Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: whenselecting an auspicious date for wedding, will it make a differenceif weuse only the chinese horoscope (sheng xiao) of the wedding couple andtheir parents? i.e. the date & time of birth of the wedding couple are not considered. Yes, if you just use horoscope then you will be defined as Horse, Pig etc. Given that all person born in the same year will be the sameanimal sign, thus the animal signs which you clash with will be the same for all person born in the year. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: From the Bazhi Summary, all the members of my household are suitable to stay in a north facing house. Will it be even better if we alsolive in the northern part of Singapore, such as Woodlands and Yishun? Yes, if you consider the ba zi direction, choosing a North of a country is one way of adding more Water to the person. Ba Zi direction is typically used in Macro analysis rather than micro analysis. Macro analysis is such as countries located in North, or North part of the country, or direction of travel North wards. For such analysis, ba zi element and direction would be better. Micro analysis is more like facing of a home, or sector of b…

Dear Roeland, Roeland de Looff wrote: Suppose someone is weak wood and sitting ina sector in which the woodstars 3 or 4 are prominent. Although these stars are no good in a general sense will these stars benefit the weak wood person? Not really. This is because a sector has several influence at work, even though there is a star 3/4 which are wood element. That person might benefit a little from it, but not really a great deal. Given that the flying star sector has 20year/year/month/day stars changing all the time, as such even ifa presence of star 3/4 is there, it isn't enough to be considered a Wood element presence. This isn't as strong as staying in the East dir…

Dear Steve, Steve Jhun wrote: I'm a first timer on the theories of Feng Shui and I really enjoy this site. I'm planning to purchase a home. Based on the 8 house chart, I'm a SE person, and the true front door faces NE. However, I recall reading somewhere that if I primarily use the garage door entrance to the home, I should be using that as the Front Door. Firstly, glad that you enjoyed the website. For the facing direction of the house, you need to first check if your home is an apartment or landed property. We have laid down some new guidelines so that users will not be so confused about the facing direction anymore:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-c…

Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: Question: If someone's house number is, as an example, 90 and their Kua number is 1, is there any benefit to penciling in a 1 to make the house number appear as if it is 190 or 901 (which would add up to a 1) even though it is really not? However, in your mailing address it will still be written as 90 right? So it is not going to really help instead it may make your postman frustrating to locate your home. As mentioned in many other post, auspicious number is really subjective and different people have different preference. I can tell you some people dislike 4, but there are others who will love it. The luck of a home does not come from …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Does a block number of a flat/apartment have any significance in feng shui audit? The feng shui luck comes from the house interior and exterior surrounding layout. So the location of where the block is located and how it faces is more important than the unit number or apartment number. So you should focused a good layout or good surrounding rather than just the number. You should only consider the unit number only after you have made sure the house and surrounding are good. ie if there is two units of the same layout and facing direction, but one on higher or lower floor. Then you can check which unit number is better. Otherwise, block or ap…

Dear Fanty Fang, Fanty Fang wrote: I want to build house in near future. I want to have water pond since my element is strong fire. My question is where should i build that water pond (facing what direction) ? Frankly, I never like to answer such questions, this is because the only true way to determine which is the best location to place any water feature is to first have a detailed analysis done on the home to find out where are the auspicious stars and how is the surrounding environment. Only then will you know exactly where will be the most beneficial place to place a water feature that can effectively trap wealth. To simply tell you that it is good to place here a…

Dear Cindy, Would firstly appreciate that you do not post a message without any message content. Anyway, a house birthdate is defined as when the house was built (ie 1999 (would be a period 7 house). If there are renovations (especially major ones), ie hacking of walls or changing of interior structure of the house or expansion of the house etc. Such major renovations may cause a birthdate to be changed to a new period. So in such cases where major renovation was done after the house was built, the house might be converted to the year the major renovation was done. Hope that helps. Hi Mary, Finding work is probably work itself. I know many many people who do not practice Feng Shui and still are able to find good jobs. Here are some of my suggestions to enhance your luck with work. 1. Get educated. Beats working for McDonalds and settling into a career that you enjoy doing will take you to success. 2. Go for a make over. Change bad habits, create a positive attitiude. Be confident in yourself and if needs be, get a nice hair cut and upgrade your clothes. 3. Aim for the top. Companiesneed tolook at you as a valued worker rather than a burden to the company. 4. Excercise. Keeping yourself in good shape and good health will improve the soul. 5. S…

Dear Guest, In terms of studying, you should try to take a look at:- 1. Either your study direction, should try to face one of your 4 good directions under your eight house chart:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm 2. Make sure also that you take note especially on where the sun enters into your room. Try to to study against the glare of the sun or where the sun light shines onto your table as it can be very distractive under such situation. Or where too much sunlight especially shining on the walls of your room can also make it very warm and thus very distractive. 3. The last thing to check is sometimes, it could be due to the colour sc…

Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask if the breadwinner of the house is Strong Wood and water is his unfavourable element, can he still have a fish tank in his house if his house has a W8 in the right position. A little of everything even the unfavourable element is acceptable but too much will not be favourable for a Strong Wood person anymore. In this case, the flying star W8 is the water wealth sector. This will superceed the requirement of the ba zi. As what you are activating is the water wealth. So having a water feature there will be ok as long as it is in the right position where the water wealth is located. So even if the person is a Strong Wood, he can still …

Dear Angela, Angela Le wrote: 20-Year Reigning Period: 8 (2004-2023) Does this mean the information provided to me applies only to a house built between 2004 -2023? In the house hunting report, this period refers to houses built within 2004-2023. This is because the flying star influence is calculated based on the 2004-2023 so the best houses in period 8 will be different if it is built earlier in period 7. Thus, when you do a house hunting report, you normally prepare a period 7 and period 8. For houses built in period 7, you look at the best direction recommended in period 7 report, while if the houses are built in period 8 look at the best direction recommende din p…

As long as you haven't made any major renovations to change to the new period. A period 7 house will remain a period 7 house luck. So the double7 will still be auspicious. Remember in feng shui say a period 7, star 6 is fading prospertity, star 7 is currentprosperity and star 8 is future prosperity. So you should look at the star 8 because it is the future prosperity star in addition to the star 7. Only difference lies in that star 7 on its own will start to revert to a Robbery Star. So luck will be a little less auspici…

If I have built in cabinets to make the walls straight, does it help? Yes, sloping walls tend to create additional poison arrow, so not very good in feng shui perspective. In feng shui, as long as you can no longer see the threat, it no longer becomes an issue. So by building a cabinet to hide the slope will be one way to resolve this sha qi. The other way is if your ceiling is very high, a false ceiling is also another away to conceal such sloping walls or any beams. These are usually the most effective sol…
