Lets look at this example where there is a bad #5 around. For example:- Mountain Star is #5 and Water Star is #9; Here, we must apply the Five elements concept. ASSOCIATION ONE: #9 = Fire element irregardless whether it falls under the Mountain or Water Star. In this example, we often say the the Water star #9 is being exhausted by earth star #5. Thus, overall, it is said that the Water Star is being block or wealth (water star) is blocked. Please note that the above still relies on the five elements concept. ASSOCIATION TWO: #9 from now to 2023 is the COMING PROSPERITY In addition, the knowledge that from now to 2023:- #8 = current prosperity #9 = COMING prosperity (e…

Dear Anon, 1. I quite understand your situation. Nowadays, it is difficult for many homes to have a good placement of the stove - to the `advantage' of the homeowner or spouse. 2. If the above is not auspicious, other considerations are: 2.1 The stove should have a `solid backing' e.g. be placed against a wall instead of having a window at it's back. 2.2 Where possible, it should not have a beam above it. Or if possible, water pipe should not be criss-crossing it e.g. in the kitchen cabinet. 2.3 If the kitchen is at the north sector (water element) of the house, ideally, the stove should not face a water position such as the wash basin. As the `warmth' of the stove may be…

Dear Anon, In my personal opinion, tie a "red thread" has more to do with Chinese customs than the pakua mirror has to be activated with a red thread. As red symbolisies an auspicious colour. 1. When one moves into a house, some Chinese follow the tradition of wraping charcoal with a red paper to represent black gold. Red is considered auspicious. Same goes for bringing into the house a red charcoal stove to symbolise an auspicious occassion when moving into the house. 2. Chinese wedding invitation cards are always in Red especially with the Phoenix (representing Female) and Dragon (representing Male) emblem in gold. Even the double happiness sign is usually in red. 3. I …

1. This has more to do with Commonsense or Commonsense approach to Feng Shui: 1.1. For example, in the even that the stove area catches fire; both smoke and fire may overwhemn the staircase area. 1.2. Alternatively, if for some reasons; the fire at the stove was extinguished but if the stove is a gas stove; the gas may flow around the staircase / and nearby area - both dangerous and may be fatal to breathe-in.

Dear Anon, 1. A mountain star can only be activated if that location has a mountain star. It is not like when there is a wall, one can `simply' activate a mountain star. It has to be located. The rationale why no specific object for a mountain star has been quoted other than it should have mass and cannot move implies that one can reasonably find a suitable object for it. In this sense, no one can make commercialization out of it. Imagine, if you were asked to purchase only a specific object. It would certainly make Feng Shui `emporiums' or stores happy. Ultimately, the claim could be that it can be placed on any wall. We do not want this to happen rite? 2. A large bo…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: The picture file shown is similar to the flat that I had purchased. The walls of the study room and another bedroom have sloping walls. If I have built in cabinets to make the walls straight, does it help? Yes, sloping walls tend to create additional poison arrow, so not very good in feng shui perspective. In feng shui, as long as you can no longer see the threat, it no longer becomes an issue. So by building a cabinet to hide the slope will be one way to resolve this sha qi. The other way is if your ceiling is very high, a false ceiling is also another away to conceal such sloping walls or any beams. These are usually the most effective sol…

Dear Bernard, Bernard Chua wrote: I am a Horse born in 29 Dec 1978. Which direction should I sit facing in a business meeting / negotiationthat is to my advantage? You can either sit facing either your best eight house or best ba zi facing direction. I would recommend you go for your ba zi direction as this is more flexible to be used anywhere (ie not in your own office), while eight house is best used for house suitability or best work direction (in your own office). If you can find a direction that is both good for your eight house and bazi, that will be the most ideal direction to face whenever you have any business meeting or negotiations. A. Dear Anon, Appreciate if you can elaborate further as to what you mean by bad Feng Shui at the main entrance i.e what is the poison arrow. Usually, there is currently not much information about the `effects' of using a cross on the main door for such a purpose. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear D'Natalie, D'Natalie Smith wrote: Can someone explain to me how is it that someone with a strong metal element would need to use fire as a booster when I read that it should be earth? A strong Metal means that you are strong due to too much Earth and Metal. Therefore in general Earth and Metal are considered unfavourable. Water is the best solution to help Strong Metal given that is exhaust the excess Metal. Fire is also good because Fire destroy Metal. However, Fire is more a double edged sword as it also strengthen the Earth. Therefore, I mentioned that Water is most effective. Wood is simply wealth to Strong Metal. Therefore, in general Water, Wood, Fire are ge…

