Dear Becky, 1. Yes, you brought up a good point. Often, you will see Feng Shui practitioners analysing a birth chart of a house. Without due consideration of e.g. two parties (husband and wife) sharing a room. 2. Please check out this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/cmplist-comparison-pillars-rep.htm 3. This sample report gives a comparison of e.g. husband (strong metal) and wife (weak wood). The binding elements to get the two parties to be compatible or reduce conflict is Water element. 4. Thus, this is known as the `binding' element. And it is recommended that for the bedroom of the two persons; we can use the binding element of water. And if they ow…

Dear Sanjay, It depends. Often for the purpose of looking at an office; we often sectionalise or subdivide each room / office room into sectors. But for a home, it is much easier to take the complete home and do a full single chart. But if one's home is huge e.g. the left wing or the right wing etc.. than it can be further subdivided. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil and friends, I've just bought a new condo, the blue horizon at west coast cresent. I'm wondering how's the feng shui of this project by far east. The unit i've bought is a 2+1 unit at the 4th floor tower A. Why it attract me is because the surrounding has no blockage. We're facing the japanese school and west coast park. It is very windy and bright. Our unit is directly in front of the roof top garden, which is near BBQ pit. Alot of people might think that near BBQ pit will be very noisy and no privacy, but by far, I've not seen a single soul using there or sitting around there because most residence would prefer to do their BBQ by the swimming pool or club ho…

Dear Anon, The best form of `metal' element is one's clothings. Where possible try to wear white coloured clothings. For example, for men, you can continue to wear dark colored trousers and the best colour for shirts are white or white with `gold'. You need not necessarily wear all white but even white shirt with stripes etc... Same concept for ladies. For a car colour, it would be nice to have a white colored car or gold/yellow colour. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Evelyn, It is best to look at the overall `Shapes and Form' of the room and the placement of your table and chair. Here, it is best to position the table and chair so that one can immediately see who is coming into the room (room door). Since, you have a half-height wall (for support), this is less of a `problem'. In my opinion, the placement that you have currently is quite acceptable. If you can, you could try to have the blinds or curtains. But this is not a real issue unless, there are poison arrow(s) aimed into the house thru this window. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hoa Luong, Yes, not so much of Feng Shui but roller shutter e.g. aluminum pull-down are good security measures to protect or act as a deterent - for the glass panels. This quite a common feature even in my country and many shops use them without any ill effects on Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Diane, Since you do not use the main entrance, this should be ok. But if you are using the carpark entrance, try to relate the qi flow from this into the house. Is it possible for you to provide a sketch, for a better understanding of the situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kaushal, 1. Some FS practitioners mentioned that to `energise' the centre of the house, some recommend, placing symbolically the 5 elements e.g. at this location. For example, it could be the use of colours e.g. a piece of string say in the 5 colours or use of other materials such as beads. 2. In my opinion, many excellent or good houses have characteristics of `clear space' or walk space at the centre-point of the house. Here, if there is `clear space' it would thus not be possible; for example, for a toilet to be at this location. 3. I believe that the centrepoint should have clear space as again many excellent or good houses or it is where Qi moves from one side o…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, it is very difficult to depend on a compass to determine all these stars that you had mentioned. Frankly, if this is the case, a book on " Secrets of Wealth, Relationships Revealed " may come in a paperback. If there is such an authentic book, then, in my opinion, it would be the hottest seller outselling books like the bible. But unfortunately, a holistic approach is a better bet. All of us in our lifetime have taken examinations since young. And we all know that the `clue' here is simply put -- to score maximum marks in the various sections of the paper. Holisic Feng Shui is also like this. And one should take into account the best practises o…

Dear Fran, Thank you for taking the effort to draw an outline of your house in relation to the cul de sca. However, Apologies, I still cannot see a clear picture of the position of your main door in relation to the cul de sac. For example, if your house driveway is covering the stretch of road leading to your neighours in the cul de sac, I could not see a road leading in and out for the owners or your neighours. The main door seems protected from the road. But as you had mentioned, it faces the roof of a neighour. You further mentioned that there is a tree to block the view of the neighour's roof. This can be a double edged sword. The rationale is because, the tree trunk …

Dear Susan, In my opinion, this is a rudimentary way of looking at analysing Ba Zi. Overall, what you did does not take into considerations:- harms, punishments, double and triple combinations of elements (which some are good while others are not favourable to one's element. Basic Ba Zi also includes, the Year, Day, Month, Hour of birth. But professional Ba Zi has to include not only the above but also two other pillars : House of Life and House of Conception. Perhaps, you can learn more about what Full Ba Zi analysis looks like under this url:- http://sg.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-others/fullbazianalysis.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mabel, 1. For sleeping position, it is best that your head points to the good direction and feet to the opposite direction. ie if your good sleeping position is North, then ideally your Head should be North and Feet should be South. 2. For work or study is different. You should be sitting where you point to the North and back facing the South if your auspicious work/study direction is North. Hope that helps. http://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Warmest Regards Robert Lee Thanks Mabel

Upon shifting to a new house, I received 2 bad news within a month. Does that mean the feng shui of the house is not suitable or there are leaks? I consulted a feng shui master previously before all the renovations were done. Should I consult him again or wait till 6 months to see the actual effect.

