up most of the time in your bed, you are facing your good direction "EAST" Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no major issue with the poster. However, if we do stare hard-enough at a peacock feather, many of us may see a large "eye" looking at us. Perhaps, this may make some of us feel uncomfortable especially since it is in a private bedroom. If you really feel uncomfortable whatsoever, then best to remove it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Angelia, To be honest, it is very difficult to provide advise based on just a few paragraphs of your situation. In a Feng Shui assessment, it is best that a proper Feng Shui audit be done to even consider a single apartment not just giving "short" advise. Thus, the external Feng Shui i.e. the landscape, the site and the land and even the block that your unit is in is crucial in the assessment of the external Feng Shui. It is nice that the second home is more squarish. And I am not too sure how bad is the "odd" shaped NE1 facing (1st apartment). Theoritically, as what you had mentioned both NE1 and SW1 can enjoy better wealth under Period 8. As equally both have water wealth #8 at the frontage. And best that for these two units, check to see if preferably, this immediate frontage is not blocked by other closeby neighbouring block. Actually, for both NE1 and SW1, notoriously, under Period 8, both have sickness qi at this facing direction and opposite direction. And these need to be "contained". Usually it is preferred that the house suits the male breadwinner i.e. your husband. For yourself, it can be 'balanced" often by you sleeping in a specific position in say the master bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Angelia T. wrote: We are currently staying in a NE1 facing house(door at South sector) built in Period 7. Some master told us that we should move out of the house quicklybecause it will affect the family's health, besides, the shape is odd.So we bought a square shape SW1 facing house(door at West sector)and wanting to renovate and move in. Shouldwe renovateour current NE1 house to change it to period 8 or renovateSW1 house and move there instead.I know that both are sum-of-ten houses in Period 8. I am in a dilemma because I realised thatSW is my death direction based on my Kua1, NE is my son's death direction based on his Kua4,although it will suit my husband's Kua is 5 for both. Which house should we renovate and occupy or should we not consider both at all?
  25. Dear Anon, Yes agree! If it is a small bedroom, the only sensible thing to do is to keep the bedroom tidy. For Feng Shui, cures and enhancements, have to go further than this small bedroom for success. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I live in an apartment where my bedroom is really small. It is only big enough to fit my bed at one wall (the connecting wall to the bathroom) and has less than a foot on the left hand side when you are facing the bed. There is about 5 feet at the bottom of the bed where my feet face a window. I can't turn my head to see out the door because the door is off to the side of that five feet. because the room is so small it is full of bed with not much room for anything else. Since I can't move the bed and there are so many bad chi things going on here, what can I do as a remedy? You know like putting crystals between the front door and the window it faces to keep the good chi in.
