Dear Michaella, There are two points of view here:- 1. Yin and Yang concept On a superficial level, or based on Yin and Yang concept: Flowers create more Yang than Yin. And in a bedroom, usually, `more' Yin is preferred than Yang in a bedroom. Where Yin environment is considered more conducive for `rest'. However, like the placement of mirrors; some of us feel uncomfortable with mirror(s) facing the bed while for others; it is fine. 2. Balance of the Five elements concept This involves a deeper understanding of the Five elements concept. Here, for example, Flying Star analysis is used to check for any imbalances in a sector (if any). For example, if there is bad earth ele…

Hi! Cecil,Thanks for your reply.I hope I have put my questions clearly this time. The room is located East and I draw a flying star chart period 7 main door facing S2 172.5 to 187.5 and the star in the East section, are 5 base star and 5 Mountain 9 Facing Star. ( I think?) The Bread winner's Kua is 8. and he sleeps in a North room. Please could you tel me what should I do for the room in the East? The person in that room has Kua 7. My main worry is that the room in the East doesn't have good stars. Also one more question how do you find out what is a good Mt & water star and what is bad. Thanks, Regards.

Dear Kieren, Please see below:- If your main door is Big Earth, then water is wealth not fire element. However, since you are a weak fire person, it can be quite disasterous for you to apply water here. Unlike a strong fire person, water at this position is favourable. But in your case i.e. weak fire (before, you even try to do the above) you will be affected by the repercussions of "water" element at this position e.g. painting the door blue. In your situtation, you can still use a red carpet for two reasons: 1. Red is always considered an auspicious colour 2. The second reason may not be that effective as adding fire to `fire' although is acceptable; it is not as…

Dear Master Lee, I just had a quick browse on my house number using your free analysis. The answer I got was "troubled mother". I assume this is referring to me since I own the flat. Also, yes, i am always troubled by my son's issues, health, growth, learning problem etc. In such cases, what is the advice to improve the situation? Or do I have to move house? How to find a lucky house number? Or what can be done? Thank you Regards Tammie

Dear Samantha, Basically, the applying of the Eight House or Flying Star is done just as in the Step 7 of this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-house1.htm Each sector is 45 degree in range. So as long as the bedroom or sector falls under that 45 degree range, then the cures or fixes should be applied within that sector. Usually at the wall or window that is in that sector range. The best example that I can give you is this sample report that Cecil does for his clients in a Full Audit. http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/onsiteconsultationsample-layout.htm You need to break up the sectors into the different sectors, then evaluate wha…

1. In my opinion, when you mention "south on the bagua", I may rightly or wrongly come to the conclusion that you are getting a template and placing it over the layout plan. 2. If you are considering the "modern commercial invention" of fixed template Feng Shui, where this "joker" prepares a template with markings like: North (career) ....... then, this practise is NON Traditional Feng Shui. 3. As I have mentioned, TRADITIONAL Feng Shui is about taking the correct directions and superimposing say a Flying star chart. If you are applying Flying Star Feng Shui, then South is south, north is north based on the magnetic compass. If not sure, re-read, and re-read again. Alt…

Dear Marissa, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, June 26, 1999 11:57 PM Subject: flying star Flying Star is a complex theory which uses numbers of stars to deduce the good and bad influences. If you generated your free flying star report, you would have seen the full analysis of the flying star for the North-West sector of the house. The rest will not be analysed for you. The analysis is very complex as you need to understand many of the underlying concepts in order to be able to deduce the relationship of the numbers found in the room. Thus, we have come up with …

Dear Master Cecil I would like to check with you on the following: (1) It's auspicious to have double 8 at the frontage of a house, how about double 8 with base 1 at the back of the house in the living room's West sector(pls refer to flying star.jpg)? (2) What can be done to activate the double eight's potential at the back of the living room? Is installing a water fountain with spining crystal ball ideal? (3) How about mountain star 1 & mountain star 6 with base 8 at the center of the living room, how do I activate its potential? (4) Howto neutralize the negative elements in room 1 & room2? Thank you for your last reply. In my period 7 chart, there is mountain star 7, water star 7 and base star # 8 in the northwest sector which is also my death sector . This sector is my kitchen where I do a lot of cooking and washing of the dishes. What can I do with this sector so that Chue Meng will not harm me so much. Flying star 5 this year is in the NW sector, so I have cured it with metals like windchimes and 6 emperor coins. I also placed a dragon headed tortoise to negate Chue Meng. Is this correct? Also in my period 7 chart, my water star 8 is in the West sector. If I place a water feature in this area, will it enhance my wealth luck? My main door is in this se…