Dear Karen, 1. Red tile roof or clay coloured roof tile is a common preferred choice. 2. For painting the entire house, it is always best to paint the walls white or alternatively pastel shades of any other colour be it beige or cream - which are acceptable. 3. This is because, other than white or off-white; cream or beige or shades of it is often the choice of colour of architects and interior designers. So long as the colour(s) are light or pastel shades (making the wall bright) this should be acceptable. Here, the idea is (other than the bedroom) is to make the house `bright' rather than dark. 4. Another reason is that, if there is an imbalance at a particular sector,…

Dear Leanne, In my opinion, your question is too general. To learn more you could either: 1. Purchase some starter books on Feng Shui. Majority of these books are of the Shapes and Form Feng Shui. It is best to apply either " Traditional Feng Shui " or " 9 Star-Ki " Feng Shui. I would sincerely recommend you not to touch any resources associated with "Black Hat Tantaric Sect" in short: BTB or books associated with `Lin Yun'. 2. You can also browse thru the Free resources in this forum where, it involves real people and real situations or if u have the time to go thru some of the resources at Geomancy.net. Best Wishes on your pursuit of Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, it is best to look at "fatal" problems under the following perspective: 1. Often, fatal problems especially those that lead to financial loss does not come alone. For example, a toilet at the main entrance is considered as - already a handicap. This is akin to one having a fractured leg. 2. It would become worse especially if the house does not fit the breadwinner. Plus other additional leaks. Such as additional toilets at the centrepoint etc... 3. Another issue is that a toilet has connecting sewer and water pipes. And especially if one is living in an apartment, it is difficult or impossible to move a toilet. Therefore, when I mentioned `fatal…

Dear Vun Fook, For water positions: 1. Particularly for Period 7 homes, where there is double #7's under Period 8 (due soon), water positions can be used, here. 2. For example, for N2 (352.5 to 7.4) and N3 (7.5 to 22.4) which has double 7's at it's facing direction, unlike, your case where you want to enhance #6 strong metal(s) with water, water positions at Period 8 "bad metal sector 7" should be used to "drown" or neutralise the #7. 3. For some homes, the alternative may be to see if it is better to change to Period 8. (This depends on the interior layout and the Period 8 N2 or N3 star chart). 1. Therefore, it may not be totally true or 100 percent true for all…

Hi Anon, I am not sure how you got the older analysis module loaded even though I disabled it long time ago. It seems that an old link to that is still available and it is analysing the results as it is disabled. As a weak Earth, generally:- 1. Fire and Earth makes you stronger. (Favourable) 2. Wood destroy Earth, so weaken it. (Unfavourable) 3.Since Metal exhaust Earth, it also makes it weak. At the same Metal actually destroy Wood, which weaken Wood. Thus Metal is a double influence. However, to make it simple, Metal by default exhaust an element first before destroying it. As such the first influence comes first. (Unfavourable) 4. Water is your wealth, as a weak …

1. Frankly; I would believe that one of the chief concerns would be security - since after office hours - it would seem quite a vacant place to be at. 2. Honestly, since no two places are the same, external environment, the site, the place or location of where your "home" is has to be considered. Such question that you had asked cannot be answered by just posting a one liner and waiting for a full "cure" if there is any.

Dear Erika, Feng Shui of the home is also like a `test' or examination. Where there is 100 marks. This is where, there are many principles involved in Feng Shui and we can try to allocate marks to each category. Feng Shui is all about increasing one's luck. In my opinion, the score or breakdown of scores in Feng Shui is as follows:- a. Shapes and Form of the House = 60% b. Compass School Feng Shui Eight House Theory = 20% Flying Star = 25% Total = 100 percent From the above example, one should consider the amount of luck derived from Shapes and Form Feng Shui. Homes that can accumulate luck and/or have poison arrows neutralised can have better Fe…

Dear Yang Ming, Under the Eight House theory:- 1. How suitable is the house? Often, if `death or disaster' sector is at the main entrance for the breadwinner, this is already considered like the breadwinner having a `fractured' arm. 2. If the house also has a toilet at the centre of the house; then these are more leaks. More leaks translate to something like: a fractured arm to an `amputated leg'. 3. It is thus more important to understand all these. 4. In addition, under the Eight House, it is better to sleep in a good sector and nice to have sleeping with the head facing a good direction. 5. Other than the above, there is nothing magic about the Eight House. It has it's…

Hi Anon, There are no such mircale items that can help you. Most of these items are created with the intention to make money. So they will of course tell you it is best you buy this item to protect yourself. However, these items does not come with a guarentee/warrenty card that say that if you use it, you will sure to be protected. The best way in our view, is as what we have been always been asking users to do. Enhance whatever element that you lack through, colours ofclothes/car/bedroom, a favourable career, house etc. If you can have as many areas of your life with more favourable element, this will help you reduce any inauspicious influence or impact for that year. …

Dear Wayne, 1. Yes, some Feng Shui books warn of living close to high power transmission lines. Here, some of these books quote the magnetic field coming from such lines as `unsafe' for health. 2. So far, if I am not mistaken, there were studies conducted even by Universities to say that there are no adverse effects on human beings. 3. This could also explain why, some of us are still `allowed' by the authorities to live close to these power-lines. 4. Under Commonsense approach to Feng Shui, it is always safer to stay clear of power towers. Not because of any ill effects (magnetic force) but rather, in an unlikely senario of the tower falling down e.g. due to high winds o…
