Dear Felicia, We should take advantage of both: Flying Star Feng Shui and Eight House Theory. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui or as you mentioned, `the stars': if a sector is out of balanced (under Flying Star Feng Shui); you should neutralise any bad elements within this sector. Once you had neutralised any imbalances under this sector, there is really no issue: if this is a good sector under your Eight House. If this sector is your `Excellent' sector under Eight House, do take advantage of it. By sleeping under this sector. For those, who do not have a choice, e.g. all the bedroom locations e.g. bedroom 1, bedroom 2 or bedroom 3 are not favourable with regards to Eight …

Dear Gordon, If you live in a domitory or short of space e.g. a rented room, frankly, there is really no issue in this. Look at it this way, many educated people have lived in domitories and were successful after their studies. More... Some Feng Shui practitioners, I understand, are against this, because they were afraid that qi cannot flow underneath a bed. But, there are many families who allow their young ones e.g. age between 1 to 5 years old - to sleep on a mattress on the floor. And in many cultures, often, people sleep on the floor or floor mat. And there are no adverse problems. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear SK, 1. Yes, I can understand the problem, here. 2. The best approach is to try to find the centrepoint of the home. Or the centre-of-gravity of the home. 3. For example, photocopy a scaled layout plan. Glue this onto a cardboard. Cut-out the outline. And (try) to balance the entire layout on a nail. (To find the centre of gravity or centrepoint) of the home. 4. The key here is to find the centrepoint. And from this centrepoint, use a `pie-chart' to radiate out the compass directions. 5. To summarise, once, the centrepoint is found; one can then (sensibly) apply the eight house and/or the flying star charts to the home. 6. Otherwise, unlike an `L' shaped layout plan, …

Dear Anon, In my opinion, often, this type of an issue has more to do with the "commonsense approach" than Feng Shui. The rationale has to do with our "individual" sensitivity level. Some of us are very sensitive to our environment. And "any moving object" can scare some, while no issue with others. Or if one is in "deep thoughts". For example, imagine a person in deep thoughts, walking down the steps of stairs, some people may "suddenly" realise a figure down below at the steps. But frankly, this is a poor excuse, given that often if the mirror is not a whole piece, we humans can easily identify that it is ourselves. (Without adding insult to injury). In the disc…

Hi Master, This is my 3rd time in the forum, Thanks to you Master for maintaininig this forum for public. I used to live ina WEST facing house and came up with a many health issues for my kids. So, after 8 years i was able to manage and move to a house, which is Excellent for my husband (Bread winner - SOUTH) of the house. Actually i followed your site before buying the house and made sure that 4 good directions are secured and enter the house without any obstracitons. However, NW - Death line touched the master bed room,NE - Destroy line crosses the Dining, W- Spook falls in the bathroom and SW - Irritation crosses the main entrance Garage. Can you suggest some cures f…

Dear Mabel, Please see below:- Frankly, it is quite difficult to answer your question, strictly from the perspective of SW = Romance sector. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, often, sectors that have #4 or #3 (are related relationships) together with the combination of #1 water .... relationship issues.. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, MS #8 is the mountain star. And, activating it can often help in relationships. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, WS #7 under Period 7 and WS #8 under Period 8 etc... has to do with water wealth position(s). Perhaps, it may be a coincidence that SW may have some or a combination of #3 etc... One of the cures in Feng Shui is to place a bottle gourd i…

Dear Gustavo, Sorry to learn about your plight. What I can do for you is provide you with free complimentary paid credits to some of the useful paid tools so that you can try to make sense about your current situation. Then maybe you will be able to see what could possibly be wrong and try to fix them or at least work to improving it. Feng Shui is by no means a miracle cure all. How quickly if any will it help to improve is determined by how bad your situation is. You must understand that every person has a few luck factors influencing your overall luck. 1. Heaven Given Luck - which is luck that is given to you when you are born. This is luck that is supposed to be pre…

Good Feng Shui companies will never participate in the so called Feng Shui Fairs, as these fairs are often distasteful with lots of sellers trying to CON people out of their hard earned money! When the buying stops, the selling can!

Hi, Attached is a sketch of my current bedroom layout. For my bedroom, the whole stretch of the North wall is the window. The store door, the Bedroom door, and the Bedroom window is in one line. I'm born on 11 June 1988, my KUA number is 3, my self element is YIN FIRE. I'm quite confused about where to reposition my bed. My self element is fire, so is it good for me to sleep on a wooden bed? Is sleeping at the bottom-deck of a double-deck bed good? What remedies can be used if my head of my bed is not against a solid wall? Now I'm sleeping on my bed with my head facing South, BUT is it ok that my head is facing the Toilet door? Can I sleep with my head facing…

Dear Crisa, In very general terms, often, some Feng Shui practitioner will look at the direction or location the home is. But this is very general. For example, some FS practitioners could suggest that e.g. since Singapore is in the Southern part of earth, a main door that is white is ok. Since, metal controls fire element. Generally, it is quite common to find doors that are real wood (varnished in different types of wood tone colors) or simply light pastel shades of e.g. neutral colors like white or cream. For the proposed red colored main door, in general, it is best not to be painted if the door is located at the north (water) direction. If possible, it is not fav…

