Dear Vakta, Definitely not in a (sleeping) bedroom. Usually, it can either be placed in a "private" room such as the study or for the Chinese, it is quite common to be placed in the living room wall(s). But it is best not to place the photos facing the toilet, or share the toilet wall or face the dinning table. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Doreen, Chia Doreen wrote: 1. Where should I hang my wedding and children's photographs? Presently my wedding photograph is hanging in the master bedroom(sizes: wedding-approx. 24"x36", 8R table top, 4R/8R wall hanging) Family photos are good especially it helps improve harmony and relationship. So there shouldn't be any restriction on where you can or cannot place. As long as you feel good about it, you can place it wherever you can enjoy seeing it. Chia Doreen wrote: 2. 1. Frankly, especially if one is single, not only yourself but many teenagers have idols. And many of your age have pin-ups like what you have described. It is totally fine! 2. This is unlike a situation, where one is married and have this 60's pin-up in the master bedroom. Here, it would invite "jealousy" by one's partner! Especially if the only pin-up is of this lady and not your wife! Go ahead, to place the picture (photo)! Especially since it will make you happy and all these personalisation makes for a cosy room!

Dear Maria, In my opinion, this perhaps may have to do with symbolism. Perhaps, what you have read is that the particular author felt that photos above a fireplace could represent it being `burned' i.e. the fireplace represents fire. Any pictures above it may be symbolically `burned.' You could perhaps introduce a `neutral' element e.g. Earth e.g. pottery on the mantle piece of the fireplace. Especially, if one feels `uncomfortable' with it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. In my most recent posting, I elaborated on the Holy Trinity of Luck (Geomancy Luck). 2. The single most abused thing in Geomancy today has to do with a marketing ploy for us to purchase "stuffs". 3. If we analyse carefully, this area or the sale of products comes under Human or man luck. 4. The reason why products are touted today is that Geomancers will try to squeeze out as much as they can out of our (hard earned) money to "sell" or "promote" products. 5.Thus, many of us who had visitedFeng Shui sites before will come to expect that site has a products page with all sorts of products for sale. 6. Actually, such products costs very little to produce.…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi Master Lee, what element is a piano? Is it considered woodelement (because the outercasing and the keyboardis made ofwood)or metal element (because of the metalstrings inside) or water element(because it produces music)? In general, piano by itself is a furniture, depending on the material it is made the type of element can vary. However, when you use it to play music than the action is Water because it produces music. There isn't a real auspicious or specific feng shui location for piano location. It should be treated just as part of a furniture and place where it is most appropriate. ie usually close to the living room area for everyone/…

Dear Anon, For the bedroom, depending on the level of yin (rest) or yang (play or activity) you want you can use appropriate pictures in the room. Where possible, do not purchase pictures or paintings for the sake of enhancing `wealth' but rather, buy what you feel you enjoy (without any contraints) to Feng Shui other than: 1. do not buy pics/paintings of `fierce' animals with open mouths, of swords, swordplay. Ambigious paintings of unknown figures, shapes shadows. Other than these, buy paintings that you really really like. For the Chinese, calligraphy or word(s) with meaning for the living room. For the dinning room, some FS practitioners/clients are more particular a…

Dear Kaushal, In a particular FS belief, usually a painting of horses are placed next to an entrance. It can be 6 horses or 8 horses. Sometimes 9 horses. The above belief is that horses or stallion are symbollically one galloping out to get business for the company or firm. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some of the considerations:- 1. Let's draw a parallel with things like: 1.1. Can I have mirrors in the bedroom? 1.1.1 Some Feng Shui books say that when we sleep; our spirit rises to wander around. And if we do have a mirror e.g. facing the bed; the person's spirit would rise up; see's itself and gets "shocked" seeing it's own image. 1.1.2 This is why, in the past, many of the Cathode-ray old TV screens are highly reflective; thus some geomancers say; don't place a tv screen facing the bed. Else cover it up. 1.1.3 What happens if the individual is not scared of mirrors; but in-fact, what happen if this person's spirit, loves to see it's image in the mirror…

Dear Elena, Thanks for your detailed description of Monet's Nympheas. In my opinion, and my personal feelings that it more appropriate to place it at the couch area (although there is a small percentage of water and it is not within the bedroom area). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, This has to do with either `Superstitious' belief or `non-belief'. Under Feng Shui, the main thing to watch is: 1. If you are going to activate a mountain star e.g. if there is a mountain star to be activated, you can use a painting e.g. of the famous Mount Fuji of Japan or the Himalayan, Rocky mountain etc.. even if there is snow on top of the mountains. Contrast this to hanging a painting with a mountain scenery with a stream. To activate a mountain star avoid hanging a picture with stream or water at the location. 2. Avoid ferocious animals e.g. Tiger, leopard etc... with their mouths opened wide or where they symbolically looked hungry i.e. hungry enough to `eat'…

1. In the link below, you can see a person kneeling down. The person is usually the eldest son. On the back of the eldest son's back is his deceased father's portait. You can clearly see a "learned" person using a Chinese brush coated in black ink. This person is placing "eyes" onto the deceased person's portait. Literally, this is placing an eye on a deceased person's portait. It is symbolic of opening the eyes (not on a physical body) but transferred onto the portait. It is common also for some to purchase Chinease deity figurines and have temples annoint the eyes in a similiar manner. Please see picture below:- http://cgi.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictur…

Dear Anon, One way of looking at landed property is to find the frontage of the house. (Or the location with most light coming in) Since this is the frontage or the `entrance' area in such a situation, a grid, with say the main door drawn at the middle can be superimposed on this layout plan. Do note that, an ordinary compass is still required to find the North/South direction so that an appropriate template can be laid on it. In Flying Star Feng Shui, if one notice it carefully, majority of the 24 directional charts or 24 mountains (directions) are almost similar for each period. Thus, IN GENERAL not a major issue whether to take the compass reading from e.g. centrepoin…

Dear Cecil, Thank you for your response. The lot is a residential lot. My husband and I are looking at buying a house, and we found a house that we like very much. It is on a good direction (according to the Eight House calculation) but the lot is irregular shaped with the back smaller than the front, its dimension: 77ft wide at the front and 44ft wide at the back, 1 side is 148 ft long, another side is 138ftlong. I would like some advice if there are any cures or is it worth to purchase the house. Thank You very much. Van.

I have bought a piece of Land (square form - 17Wx30D) facing South. Unfortunately (base on Feng Shui, this is not a good site for the land) the land is right in front of the 'T' roads. I am planning to build a house on it very soon. I am the breedowner and my birth date is 20 Mar 1969. What major consideration in the designing the house? Thanks for the advice.

Dear Hendra, Yes, the metal pig in a metal snake year is not favourable. Two things you have to becareful:- 1. Investments and finance 2. Injuries and accidents You have to take extra care in both of the above areas. The only reprieve is in June where you would have better luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil
