These are some considerations: 1. Distance of the neighbouring roof-line to your home. The further the better. 2. Openings of your home vs this roof-line: 2.1. If the roof-line is close to the top-half of your window opening i.e. when one stands inside your home window looking at the roof-line; and it is above eye level; this is a sigh of relief. 2.2. Draw the day curtain closed. As the day curtain at this position; is considered as a shield.. if one cannot exactly see the "threat" it is no longer .... Day curtain also provide natural filtered light into the room...

Dear Constance, constance king wrote: hi cecil, i would like to know for wood element with door located at death sector what would be the best thing to do. ( no other door) beside front door. please help and thank you very much. constance Generally, you cannot correct or fix a suitability issue. That is why buying a house that is suitable is the only way you can avoid this problem. As for a wood element person, depending on which sector is your house there is still a house element. For example, North facing is water element. Then if you are a weak Wood, water element will be good. So even if the house id death sector, then it will help to offset some of the inauspicio…

Dear Anon, Overall, recently there are quite alot of messages on the placement of `display' objects. Do note that placement of objects is directly related to Chinese beliefs and not Feng Shui. However, as it is relevant to most of us, (beliefs) we have to be clear about it. As a general guide, if it is a `display' piece it should preferably be kept inside a display shelf. This is because usually ox have pointed "horns" and may inavertenly create poison arrows. Keeping the `display' ox in a display shelf effectively contains it especially if it is placed sideways. Most likely, the horns will be pointed towards the support panel of the display cabinet. Warmest Regards, Cec…

Dear Users, 1. For those who are new to Feng Shui, Cate Bramble of ( www.qi-whiz.com ) is a strong advocate denouncing *BTB* or Black Hat Tantric Sect. 2. If you have the time, do visit her website where she has some interesting articles and she even expose `fake / bogus ' FS sites. 3. Please always keep an open mind about `Feng Shui' and what it can or cannot do. And also to becareful of new wave " Fast Food " Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fanty Fang, Fanty Fang wrote: I want to build house in near future. I want to have water pond since my element is strong fire. My question is where should i build that water pond (facing what direction) ? Frankly, I never like to answer such questions, this is because the only true way to determine which is the best location to place any water feature is to first have a detailed analysis done on the home to find out where are the auspicious stars and how is the surrounding environment. Only then will you know exactly where will be the most beneficial place to place a water feature that can effectively trap wealth. To simply tell you that it is good to place here a…

Frankly, I really don't quite get your question. But if a toilet is directly above a bedroom; then best to locate where is the sewerage pipe (and it's ancillary pipes). The best one can do is not to sleep directly below this piping (usually covered by a gypsum board. And also avoid sleeping next to the piping or if it is running below the bed; bed it. Otherwise, there is no miracle cure: i.e. either it is there or it is not there: On or off. (full stop). Anonymous wrote: Dear Master One of the bedroom is located below first level, and there is a small toilet room located in the corner, just before heading to downstairs. Dear Anon, Potentially all long corridors have `difficult' Qi flows especially if they are narrow. Usually, if the corridor is reasonably large, plants are used (spaced out) along each side of the corridor. It can be alternated. But in a narrow corridor, some have used pictures or even a display shelf at the end of the corridor. For a toilet, it is best to close the toilet door when not in use and not leave it open. Warmest Regards, Cecil

You can check out this write-up by Robert Lee, Geomancy.net:- Traditional & Modern Wedding Procedure:-http://www.geomancy.net/info/wedding-procedures.pdf As we Chinese have so many provinces and dialect groups; there are also many variants of Traditional Chinese practises. However, Robert Lee, has written this article many years back to give one an insight into the most common and typical Chinese practises. For example, selecting say a woman who is "barren" (no child) to a woman who has given birth to lots of child; the natural choice is to select a woman who has given to lots of (healthy) child as a helper is the obvious choice. Thus all these has to do with symb…

Dear Anon, Under Feng Shui, the Flying Star analysis `superseeds' the Eight House theory. One must first understand what the Eight House Theory is. One purpose is meant that one should spent more time at an auspicious direction. *JOKE* Imagine, if we apply the above theory, that we need to spend more time at an auspicious sector, does it mean that we need to find an excuse for ourselves to go to the toilet. To the extreme, should we create a bookshelf in the toilet etc.. For the East toilet, we should also look at it from a global picture i.e. look at the entire layout plan. For example, it is inauspicious if the toilet is at the East and next to the main entrance door. I…

Dear Anon, Thanks for bring up this interesting question. If I am not mistaken, if it is written somewhere, most likely, the author should have instead say that whenever star #2 and #5 meet (or viz-a-viz #5 and #2 meet), this is already considered an inauspicious water and mountain star. If one is doing a manual calculation and find that with these two stars, there is say a mountain star at this sector, do check the calculations again. This is because, whenever there is a #2 and #5 (stars meet) one can never find a water or mountain star at this location. But one must remember that the base star can still have a 5 or 2 and there are instances where a mountain star will oc…

