The fs-ruler is too short, and I can't think of any reasonable way to extend it. I read about one architect here in Sweden whos favourite room dimension was 3.6m x 3.6m; but the *feeling* I get of that dimension (when I test it) is that it is very oldfashioned and boring.Please enlighten me with a very thorough and precise answer and I'll be forever grateful :-)Thank you beforehand!-Anon Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Administrator Posted February 4, 1999 Share Posted February 4, 1999 Dear Vincent,Thanks for bring up this interesting topic.At the "micro level" of Feng Shui, in the past, where Chinese burial wasvery important to the rich and royalty: They (officials) spare no expense ingetting the proper measurements correct and they use the Chinese ruler tomeasure everything " correctly " i.e. the curved frontage of the burialsite, the tombstones have good Feng Shui measurements.Even recent Feng Shui authors such as Lillian Too do mention that she`purposely' got the correct dimensions for her books.For those interested in antique Chinese furniture, you can learn aboutproper feng shui dimensions e.g. if you have the opportunity to measureantique Chinese altar tables, these have " perfect " Feng Shui dimensions.For those who have the opportunity to be `near' to any furniture shopsselling geniuneChinese furniture e.g. chairs, table, cabinets, you can at your free time,measure these.I am sure, most of them will meet the height / width / dept of Feng Shuigood dimensions.Here in Singapore, we have many races and the " undocumented " fact was thatall Housing Board Flat entrance doors are " Feng Shui correct. This fact isnot made known because of the various religious beliefs (but Feng Shui isdefinitely not a religion thou). If we use this exact length which is 43 cm or approximately 17 inches long, as the diagonal of a square, it is what Mathematicians call the `Magic or golden square'.
