Dear Anon, Basically, in terms of bed placement. You should follow these priority:- 1. It is most important that the bedroom is located at the one of the 4 good directions based on the Eight House concept. Meaning that if you divide the house from the centerpoint, your bedroom should be located West (in your case). As long as the bedroom is in a good sector, the issue of the bed position becomes less of an issue, as regardless of where you actually sleep, you are still sleeping in a suitable sector of the house. 2. As rooms are small now-a-days, so it is frankly, very difficult for most people to have the luxuary to arrange furnitures so that it can fit the best placem…

Further to what I had mentioned, often, a good Feng Shui practitioner will often use "water element" instead of fire element (if given the choice to neutralise e.g. a #7 under Period 8 Feng Shui.) As we have already known: #7 = weak metal element. And under the productive cycle of the 5 elements concept, water helps to draw out "metal" or helps to reduce or neutralise it. Although the fire element can be used to "control" #7 or weak metal, under certain circumstances, it may not always be the best choice. This is because, we should not forget that there are #5 and #2 both bad earth elements "floating" around the time dimension. In a worst case senario where in the ev…

Dear Oliv, Firstly, Good Luck in selling of your home! Most of the time, the practical advise is/are: 1. Where possible, if the home needs a fresh coat of paint, this is a very good investment. 2. If the home is tenanted or occupied, it is always best to keep the home neat, tidy and remove as much clutter as possible. Generally, from a Feng Shui point of view, unless the home has some good sailent Feng Shui advantages e.g. it has a good view, or the home is e.g. a NE facing etc... Here, the buyer should be appreciative of what is good Feng Shui in particular for the home. Otherwise, most of the time, price is one of the major considerations as well as how well…

Dear Anon, Perhaps, this could be a coincidence. Note: this is not Feng Shui, but is quite common activity for some Chinese that are truly down on their luck:- However, for the Chinese, some would prior to taking a bath:- 1. purchase a few limes. Cut the limes into 4 quarters. 2. purchased assorted flowers. get ready the above and place them in a small basin of luke warm water After bathing, just pour this water with lime/flowers over our head . Next, dry ourselves with bath rope. And collect the items and throw them away. Often, avoid going into the toilet for the next 2 hours or so. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, The idea behind the 7th month is that when we TAKE POSESSION of a home, some fear that during the seven months, spirits may wonder into our new home. Just last year, I believe, there was an article in the Straits Times, Singapore that says that some developers were even launching new developments during the seven month. It would be rather silly to say that when we sign an option to purchase a home, the ghost would follow us to sign the agreement? Does this make sense or it is a silly notion? Why are we so afraid of doings things in the 7th month? If the whole world is afraid of the 7th month then: 1. No one wants to travel e.g. fly. 2. No one wants to "…

Hi Cecil, Due to my compressed kitchen, I have no choice but to position my stove(with theknob)facing the Main Door (with a brick wall in between that separates my living and kitchen area). Since there is a brick wall that prevent a person standing at the main door to looking directly to the stove, is this position acceptable in feng shui ? If not, how do I overcome it without movingand changingmy stove ? thank you.

Dear Cecil, (sorry.. if this seems to appear again, i seem to have problem posting this) Thanks alot for your help on the kitchen! Really appreciate that! I have a few more questions which I need some help on: 1. DiningTable - (please see attached picture A) If our dining table is not placeddirectly in front of the main door of the house but sort of on the diagonal side of the wall, is there a problem with it? How can we rectify if it's a problem? 2. Living Room Windows (from same picture A)We did away with our balcony and converted that to part of the living room. But we realise that from our living room windows, one of the apartments from the opposite block ha…

Door Sitting room Dining part of Kitchen Hall Toilet Utility Room Dining room Kitchen I am confused by the eight mansions charts which show the door in the middle in the sheng chi wealth area every time which would mean my house would be missing lots of areas.