Dear Ingrida, Actually, I believe what you mentioned is not Flying Star Feng Shui but rather the Eight House Theory. We may have to take the Eight House Theory with a `pinch of salt' for situations where there is no rooms that we can ideally spent more time at. Usually, this theory is used more for: 1. How suitable the house is to the breadwinner. 2. As you mentioned, it is good to spent time at good sectors. But if there are considered `no' good sectors to spent time at; one need not be say `upset' over it. This theory is meant more for the `initial' house hunting. For example, when house hunting, it can help or aid us to further decide which house to choose base on the…

Dear Arivm Teo, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Sunday, May 09, 1999 11:58 PM Subject: Flying Star The most important is first to take note of the interaction between the mountain vs the water star. This normally produces the influences such as illness, or etc. After that, when the two stars are analysed, to make it even more comprehensive a comparision to the base star is necessary. Certain combinations does not really create any major influences as such only with the base star can the details be known. Not sure if you are aware, we have recently revised the flying star…

Dear Anon, In a real world situation, lets be practical: in a human situation, there are two main parties involved: the Feng Shui practitioner and their clients. Thus, there will always be different situations: where a Feng Shui practitioner may either practise Feng Shui WITHOUT religion especially if the practitioner is a free-thinker or in the west, some practitioners some how or other may be e.g. a born Catholic or a taoist etc... Even if the practitioner is non "religious" but like you had mentioned, the client has a religion, a good Feng Shui practitioner has to provide advise to both non and religious clients. Especially if the clients "insists" or have an altar…

Dear Anon, Non-Feng Shui chatter... 1. To be truly honest, in this day and age, the first major consideration is on whether, have you installed an alarm system or if it is, is the system adequate. 2. This is because, as much as we like to use Feng Shui cures, things like #5 x 2 (misfortune sickness) can sometimes be twarted in a home by e.g. the installation of a hepa air cleaner etc.. 3. On the Flying Star Feng Shui 3.1 If the above are adequate, than, yes, it is best to neutralise the frontage with water position and a wind chime. 3.2 This is because, firstly the alternative of flying to Period 8, NW3 does not seem very good also given that P8, NW3 is not a very g…

Dear Cecil, Congratulations to both You & Robert for hosting 6 years of Free Advice Forum. Very educational & interesting forum. Can you please give me your views on the following: I have both a study room & master bedroom in the South Sector with #2 in a Period 7 house.. Both have #6, #2, #8 flying stars. 1. This study room is in the South Sector with #6, #2 (base) & #8 stars. Both my children's (Kua 1 & 6 are studying here. They are not doing well in their studies. I have put water plants for #2 & porcelain pagoda ? helps children?s study. How can I use fengshui for their education? Can I put a bubbling water tank or rear fish in this sector to r…

Dear Joan, 1. If this is a landed property, then normally you should take the facing of the house which is South East 2. 2. Do check the layout vs the star numbers. Since, period 8 star chart is also not as fantastic. The only advantage here is the water star #8 is located at the frontage, while the mountain star is located at the back of the house. Otherwise, there is no really other incentive other than this two to fly to this period. Since many other sectors are not as good. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi Cecil i would like to seek your advise in FS which of the following is a lesser evil and easier to remediate: 1) flying star 2 & 5 landed in Master Bedroom for a Period 8 house; or 2) main door in good sector but has a bad facing in the death direction? What are some effective remedies for each? I read in some FS books that there are timely and untimely flying stars? What does it mean?

Dear Alvin, Alvin Low wrote: Hello. You mentioned hanging the six coins. Is it OK to just place the six coins on the table in a bag/container in the appropriate location? Actually, the coins should either be arranged in a straight row tied wth red string or placed on like red packet paper. Red is Fire, 6 Coins is Metal and the square in the coin is Earth. So when you placed it either in straight row or grouped together, the five element will be perfect harmony where the Fire- Hope that helps.
