Dear Carol, So far, Feng Shui has not come to the dogs yet. In the olden days, priority of Feng Shui goes to searching a site for a community e.g. a large city. This would also apply to a site or a building or a home. Therefore, in the past the emphasis of Feng Shui is not like what we are doing, looking for `cures'. As for pet dogs, there is currently no mention of this anywhere on the best place to place them in cages. I guess dogs used to roam around and the Chinese (unfortunately) enjoy eating them. (I hope this statement is not offensive or replusive, as I do not mean any harm. If so, I sincerely apologise as I am stating the fact of life that some Chinese people do …

Dear Fred, Usually, it is best to leave it to fate for a baby to be born. In cessarian birth, where the date and time can be predicited, this is still possible. Currently, it is possible to generate a pillars for each date (time would have to be predeterimined each day or left out) but, personally, I do not have the time to generate and analyse on this. Perhaps, we may consider doing this at a later date. Our main concern is currently helping quite alot of people with `problems.' Hope u understand our situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Alex, In general, toilet positions at true compass directions including a toilet directly at the North East are considered inauspicious. For example, in building a new home, it would be ideal not to situate the toilet directly at true compass directions such as e.g. 0 degrees - North; 45 degrees - North East; 90 degrees - East and at SE, South, SW, West & NW. One reason is because, the Compass School of Feng Shui places significance to such directions where, each Gua or Kua (Trigram) is located. Where best, the toilet is situated away from these degrees. A more accurate situation is not to locate them especially/particularly the toilet bowl, at 15 degrees increm…

1. You have to determine your Ba Zi element, first:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-personal-element.htm 2. As ultimately, your ba zi element will determine whether you are a weak or strong element. And your element could belong to either: metal, water, wood, fire or earth. As being a "water dog" is not enough information.

Dear Cheui May, By taking the sector, North is water, this is one of the usage under a another theory known as Ba Zhi Feng Shui. However, there is some disadvantage with this theory. It is because, for those who are not sure about this application and simply take North is water thus assume that it is suitable to a person is not 100 percent correct. As there are many other factors to consider e.g. clashes, triple combinations, twin combinations, harm, punishment, self-punishment and the 24 mountain element. If all these are not taken into account, the Ba Zhi Feng Shui is as static as using the Eight Aspirations theory where SW is romance etc... If you really want to use …

Dear Wasis, 1. In Feng Shui, the Chinese Loupan can be used as a `ghost' detector. Especially if the middle compass `swings'. 2. Under the Flying Star analysis, by looking at the 9 grids where there are #mountain #water and base numbers with a high concentration of YIN elements, this is most likely a case where there can be a haunting at the sector. This is particularly so, at the sectors North East (Devil's gate) and South West (Devil's back door). The interpretation of the Flying Star numbers can sometimes contain e.g. rope, young lady and red. Here, the interpretation could be a possible suicide e.g. a Young lady dressed in red hung herself. 3. Other methods is based o…

Dear Jane, In my opinion, this is the first time I come across the comment that growing money plants would take away luck. Perhaps, some may consider the money plant a vine. This is because, it has the ability to grow roots and cling on to walls. Maybe because of this perception that it may take away luck. Otherwise, in my opinion, there should not be any issue on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, This also has to depend on the regulations of individual countries. For example, in Singapore, today, all apartment especially those next to or in-close proximity to either the lifts or emergency staircase must use at least a half-hour fire rated main entrance door. Thus doors with such glass designs are out -- as it is against government building regulations. For other countries e.g. Malaysia, you may have to confirm whether it can be used. Locally in Singapore, most people -- even those living in the landed property avoid having partial glass doors because more of "custom" i.e. not quite used to the IDEA (in our minds) as it invokes "danger" real or unrea…

Hi Anon, True Feng Shui does not really make use of any feng shui items or products. Feng Shui is all about creating a harmonious environment for everyone to life in. This means like ensuring the surrounding and interior of the home are properly layout, furnitures are arranged for best placement, bed placements, colour scheme etc. Such items does not have any magical effect nor do they come with any warranty that says that once you use it, it will bring you wealth or luck in X days. Feel free to wear or use it if you like the item, but do not expect any mircle from it in terms of Feng Shui point of view. Such items we normally classify as Human Luck factor. If it makes…

Dear Rebecca, 1. I hope you can understand that it is difficult for me with this general information to give you any advise. 2. Perhaps, you can check out for any practitioners in your area. 3. For a SE facing home, it also depends on the age of the home ( 1984 to 2003 = Period 7; 1964 to 1983 = Period 6 or earlier home). In addition, the individual layout of your home especially the bedroom / kitchen etc... has to be considered also. Best of Luck!

