Dear Caroline, For now, we can only look at it from the Shapes and Form perspective. 1. The plus point in such an arrangement is that there is no way, you have `bad sha qi' where Qi enters the house and exits it immediately e.g. a back door or back windows or balcony at the other side. 2. As you mentioned that it `blocks' the guest bathroom, this would be acceptable. Although, it would be nice if we do not have a bathroom so close to the main entrance sector. Dear Michelle, 1. In shallow terms, Feng Shui does not have a direct effect on love and romance. 2. Feng Shui is a holistic method, to increase one's luck and it is usually, has an indirect relationship with love and romance. 3. Dear Sandy, It would be interesting for users in this forum to know, perhaps who has mentioned this `concept' that metal bed `draw away energy'. Frankly, in my opinion, there is no concrete proof of this. Nowadays, many beds also have many metal springs i.e box beds .... Dear Gordon, If space is a constraint, there is really not much that can be done. Some Feng Shui practitioners may recommend placing a windchime to `neutralise' the pointed edge. However, one should also take note that windchimes may not be favourable. You can do a search in this forum for more information of the `effects' of wind chimes (if wrongly) placed. Regards, Cecil

I remembered also in a recent Feng Shui audit of a house, the toilet bowl (Yes, the toilet bowl) is directly above the main entrance door. The owner also encountered `financial' problems. Dear John, In my opinion, statues are more like decorative pieces and dwell on beliefs rather than Feng Shui. If one looks at beliefs, normally, it is placed firstly as a decoration at a location you personally feel comfortable with. Some Chinese family run (small) shops do tend to display either a figurine of it in their shops or just a picture of it. Dear Elena, Yes, when one changes the roof of a house, one should change the birth chart. But if the house is already under Period 7 (this period, for example if the house was built in 1985 and recently, there is a change in the roof), it will still be a period 7 house. Dear Anon, Yes, in general, it is best to avoid plants with thorns inside the house (where possible). Usually, a plant lover chooses plants they `enjoy' or like and places them either in the garden or interior of the house. Dear Rochi, 1. In general, the main entrance door of a house is considered the `mouth' of the house where `qi' enters it. 2. Thus, the main entrance is considered important. 3. The `worry' here is that since the main entrance is suppose to be the `mouth' of the house, a toilet, next to it may inadvertenly, bring in bad qi especially coming from the `toilet'. 4. Some FS practitioners consider the repainting of the roof (as a means to changing the birth chart of the house). Dear Anon, In the past, concern was more for the measurements based on the Feng Shui ruler. For example, it was found that the imperial foot or more commonly the size of the briefcase was an auspicious measurement which was considered good for placing documents. Although colors has meanings e.g. Red is considered auspicious etc... what you had mentioned e.g. may in someways taken based on Life Associations concept i.e. fixed templates, in my opinion, what you had mentioned goes more towards commercialisation than anything else. Dear Anon, If one uses the Chinese compass or Luopan to analyse a direction, here, there is the sitting and facing direction. What this means is that on the compass or Luopan, e.g. the compass direction facing the main entrance door is the facing direction while the sitting direction refers to the opposite direction. Thus it is like looking at e.g. O degrees and 180 degrees on the compass or luopan where 0 degrees is the facing direction while 180 degrees refers to the sitting position. Dear Felicia, In my opinion, Feng Shui's specialty does not lie in resolving such problems as it more inclined towards other disiciplines like Zi Wei Dou Shu or Chinese Astrology. Astrology helps to understand the characteristics but in the end result it depends on the individuals or parties involved.
