Dear Angie, There are two sides of the coin to this:- 1. Generally, from a hobbist point of view, many things can affect the lifespan of fishes: such as the ph-level, water content, age of goldfish(es). 2. From a Feng Shui point-of-view, often, this is a blessing in disguise: as such deaths often are said to be 'sacrificial' to our own well-being. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The only thing that Feng Shui Masters advise is to place the dragon at the East wall. It should not " seemed " to be hungry (ie the dragon article you have ) as it will mean that you have problems feeding "yourself". However, in your case, you can collectilvely place all the dragons at one location. Preferably on the East side of your house and not the West side (yin side). A dragon can also be used to point at your entrance door `to guard it'. On the other hand, you can use it as an alternative to say a cannon to point at a posion arrow. Let me illustrative what I am currently facing:- When I first moved to my new house, it is a condominium with a swimming pool. Further …

Dear Kyra, 1. In my view, when we are uncertain whether a piece of advice will be effective, it is wise to refrain from placing the object in that particular location. 2. This aligns with the commonsense principles of Feng Shui. 3. For instance, many of us have encountered the notion that having a bedroom situated above a kitchen is considered 'inauspicious.' The reasoning behind this is based on common sense. In the event of a fire in the kitchen, smoke and flames rise, which would be unfavorable, especially if a fire were to occur there. 4. Likewise, if we position a mirror, such as one made of glass or silicone, near a heat source, the glass may not…

Dear Carla, CARLA MILLER wrote: I have found several homes that I really like but the Feng Shui for the house number is incompatible to me. Is there anyway the negative chi of a house number can be reversed (like adding a letter A or B) in order to be more positive for the owner? House Number has least overall impact over the house compared to the external shapes and form and interior feng shui. There are many ways to view the house number analysis. ie some people dislike house number with number 4, however, there are some people who don't mind the number 4. Therefore, a house number doesn't ha…

I have just moved to a new 10 years lucky cycle. I am a Yang Weak Wood and the new 10 years indicate I moved to the Yin Metal period. I understand Wood and Metal is conflict. Does that mean I will be face with difficulties and problems the upcoming 10 years and is there a remedy to counteract this conflicts?

Dear Simon, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, May 31, 1999 7:35 PM Subject: Two Homes !! The house which you are staying will have Feng Shui influence over you. The house which is rented will give the tenants the Feng Shui influence. You can only activate or bring the influence to you if you are staying in the house. Feng Shui is not by remote control, where you can enjoy feng shui from somewhere else. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Adrienne, 1. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui (both Eight House and Flying Star); there will be situations where two rooms may share one sector. 2. And this is quite common. Thus, if it is the Eight House theory (East/West group) of persons; if this is the bedroom, then, the bed can be situated at any of the two rooms especially if it is an auspicious sector where the bed can be placed in one or the other room. 3. Please note that this is the common experience as not all homes are aligned perfectly e.g. north--south or east--west alignment. And many times, one gua can be in two rooms. 4. Anyone using this site, for example must throw away " fixed template " asso…

Dear Tracy, Thank you for bring up this interesting question. 1. Stagnant water is always referred to as bad. For example, it is always considered highly inauspicious if one has a well at the front of the house. It is feared that a well (still water) is `host' for evil spirits. 2. Pagodas were built along water veins. And pagodas were built on sites to neutralise such Sha Qi. 3. Water Feng Shui also considers which direction the water flows. 3.1 In this example, url: http://www.geomancy.net/review/tropica/index.htm 3.2 You will find the statement " For example, two cities in China i.e. Amoy and Canton are situated at this Dragon-Tiger gate. This is where t…

Dear Nare, There is a short write-up on size at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm But the main consideration under Feng Shui for a new rectangular cabin are:- 1. Do not locate the toilet in the centre of the house. 2. Where possible, keep the cabin " rectangular " i.e. try not to have protrusion or a missing corner. You can find out more about this at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm. 3. One best way is to use the Free Feng Shui tool " Eight House Theory " to find you and your family's template. Here you can then look at which is your best door direction(s), bedroom and living room and where feasible, plan your house layout to suit your family members. This step…

