Dear Sandi, Thanks for your New Year wishes. In general, there are three levels of analysis:- 1. Shapes and Form School 1.1. For the main door, check that there is no poison arrows aimed at the door or through the windows. To look out for: - edges of buildings aimed at the main door or window. (Here, you need to stand at the main door entrance facing out of the house. Similiarly stand inside the house looking out of the windows). - check that there is no lone or single lampost e.g. slicing into the house. 1.2. Position of toilets - where possible the toilet is not at the centre of the house, next to the main door etc.. - avoid having the bed rest on the same wall as the …

Dear Anon, If the house was built between 1983 to the present, it will still be considered a Period 7 house i.e. no change. Some FS practitioners consider the repainting of the roof (as a means to changing the birth chart of the house). The `significant' thing you mentioned is the replacing of the floor tiles (which to some FS practitioners may consider a change in birth chart. While some FS practitioners consider a change of structure or a major change of birth chart. What is considered a change of birth chart is debateable and has to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. In Flying Star analysis, it is good to plot the birth chart of the two periods (if they are of a dif…

Dear Anon, Frankly, looks like, in-order to replace the mirror it has to be prised /cracked to reply. Actually, I feel that: 1. Often, the first is based on "Common-sense approach". One reason why, it is not favourable to break the glass is because of splinters or shards of glass. Proper cleaning after the removal is OK. 2. Any since the glass is already chipped, so long as you are not the one removing it, I feel that this is OK. Where possible, or a more practical approach is to let the workmen remove-it while you do not see the activity. 3. Here, you are not the one breaking up the glass. 4. If you have not moved-in, yet, it is better! Do all this before your actual m…

Hi Anon, Quote: I'd like to find out when is the Qing Ming festival in year 2006. Does Qing Ming always start and end on the same Lunar Calendar dates every year? The start of Qing Ming Festival is always on 4th / 5th / 6th Apr (Western Calendar). Some modern people will start Qing Ming as early as two weeks before, whereas most people will do it within the month of Qing Ming. It can last for as long as 1 month. As such there is no fixed date for the end of the Qing Ming. Start of Qing Ming for 2006 is 5 Apr 2006. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I understand that flying star 8(be it a mountain star or water star), it is considered auspicious star in period 8. Would like to know, in period 9, whether flying star 8 remains as good star or otherwise. Shall I conclude that flying star 8 remains as a good star in any periods. The same star number found as the reigning period will always be the current prosperity. ie. Period 8 Fading Prosperity = star 7 Current Prosperity = star 8 Future Prosperity = star 9 ie. Period 9 Fading Prosperity = star 8 Current Prosperity = star 9 Future Prosperity = star 1 So the answer to your question is that your star 8 will be fading prosperity when it c…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, usually, suggestion 2 and 3 are a better solution than suggestion 1. This is because actual water is harder to maintain e.g. algae growth and it could be a hive of baterial growth if water is not changed frequently. And furthermore, since the kitchen is a balance of "hot" (fire) and "cold" (water) such a water urn could also create an imbalance at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Could you please throw some advice on How to find the House Number and Cures for the Bad Numbers. Your advice will benefit all the members of geomancy. I won't go into the calculation details as it is all done by our free report. This report basically is an extension of the Flying Star concept. It's purpose is to assist users to determine which unit number is deemed more auspicious. This is especially useful when there are two units layout exactly the same, except one is one 4th level and another is on 7th level. So this report will be useful to determine which unit wil have better unit number Qi. Since this report is basically an extension…

Dear Butter, 1. There are two alternatives: 1.1 This may not be practical but it is always good to use a good compass with relatively good mass. But if you cannot obtain one or find it not worth the while than follow para 1.2 (see below) 1.2 Method 1, go to an empty plot of land nearby or a grass field (becareful not to wear any jewellery or take a few readings from the grass field incase it does also have metallic objects on the ground. After which, get a layout plan and try to `superimpose' the north-south direction on the layout plan. 1.3 The next alternative is to follow the surveyor's method under this picture:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Do not tak…

Dear Cheui May, Usually, the "main door" is where the house number or apartment number is placed. The other entrance which does not have this is usually called the "side door". Normally, we advise the use of the side door for those users who already have an existing house with a main door which is not suitable for them to use the alternative side door especially if it is better. However, if you have not purchase a house, it would still be better if you find a house with the main door as the best direction rather than use the alternative side door. It will help if you use the side door although it is not a good as the true main door. Usually used as an alternative sol…

Dear Liz, 1. As mountain star suggest, if you own a home that has a few levels, the mountain star should be activated at the ground level of the house rather than at any upper floors. 2. It should not be activated at the ground level and again at the upper levels. 3. To properly activate a mountain star it should preferablly be at the back of the house or at the backdoor area. 3.1 Imagine that the mountain should be protecting the back of the house. 3.2 One should imagine that the frontage or passage ways should always be of clear space. 3.3 If one wants to activate the mountain star, it can still be done, provided it is available and at the wall that does not have a wind…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My husband and I live in an HDB 3 room flat. There are only 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom happens to be in his spook direction and my excellent direction. The other bedroom happens to be my death direction and his prosperity direction. Where should we place our bed? The master bedroom is overall a better direction for both of you. Reason is because if either person is Death or Disaster, then it won't really benefit. At least Spook or Disaster is acceptable. This is especially if the house suits your husband, then even if he has the least favourable room it is fine. The reason is because he will gain luck from the house. The better bedroom luc…

