Dear Anon, There is a logical reason why anything higher than a side table is not advisable. This is because if you look at the shelf at the side, the scorner closer to the bed will form a poison arrow which cuts into the bed. Since both side cuts into the bed, it is like an X. Which is bad feng shui. So not recommended. Even if you replaced it with a table, the same effect will be created unless you ensure that where you sit the poison arrow will not cut you. And/or at least if the corners are rounded, then not as bad. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Frankly, you may have to first find out whether your posting to this new position is permanent or not. And since you were posted as a quick fix, try to speak to your supervisor (Boss) that you are equally unhappy with the new post. Depending on your current work performance, length of stay in the company, the better your previous work performance in your existing posting the better it is for you to "bargain" with your boss. Most likely to see if you can work in this position temporarily - as a last resort. Warmest Regards, Cecil

In general, a kitchen contain lots of appliances. And if you are worried about the #5 falling into the kitchen, then one consolation is that hopefully one does have a refrigerator that matches this profile:- 1.1. A fridge especially if it is white or off-white or stainless steel is considered as a metal element. 1.2 Thus if one's frige is described above, and not yellow, then it is considered as a sizeable metal "chunk". And under the Five elements, metal is good to neutralise #5.

Dear Anon, 1. Star #2 has the `Earth' element. 2. A solid mass may inadvertently represent the Earth element. It is best to be cautious when activating a mountain star at #2 or #5. It may create an imbalance and activate e.g. the #2 causing sickness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Low Low, Generally, people always wants if possible to select auspicious dates whether it be for moving into the home, opening the door, opening a business etc. So generally, auspicious dates can be used in any of the areas. So long as you think it is an important event and need a date to do so. The Auspicious Dates analysis report is meant to do that. It does a detailed comparison based on each person's ba zi. As no one single person has the same luck. Then next is to check on the Tong Shu Dates to ensure like for example no one likes to move in during say the Qing Ming month etc. In your question, moving in is usually defined as selecting a date which you officially…

Dear Anthony, 1. The fact that we have been using an online analysis, is already a clear indication that a mathematical way to determine the weak and strong throughmathematical calculation. There is no publication of such a mathematical formula from what I know so far. You can always use our online report to assess any person to see if they should be considered weak or strong. http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm 2. There are two ways to go about that once you determined whether you are weak or strong:- a. By default as a weak metal for example, it would naturally mean that you either lack earth or metal, while you have too much of fire an…

Dear Elizabeth, In my opinion, the placemetn of e.g. family moneybox does not feature prominently in many schools of Feng Shui.' The only school of Feng Shui which is related more towards buddhism i.e. buddhist belief of the Eight Treasures. Feng Shui practitioners with such buddhist inclination often make use of the term Eight Treasures. And in fact, they ask their clients to bury e.g. the Eight Treasures (prior) to the house being ready at the main entrance and corners of e.g. the living room. I believe, you treasure your family moneybox and do not want to see it `buried'. As shown in the above example. You can choose to place your family moneybox in the living room or…

Hi Anon, For Eight House, this kind of opposite situations are quite common. Here is where you must apply the give and take approach. For example, the house should best fit the breadwinner earning most for the entire family. While the bedrooms should be suitable to other family members that will be staying there. So for example, if the breadwinner gets a Prosperity facing, even if he gets a lesser suitable bedroom ie spook / irritation, this should be fine. The breadwinner should then give the spouse a better room ie Health. That means that even if the spouse isn't that suitable to the house, she will draw luck from the more suitable bedroom. Other areas, you mu…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi, I run an aquarium business out of my home. I have active aquariums in all sectors of my home except the north, south-east,and the south. I have no problem with the fertility of my fish. I have a problem selling them and bringing money into the house. Can feng shui help my business survive? Frankly, I think feng shui may not help you directly here. Firstly, based on an aquarium business, if you only cater to neighbourhood sales, then unless people know about your business, no one may buy from you. If your target market is export or wholesale, then you might have problem competiting with other bigger aquarium business who have large aquariu…

Dear Gloria, 1. Does the cabinet of the TV or any other objects in your room form a sharp corner aimed at the bed? Or any beams above the bed. 2. Under Feng Shui, you can also check: 2.1 The Eight House Theory to see what are the intangible force at this sector of the room. To find out more on this theory and application: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm You can also use the computerized report at http://www.geomancy-online.com to generate the report. 2.2 The investigative method is to use the Flying Star Analysis to balance the house especially sectors that are out of balance. Most likely, there may be a sickness or misfortune star at that sector or other imbalance…

Dear Josephine, 1. Presently, from my personal observations, so far, I do not recall or find anyone, who was directly affected with books facing them. 2. However, based on the concept of " If one no longer sees it, it does not become a - threat ". One option, if you still want to cover the bookself is using e.g. a cloth or something of that nature or install cabinet doors. 3. Is the pillar pointed at the bed? If the pillar is not pointed towards the bed (but parallel to it this is OK. Not much one can do otherwise (to extend the "wall" or pillar such that it no longer becomes a pointed corner). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi, is it true thathome Main Hall Ceiling cannot be painted in blue? I heard people said that if it was painted in blue, it is as if we are under the water and we will have difficulty in breathing (financial stress, family problems.......eg) Generally, blue is generally water element under I-Ching concept, having water over you is like you are drowned under water. That is the general symoblic meaning. That is why for roofs of the house it is inauspicious to have blue/gray roof colour. But ultimately, whether or not the colour is good for the room also depends a lot on the flying star luck of the area. Generally, some stars benefit from havin…