Dear Joan, In my opinion, this is although not the best position, but it is (based on your earlier description) may seem to be a better position. The only thing is that one may perhaps have to get used to it. However, some of us get used to it, but should you feel uncomfortable, then, may have to revert back to the old. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Five Elements concept and external facade of the building (or hotel) Under Feng Shui, often a competitor or even a person who wants to build a new home/office complex or any other business could employ a FS practitioner. More often, the FS practitioner will first scan the immediate environment to see what type of building could best be built on the site or plot of land. For example, if the neighbourhood is predominatly or has flat structures or rectangular shaped structures. This represents the earth element. Under the Five elements concept, the FS practitioner could either:- 1. Propose a tall and "thin" structure that is symbolic of a tree or (wood el…

Dear Anon, 1. Please refer to an earlier reply (under this same conference): Free Advice (General Topics) My reply to this question "What is activate? How to activate " 1/11/2002 2. My advise is to find out: 2.1 What is the PURPOSE of each concept or theory 2.2 What are it's weakness and strengths? If one is aware of these two questions, one would be able to understand better the various concepts. 3. The Eight Aspirations/Life Associations concept. 3.1 Purpose?: It is to understand that each Gua (Kua) or each trigram is associated with a `life association'. Such as the Gua tigram at North is associated with `Career'. 3.2 What is it's strengths? Unfortunately, it's streng…

Dear Yew-Meng, 1. Overall, the chief concern of the White-Tiger is in-effect symbolism. 2. Here, the worst senario is to have a water position "above it". Especially a circular pool or pond. 3. One can than imagine, the `flat' pool of water as simply the open `hungry' mouth of the tiger. This is inauspicious as it `needs food' or nurishment. 4. As for the underground electricial cables, in my opinion, I feel that it is not a threat at all. The White tiger is not exactly bad. We are more concerned with it's upper part of the body i.e. the head (especially it's mouth) that can do the most damage. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hoa Luong, 1. Under the Five Elements concept, there is this saying " opposites attract! ". 2. Frankly, is a very common situation if we apply the eight house theory. 3. When u settle down and find a home, best to find a house that suits the main breadwinner (unfortunately under FS, it is still considered the man of the house). For example, a good direction at the main door. For you, it is good if this sector is say the irritation or spook sector. 4. For the bedroom, the partner who has the best influence sleep closer to his/her favourable sector. While the other partner sleeps further away. 5. For newly married couples, it is not advisable to sleep in an irregular …

Dear Ivy, 1. Often, some elders (parents) may have a wrong perception that certain years are not good years for marriage or even give birth. 2. But if this is the case, many hotels and restaurants may close down. And for women and children hospitals, they remain idle for much of the year. 3. Frankly, this is not an issue. So long as one does not marry e.g. during Qing Ming and 7th month of the hungry ghosts, other months can be chosen. 4. More importantly, the two dates should match both you and your partner's ba zi. 5. I have provided you a courtesy combined ba zi report that analyses both you and your future husband's ba zi. Simply unzip the attached file and look at th…

Dear Anon, Feng Shui and other Chinese divinity methods is all about trying to improve one's luck. It is a holistic method of trying to improve luck in many areas:- 1. Feng Shui For example 1.1 Shapes and Form 50 marks 1.2 Eight House Theory 10 marks 1.3 Flying Star Theory 40 marks ------------------------ Total 100 marks ======================== Like mathematics, we should try to improve the above luck. 2. Some of us look to sector Feng Shui to improve our luck and simply concentrate on this only. Thus if for example, it comes under Flying Star Theory and the total marks allocated to it is 40 marks. If there are 9 sectors in the home, this means that 4…

Dear Rosie, 1. If you can upload a sketch of your house, I can help you to determine the centre-point of the house. Or to see if there is indeed a missing corner or it's significance. Here, either the Eight house or Flying Star can be used to help analyse the house. As to what u mentioned: I use Usually, these options should be treated more as part of `interior' design or something one "likes" rather than to improve the energy. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. The rationale for some books to say that South is a good direction is because the author felt that South = Fire is suppose to be a good direction for sales / marketing activity. (As Fire represents heighten activity). 2. This does not necessary mean that ALL shops should have their business premise facing south. This is also not feasible especially in a Shopping complex. It would not make sense to have a row of shops facing south and non in other sectors. 3. Ba Zi of the proprietor should be considered also. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vun Fook, 1. I really appreciate if users could go thru some of the past resourses in this forum. 2. In particular, I have emphasised many times of the three step-approach: 2.1 What is the purpose of each concept 2.2 What are it's strengths 2.3 What are it's weaknessess 3. Understand Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui and ba zi, first. Try to do a search on each of what you had mentioned, below and find out there purpose, strengths and weakness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Each of us have our own birth chart. And in the Chinese system this is known as our individual `Ba Zi' or `Pillars of Destiny' or also known as `Eight Characters'. 2. Here, do we change our birth chart, say every 20 years? Yes / No? 3. Our birthday (birth date) always remains. 4. Flying Star Feng Shui 5. Imagine, your home. Does it have a birth chart? Yes. 6. We can draw a parallel to this to Ba Zi. Each house is said to have it's own birth chart. 7. Often, the chief consensus is that a house birth chart will change only when there is a major renovation done to the house/home. 8. For example, the clue here is that if all houses MUST change their birth chart.…