Dear Linda, What you had mentioned is correct. Although the picture is of your engagement, my advise is not to hang it facing your desk as it is inauspicous to place a picture of a Catheral facing you. Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager

Dear Joe, Please read below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: Listmanager To: Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 1999 8:28 AM Subject: west house Eight House is limited as it only takes the year of your birth, this means that many people will have the same type of kua as you. Thus, it is only able to give you a general reading of your 4 good and 4 bad directions. It does not take into account the stars in your home. Say for example, if the stars in your bedroom could have formed a good combination which overrules your Eight House. So far its uses is only generally to find a suitable home. This means it is best to find a home with the main door that falls in any of the 4 …

1. Usually, an indepth study would have to be done to trouble-shoot what is the problem. 2. Frankly, as you had mentioned i.e. all things being equal e.g. no change in colours except for the change for single to queen sized bed. 3. In my opinion, it could either be one or both:- 3.1 The flying star #3 could most likely "land" e.g. in your master bedroom or main door. This #3 has to do with relationships. Frankly, unable to advise, you exactly where it is. 3.2 BUT, you may consider "trial and error" Feng Shui by having a night light or a table lamp especially best that has a red shade. usually such a lighting is used to burn or destroy this bad #3. Seriously, even if …

Haha.. Master quickly skipped this question. Hi Jinky, in Classical feng shui, we do not talk about the placement of objects like toads, coins etc. We know which school you are from and we respect that. However, classical fs talks about the landforms and the flow of chi in the exterior and interior of the property. The items at best offer psychological advantages to the occupants in the house but it does not alter the chi in the house. Thanks. Kevin

Dear Alicia, Frankly, this aspect does not really come under Feng Shui. This is because there are a few major considerations like the price. In certain countries where FS is `believed', I have known a few cases where the agent of the owners pointed out some good Feng Shui details of the house. The buyers were `convinced' that this is relatively good house and went ahead to purchase the house. On the destiny portion, the use of Pillars of Destiny such as a favourable time to view the house etc... is sometimes used in the region where I am staying. Otherwise, it would depend on the price etc... Good Luck in the sale of your house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Usually, the advise is to "go slow" with Feng Shui. It has also to do with what is the level of Feng Shui one is prepared to go into? The quickest way (but cost money) is to go for a Full Feng Shui audit by a competent FS practitioner. Else, if one wants to `learn' (learning is not good enough) but rather applying Feng Shui, one has to spent time and effort like any other disciplines. Like I mentioned, there are lots of resources available both e.g. in this website. Starting point: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/theory.htm or get yourself books on Feng Shui. For calculation under the Eight House, I recommend you spent sometime to browse through http://www.geomancy…

Dear Johanna, In fact, many people would fall into your category of having chosen "wrong homes". What is more important is a "holistic approach" to Feng Shui. What you had mentioned is like the "tip-of-the-ice-berg". Generally, what you had described has to do with the eight house theory. It is only one of the sub-divisions of the Compass School Feng Shui. As mentioned above, a holistic approach is if one really applies Feng Shui to review or access a situation or home / office is to apply:- a. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui b. Compass School: Eight House with Flying Star Thus, what you had described is just one sub-division of the Compass School Feng Shui. A full F…

Hi Cassandra Before going any further, I must ask, have you done a Pillars of Destiny Chart (there is a free one on this site) to find out your element ? If not may I suggest you do as if the colors chosen are not complimentary to your element you could have all sorts of problems. IMHO orange seems very strong for a bedroom. Too yang. Needs to be more yin otherwise sleep may be restless. Under the Eight House Directions is your bedroom in one of your auspicious sectors ? Best wishes Glyn

Dear Hanan, Please see below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Friday, July 16, 1999 7:38 AM Subject: i need some help in my directions If you have a compass, you can find the exact direction of your toilet (mainly the toilet bowl). Where best it should not preferably at exact Compass directions e.g. 0 degrees, 45 degrees, 90 degrees, 135 degrees, 180 degrees, 225 degrees, 270 degrees, 315 degrees. This is because most likely if a toilet is at these locations, it may fall in one of the auspicious sectors. Warmest Regards, Cecil
