Dear Marta, Yes, the 7th lunar month is coming. The 7th month starts from 9 August 2002 to 6th September 2002 (last day). This is considered as the Hungry Ghost month where it is said that ghosts are let out to the earth. And considered not good to move in (and even travel). As it is considered that the ghosts can create mischief. Since, there is still sufficient time; usually an auspicious date / time is chosen for the move. For those who do not want to choose an auspicious date can; symbollically move-in first. For example, one may consider performing a house move-in procedure as shown in the attachment or simply by moving in old items into the house; one is said to hav…

Dear Wasis, What I meant is that often, at the frontage of the house, has many openings. For example, at the frontage; there is a main door e.g. 2 wood doors plus a full set of sliding glass doors for the living room. In such a situation, the mouth of the house is too big. (In proportion to the frontage of the house). It is similar to the layout mentioned in this message. Where, there is a main door and immediately next to it is a balcony. This two are taken to mean a large `mouth'. Where the house is not proportionate i.e. too many openings in relation to the `frontage'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. From my past and present experience, I found that many owners who had moved into such homes e.g. especially with toilet positions in `bad' locations. 2. I am not sure if it is a coincidence, but, in many situations, many of such owners have problems with their finances. Especially also if there are equally poor Shapes and Forms. This is my main concern. 3. In fact, just this month alone, I have done on-site Feng Shui audit and again (if this is a coincidence): many of the owners who had such `problems' encounter financial problems. Most of the time, it is compounded with other Shapes and Forms problems. 4. Two months ago, a past client, had success in his …

Dear Fanny, In an open cubicle system, most of the time, we have to make do with the sitting position imposed on us. In a room concept, or one occupies a room, usually, the office desk may be able to be tilted to a good direction. Unfortuantely, in an open concept, we may have to take on any table. If this is such the situation, then, hopefully, we can face one of our 4 best directions. If you have not used the Free Eight House report on sitting position, you can use it to check out your sitting location. This is simply taking an ordinary compass and looking at the direction you are facing i.e. sitting down and facing to work. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carlos, 1. In both instances: a weak metal or strong metal person's wealth element is still: wood. 2. Imagine, it as a block of wood. A metal instrument is capable of scupturing the piece of wood into e.g. an art work. 3. Here, a piece of wood has been transformed into something of value e.g. wealth. 4. In your situation, as mentioned earlier, if you are a weak metal person, your wealth element also is wood. BUT the caution is that the Wealth element is only auspicious if you are STRONG metal, otherwise, if weak metal is not enhanced to make it strong, it will bring one lots of problem. 5. For a weak metal person: Favourable element/colour: earth (yellow), metal (wh…

Dear Cleo, Flying Star Feng Shui can help to detect sectors with imbalances. In your case, if the sector identified has Lawsuits and some gossips involved, then it is prudent to neutralise this specific sector with a neutralising element. In such a case, `big metal' or six coins (controlled by red string) for example is used to neutralise such bad element e.g. #4 (lawsuits and gossips). Remember that this is distinct from your personal element e.g. Strong metal. The purpose here, is the home Feng Shui. Where, be it a strong or weak metal or other elements e.g. strong/weak fire, wood, water or earth. Here, if there are imbalances and especially in your bedroom. In order…

Dear Chloe, In my opinion, so far, to me, burying of three crystals a foot apart is something new. Some `authentic' Feng Shui practitioners had instead request to bury: the `Eight Treasures' of the buddha. Frankly, there is relatively no harm in burying crystals or coins with square holes in them. I believe, you have a garden. If so, a better alternative is to create a profile e.g. landscaping at the garden. Such that from a `helicopter view' one can see the profile or outline `neutralising' the missing corner. And at the corner of the missing corner, one can also consider installing a lamp. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carrie, In many instances, both can carry the same weight. In addition, a third consideration is one's Pillars of Destiny - 10 year currentLuck period. Feng Shui is all about luck. And for more detailed diagnostics, usually the consequence is `heavier' where:- 1. Pillars of Destiny Luck Period - Inauspicious for the Year or current luck period. 2. Home Feng Shui needs further improvement 3. Office Feng Shui also is not so good. In above situation, the above three have a `pulling power' of making things not so lucky. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Patrick, You can find out more about the significance of missing corners under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm In some homes, what may be assumed to be missing corners can alternatively instead be `protrusions'. If anyone is not sure, whether your house has `missing' corners or `protusions' can scan and attach for me to comment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jasmine, Ideally, it is good if the house can face good directions of both parties. But as you had mentioned, one person is the `East' house while the other is the `West' house. "Unfortunately" in Feng Shui, there is a consideration: Who is the breadwinner? In traditional Feng Shui, (like almost everywhere in the world); the breadwinner is often assumed as the man of the house. Or the male figure. Even today, we still often consider the male (husband) as the breadwinner unless: the husband is not working or a house-maker. Or if the male's salary is far below that of the female. In the bedroom, even if one partner's sector is not so good, (if possible) the partner wh…

Dear Felicia, We should take advantage of both: Flying Star Feng Shui and Eight House Theory. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui or as you mentioned, `the stars': if a sector is out of balanced (under Flying Star Feng Shui); you should neutralise any bad elements within this sector. Once you had neutralised any imbalances under this sector, there is really no issue: if this is a good sector under your Eight House. If this sector is your `Excellent' sector under Eight House, do take advantage of it. By sleeping under this sector. For those, who do not have a choice, e.g. all the bedroom locations e.g. bedroom 1, bedroom 2 or bedroom 3 are not favourable with regards to Eight …

