No. The reference material says it is the location not where the door faces. Else, try to re-read it again. And this changes each year. It certainly makes no sense for the door not to face north or NE .. how about the year after? Frankly, this defies logic. The dome shape is subjective: "One man's meat is another man's poison". In the 1978's this dome shape can be found in some local Singapore homes .. in the form of bedroom door entrances. To some can be a tomb stone.. to others a gothic or church like or abbey shaped door. It is like some find the shape of the VW Bette beautiful while others don't like the shape.

Q: Hi master, i intend to overlay my kitchen floor and a friend of my says the kitchen floor cannot be higher than the living room floor due to feng shui and will affect the wife's health. Is that true? Actually more to do with the past. Where live animals were slaughtered and kitchen floor is constantly being washed. What happens if kitchen floor is higher than living room, then all the cleaning will spill water into the living room area. Somehow such common sense thing most likely end up as everything .. blame it on bad Feng Shui, lah!

Cecil Lee replied to WangLy's topic in General Help
A unit in an apartment… Advised a client to take the reading from the living room towards the windows; instead of standing inside the front door looking outwards Client wrote: “Please find attached the reverse where the main facing is the front windows. You are correct the front windows are alot brighter then the the main doorway which the corridor is very dim.” -

An In-depth understanding of the Frontage of a home. Is it always the main door? Who are the Conservatives & the Modernist. What lead to the Conservatives use of the Main Door only? 1. Who are the Conservatives and the Modernists? 2. An in-depth understanding of why the Conservatives has misunderstood the knowledge passed down by the ancients. https://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/16637-an-in-depth-understanding-of-the-frontage-of-a-home-is-it-always-the-main-door-who-are-the-conservatives-the-modernist-what-lead-to-the-conservatives-use-of-the-main-door-only/ Usually, Compass Readings should be taken from the living room looking out of it. This is known as the frontage of the unit. In the past, it is simply known as the main or front door also. Thus good to read the above link. -
Thanks for the photo. 1. The idea is that there should not be a straight path from the main door towards an opening to the “other side.” 2. If you plan to leave the main door opened, then part of the balcony panel(s) should be closed. As circled… 3. Better still if main door is especially closed all the time, no issue, here. 4. Many two or one bedrooms apartments also do have open kitchen designs. Not much a choice. But this is also not a fatal error.
