Dear Elena, If the main door is at the facing direction, you may consider tilting it to away from this double facing position. Otherwise, frankly, there is no way of "tilting" the entire facing direction -- just not possible, here. For some homes, or landed property, some even correct it by changing the "facing direction" i.e. relocating say the living or rooms with high activity... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jen, From what you have written, there are basically two types of exit: 1. Entry/exits of "convenience" 2. an exit to fullfil a statutory requirement e.g. fire safety 1. Entry/exits of "convenience" ==================== As you have mentioned, often, many have a garage. And for ease of entry and exit to the garage an "exit" or entry door is located in this area towards the home. In addition, many homes do have a backdoor - to allow human activities at this location e.g. bringing out garbage, hanging or drying clothes etc... 2. an exit to fullfil a statutory requirement e.g. fire safety +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sometimes, an exit has to be built to …

Dear Anon, Under Feng Shui, there are several ways to go about it: 1. One's personal feelings. Often things like a small turtle or small water bowl, we often can place it at any location that we most likely, feel comfortable with. For plants, especially a single plant, we can still often, find a comfortable corner e.g. in the living / dining or around a corner of a home. But if one is growing a "jungle" or forest of plants or trees, it would be better to have them at the balcony or around the garden area of a landed property. For a singular fish tank, we can still place it often in a location for us to enjoy e.g. the living room. For a fountain, often, most likely, …

Further to what I had mentioned, if the glass blocks are squarish or rectangular - piled together to form a "wall", this is OK. Do avoid circular glass blocks - much like the pothole of a ship or those found on a ship i.e. circular windows. Here, circle is considered not auspicious especially since it could symbolise a "sinking" ship. Where, the pothole of a ship seeps in water and thus sinks a ship. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Glenetta, Frankly, as mentioned earlier, this has more to do with beliefs than Feng Shui. In my opinion, one could place the evelope perhaps at the same location where we often have a "central" focus or display or on a table. Sometimes, we could place it at convenient locations such as next to or close to the set of keys or the table where we place our wallet or set of car keys etc... I have never done this before -- i.e. the placement of a "wish" envelope, thus, perhaps, this could be the wrong place for such a question. To me, any place will do so long as the wind does not blow it away or a place where, it does not collect dust or placed into a location that aft…

Dear Anon, Frankly, this is difficult to solve considering that it flows under your foundation. In the past, a pagoda was erected - to help reduce the effects. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi In order to create some unique design to my master bedroom, the ceiling was designed in the way that half of it waswith false ceiling. And next time my bed would be placed under it. From your advice, I understand that it's not favourable to place bed under beam but not sure for false ceiling. My mum was very unhappy over it & keep stressing that it's very bad.Attached is a photo of the design of the false ceiling in my bedroom. Hope that you could give some advice. Thanks & regard.

Dear Glenetta, To be honest, this has more to do with beliefs than Feng Shui. Since the Chinese consider red as auspicious, usually, anything to do with red is favourable. For example, for us, the Hong Bao or red packet - which is a small red envelope is often given (with dollar notes e.g. $2 or $10) each. A sample of the red packet can be viewed under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?img=0&search=red+packet&cat=all&bool=and Often, the Chinese would buy red paper i.e. red on one side and white on the other side. They would write "lottery" numbers on this paper. If you want to you can do the same. Or if there is a pin…

Hi, I am just learning about feng shui in the hopes of improving my life, but love life in particular. I seem to have many bad chi objects in the room like a tv, bookshelf and mirron facing my bed in different directs and have a computer and candles in my room. What can I do to neutralize the room to promote good chi? I have added rose quartzes, red candle and a pink crystal in my SW corner. Incidentally, that is where my bed is too. Help!! Thanks in advance! Elaine

Please appreciate you could kindly give some advices. TQ

Dear Zan, For many years now, usually, you should be able to purchase the 2005 Chinese alamanac during the Chinese 7th Lunar month. Since this is often the time, the publication comes out of Hong Kong to Singapore. (Usually, you should be able to buy this 2005 alamanac from middle of August 2004 onwards. And once it is out, you can easily buy it from any HDB neighbourhood incense shop). If you can wait until then, no issue. Alternatively, you can check out our Auspicious date service:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-dates/po-dates.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Lee, Thank you so much for your reply. I will study more on flying star, and may actually use your service, since flying star is something I firmly believe (the other method, "kindergarten feng shui" --or as one calls it "mcbagua" cost me 140 dollars for an hour and nearly wrecked my prosperity!--I knew something quite didn't fit right. If I can figure it out on my own regarding flying star, I will, but I am considering using your service. I am mentally sending you a red envelope filled with lucky wishes and prosperity for your kind reply--let me know where I can mail the real thing for better luck! Sincerely, Lisa L. Pirkkala

Dear Ann, Frankly, in my opinion, I don't see any issue or problem using it. So long as, it should not be visible when one stands inside the home. This is because, symbolically, it is not good that we in our home see a "sha qi" or poison arrow. This is much like the concept: if we are to place e.g. a twin lion, it should preferably to plump (prosperous), smiling (harmonious) vs a fierce and ferocious item. Do try it and perhaps, do let know, later if it helps or not. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, If you are entering data into the reports under www.geomancy-online.com then, you should simply enter your western calendar date of birth. As our reports will automatically convert (use the Lunar calendar to evaluate). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Paris, I believe, in Singapore, like everywhere else, a good indicator of a home with good Shapes and Forms is the price of the apartment. Often, needless to say, especially an apartment with very good view, size, location and (other factors: proximity to MRT) would ofteninfluence the price. When looking at a home, frankly there are many considerations and it is best to bring all family members to view the potential new home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Since you are a strong wood person: Your best colour is Fire element (red, pink or purple). Your two other OK colours are earth and metal colours. Since you are a strong wood person: imagine that you are a strong tree (wood) and your roots has the ability to crush and anchor itself into the earth. Hence, earth is suppose to be your "wealth element". Therefore, your alternative best colour (in addition to red) belongs to the earth (yellow, cream or beige) colours. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Yes, in my opinion, often, a higher weightage goes to the owners who are staying in the home. For the occupants, it has more to do with their own bedroom, but as one knows, this is only one room as compared to an entire home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Pirkkala For a favourable placement of a fish tank, it is best to apply both the Shapes and Forms and Compass School : Flying Star Feng Shui Since your ba zi is a "strong fire" person, a fish tank is in general, favourable for you. However, as mentioned above: Shapes and Forms Feng Shui vs Flying Star Feng Shui Here, Shapes and Forms should be combined with Flying Star Feng Shui to look at the suitability of the placement of a water feature. Frankly, what you had mentioned i.e. best locations of fish tank e.g. at south-west etc... is considered "kindergarten type of Feng Shui". In the above senario, often, the most suitable location(s) for the fish tank is ofte…

Dear Hoa Luong, I reproduce the method for calculating the steps for the beneifit of some of the users, here:- --- Start --- Introduction: 1. In Feng Shui, there are two traditional methods of determining the number of steps. 2. The first method is a 3 number combination. Where the first two steps are Auspicious but the last step is inauspicious. METHOD 1 - THE THREE-STEP CYCLE ======== 3. Thus under the `Three-steps formula' step No. 1 (Auspicious), Step No. 2 (Inauspicious) while Step No. 3 is considered inauspicious. Usually this 3rd step is known as the `death' step. 3.1 Thus:- Following this method, one should be able to work out the number of steps:- 3.2 A…
