1. Sorry to hear about your problems. 2. Have taken a look at the three photos. Two of the photos, relating to the views taken of the tree and your main entrance = from a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui point of view - seems OK. 3. The huge tree trunk seems to be slicing thru the large windows. Most likely this is your living room? Thus based on external Shapes and Forms, it is good that you should try to disarm or neutralise this threat from the tree. 4. As the tree trunk seems to pose a "threat" to the home, please see attachment:- Marking A - most effective if you can place a convex mirror as shown in the diagram Marking B - if the convex mirror has been placed; i…

Dear Henry, Usually, adding an ancient coin (I believe it is the same as your Yin/Yang coin) or is this a different coin should not be a problem. I understand that some e.g. Buddha stone figurines have been `blessed' and may be considered charms. This may have some effect. For your Yin/Yang coin, so long as it is not being blessed similar to the above, it usually would in my opinion, not pose any problems to the wearer. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jolene, Frankly, it is difficult or impractical to hide this corner. An alternative is to use a poster bed with screens or curtains ... but again, this may not be a practical solution. A metal wind chime can be used in such a situation to neutralise the corner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Amy, In general: 1. Colours are important in Feng Shui. Thus, do check the type of colour(s) used. 2. White - represents metal element. And if the room is in white colour, it already has one component which is metal. 3. Colours like cream or beige or yellow belongs to the earth element. And rooms that are painted in these colours and if there are #2 (bad sickness earth) and #5 (bad earth - misfortune/sickness). If the room has been painted this colour or other colours in the room e.g. curtains used cream or yellow, then, metal should be used, here. 4. Where possible for neutralising #5 - constant metal is needed. Cures for this would range from: 4.1. 6 rod metal w…

Dear Anne, For an `L' shaped layout or even a distorted `L' shaped layout plan, it is usually best to divide the `L' into two rectangles or two squares. Each rectangle/square is evaluated overlaying the 9-square grid. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Usually, the significance of a windchime is not related to the Kua (Gua Number). Under Traditional Feng Shui, it is particularly commonly used at locations with #5 (misfortune) sector of the home. Especially if it is made of metal. The generation of metallic sounds is useful to neutralise #5. In your case, if you do rely on the above, can, at your own preference, try to find a place, in your home to place it. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear A.A, In general `proper' Feng Shui is about improving one's Earth Luck. An understanding of one's Pillars and making full use of one's element and strength i.e. to map one's Heaven Luck and then try to `change' things is another luck. It is said that improving one's Heaven and Earth luck would indeed help a person. Please see below: Proper use of the above, can indeed help to improve one's luck and chances. It is good that you also have an initial `impression' on the apartment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Under Shapes of Form Feng Shui what is more important is that: 1. There should be clear space at the frontage of the house. (The bird or red phoenix) 2. There should be a solid backing at the back of the house i.e. tortise. These two aspects of Feng Shui are two very important factors. So which ever a house is facing where best have the above. Thus no matter if it is a `west' or other facing house; it should have the above. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, I believe, in Singapore and everywhere else, needless to say, usually "better" Feng Shui homes or apartments (especially in choice) locations often common a higher premium than others. Thus, this is why for most condos, units facing "good views" such as the water feature (pool) etc often can command a higher price than say a unit next to, facing the dustbin area etc... Although Feng Shui is a major consideration, often when it comes to resale apartments, the usual "bad comments" are: 1. This is a "west" facing home or apartment - - quite hot 2. Fire station Yes, not so much of Feng Shui, but imagine the "noise" of the sirens ringing or the station activa…

