Dear Anon, 1. This depends on whether the main door is facing your auspicious direction. For example, if the slant is facing your Prosperity sector, this is better than say changing the door to it's original position if the door faces one of your inauspicious sectors. 2. The above is one of the techniques some FS practioners use to re-orientate the main door to an auspicious sector. 3. Some FS practioners even go to the extent of advising all their clients to slant their door if it happens to be facing NE (Devil's gate). Some go further and ask their clients to change the door if it also faces SW (Devil's backdoor). Here it depends and this should be looked into inconjun…

Dear Soo Juan, Yes, due to physical contraints, there is not much one can do here. The most important consideration is have a tidy kitchen. Here, remember to keep all forks, knifes and sharp objects of the kitchen. It is inauspicious if such items is placed in a situation, where when one opens the main entrance door, one sees such object(s) e.g. knives or sharp objects of the kitchen. It is preferred that the stove should not be in full view of the main door. If not, best to close the door leading to the kitchen. Here, the stove is usually a location where one suppose to keep the warmth and in such a situation, warmth is hard to retain. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. If you are using the Eight House Theory, you should also look at what is the influence in your bedroom. 2. Normally, we look at the Flying Star of the house particulary, the Main entrance door and the second door to see if these are auspicious. For example, if your house is constructed within 1984 to-date, and if there happens to be a Double 7s (this may sound technical) it implies that this door at NW sector is auspicious for the main door. So one should continue to use it. 3. If you do not want to use the Flying Star, then, I still feel that as you mentioned that SE door is not convenient, you should not use this door. For the main door, at NW, you shoul…

Dear Gayle, 1. Basically, the Eight House theory or East/West group of persons are but just one of the several concepts in Feng Shui. 2. Overall, one can say that this theory looks at: 2.1 how suitable the house is to e.g. the breadwinner. 2.2 Other areas that can be looked at is the intangible force at the bedroom location. 3. In my opinion, this concept or theory does not really have a `cure' for the above situation. This should normally not worry anyone - yet. 4. Foremost, we should look closely that an important consideration i.e. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. If you site and home has good feng shui, or even to `excellent' status, then, the Eight House is just a small f…

Dear Alison, You will be surprised to learn that many `good' houses have doors on the side of the house. For the following reasons:- 1. The greatest advantage of this is that their is simply no way of having a neigbhour's poison arrow or any poison arrow on the frontage of the house. In my opinion, it is thus advantages to have the main door at the side based on the above reasoning. 2. I am not there to see how narrow the side where the front door is. Ideally, it should be the space where a car can drive `thru'; parked and you can enter the main entrance door. This is the best (ideal senario) for a house with a side door. 3. On the question of Dragon and Tiger, to elabor…

Dear Saroah, Sarosh B wrote: I live in a building with a Ground Floor and Four Floors above it. Sarosh B wrote: My apartment is on the Ground Floor, so is my property a Landed property or Apartment as you have mentioned 2nd floor onwards for apartment. Given that you leave in an apartment, with likely 4 different owners in floors above you, therefore it is still considered an apartment. Thus, you should still take the main door as if it is a low floor (typically is 2nd-7th level). In your case, will be ground floor to 7th floor). Hope that helps. Dear Trini, Do try to check the influences especially at the bedroom. Where possible this is an auspicious location. There is not much that can be analysed using the Eight House Theory other than if the death or disaster line falls at the main entrance, keep the location `bright' and avoid leaving the door open unless you are using it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Grateful if you can describe in greater detail as I still not sure what u mean i.e. do you mean that as you enter the main door, there are two walls on each side like a larger main door within the house? Thanks. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lola, I glad that you find the information in the website useful. Please see below:- It is best that Qi can meander rather than go off directly thru and out of the house. If you do not see a direct path from the main door to the back, this is acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Yes, the key concept is to locate the "mouth" of a home. This mouth is considered vital as it allows qi to meander into the home. 2 A "mouth" needs to be opened, not all the time but at least, like a door or windows; need to open at least several times a day. Imagine, physically we have a mouth but never open it? Not even for food or water throughout the day? 3. You mentioned: "But these windows are never opened (due to extreme heat outside). what then?" Thus this set of windows if it is "sealed" for life does not "qualify" as the mouth of the home. 4. Your best bet is the other set of windows or the main door. But in my opinion, it looks more pronouced to use the o…

