Compatibility between two people

Hi, I have a friend whom I've just met, I am a yin metal dragon, and he is a yang fire rat. From my limited knowledge of Chinese astrology, dragons get on very well with rats. My birthdate is 16-April-1969 10pm, his is 2nd December 1955, 4-5am. This would make his kua number 9 meaning we are both east group people, which is good and people with 9 and 4 as kua numbers get on well don't they?
The only thing is his element is the WORST possible element for me: yang fire. I know that to lessen the problem, I should introduce earth into the equation, but even with that, if our friendship is an enduring one, will it bring me misfortune and hurt?

Dear Fraser,
A more accurate analysis is to use the Pillars of Comparison module at www.geomancy-online.com
It will analyse two persons elements and propose a binding element.
This method is more accurate than using only the Astrology method (particularly if it is based only on the Year of birth and not a full analysis of Year, Month, Day and Hour).
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