Dear Anon, 1. A recent message has provided the colours for all the various elements. Reference url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/colours.htm 2. Overall, one must remember that colours is secondary to Feng Shui. 3. Although it is quite important, but I have to emphasise that it is second to other more important points. For example, if one's house has a toilet at the centre of the house. The most likely effect is a drain in finances or problems with `retaining money.' 4. Other bad Feng Shui include a poison arrow aimed at the main entrance of the house. 5. More scary ones include the description of recent house where death will occur twice (I believe this is shown under th…

Dear Christina, Usually, Feng Shui specialises in the `omens' of the earth. And less of use in Love and Marriage. Unless one believes in sector Feng Shui and hope to have a good relationship i.e. by beautifying or enhancing say the South West sector (Romance). This is to me a flawed concept. You could either use Chinese astrology or Pillars of Destiny to help improve/understand your relationship. Overall there are two `modules' and it depends on your level of use of it:- 1. A basic way of understanding one's characteristics say under one's horoscope. Here, the nature of love is one of the great mysteries of life. One way you can improve your relationship and love life by…

1. Usually, having a home next to a retirement home to many is more of a "human or man - factors" then Feng Shui. 2. General, having a home next to a retirement home is near equivalent of a home next to say a temple or a fire station - of that nature. 3. While the garbage dump, (now golf hill) has more concern with how long it was there and any water e.g. a well etc.. will not be suitable. If one uses tap water running from the municipal, this is not a concern. 4. In your case, a very high weightage goes into the "human or man luck factor". Here, I assume that you and your family don't seem to feel very good staying in this home. Human or man luck plays a very high fa…

Hi Cecil, I came accross one of your old responses to a poison arrow issue dealing with "tit-a-tat" feng shui. The house accross from mine has several pointed roofs, and one is directly pointing at my main door (and is also on top of its main door). However, my house is the same floor plan but flipped so the pointed roof above my front door also directly faces my neighbor's main door and thus directly faces its pointed roof. Is that enough to create a "tit-a-tat" feng shui or do I need to cure the poison arrow? If I do need to cure the poison arrow, how would I go about it? Thanks!

Yes, if we consider the global concept of a weak fire person, then; real estate industry is considered as belonging to the earth element. Another varying view-point is that some may say that an agent's main job scope is into marketing or sales or renting out properties; this belong to the fire element. As fire adds to fire then it is considered acceptable. Of course better job scope is of the wood element as it helps fuel fire. Another critical factor in one's ba zi has the ten deities: which include various factors like how much: earned wealth vs luck wealth and othe factors like how much determination and competitiveness in that chart. Other personal factors like an i…

Dear Anon, 1. Wooden Ceiling beam The advise here is to use 6 `ancient' Chinese coins with square holes tied with red string. Here, Metal is used to destroy wood. 2. Cement ceiling beam Use two bamboo flutes to form the top profile of the Ba Gua symbol:- ____ / \ Here, the wooden bamboo flutes is used to destroy earth (cement) 3. Metal ceiling beam Here you can paint the beam red. As Red represents fire element and is used to destroy or control metal. What we are using is based on the Five Elements `Destructive Cycle'. Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, `lucky bamboo' is a marketing ploy. And the usual marketing ploy here is perhaps to ask a person to place it at the `East' side. Or the Wood area. 2. These my following reasons why using `lucky bamboo' may not be effective:- 2.1 Although East or South East is in my opinion, belonging to the Wood element, there is fundamentally no reason to use it there unless it can enhance the element at that sector. Under the Five elements concept, Wood (lucky bamboo) enhancing Wood has less of an effect. Assuming that Wood direction East is favourable, then water would be a better element. As water -> wood leads to a harmonious Five element concept. Howe…

Dear Master Robert Lee, Thank you for the generous reply. You mentioned about "So as long as you avoid having any major renovations in this sector or East sector of the house (which is the opposite of the location in conflict:West), then you are usually quite safe." May I know what is East conflicting with in the West? I know that 3 Killings is in the West, does this mean we can'trenovate anything that is opposite of 3 Killings? We are planning to paint the room in the South White to counter the 5 Yellows there in 2008. Thanks to your free auspicious date calculator, we will start the painting and moving of furnitures on 27 Dec, 2008 since the next few dates are ve…

In my opinion, #7 is acceptable given that it there are two worst combinations if I get you correctly. You have a #5 WS and a #9 MS. Here, fire #9 fuels #5 and further inflames it. In general #7 no need to disarm since it is the palace star and at the same time; although it is "bad metal" but it is a weak metal as #7. This #7 is not the main actorin this sector. #9 fuelling #5 is. Wood: here, there are "two classifications of it". 1. Wood : wood or wood tone or brown 2. Wood : Green colour (and artificial potted plants with greens). Wood under Para 1 is often considered neutral given that it in many homes, it is almost "everywhere". For example: parquet flooring or lami…
