Two different KUA numbers

Guest

Recommended Posts

I was born on 6-20-58. According to this site, if I'm correct, it lists the South as my excellent direction, but in a book published by Lillian Too, she lists me as an East group, #9 Kua. Which one is correct and why do they differ. Also, what does that mean? Whether south or east, do this mean I am to energize that area with my lucky element which also differs in the two. On this site, it is water, on another site, it is Earth. Which one is correct? I would really like to know what my lucky element is. I trust your answer completely.
Thanks so much for your answers, they will be very helpful.

Dear Carrie,
According to Cecil's Applied Feng Shui Book there are 3 different methods to deriving the Kua number.
Here is the example:-
20 June 1958 (when converted to Lunar will still be in 1958).
So the calculation is based on 1958.
Method 3
========
1958 = 1 + 9 + 5 + 8 = 23 & 2 + 3 = 5
Since you are a Female:-
4 + 5 = 9
Kua 9 is Li which is South House.
So your most suitable house faces South.
1. South, East, South-East and North are considered East Group Kua.
2. North-East, North-West, West, South-West are considered West Group Kua.
There is such a East & West Group simply because the theory is about the 4 East and 4 West house grouping.
So it is not wrong for her to say that you are a East Group person, although your most favourable house facing should be South House.
Hope that clears your doubt.
Warmest Regards
Robert Lee

Hi Robert
Lilian Too's method
-------------------
You get your kua number as follows: Use your lunar calender year of birth, add the last two digits and keep adding until you get a single digit number.
For men, deduct this number from 10. The result is your KUA number.
For women, add this number to five. The result is your KUA number. Once you have your KUA number, arrange your desk so you sit facing your tien yi direction. Also sleep with your head pointer towards your tien yi direction.
KUA NUMBER TIEN YI DIRECTION
1 E
2 W
3 N
4 S
5 W for men; NW for women
6 NE
7 SW
8 NW
9 SE
Does her method and direction guide the same as yours?

Dear Anon,
Since you have the alternative method, and since the date of birth is available, why don't you check it out for yourself.
If I am not mistaken, it should also come to the same `Li' or South trigram.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
