Dear Carrie, I agree with you. You should try out the curtain first. This is because, one should not place the Kuan Yin figurine on a study table or in the bedroom. Hi Carrie Are you sleeping in your Death or Disaster Sector ? This could be contributing to your problem. I have noticed in my practice that when clients complain of insomnia, invariably their bedrooms have yellow or blue walls. And, these two colors in many cases are usually activating some inauspicious stars which are contributing to the sleep problem. There appear to be many problems which you will have to address,but I give my input based on my experiences to date. Best wishes Glyn

Dear Maria and all users, I would sincerely like to point out the `dangers' of Fast Food Feng Shui. I am glad that you asked the question. Dear Anon, Please see below:- If the compass direction falls closer to one wall, the mountain star should be placed on this wall. The rationale is that there is a conflict here. The front door should be activated by a water star. e.g. outside the front door, it should be low and clear space. Dear Anon, In the past, particularly in China, the best sites were chosen for a city e.g. Canton, Fujian etc... In this case there is not much choice to have houses built near to a volcano. One way to see it is to apply the 33 percent ruleset. The roof is so tiny and it is not going to affect the environment. Even if it is red colour. Dear Anon, Before I elaborate on your question, I like to share with you a little about the Compass School Theory such as the Flying Star theory. In my opinion, I believe that one way of looking at Feng Shui audit lies with the inclination of the Feng Shui practioner. I.e if you are standing at the main door and facing out of the house, the fountain should not be on the right side of the house. Dear Anon, Frankly, this is not a traditional cure. I can understand the rationale for using salt to be placed at corners. This practice is done by some "English" priests or astrologers. But lets view it realistically. It is real hard to apply this `cure'. It looks ugly and furthermore, there should be a chemical reaction between copper and salt. Dear Anon, If you are applying the Flying Star, do check where the sickness star is located also. Under the Eight House theory, there is really not much one can do other than sleep further away from the death sector (where possible). An optional factor is to use Pillars of Destiny i.e. element strength to fine tune your situation. For example, this would depend on your element and its strength and if you have a partner, to look at both the relationship and one way is to use colours to help balance the situation. Dear Anon, Based on what you had explained, the more common approact is the door which you enter the actual living space and not the door at the ground level before approaching the living space. Currently, the consensus amongst many Feng Shui practitioners is that the influence of the bookshelf, or its `knife' "cutting" effect applies to a person who, for example sits with such an influence. 2. Some highly conservative FS practitioners may advise that it is inauspicious to have the open bookself near to the main entrance door. 3. A realistic view is that Para 1 is the main concern. For Para 2, this is highly subjective and in my opinion, not likely to pose any problems. However, the main idea is to keep the space at the main entrance area clear (as possible). To add more to complication my house shakes when a large truck drives by. My place is so bad the walls end up with small cracks needing to be fixed. The pavement is also cracked due to the extreme weather. (N.A.) I often think the best solution is just to sell the house but the houses in my area are hard to sell. My bedroom door faces the bathroom door.