Quote: Aloysius C. wrote: I uses to face WEST direction in my work place which is my ShengChi direction. But this year STAR 2 the illnes star is in WEST direction can I still continue to face WEST or should I change direction to face SouthWest where STAR 6 located. From what I read, your work place seems to in a specific room or location. But if you are in the same location (no change), then flying star should be considered in that sector. And not where you face. For example, if you are seating in the West sector, and you can move to the South-West sector, then fine; you can actually if possible, still sit at SW facing West. It is not like "West is the #2 sector". And t…

Dear Anon, Frankly, we have conducted at least greater than 9,000 Feng Shui audits based on the influence on China timing. We still feel that this is accurate for the following reasons: 1. Many Masters use Pillars of Destiny use only the Year, Month, Day and Time of birth. Furthermore, time of birth can even be left out if not known. 2. Some people give the false notion that it must be based on GMT time. But GMT time even has been changed in 1980 or other periods for some countries. 3. Chinese timing is based on two hourly timings unlike the 1 hour time we are used to. 4. Even if we want to consider latitude, we must also consider longitude in such a senario where GMT ti…

Dear Michelle, 1. In shallow terms, Feng Shui does not have a direct effect on love and romance. 2. Feng Shui is a holistic method, to increase one's luck and it is usually, has an indirect relationship with love and romance. 3. This is why we do see that Feng Shui based on the Corner Concept where even famous authors in my opinion, give the wrong impression that one can simply enhance one's South West or Romance corner and wonderful things will happen. 4. If one's `Feng Shui' is favourable or good, it will enhance one's luck and with it, indirectly, romance, love and "wealth" would arise. Wealth need not necessary mean money but raising a family, have children etc... 5.…

1. If the kitchen door is closed most of the time, it can be a "non" issue. However, very often, for practical reasons, few families close the kitchen door as it may be inconvenient to do so. 2. There are cases where some clients, place an automatic door closer for the kitchen door. This is one solution. In some cases where owners often turn on air-con in the living-room, the automatic door closer is an added bonus, here. 3. Never, never compromise on safety! Usually for a partition, especially reasonably "heavy" ones, they should not be used unless they are properly secured or mounted. 4. For example, if one has a heavy four panel (hardwood) partition such as the"Chi…

Dear Karen, The kindergarten method is to place a crystal at the SW = romance corner (of a room or house). Sometimes, by coincidence this matches the "romance" sector of the home. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, in general, and specifically the 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui:- MS # WS # Base # If you seek help from a Feng Shui practitioner, most likely the practitioner will advise to activate MS # especially if is #8 or #9 Where MS#8 = networking, relationship luck. The above example is very general but give an idea as a proper Flying Star analysis of a given sector includes looking at all the relationships of MS# with WS# with base #. Here, there is a higher change…

1. This layout is quite common. Usually, many owners erect a gypsum partition and take the opportunity to place their company logo and (for a business, a reception counter) and for e.g. retail outlet some window displays over this area. 2. As the picture shows that the staircase is quite a distance away from the main door, have such a "screen" as mentioned above, will be fine. Thus if one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat. Quote: The main door of my new shop is facing the staircase. What can I do so that it will not affect my business as I can't change the door location as this is rented from the owner.

Dear Lawerence, Yes, your observations are correct. This is because, especially in a home, the location that has both water and fire element is the kitchen area. And there are many considerations, when water and fire is close-by! For example: 1. Compass School Feng Shui Many practitioners who apply the Compass School of Feng Shui is very much concerned with "Fire at Heaven's" gate. And under this concept, it is very bad luck to have the stove placed at this specific location e.g. NW sector of the home. And when analysing Flying Star numbers, some combination of Flying Stars may be very bad for stove placement. For example, the location that may have MS#9 with WS#6…

Dear Rose, Normally, mathematics can be used as an analogy to your question: 1. Feng Shui is about `earth luck'. While Pillars of destiny is about `heaven's luck'. 2. Feng Shui and other Chinese divinity methods are all about trying to increase one's luck. 3. How then do we increase our `earth luck'.? 4. Quantum Leap in Feng Shui For earth luck, the major idea is to either have a quantum leap in Feng Shui luck e.g. a home with good or excellent FS qualities. A home with Quantum Leap in Feng Shui may bring in say e.g. 60 to 90 percent of all the luck there is for the home. 5. Without doing anything, for example, a person staying in such a home will automatically receive …

1. Please click this link for resources on the Ba Gua mirror and the different types of it:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Bagua_Mirror 2. Never place a ba gua mirror inside a home. It has to face outwards of a home. 3. The above link will show the differences between a concave, convex and a flat mirror type of ba gua. 4. Usually, ba gua mirror is placed at "openings" facing a poison arrow or threat (sharp corner of another building or a lamp post slicing towards the main door or a window). 5. The bagua mirror in the middle is either flat, concave or convex. There is no combination of flat mirror and convex mirror - none in the market. Unless you are referring to fla…