Dear Anon, 1. Is it possible to draw a sketch using any drawing program or scanned image of the relative size and position of this `poison' arrow in relation to the door. 2.Is the cement block corner pointed towards the door or `parallel' to it. 3. When you mentioned that your toilet is at the SW corner: 3.1 Is it sharing an external wall of the house. 3.2 Is it at the True compass degree SW i.e. 184 Degrees direction. Usually, I believe, in your case, the toilet is not (1) at the centre of the house (2) What made you `concerned' about the toilet at SW i.e. is next to your masterbedroom i.e. bed against it? ... Dear Anon, Thank you for bring up an interesting question. A career related to fire element is always considered as your wealth element. Here, there is a distinction between whether you are weak or not. Even if you are weak, your career with wealth is still the Fire element. If you are in a career related with Fire, for a weak water person, you need to strengthen your weak water with metal element to benefit from such a career. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Often, one can look at the Tung Shu to find out a general date for move-in. Most of the time, a very general date is the 1st lunar and/or the 15th lunar month of any months other than Qing Ming or the 7th month. As for the auspicious date under Geomancy.net, these are paid report(s) and not free. The report considers both clashes in the Tung Shu and individualised to the breadwinner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. The key success factor in a home is: location, location and location. 2. There is a difference between a "good house" and and "excellent house". 3. An excellent house is overall a `good house' plus it takes advantage of it's environment - to give it better Feng Shui. 4. An excellent house often makes use of it's external surroundings to give it a greater advantage i.e. it `sucks' or `soak' in wealth. 4.1 For example, it's main door is posited at a specific location that `collects' wealth from other developments or houses. Much like water draining (wealth) into the house. 4.2 Often, if the above is rare or cannot be physically achieved; the next best thing i…

Dear Anon, Generally, what you cannot see no longer becomes a threat. So if you based on this concept, whatever you can do to make sure that you cannot directly the poison arrow is considered a solution to the problem. Usually, for example a fence or a row of plants that can help to block the view are good solutions for an external posion arrow. Hope that helps. Dear Alan, 1. Yes, the arowana fish is popular as it can be quite expensive. 2. Usually, such fish (which if taken care properly) can grow reasonably large). 3. The Yin and Yang concept: How many fish to rear? More often, 1 (lonely) arowana is reared in a fish tank. 4. This is usually the common practise and in line with the Yin / Yang concept. Where, Yin = equal numbers and Yang = odd numbers. 5. Thus, ideally, 1 arowana fish is reared in the fish tank. Here, since water is considered Yin, the 1 (odd) number fish is considered Yang. There is thus a balance of Yin and Yang in this situation. 6. This also applies to other fishes reared. If one takes into consideration the …

Dear Benjamin, Please see below:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm 2. The above analysis of the door direction using an ordinary compass will help or assist one to determine compass direction of the main entrance door. This info is required as an input for generating the Flying Star Chart and/or the Eight House Chart. 3. For the Flying Star Chart, accuracy must be in the range of + or - 15 degrees in order to get the correct orientation e.g. North 1, or North 2 or North 3?. 4. With the above information, then a chart such as the Flying Star Chart can be drawn and items placed within one of the 9x9 grid or a pie chart of 8 sectors under the Flying Star Char…

Dear Camelia, Camelia Estrada wrote: I am in the process of buying a new home. Each home has a model number. Should I consider the model # as important as the future street number and evaluate it on your house # section? Frankly, house number plays the least amount of impact on the house luck. The external shapes and form and the feng shui of the house itself is most important. Most will focus on the unit number only if there are two units of the exact same layout ie one is #04-01 the other is #08-01. Say you have such a choice then, you want to check to see which is better luck. In most cases, auspicious number analysis can be subjective. For example, if going just…

Dear Chee Kiat, Please see below:- No, under Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, unless one is going for `battle' or in an era, where, it is used for self defense, one should not place the steel sword. This is because, objects such as this if displayed is considered `sha qi' or bad qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The link can be found here: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-face.htm In fact, other than to see a doctor; some people managed to use a strand of their hair and tie a knot to `kill' or starve the mole. And often, it drops off after a few days. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carlos, Wow! Double #5's are bad enough (Misfortune/sickness x 2). But with the addition of #9 (strong fire), this is a "potent" inauspicious combination. Since strong fire further fuels strong earth #5 x2. If you can, usually, a set of wind chime could be used outside the bedroom e.g. window area to dissipate this three combined inauspicious combination. In addition, it is best to use metal cure inside this room to further negate the bad sector. Try to avoid: Check the room for presence of Earth element i.e. earth tones e.g. cream, beige or yellow. And further avoid any Fire (red, pink or purple) colour in the room. The most common is to check that the walls are not…

Dear Anon, Yes, what I mentioned in the Applied Feng Shui course is primarily based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Since (OFTEN) locations that we can place a water position even under Flying Star Feng Shui have to meet the criteria that there is sufficient clear-space to allow for a water position. This is why, in some homes, even if the water wealth position such as double 8's under Period 8, can still be at the "sitting" position e.g. the back of the house. And if the back of the house is the lounge or family room or patio, then, this is a favourable location to activate water wealth position. If the pictures are simply "decorations", then since NW has the water wealth…