Hi Anon, A large part has to do with the external factors such as the boss calling the shots. I am afraid there is very little you can do in terms of Feng Shui to cure the situation. You will have to work hard to changing the boss opinion of you through better human to human relationship. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear William, For move in date, what is usually needed is the Name, Gender & Dateof birth(& if possible hour of birth) of the Breadwinner and Spouse. You will also need the date range which you plan to move into the house. ie Jul 2005 to Aug 2005 etc. It would seem that your house will be completed about a year later, so why not look for the date nearer that time. Unless of course, you meant Aug 2004. We have an auspicious date for two person to help you narrow down the best possible date for that month. You can use that to help you find a move in date, start of renovation etc. But it will require which months to search into. Something similiar to our Monthly…

If the door is facing west but is in the south west corner of the house, do we count it as facing SW or do we count it as facing West? In the 8 mansions chart, if the door is always in the Sheng Chi area it seems to be in the middle is it is facing West.

I am looking for some simple cures (either with colors or placement of some objects) for relationship with the mgmt/bosses and smooth flow of daily work. My boss's boss is under stress and I happened to say something that touched him off. To say the least, I am in the dog house with him when it used to be a very positive relationship. What can I remedy to create a better flow and communitcation with the boss/mgmt.

Dear Anon, Frankly, this has not much to do with the need to place a symbolic object to "neutralise it". But rather, this issue has more to do with the "Commonsense approach" to Feng Shui. This is because, most of the time, it was felt that chances of a fire occuring in a home -- the most likely occurence could be from the kitchen. And since fire and heat travel upwards, this is our main concern. But in modern times, I would rather "invest" in having smoke detector(s) -- if you have not one already fitted than the bottle gourd. Here, there is a good chance that (touch-wood) in the event of a fire -- the smoke detector would go off and warn us. But the bottle gourd …

Dear LH, Thanks for the clarification. Yes, using the adage: "If one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat". In your example, since the stove does not face the main door (directly) in full view, it is not a "threat" to it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- In your case, actually, there is no harm to try and work on both Period6 and Period 7 Flying star Feng Shui. Since you have stayed in your home for quite sometime, you can take the opportunity to see which chart (P7 or P6) that is a better match to your home. The above method of doing two charts is in my opinion, a practical and sound practise amongst good Feng Shui practitioners and equally applies to everyone keen to understand their home birth chart. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, As the Pinnacle will be one of the tallest housing board apartments, usually at the higher floors, in my opinion, there is not a major issue in either looking out to the bay or city , harbour view. What is more important considerations are: 1. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui Where possible, avoid having the unit balcony, bedrooms directly facing the afternoon WEST sun. What would be worst is an apartment that is facing exactly West to East (Or East -- west) apartment. Here, the apartment will not be spared the mercy of both morning and afternoon sun! 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui Facing directions like NE is particuarly auspicious under Period 8 (whic…

Dear Anon, As mentioned earlier, it is illegal or it infringes copyright to simply "cut-paste" things like location maps without manually adding words like source and credit to the respective copyright owners. The easiest alternative is to create a hyper link to the source. For example:- http://www.streetdirectory.com.sg/map.jsp?x=19672.4172&y=36180.1755&postal=659879&building_name=CALTEX+SERVICE+STATION&house_blk_no=50&road_name=BUKIT+BATOK+EAST+AVENUE+3&heading=CALTEX+SERVICE+STATION%3CBR%3E50+BUKIT+BATOK+EAST+AVENUE+3%2C+SINGAPORE+659879 The above is an acceptable convention, as it will bring us to the exact site to view the layout plan. Dear Louis, Under Geomancy, it works on the premise of the "Holy Trinity of Luck" i.e. Heaven factors Earth factors Human factors Under Heaven factors ---------------------- Under geomancy: Ba Zi is used to look at relationships - favourable or clashes. It is much like the Chinese astrology where we have different animal signs: such as one partner could be a "Rat person" while the other partner could be a "Horse person". Under Chinese horoscope, for example a rat's worst compatibility is a horse person etc... Under Earth factors -------------------- Flying star Feng Shui can be used to identify "quarrelsome stars" especially #4 or #3. Other Earth factors includes …

Dear Anon, For the Hulu or bottle gourd, often, this is used in place of a set of six-coins or wind chime. The purpose of the hulu is in Feng Shui, suppose to "suck in bad qi". For example, many Chinese Feng Shui practitioners hang it above the bed in response of bad flying star numbers like #5 or #2 sickness stars. The purpose is to "suck" in bad sickness qi. Sometimes it is also used or hung in place of the alternative partition i.e. especially if the main entrance door face the balcony window (directly). Warmest Regards, Cecil
