Dear Frank, 1. If one is using an ordinary compass, the readings are taken from the centre-point of the house to the main entrance door. 2. For those who use a Luopan, then takes a reading from the main entrance door. The Luopan has a `sitting and facing direction'. And the reading thus will show the `sitting' direction. 3. In my opinion, the most accurate reading with an ordinary compass is from the centre-point of the house to the main entrance. 4. If you need further clarifications or confirmation, feel free to fax your layout plan to me at 065 - 6482 0570 with a return fax number or email address so that I can confirm the centre-point. 5. If you need to change the com…

Dear Jagannath, Usually, one has to look at the building opposite your hotel also i.e. the element of that particular building when looking at the colours of the main entrance doors. Option 1: 1. Fire element (Red) - Usually the is an auspicious colour for the Chinese: 1.1. It is in harmony with SW (Earth) sector. 1.2. Iti s a colour suitable for " Food Related " and it signifies activity i.e. Marketing and Sales. Option 2: 2. Wood element (Brown or Green) - Natural wood or brown signifies growth for the business. Option 1 is usually the best option when brass is oraments are included in the red door. For the size of the main door, it has to be proportionate to the entir…

Dear Master, Just a general enquiry on door sizes and if there are any concerns. My main door is 7 ft high while I intend to install a sliding glass door separating the dry and wet kitchen. This however is 9 ft high. The location of the main door and sliding glass door is not aligned. However, I did heard that it is best to keep the main door as the biggest. As such, is it advised to reduce the height of the sliding glass door opening to 7 ft, with 2ft fixed glass panel? Or is it ok to still keep the glass door 9 ft high? Thanks and really appreciate the advice.

Hi Angela, Angela Le wrote: I wrote last time, but you werent' able to answer because my picture did not attach. My question was, "how would you read the main entrance if the main front door faces west and the garage faces west too, but when you park your car in the garage and use the garage door to enter the home, it falls on the SW Line. So which one is it if you use the garage door as your main entrance? West or SW? Since your home is a landed property, you take the facing from the main door entry (not from the car garage). This will also be the general facing of your home. Either way, both faces West. As such your home is considered a West house. This is the general …

Dear Anon, 1. The symbolic method to making another main door is to place the house no. on that door instead of the `actual' main entrance door. 2. In my opinion, one can still use the other `main door' and it is not necessary to `seal' off that door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Frankly, as explained; in my previous message. One has to be realistic... I don't get to see your layout nor working.. and I have already shared the "best practise" technique.(In addition; it is implied that the compass readings and even the flying star chart = is correct).

Dear Hoa Luong, Please see below:- Yes. From the centre-point of your house and with the use of an ordinary compass, if your master bedroom face south-west then this should be correct. Or if the compass shows that your bathroom is at south direction then this is correct. There is no cure for this. Please refer to a recent message that I had replied to on this same subject. Actually one can do a SEARCH in the forum for key words like " Kitchen " and the following will show up:- -- Start -- Topic: Cures for Bedroom Over Garage? 1. Frankly, even amongst (us) geomancer's; many of us cannot even agree on the issue of the facing direction. 2. But the main concensus is that the facing direction can be the door, the facaade of the building, the stack BUT However, it should be the place where it has the most yang qi. 3. Usually if it is an existing home, there should be some "history". If so, several flying charts could be created and analysed. 4. An experienced geomancer, would normally analyse the habit(s) of their client; e.g. always close or open their main door, windows fully or partially opened or closed all the time. The activity area such as the living room etc.... 5. Therefore, it is wishf…

Dear Vi King, 1. In my opinion, the compass reading for the purpose of determining i.e. the Flying Star chart and Eight House Chart. It is best to use the wooden door entrance. 2. Looking at the `brightest side' or frontage of the house is: 2.1 It is very easy for anyone even say a practitioner to regard e.g. the sliding glass window(s) as the "main entrance" area. But, usually this is quite a large area spanning many degrees. The question asked is: if there are many sliding panels? where do we place the location of the door? 2.2 Here, it is easy to say, but difficult to apply even for a FS practitioner. Even, say a FS practitioner pointed out (if there is 4 panel sliding…

Dear Yew-Meng, In Feng Shui, for the purpose of taking readings under the Flying Star Feng Shui; it is best to still take the compass readings from the main door. Usually, under Flying Star Feng Shui, the two most common method of accessing a home is:- 1. As mentioned earlier, to take the compass direction of the main door from the centre-point. 2. Another method, using the luopan is to face the luopan (from inside the main door) facing outwards). Since the main door is often facing the frontage of the house. 3. In both cases, the concern is more of the main door or the frontage. 4. It is secondary, if you are using the back door as the main door here. As most of the anal…