Dear Anon, 1. I was pondering over your question. Reading it and replying other questions and re-reading it. I literally end up `scratching' my head - not so much as how to answer this type of question but rather, how to do it `effectively'. 2. Anyway, paying homage to a sector or Feng Shui based on life associations or aspirations is not gonna work - for many of us. 3. It does not matter if the `career sector' is in the bedroom or as you had mentioned the toilet. In my opinion, it does not matter. When we apply Feng Shui, we try to apply Feng Shui that can work for most of us. And this is one aspect `paying homage' to a sector or sector Feng Shui.... does not seem to wor…

Dear Lisa, If you have read previous messages, usually, the fastest way to change to a new period is thru a major renovation. However, based on your description of work done, these are mostly cosmetic changes, thus most likely have not changed qi, yet. Currently, there may be some differences in the thinking as to what constitues a change of qi or period if one does not do a major renovation in the home. However, I will try to explain as best as I can some of the more realistic ways that we can help our home change it's qi:- 1. One school of thought is that unlike a landed property that has a roof, thus often, a large number of practitioner would advise to remove roof…

My house that I want to cell is empty now, and we live in another city. Sorry, but Feng Shui is not a miracle cure for all problems. There is nothing you can do to just make your house sell faster. If your house has good feng shui, you maybe can make use of that point to help promote your house as good house to get the interest of buyer. But other than that, there is nothing much feng shui can do to help you. You would be better off relying on the following:- 1) Get a very competent real estate agent with good networking to pr…

In the past, I had posted some actual case examples of real life Feng Shui done for clients. These samples are still available in the forum. For example, please see attachment. It shows clearly how to integrate the Eight Mansions (rather than Aspirations) with the Flying Star Chart.

Dear Anon, To be truly honest, it is best for you to consider seeking professional FS advise on this. This is because even for the kitchen, considerations like which part (compass direction) is the kitchen located. For the kitchen, things like certain locations e.g. NW (fire at heaven's gate), kitchen fitting the spouse etc.. have to be considered. Thus, it may sound simple, but these are some of the issues. If no major renovation is done, things like placing mirror(s) in the kitchen are some of the alternatives, used. Besides this, the kitchen may or may not be the direct or major cause of the problem(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elena, 1. More importantly, the centre of the house would be a major consideration. The impact at the middle of the roof, should not be an issue here. 2. In my opinion, you can still place this unit so long as it is on one side of the roof (centrally is acceptable) where possible try to `balance' it equally between the side of the roof. 3. The centrepoint concept applies more towards the interior of the home where centrepoint preferably is clear space. 4. For the roof, so long as your roof is symmetrical, this additional object should not have an impact. Where possible, the piping should not `drip' down to the centrepoint of the house (as this would not be good). It…

Dear H Kt, 1. Thank you for sharing with us the confusion that arises with wind chimes. Plus the various types of wind chimes. 2. Furthermore, there are so many books written on how `effective' it can be used to enhance our lifes. 3. Generally, in life, we should not have any taboos i.e. if we happen to see something we really like go ahead and get it. However, the `confusion' arise usually, when we INTEND to purchase e.g. the wind chime for the sake of improving our luck etc... 4. Here, more often, we may want to purchase more than 1 wind chime or on the advise of some Feng Shui practitioners, place wind chimes at several locations. In my opinion, I have encountered many…

Dear Jill, Most importantly, if a new condo has been developed (and nearly ready) e.g. waiting for TOP and if we are allowed entry , it is best to bring all family members along to view the unit. Especially try to view the unit in the afternoon e.g. 3 or 4pm to check whether it is affected by the afternoon sun. Do note that because of the earth's axis tilt, there can be a slight shift in the sun's rays every six-months. Units that "soak" in lots of heat ... are practically "unliveable" as it may result in frequent quarrels and also it is not practical or cost effect to turn on the air-con unit all the time. The "rule-of-thumb" usually sets in. Often, needless to say, …

Dear David, In general, it is good to understand the purpose of the eight house theory:- 1. The Eight House theory is usually used to look at locations where one spent the most time at. Thus, it is good that your sleeping direction is excellent. However, primary importance is given to the location where you spent most time at. Only after this has been looked at should one look at sleeping facing a good direction. 2. Spook is not as favourable but not as bad as death or disaster intangible force. 3. To find out how suitable the house is to a person, you can also look at the intangible force affecting the main entrance door sector. 4. Good facing directions. Sit facing a go…

Dear Anon, 1. I assume here is that there is an open window facing the sharp pointed roof of your neighbours'. 2. If the above is true, then the concept " if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat' can be applied. 3. You can use a day curtain to screen the house from the pointed sharp edge. 4. If this is a solid wall and even if there is a pointed edge, it has no impact on your master bedroom. 5. It is common for a Ba Gua, can be used to neutralise such Sha (poison arrow) Qi. 6. It is best to stand at the window to confirm by looking out to guage if the sharp edge really points to your bedroom. If it is on the side, this is usually not a threat. Warmest Regards…
