Hi Miss Quiss, So long as it is not Death or Disaster under your Eight House Report and that you really like this house, then just make sure that the bedroom you stay in is in a good sector to help you offset the problems from the unsuitability. Since suitability of the house is the issue here, I am afraid there isn't much you can do even if other areas are good. Especially since you mentioned here that you cannot even find a bedroom which is good. This makes the house even more unsuitable. So my advice is best not to rush into getting this house, there are always other better one to come as you search longer. Hope this reaches you in time. Warmest Regards Rob…

Dear Joanne, For a trailer, the most important area is the siting or site of the trailer. In my opinion, this has the most impact on your Feng Shui. Other than that, since it is considered small space, not much one can change the structure of the trailer. Depending on the nature of use of the trailer, if it is more for rest, after work, then, priority should be given to its location close to work, convenience store and its surroundings. Hopefully, the surroundings is not `dry' or unprotected e.g. barren land and no trees. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sophia, Generally, for doors, there is no harm to leave it in the natural wood (brown colour). This is considered a neutral colour or element for doors. For a weak Water person ideal colour is either Metal (white/gold)or Water (Blue/Black/Gray). So if you truly want to paint colour then you should choose between the above colours. Whether a house is good or bad, depends a lot on the suitability of the house to the breadwinner as well as the general feng shui of the home. Often most problems are due to major leaks in the external factors of the house itself. So finding and fixing the leaks are essential to improve your overall luck. Knowing what are the leaks will …

Dear Dovie, One way of looking at things is: " I see, I like, I buy". If you find the tabletop water-point, nice, you can go ahead and purchase it. The above is based on `feelings' and intuition as opposed to the more complex analysis that one may do based on Traditional FS such as Flying Star (to check that a water position at a specific sector is acceptable or one's element and strength is suited to the above.) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Silvia, I understand your problem. It is currently difficult to have FS onsite consultation in Italy other than to source for the nearest neighours such the UK. At the moment, I believe there is no other choice but to use offsite consultation services. If you a sketch of how your `L shaped' house and need to find the centrepoint... feel free to upload to this forum i.e. The conference for attaching layout. For your information, we are currently collaborating on an the Italian version of GEOMANCY.NET run by reputable professionals who is also one of my students. More details in the future.. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Doris, To be pretty honest: there is often no right or wrong answers. Nor one camp can ever overwhelm the other to consider exactly what colors fit which elements. For example, it is very straight forward that all the primary colors such as (often those found on the color tv) e.g. Green, Blue and Red. And some also consider Yellow a primary color). From a hot-cold continuum or spectrum, colors would range from the hot end (Red) to the cold end (Blue or white). Grey is interesting. Because silver looks silver to us. But in my country, all our paper notes have a security thread -- threaded into each paper note. Humans when eyeing the notes will certainly see a g…

Dear Anon, Thank you for sketching the illustration. If one is using an ordinary compass, then this is the wrong way to use it: 1. Avoid placing the compass on the floor as the compass may skew or deviate. 2. The illustration, to find the centrepoint of the house is not correct. Please review this illustration:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm 3. You need to take the compass direction of the main door from the centrepoint of the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kay Song, Traditional Feng Shui sites like this practise the following concepts: 1. Heaven Luck Do a search for Pillars of Destiny or Ba Zi or Eight Characters. 2. Earth Luck 2.1 This is truly Feng Shui or the earth luck. 2.2 In Traditional Feng Shui; there are two major schools: - Shapes and Forms - Compass School: Eight House and Flying Star 3. Human or man luck 3.1 This is the most mis-used area. 3.2 For example, go to any Feng Shui site and they often claim that e.g. 3-legged toad or some figurine are very good for us. 3.3 However, there is always a hidden agenda behind this. Imagine, in China a 3-legged toad can be carved for as little as US$15 - cheap labour a…

Dear Anon, The idea behind using the hulu or bottle gourd is to "suck away" bad elements. Thus it is often placed in a toilet or next to the toilet bowl e.g. if the toilet is at the centrepoint of the house. Or often placed in a bedroom to counter "sickness" stars such as #2 sickness and/or #5 misfortune/sickness stars. Thus it is not placed based on the situation you had mentioned, below. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anamika, 1. Some of us are more sensitive than others with regards to the placement of a mirror facing the bed. 2. If the mirror is not facing any part of the bed (of the bedroom) then this is still considered OK. 3. If there is an attached bathroom in the master bedroom, a side table with a reading lamp can be used to act symbolically to shield the bed from the bathroom (door). 4. As mentioned by you; for mirrors, if it is placed in the bathroom door, it should preferably be placed on the inside of the toilet door (facing the bathroom) and not on the door facing the bedroom. 5. In my opinion, it is not compulsory to place a mirror on the inside of a toilet door fo…

Dear Grace, 1. Chinese Astrology signs:- a. 27 Jan 1971 to 14 Feb 1972 = Year of the Metal Pig. b. 17 Feb 1969 to 5 Feb 1970 = Year of the Earth Rooster. 2. Under the Chinese Astrology, the Pig is more compatible (excellent) match with the animal sign of the RAM (2003). 3. For the Year of the Horse, both the Pig and the Rooster has to be more understanding and tolerant of the Horse sign. 4. In my opinion, under Ba Zi (Pillars of Destiny) - the Year and Day of birth are considered important for `compatibility' purposes. Thus, even if say one is thinking of having a child (in a year); it boils down to not only the Year of birth but on which day, the child is also born. Thes…