Dear Anon, This is not exactly true. In traditional Feng Shui, it is common for a FS practioner to advise the home owner to instead tilt the door facing one of his good direction. Here, it is adviseable to consult a FS consultant on the exact tilt degree. In the above situation, it is said that one kills two bird with one stone. For example if the door happens to be an inauspicious direction, by tilting the door to an auspicious direction, it solves the problem of the inauspicious door and also enable the owner to have the door face his good direction. Other than the above, it is also quite common for a FS practioner to advise his client to tilt the door especially if it…

1. If you had done a Search using the SEARCH button on the TOP left frame in this forum you can easily find these resources:- 2. For example, it is simply commonsense that for most bedrooms the overhead beam is only a few inches "deep". 3. And commonsensedictates that no one sleeps so close to the bed-head frame. We have the bed frame, we have the pillow. And by the time we place our head on the pillow; the saying goes "fear not" your head will normallybe so far away from this "so called beam". Dear Kieren, In my opinion, what you mentioned is the wrong direction to take in auditing a home. What you mentioned suggests that Feng Shui is akin to using `fixed templates'. For example, it is too general to say that North = Water. Although, that particular sector could be related to Water. But, it does not take into consideration: 1. A person's element and strength i.e. weak wood etc.... There is again a difference if one is e.g. say a weak wood or weak water. 2. If Feng Shui is that simple, and if wealth is so readily available, how is it that no one can yet come up with a book soley about `Wealth'. 3. Unfortunately, there are some books that may give reference to wh…

Dear Sky, 1. Currently, you are using just the Eight House Theory. The main importance of this theory looks at how suitable the house is especially to the breadwinner. 2. You can also check what is the intangible force for each of you in the bedroom. Where possible, this should be one of the good intangible force (if possible). Other than these two points, you can look at the house from other angles. 3. Since, you are referencing the house using the Eight House Theory, and if you do not want to apply the other compass theory such as Flying Star, you may have rely on your instincts. As you mentioned, since both of you feel positive about the house, this is a good sign. 4. …

Dear Anon, Further to what I had mentioned; we can draw a parallel to taking an examination or (test). For example: A person is taking a language examination (e.g. a second language other than the mother tongue such as Spanish or Mandarin.) In order to pass this examination we have to take the following tests:- The Mandarin Examination paper comprises:- SECTION 1: 1. An Oral conversation test. (10 marks out of 100 marks) Objective: This test is to show our ability to speak or converse in Mandarion. SECTION 2: 2. An essay test. (40 marks out of 100 marks) Objective: This test is to test our ability to write in mandarion. SECTION 3: 3. A final exam paper consisting of m…

Good day Master, I have a few questions to seek your advise. 1. My home has "two" entrances. Based on feng shui, which one should be consider my "entrance" 2. At the first main entrance, my main door is partially blocked by my neighbour home. What should I do to make more Sheng Qi ? I understood that right angle from the wall causes Sha Qi? In this case, my neighbour home has a 90deg wall pointing at my entrance. 3. From my living room, i can see opposite block roof corner. What is good to fix this Sha Qi? I've attached picture for your help Master. Thanks a million.

Dear Anon, Based on what you had explained, the more common approact is the door which you enter the actual living space and not the door at the ground level before approaching the living space. The rationale is because if one takes the `exterior' door, the compass direction extends outwards and it is hard to pinpoint the main entrance door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Doreen, 1. Based on the Eight House Theory, this implies that the house is not the best suited for you and your husband. 2. Usually, this is not the "end of the world". 3. You should also consider the intangible force affecting both of you in the bedroom. If possible, the person with the more auspicious intangible force sleeps closer to the direction and the other spouse sleeps on the opposite site (shielded by the spouse). 4. It is best to keep the main entrance area `bright' and natural lighting (if possible). Hi, I have a question regarding the main entrance door and the bedroom door. The problem is that the bedroom door is lined directly opposite to the main entrance door. From what i know about Feng Shui, that kind of alignment is not good. So, i really wanted to know how can i improve or change on that? Please advice, thank you.

Bad Architectural Design: Erh.. Fire that bloody architect! In this development: Punggol Sapphire, Punggol Field Road, there are units where standing at the main door; one could see the shared or common bin. This common bin is where all the tenants in the same floor bring their litter to be thrown into this common bin. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, and symbolism; most people don't like to open their main door directly seeing the common bin.