Dear anon, No this would normally be not enough to fly to the new period. If possible, once some of the tiles are removed, leave it (perhaps, use a clear plastic sheet) to cover the missing area but generally one may have to place it back around 100 days later. Usually the morepromising thing is to do a major renovation. Thus, in my opinion, it is really a waste of time and money changing the main door since the frame is not changed at all. Besides this, a celebration or inviting a lion dance etc... would help... Warmest Regards, Cecil

(Note: For those who have not seen a `Tiger balm' medicated oil, check out this link: http://www.tigerbalm.com ) According to the description of this external medicine, it is used for the symptomatic relief of muscular aches and pains, sprains, insect bites, itching, headache. It is gently rubbed on affected parts. It contains: mehtnol, campor, mint old, clove oil, cajuput oil and paraffin. No, there is no evidence to suggest that carrying the tiger balm is `detriment' to luck. In addition, most of the time, it is kept in the bag and I do not anyone carrying it out openly in their hands. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rasika, 1. It is best to follow the `method' provided (totally) from a source and not mix e.g. what one reads from a book and `mix' the methods used in other book or website. 2. For example, in this website, the method used is to follow step-by-step instructions under: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm or use the free computerised Eight House report. In this website, you get a graphical diagram showing all the eight kua directions and each person's intangible force at e.g. North, South, East, West, NE, NW, SE, SW. Based on this website, you should find the centrepoint of the house and use an ordinary compass. Instructions are at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilco…

1. The professional approach is more than the simplistic view that since the home is facing "south-east"; it DOES NOT automatically mean that the best colour(s) is GREEN (SE = wood). 2. For example, most of the professional Feng Shui practitioners apply Flying Star Feng Shui. And if a SECTOR of a home does have a #3; this represents "BAD WOOD". And anything associated with green such as GREEN colour or green plants is considered inauspicious, here. 3. Thus the notion that SE = Wood, West = Metal, North = Water is too simplistic and often unfortunately, considered as "Kindergarten Feng Shui". 4. Traditionally professional Feng Shui practitioners would first look at Para…

1. Most likely, you notion of Career sector is based on a "fixed template"? model? If so, this fixed template model is a modern invention. And may not be true under Traditional Feng Shui accessment. 2. Under Traditional Feng Shui, it is best not to have a giant main entrance . As for a giant doorway, generally, it should not be an issue if it is part of the living area or the passageway. 3. Again, this "knowlege sector" is not based on Authentic Traditional Feng Shui. Quote: Three stairs go up through the giantdoorwayto the other side to enter the knowledge sector 4. What you had been applying is the modern invention. 1. In my opinion, from the top view, it does not look as bad or does not seem to have any issue. Perhaps, the normal view may show some issue or concern which we may not be aware off. 2. Should there be a concern or issue(s); some of the standard cure(s) could be:- 2.1. Gates that perhaps have wooden planks on them such that the block the offending view from "hurting" the main door. 2.2. Tilting door. (Warning... this should be done by an FS expert). 3. Otherwise, a small road is "peanuts" as compared to major issues like a "T" junction etc.... Y S. wrote: Is that a fengshui problem of this house? Further to what I had mentioned: 1. The key success factor is always: Location, location, location, location and location. 2. Here, it suggests the "Big picture" more towards Macro Feng Shui i.e. the External environment, the Site, the Building. This is akin to top jobs such as CEO, CFO, Senior Management positions. 3. Often, when we zoom into a unit or apartment; this is like the troops: and can range from the equivalent of middle management positions to clerical. 4. If one has been in the army, the site, building befits positions like Generals, Colonels, Majors. 5. While the unit or apartment is similar to non commissioned officers ranging from Lance-corporals, corpora…

Dear Anon, 1. For wooden floors, it is not so much of what is considered `best' in Feng Shui but more of "commonsense" or rather experience of using wooden floors. 2. For example, it is felt that it would be better for wooden or parquet floor tiles be used in a bedroom. This is because of the belief that: 2.1 when one wakes up, and gets out of the bed, it would be better to step on wooden floors. This is because wooden floors have less conductivity i.e. one do not feel cold or suddenly feel cold as the feet touches the floor. 2.2 Many people, work in their bedrooms i.e. study table. Therefore, it would be better for their feet to be in contact with a neutral floor i.e. wo…

Dear Carol, We can all appreciate your situation. In a confined space, there is not much one can do to relocate these items. However, this is not the `end of the world' as far as Feng Shui is concerned. In your case, just make sure that there is an `island' or a distance or gap especially between the stove and either the frige or the sink. Try to leave as much gap as possible. But a symbolic gap is still acceptable i.e. for example; 3 or more centimetres. Warmest Regards, Cecil