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, we always try to find a `breadwinner' i.e. the person who brings in the most money. When using the Eight House Theory, try to check that the death/disaster sector is not at the main entrance door area. We should not have a micro view of the situation. In using the Eight House, you must also find out e.g. what is the intangible force affecting your bedroom. And other rooms you spent time at. It generally tells you how well suited are you to your home. You can also use the Eight House Theory to find a good sitting position e.g. facing a good direction for study, work... Other than this, the Eight House Theory has limited applications. Warmest Rega…

Dear Anon, Symbollically, it is not good Feng Shui to have a cracks e.g. hairline cracks on the main door. But I personally, feel that this is secondary, to the Feng Shui of the house. One can still do some minor repairs e.g. using silcone as a temporary solution. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Yes, even in the internet, it is very common to find a windchime with silver (hollow) rods of different lengths. Here, the top roof or the top support roof can be made of wood. And the `clinger' can be made of wood. It is best not to have red on the windchime. As you are correct to say that red (fire) will control metal and at the same time increase the bad earth element. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Drawing a parallel, nowadays, also, this type of Feng Shui is too general to be effective. It is like the notion of North = career sector; SW = romance sector. 2. Although: West is associated with metal; East with wood; there is not much this can tell us. 3. A more accurate interpretation is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui. This is because each sector has three variables: the mountain star; the water star and the base star. 4. For example, the Flying Star analysis is based on the birth chart of each home. Here, one needs to know the year the house was born or had a major renovation. The direction of the house. 4.1 Senario 1: ============== If this (west) sect…

Dear Kaushal, Currently, since this is period 7 (1984 to 2003), #7 is considered OK or acceptable. When one looks at a sector, I usually look at all three #'s (as u mentioned, the # on the right, the # on the left and the base no.). This is where, the mountain #, the water # is looked at in relation to the base no. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Actually, the gift of "chopsticks" isrelatively new. I hope, you don't mind me frankly letting you know:- In the past, it was not wise to lend or give chopsticks because of it has a similar sound like "zhu" or "halt". Thus is especially not good or an appropriategift. It is especially best to keep the gift or store it away. Nowadays, there is another set of "chopsticks" gift i.e. two chopsticks placed ontop of a bowl - kept in a glass display frame. This is again not favourable. This is similar to one praying to the dead ancestor i.e. it's offering to the dead. And this is thus also considered very inauspicious. Since chopsticks does not have any good mea…

Hello Mr. Lee: My house was built new and completed in December 2002. We moved in the same month. The House faces NE - 64 Degrees. My Kua Number is 2. I believe it is advantageous to move from Period 7 to Period 8. To accomplish this, we have to perform a 'major' renovation. Will replacing the entire Front Door be considered as a major renovation? We cannot renovate in other (possible) portions of the house since they fall in West and NW sectors, which are the areas of the Grand Duke. In Period 7, the Front Door portion occupies Flying Star-1, Water Star-7 and Mountain Star-7. In Period 8, The Front Door portion occupies Flying Star-2, Water Star-5 and Mountain Star-8…

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it is difficult to redress a sloping ceiling unless one physically remodel it to a flat roof or use a four poster bed with cloth or lace hanging on the top of the 4 poster support. 2. Usually, a full FS audit would be used to check on the house and there are certain interpretations of the mountain/water star combinations which in some cases reflect "romance" or show an interpretation of romance. Some houses when Feng Shuied may reveal good romance while others bad. Some houses do not reflect any combinations of romance sector. Therefore, Flying Star may or may not reflect these. 3. I therefore, cannot say for sure if the house has any effect. …

Dear Joe, Anonymous wrote: I believe one of the pt to note is to get a good facing main door according to your life kua. However I thought of buying a house that I like and it is facing East but my like kua is 2, East is not my favourable sector. Should I drop the idea in getting this house? Is the door facing VERY important? Thank. Joe Suitability is impossible to correct after you purchase the home. If the suitability is Spook or Irritation, it won't be too bad. Since the house is Disaster sector, which is one of the two worst sector. It is highly not advisable. You should remember that the facing of the house is the most important thing next to the environment of t…

Dear Ryan, Under Feng Shui, there is a concept which I termed the 33.3% ruleset. Under this concept, anything not larger than 33.3 percent normally would not pose any effect on the surrounding. For example, of a `missing corner' in a building. It has to be 33.3 percent `missing' from the sector of the house. This is why, usually when we paint the wall, and if we paint quite a large area of a room it would normally exceed 33.3 percent. In the same parallel, the little turtles would usually not have any effect. Therefore, place it somewhere both you and your girlfriend feels comfortable with. (Other than the bedroom). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rudresh, In my opinion: 1. India like China has one of the oldest civilisation. These two countries have some of oldest civilisation. 2. In fact, in the Chinese tale of "Journey to the West"; a Chinese monk of the Tang dynasty was given the task to go to India to obtain holy scriptures. 3. This does show that there is much to be learned from Indian culture. 4. Since China and India are close neighbours, there is indeed much trade and cutural exchanges. 5. I believe, (for now) Indian vasthu is not as contaminated or highly commercialised as " Feng Shui " of today. It is because of the highly commercialised `Feng Shui' what with FAST FOOD FENG SHUI and marketing geni…

Dear Rochiel, Frankly, (in my opinion) there is not much one can do unless:- 1. false ceiling to level the roof. But this is often not practical. 2. use a 4 poster bed and use material e.g. lace or other cloth material to cover the top (to act as a roof). Unlike a beam, which can be suppressed a graduating roof is `difficult' to cure. Warmest Regards, Cecil
