Dear Agnes, Nowadays, due to the highly commercialization of Feng Shui, every object that can be sold has been given a `tag' as a Feng Shui enhancer or cure or neutralising agent. For example, even in Chinese beliefs such as the three legged toad has been said to bring `good fortune'. Sometimes these objects are sold for more than US$50 or more and I am not too sure who has the better fortune? The seller or the poor buyer who had just departed with US $50 or more? Please see below:- Alternatively, some FS practitioners advise the use of grand father clock i.e the tick-tock.. effect (as adding the sound of metal). Wooden wind chimes can be used to enhance a sector that…

Dear Norma, Since you are occupying only one side of the house, the centrepoint should be taken only on your side of the house. As for the breadwinner, although both roughly earn the same salary, with regards to Feng Shui, usually, if this is the case, the `male' or your husband should be taken as the breadwinner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Niki, In my opinion, it is good to hear that your house has good Feng Shui in many areas. The door (especially bedroom door[s]) should not be moved unless they do not `adhere' to shapes and form Feng Shui. Although it would be nice to had an added bonus of having good `Eight house' fit for everyone; usually this may not be the case. The main consideration is still on the sitting of the bed based on good Shapes and Form techniques. If a house has excellent Feng Shui, it would give a significant leap (or quantum leap) in Feng Shui and would have added more than 50 percent or more `luck' towards the residents of the house. It is good to move in; (and if you are not goin…

Dear Hendra, Yes, the metal pig in a metal snake year is not favourable. Two things you have to becareful:- 1. Investments and finance 2. Injuries and accidents You have to take extra care in both of the above areas. The only reprieve is in June where you would have better luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, Please see below:- Ideally, more importance is placed on the placement of the stove. The placement of the oven takes second priority. If the kitchen is at the South compass direction, it can still be considered facing `out' of the house i.e. towards the entrance. Can you confirm whether you meant the oven or the stove in the above. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. In general, without looking at the individual's Ba Zi information; 1st day of every Lunar month and 15th day of every Lunar month are considered good days. 2. Please check out www.geomancy-online.com as there is an auspicious date by month report with reference to a person. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sally, I have done away with manual computation already. Why not you go to www.geomancy-online.com and generate a free report on your true element. Under the free report, the assumption is that the element is weak. This is much faster and accurate method. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Pat, Frankly, if one is using proper Feng Shui Audit, it involves many Feng Shui concepts and principles and includes other disciplines such as Pillars of Destiny of each member of the family. There is no way, to just give a brief description and somehow an answer can be given. Majority of the time, a Feng Shui practitioner has to be present to review the external environment, the site and then look at the sitting of the house. Usually, based only on the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, a site should be best to have the backing (support) of a mountain while the frontage of the house (the frontage need not necessarily be the front door) should face clear space and…

Dear Ryan, Usually, company logos have been designed based on either i.e. based on a owner's Ba Zi i.e. weak water... etc... Colour is also widely used in Feng Shui. Geomancy-u.com 's logo was designed based on our scope/field of discipline i.e. studies and based on Robert's and mine element and strength. Although website designs are new, in this site, we have used colours for each of our sites (in our personal opinion, reflect best on Feng Shui principles). For example, our Resources site/pages is in green. Where green is like a tree sprouting roots and branches. The forum www.geomancy-forum.com uses the colour blue to represent (again to the best of our opinion) exchan…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, it is best not to use DIRECTION " Feng Shui ". 1. Although each Gua (Kua) or Trigram has a specific significance or meaning, many authors are churning out tons of books on it. 2. It is very easy to understand why authors can make money out of it (plus in my opinion hurt many people). It is so easy, for each of us to `imagine' and come with a such a book: 3. For example, since there are 8 `directions' or trigram; with some imagination or addition of our intrepretation of a direction come with with a book such as: Chapter 1 : Introduction Chapter 2 : Career Sector (North) What it means? What to buy? Go buy it... Chapter 3 : Mentor Sector (North Wes…

Dear Anon, Apologies, as I do not give the idea of spending too much time replying to this question. But I forgot to mentioned an important point. If this is modern practise especially by Western practitioners who may not be too familiar with the Double Happiness symbol, it would be best, at least, if one display the symbol of a heart to (instead display DOUBLE Hearts) i.e. One heart can be placed overlap (half-way) over the other heart. Like the equivalent of the Double Happiness symbol, at least `LOVE' should come in a pair. I wonder, if some unfortunate souls, could have just placed a single heart and symbolically .. imply.. a lonely heart. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Health, In my opinion, your husband can proudly display his military service combat medals in: 1. If their is a study room or a visitors room, it can be placed in a display. 2. Alternatively, they can be placed in a specially constructed `picture' frame and mounted on a wall - conversation piece. 3. Usually, the thing to avoid is the placement of e.g. an officer's sword especially having it face the main entrance. Similarly, in my opinion, it is best not to let the medal display face directly towards the main entrance. Otherwise, it can be placed even in the living room area e.g. in a display cabinet. More importantly, it should be placed especially, from your husban…

Dear Angelique, There are many (many) considerations if one uses Feng Shui to analyse a house: This involves, environmental scanning of the landscape, the site, the building and interior of the home. If the main door is facing the backdoor, this could still be `cureable' e.g. having a divider to shield the backdoor from the main entrance. Warmest Regards, Cecil It is good to look at the conference " Samples that will not receive a proper reply " as this part would end out in that conference.

