Dear Miriam, mir. station wrote: i'm hoping you can help me. i am moving to a new home next week. the master bedroom only has space for the headboard of the bed to be on the south wall. is there any cure for the poor placement of the bed? due to the size of the room the bed can only go there. i do not want to develop sleep problems! As you mentioned, since that is the only space you can place the headboard, there isn't much else you can do to position in another better favourable direction. So, in this case, there is nothing else you can do about this except to improve other areas of the room that you can correct. For example, make sure the room have a suitable colour s…

Dear Caroline, Perhaps, you can draw a sketch as I may not correctly get what you mean. Do you mean that when you walk thru the main entrance, you see the closet? How is the closet. Do one turn and walk in to the living room. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sheila, In my opinion, luck corners or `sector' Feng Shui or paying homage to corners are equally "non-existent' or unreliable / undependable situations. This is considered a modern invention is too general to be of use for many of us. You should treat the small figurine as a decor item in your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. A mountain star should not be activated in the centre of a room. A certain of a room should have clear space. 2. A mountain star cannot apply as and when we want it to. It has to be `found' and if there is a mountain star applied under certain conditions such as: - A backdoor or in a room. 3. No a ceiling fan (moving blades) even with a external decorative cover at the middle (with the magnetic coils) at the centre cannot be considered a mountain star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, 1. Becareful of the placement of dragon figurine or painting. 2. Check the number of claws on it. If there are five, then, it is considered very `yang'. Here, one is not familiar with the dragon (figurine or painting) - one should treat it more like `Ba Gua mirror' and not face inwards of the house. 3. In Hong Kong, it is said that it has nine dragons. Dragon landscape or dragon qi is usually coming from e.g. a hill or landscape and winding down a river or from a hill down to the `sea'. In Hong Kong, a hotel had created an opening from the back thru the glass panels into the sea. Another good example, is `The Sterling' condominium in Singapore. ( Do a search f…

Dear Krisztina, Since you mentioned hat you flat-share; within your room, yes; you can still do a "little" of Feng Shui. There are two approaches and both can be combined together:- 1. Eight House Compass School Feng Shui Try to determine whether you are either an East or West Group person. If not sure, can use the free tools provided under http://www.geomancy-online.com It is recommended that you should generate the best bed-head direction and best work/study table direction charts. And if possible, invest in a small compass. Once youhave all these, you can then try to see whether you can position your bed / study in the best possible directions (not withstanding t…

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, Feng Shui cannot help you in this area. 2. I heard of other methods e.g. acupuncture etc... Alternatively, if this sounds `scary', perhaps, you would like to find other programs or join a help group on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In the past, I had posted messages on living in a small room. 2. Under the outline of Chinese Metaphysics, the highest order is what is known as Tai-Ji. Below this level is the Yin and Yang concept. 3. Below the Yin and Yang Concept and if Eight House (Eight Mansions or also called Ba Cai) Feng Shui cannot be applied due to a small room, then the "higher" level Yin and Yang concept should be applied. 4. Here, Yang represents the day or bright or things equivalent to study, physical exercise. While Yin represents activities for relaxation and rest and sleep. 5. Especially for a student, which must have a balance between studies and sleep, many logically try to set a…

Chong Wee Wei wrote: Thank for your reply. I wish to know why a dinning room is not suitable to be near to main door. What is there are no others choice it must be near to main door, how we going to solve it? Wil it affect our career as me and my husband is doing sales related to food business? Dear Chong Wee Wei, There are two senarios, here: 1. Symbolism in Feng Shui Under symbolism in Feng Shui, it is best to avoid having items such as fork or occasional scissors on the dining table if it can be seen from the main entrance. As this could suggest : issues like quarrels in the home. In addition, the idea of having a empty rice bowl with a set of chopsticks on the di…

Dear Chee Guan, LIM CHEE GUAN DAVIDE wrote: we have seena house south east facing.my kua is 8 as my wife kua is 1. As facing SE is her sheng chi position but is my jue ming position. Should we proceed This depends on who is the breadwinner. If you are the breadwinner (which is usually the head or male of the house), then this isn't an ideal house for you. The house must first suit the breadwinner so that he can get the luck from the house. The spouse can then get a more suitable bedroom so that she can get the better luck from the bedroom. As mentioned, if you are the breadwinner, then this may not be the most advisable house at least from the suitability perspective.…

Dear Anon, Feng Shui is about earth luck. And usually an investigation using Flying Star can help detect any issues with regards to health in one's home. The tell tale signs of health issues are especially: 1. bad star numbers e.g. #5 with /or #2 with or #9 combined or in isolation 2. These stars fall either in the bedroom or frontage of the home. For example, for wealth wise, a Period 8, SW1 has good $$ prospect. But such a home potentially has to "take-care" of health issues/problems. For example: Period 8, SW1 :- Frontage SW has M5 W8 B5 Back NE has M8 W2 B2 As the frontage and back of the home are equally important, such a home has to control in particular bad…

There are two factors, here:- 1. In theory, under the Five Elements concept & Compass School; sounds reasonable. 2. Furthermore, under human factors; if it makes you feel good.. WHY NOT?

Dear Chris, Priority should be given to sleeping in a good sector. Only after this is taken care, then it would be nice or a bonus to sleep with the head facing a good direction. If one is unable to sleep in a good sector, the `consolation' is to sleep facing a good direction. BUT, all these should be taken into consideration only after one has considered the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui. For example, it is best not to sleep on the same wall as the toilet bowl even if it is one of our good or excellent sectors. Feng Shui is a holistic approach and the bedroom should not be considered in isolation. It is more important to`fix' any problems associated in the house t…

Dear Khairul, 1. In my opinion, there are many books available on Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 2. In architecture or interior design, Shapes and Form is the most applicable. 3. Other than the above, `space clearing' is a common topic. 4. Under this website, you can find many free resources: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/map.htm Particuarly, main topics like: The Landscape, The Site and The Home. 5. Alternatively, you can get like one user mentioned: Basic Feng Shui by Lillian Too. Many of her other books are either repetition or have in my opinion, many contradictions. Alternatively, get books that have a good mix of pictures/illustration and wordings (explanations). Warmest R…

Dear Jeanette, These should be the most important considerations (first):- 1. Sewerage pipe running below the home Try to check where the sewerage pipe / manhole runs in the home. Sometimes, it may run from the frontage towards the back of the home. In such a situation, check to see where possible, it does not run below a bedroom or the living room area. The best or (nice to have) is to have the sewerage system running from the backyard towards, the home. Here, often, toilets should be placed, first. 2. For a two storey home, try to work out the steps for the home. This is because, the number of steps have a significance. Please refer to the attached word d…

Dear Lee Hui, lee hui wrote: I am confused on how to determine the "Green dragon" n "White tiger" direction. Should i determineinside the house or outside the house before i step into the house. pls advise.Thank you. This all depends on which frontage/facing direction you take to evaluate this concept. For example, if you take the living room frontage, then the frontage comes the front where the phoenix should be while the back is the tortise and the East side or Left side of the house should be the Green Dragon while the West side or Right side of the house should be the White Tiger. So the best thing you can do is first determine the frontage, then assign the four sym…

Dear Anon, 1. It is difficult to look at Feng Shui from a micro view-point. This is often the `misconception' in Feng Shui. 2. If you are new to Feng Shui, it is best to consult a competent Feng Shui consultant to look at the site and advice on the layout of the interior of the house. 3. This is where the first `phase' is to look at the Shapes and Form School of the house i.e. the environment, the site and the plot of land. Here, this would help to identify, the frontage of the house, the position of the main door, any poison arrows and the back of the house. 4. You can further use the free tools available on the site e.g. the Eight House Chart to see which are the best …

Dear Hiii, The origin of this has more to do with commonsense than Feng Shui as traditional Chinese homes do not have a bedroom above the kitchen. (Especially if the is built on wooden material). Therefore, this is more of a commonsense that has been added to Feng Shui in modern times. As we are aware, fire moves or spread upwards or thru an opening e.g. windows. Which may reach the upper floors. Here, it would make more sense to `invest' in smoke detectors i.e. in the kitchen (which should be loud enough) to warn anyone staying in the home. If need be, the room above, or passage way leading towards the room could also be installed with fire detectors / and a handy fire e…

Good day..I hope you can enlighten me with my question. I had bought an apartment which the door is facing to the south at 180deg. The doorway is facing another apartment unit in front of it. Door facing door. There is also a balcony facing north at 345deg. AND there is a cemetery across the road of the balcony. I am on the 19th floor and my unit number is 1-19-9 My kua number is 2... Can you advise if I would be faced with 'issues' of luck and suitability?

1. In my opinion, when you mention "south on the bagua", I may rightly or wrongly come to the conclusion that you are getting a template and placing it over the layout plan. 2. If you are considering the "modern commercial invention" of fixed template Feng Shui, where this "joker" prepares a template with markings like: North (career) ....... then, this practise is NON Traditional Feng Shui. 3. As I have mentioned, TRADITIONAL Feng Shui is about taking the correct directions and superimposing say a Flying star chart. If you are applying Flying Star Feng Shui, then South is south, north is north based on the magnetic compass. If not sure, re-read, and re-read again. Alt…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'am planning to buy a house, which direction of the front door suit me the best, and in what postition is the master bedroom In order to answer that question, you will need to know what element you belong to and what is your 4 good and 4 bad direction. You should avoid having a house facing Death or Disaster which are to be avoided at all cost if possible. The …