Dear Amanda, In my opinion, it is difficult to associate a vehicle problems with self - Feng Shui. However, under the Five elements concept, we could chose a colour of a car that harmonises with our element. For example, a person with `weak wood' can be advised to purchase a car that is blue or green. (First choice: Blue/grey or black). As FS and Pillars are holistic methods, one may have to look at one's element and strength, the house Feng Shui (where we try to avoid or neutralise `bad luck' such as sectors of the house with `misfortune' #5 stars (if we are basing to FS/ Pillars). Otherwise, it could be real mechanical problems with your car etc... Warmest Regards, Ceci…

Dear Anon, Yes, imagine standing as the stove. The direction the stove faces is the direction it is facing. Thus if the stove is exactly located at WEST, it is facing EAST. This is in-line with your understanding. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some considerations:- 1. In my opinion, your question is like ebony and ivory: 20 year or annual (full stop). 2. There are a-lot of considerations even if one wants to say which is more powerful. 3. As mentioned under Para 2, there are indeed ALOT of other considerations. Thus for annual or annual cures, it depends on individual homes and the result may not be similar for every Tom, Dick or Harry. Other factors include: Heaven luck, man or human luck factors, philantrophy, education da da da .de de de da da... 3.1. In theory, of course, based on the most timely stars, logically, an academic would claim that annual is "more powerful". Even so, this is considere…

Dear Anon, You can use the free House Number report under http://www.geomancy-online.com to find out if the number is favourable or not. This report is based on the vertical Flying Star Feng Shui analysis based on 81 combinations with the assumption that each floor has a different level of qi - flow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear JE, Under Period 8, in my opinion, especially for the central palace, one need not need to "lock" or neutralise the #5 at the central palace given that there is a Base #8, here. For the following general reasons: 1. It would look very odd to have a windchime at the centrepoint of the home. 2. Furthermore, in most homes, the windchime at the centrepoint is "stagnant" does not chime at all. 3. If it (windchime) does chime, it can make a pretty "disturbing" noise throughout the other rooms in the home. 4. Since #8 is an earth element and is the "wealth " element of period 8, a windchime may seem to kill #5 but it can also kill #8 totally -- the wealth # for Peri…

They consider me to be negative energy to them, andam afraid if they are practicing feng shui too, what happens if they are doingsomething similar, like using mirrors to reflect my energy back to me? Does this cancel it out? Frankly, a lot of feng shui practises that advise the use of ba gua or mirror against say another neighbour isn't usually friendly application of Feng Shui. Why do I say that? Simple. If you do that, your neighbours will have no choice but to do the same …

1. The most sensible approach, here is based on the concept of Maximizing Marks:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks 2. Here, it is good to draw a chart, should one decide to say compare between two or more homes; for example:- Is the main door sector a good sector under Flying Star? Yes / No The master bedroom : Is it good for me under the Eight Mansions and try to check out what is the Eight Mansions in relation to where the toilet, kitchen etc... And under Flying Star, where is the water star #8 located. Is it wasted in the kitchen area? etc... Thus one cans take note how many good points vs bad points for each of the home under some of …

Dear Cheui May, 1. In the field of Feng Shui, Chinese divinty, Chinese astrology, Chinese medicine and all other areas, it calls for balance. Moderation is the `key'. Thus, if you are a weak water person, adding `metal' is acceptable (but moderately). 2. Under the `33.3 percent ruleset', usually, if the area or volume is less than this, the object is usually of minimal effect on a person. For example, as you had mentioned, a small ring with a tiny jade or diamond, even it is a `3 carats' diamond ring is only a small object. While, a `T'shirt, covers a significant part of the body. Thus it is more effective e.g. to wear e.g. a white T-shirt which, in my opinion, covers mor…

Dear Wasis, 1. I personally think that a lot more issues should be taken into consideration, first. 2. I have always found the management concept: Situational approach - " It depends ". 3. It happened that, particularly in Singapore, we have a small island and majority lives in high rise buildings. 4. One must understand that as a building goes up (vertical); often, the building is at the `mercy' of the elements. 5. For example, taking my most recent comments on the condo: The Yardley. Some of the units are in a direct compass East-West line. 6. In addition, just imagine that this unit is e.g. at 7 floor/storey. And that there are no other buildings or trees to shade this…

Dear Patricia, Yes, in particular, even if your home has a combination of ten, it is good to review the layout plan to see if the home could or could not benefit from a change of Period. For example, as you had mentioned theparticular concern iswhcih part of the home the north #7's fall into. If this is the living room or activityarea orroom, then, one may seriously have to consider "flying" toperiod 8.Again, you need to study the Period 8 chartto see if the layout plan is suitable for activating double auspicous #8 at the South sector as well as other good sectors like SW and West. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: I live in a south 2 period 7 house in all rooms there i…

Dear Mr. Lee, In the flying star report, it is stated as follows: Mountain Star is found in the front of the house, while Water Star is found at the back of the house. This is deemed inauspicious unless there is water at the back and mountain in front to reinforce this formation. Can I create mountain in the front and water at the back myself? What would you recommend to rectify the situation. Thank you in advance.