Dear Allan, In Ba Zi or Pillars of Destiny, if you are using the Luck Pillars in our report, you can find out each year whether it is auspicious or inauspicious (in addition to generally, the 10 year luck period). From my personal observation, each year differs in the luck period. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lola, I glad that you find the information in the website useful. Please see below:- It is best that Qi can meander rather than go off directly thru and out of the house. If you do not see a direct path from the main door to the back, this is acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nguyen, Please see below:- If you can attach a layout plan, I can help you confirm the direction. Under the Eight House Theory, there is no solution or cure. It is best to look at other theories e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui. Yes, she can sleep in the spook bedroom. But, for husband and wife, it is best for both of you to sleep in the same bedroom. You can sleep closer to the sector and she sleeps further away (if this is possible). I am sorry. I am confused with some of the directions you had mentioned. Perhaps, a sketch can help. Overall, it is still best to have the placement of the bed based on good shapes and forms Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carlos, 1. The Sigil of Saturn is the movement of the Luo Shu grid as shown in the url below:- http://sg.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-tortise.htm 2. You can trace the movement by sketching the movement in the above url's centre chart from the centre position:- 3. Do trace out the movement from " 5 (Five) to 6 (Six) to 7 (Seven) to 8 (Eight) to 9 (Nine). And from 9 (Nine) jump to 1 (One) to 2 (Two) to 3 (Three) to 4 (Four)." 4. If you have traced this movement, (from the centre): this is the how the Sigil of Saturn will look like. 5. This is in-fact the Flying Star Feng Shui. Where the centre number refers to the Period. 6. Thus under Period 7, the Number 7 is p…

Dear Peck Wun, Usually, in many instances, the auspicious time is based on: 1. phonetic sounding of the numbers. For example, common timing would include:- 8.x8 am where the time has an 8 (in Cantonese `Fatt' or auspiciousness) 8.x9 am where the time has a 9 (9 sounds like longevity). or 9.x8 am or 9.x9am The above timings are nice sounding and also:- 2. They are yang hours of the day. For example, the thing to do is to insert the key into the wooden main door and wait for such a time e.g. 8.28am or 8.29am and then once this is ok, open the door.... If you are moving in the afternoon, avoid moving in after 3.00pm. As this is considered closer to `Yin' timing. …

Dear Peck Wun, If the figurine looks ambigious, it is best to cover it first, especially if it is an old furniture. Overall, if the figurine is not facing directly towards the bed but facing outwards, there is, in my opinion, not a real concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jacqueline, Usually, if you can obtain, a natural dried out bottle gourd i.e. brown in colour. Is it possible to obtain this type of bottle gourd. Try to find the above first before, using others such as jade or silver - if possible. Although, this two type can be used. Between this two (jade or silver) `metal' silver is preferred over jade. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jasmine, In fact, there are other comments that I had not mentioned about space above a garage: 1. Let's take an example of a building on stilts or stilt type legs. Where the building is above the ground. Some FS practitioners say that an occasional bad spirit may pass trough the stilted legs of the building, they are said to attack the weakest parts of the building which are the corners of the support beams/legs. 2. Some feel that because there is emptyness below, the structure may not support the entire room upstairs. (This is absurd unless, there is severe structural problem or poor construction material used). 3. There are many of such stories relating to this. …

Dear Wasis, 1. Earlier, we had seen how Wood threat can be neutralised. 1.1 It is similar in concept to all other elements. For example, if there is a Fire threat:- Two methods can be used: Do you want to neutralise the threat using the Productive or Destructive cycle approach? 1.2 Method 1: (Productive cycle method) ============= Fire can be neutralised (balanced) by introducing Earth and Metal. Where, fire (threat) is used to produce earth. Since there is abundance of earth, earth is used to produce metal. Thus, this is a three element flow. 1.3 Method 2: (Destructive cycle approach) ============= This is similar to your earlier worry that the second element introduced…

Dear Jacuqeline, In my opinion, perhaps, the breakdown of electrical appliances may be a coincidence. Especially if it is a rented place and is not most of the items are not new. Perhaps, it is best to monitor the situation, first. Since you are new to Feng Shui, do try to read up more - especially on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jasmine, This is based on `commonsense' rather than Feng Shui. For example, it is said that it is best not to have a bedroom above the kitchen. The rationale is because, the kitchen is where we usually do our cooking. And there may be a remote possiblity that a fire may accidentally break out in the kitchen. (Higher probability). In such a situation, as fire travels upwards, the room above the kitchen would most likely be the first to be affected. It is the same as the garage. Here, it was felt that usually the garage may include some boxes of flammable material or used as a storage. Alternatively, some people feel that the vehicle, may catch fire. I feel that this…

Dear Emy, Usually, there could be more with regards to bad Feng Shui of the house. It is best to confirm if there are any more `leaks' e.g. try standing at the main door and each window and look out. Check for any other threats e.g. angle or poison arrow(s) aimed at your home. Also, any Shapes and Forms problems with regards to the site, land and home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