Dear Max Rosen, Happy new year to your too! Generally, the main door should be where your house number is located. However, for landed properties sometimes you have a choice of two entrance. Thus, it the main door becomes the one which you frequently use, as that is where the Qi enters and exit the house most frequently. Which one you should choose should depends on:- 1. Is that main door direction suitable to you (ie North-West, is it a good or bad sector for you - prosperity or diaster based on your Eight House Suitability) 2. Next depends on which has a better overall Stars (ie. which main door has overall better House analysis by the Flying Star report) Usually y…

Dear Frank, 1. If one is using an ordinary compass, the readings are taken from the centre-point of the house to the main entrance door. 2. For those who use a Luopan, then takes a reading from the main entrance door. The Luopan has a `sitting and facing direction'. And the reading thus will show the `sitting' direction. 3. In my opinion, the most accurate reading with an ordinary compass is from the centre-point of the house to the main entrance. 4. If you need further clarifications or confirmation, feel free to fax your layout plan to me at 065 - 6482 0570 with a return fax number or email address so that I can confirm the centre-point. 5. If you need to change the com…

Dear Jagannath, Usually, one has to look at the building opposite your hotel also i.e. the element of that particular building when looking at the colours of the main entrance doors. Option 1: 1. Fire element (Red) - Usually the is an auspicious colour for the Chinese: 1.1. It is in harmony with SW (Earth) sector. 1.2. Iti s a colour suitable for " Food Related " and it signifies activity i.e. Marketing and Sales. Option 2: 2. Wood element (Brown or Green) - Natural wood or brown signifies growth for the business. Option 1 is usually the best option when brass is oraments are included in the red door. For the size of the main door, it has to be proportionate to the entir…

Dear Master, Just a general enquiry on door sizes and if there are any concerns. My main door is 7 ft high while I intend to install a sliding glass door separating the dry and wet kitchen. This however is 9 ft high. The location of the main door and sliding glass door is not aligned. However, I did heard that it is best to keep the main door as the biggest. As such, is it advised to reduce the height of the sliding glass door opening to 7 ft, with 2ft fixed glass panel? Or is it ok to still keep the glass door 9 ft high? Thanks and really appreciate the advice.

Hi Angela, Angela Le wrote: I wrote last time, but you werent' able to answer because my picture did not attach. My question was, "how would you read the main entrance if the main front door faces west and the garage faces west too, but when you park your car in the garage and use the garage door to enter the home, it falls on the SW Line. So which one is it if you use the garage door as your main entrance? West or SW? Since your home is a landed property, you take the facing from the main door entry (not from the car garage). This will also be the general facing of your home. Either way, both faces West. As such your home is considered a West house. This is the general …

Dear Anon, 1. The symbolic method to making another main door is to place the house no. on that door instead of the `actual' main entrance door. 2. In my opinion, one can still use the other `main door' and it is not necessary to `seal' off that door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Frankly, as explained; in my previous message. One has to be realistic... I don't get to see your layout nor working.. and I have already shared the "best practise" technique.(In addition; it is implied that the compass readings and even the flying star chart = is correct).

Dear Hoa Luong, Please see below:- Yes. From the centre-point of your house and with the use of an ordinary compass, if your master bedroom face south-west then this should be correct. Or if the compass shows that your bathroom is at south direction then this is correct. There is no cure for this. Please refer to a recent message that I had replied to on this same subject. Actually one can do a SEARCH in the forum for key words like " Kitchen " and the following will show up:- -- Start -- Topic: Cures for Bedroom Over Garage?