Dear Jo, In my opinion, it is best not to apply `sector/corner' "Feng Shui". This type of "Feng Shui" is a modern invention and no basis in the (wide scope) of Traditional Feng Shui. No Traditional Feng Shui practitioner would practise such things (with the exception of Feng Shui authors.) It is so easy to write books based on this. Furthermore, it is too general i.e. to be applicable to everyone in the world. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, It is best to look at Feng Shui in a holistic approach i.e. looking at "WEALTH" from various angles such as: 1. How good is the Shapes and Form of the home i.e. external environment, the site, the building and the home. 2. Using Compass School methods such as Flying Star and Eight House. 3. By simply focusing on a corner of the house and to assume that this corner "makes "or "breaks" our achievement of WEALTH is in my opinion, too naive a concept. In my opinion, it is more important to get more areas correct, or `score' more points or marks in all areas to make it a better home will provide more results. Furthermore, to say that a `wealth area' is at a specific…

Hi Kaushal, Generally, you are refering to the fact that your house has a base star forming the Luo Shu square where adding the numbers from each of the direction gives you 15. Yes, I have not doubt that your chart looks like a luo shu square. And it does have number combination influence. However, Flying Star is not so simple as to just looking at the numbers of the base star. It is even more important to understand the interactions of the Flying Star when encountered with two important stars that constantly fly around the base star every 20-year and yearly. The monthly and daily stars are often not so important as quite difficult and also not to mentioned tedious to w…

Dear Rose, Generally, for house number there is very little you can do as I believe no one can just change a number just like that. However, from what you have described, it would seem that the Flying Star of your house at one of the key sectors (either main door, bedroom where you and your husband sleep, or a room where you and your husband spends a great deal of time in) contains combinations of two stars which results in robbery etc. Generally, in order to cure the problem you need to know what is the cause. Without it, it is difficult to advice you how to cure the problem or make improvements to the home. If the problems lies with the Flying star applying the …

Dear Kathlee, It is only bad when placed in locations where there is inauspicious flying star (which will create more inauspicious influence). It is also bad for bedroom when the mirror can be seen when you are say lying on the bed or when you get out of the bed. This is partially due to the "shock" you may get when you first get up still not awake. Seeing an image of yourself can create a shock which is bad for yourself. Otherwise, having a mirror which is used say when dressing or inside the wardrobe hidden when not in used is not really an issue. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi Miss Quiss, So long as it is not Death or Disaster under your Eight House Report and that you really like this house, then just make sure that the bedroom you stay in is in a good sector to help you offset the problems from the unsuitability. Since suitability of the house is the issue here, I am afraid there isn't much you can do even if other areas are good. Especially since you mentioned here that you cannot even find a bedroom which is good. This makes the house even more unsuitable. So my advice is best not to rush into getting this house, there are always other better one to come as you search longer. Hope this reaches you in time. Warmest Regards Rob…

Hi, Generally, you should not have any object blocking your main door, as it will divert or split away the Qi (C'hi) from flowing into the house through the main door. Also, if you can see the threat it is often considered a poison arrow. However, may I ask how long have you moved into the house. And whether since you move in did you encounter any problems? One way to see if the tree is really bad or not is to see if you have any major problems (sickness, accident etc.) Also wether or not you should cut down the tree also depends very much on whether it helps you block other more dangerous poison arrow. For example if there a street lamp behind the tree, then the tree act…

Hi, Well, the problems you have seems to be from either some lacking in elements in your Pillars chart which is why you got such sickness. And it could also be increased with the association of certain unfavourable elements which you should avoid or the house in which you stay in also contain sickness (2/5 stars) which may worsen the problem. Generally black funitures represents water element. It will be bad to you if you are a strong water, weak Fire, weak Metal person etc. Basically, at this stage where I do not have much details (eg. true birth element, house chart etc) from you nor any analysis of your home etc. It is difficult to advice you or help you identify the p…

Dear Florida, In my opinion, you can consider this (ceramic money tree with children on it) as a decorative piece. For this decorative piece, since it does not have any major significance associated with a specific deity/god, feel free to place it anywhere you personally feel comfortable with. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elizabeth, In my opinion, usually, if it is a painting of a single peony, this represents maidenhood and particuarly in the Tang Dynasty era, it is said to represent the femal genitalia. However, in ancient China, the significance is that it is considered the Queen of all flowers and signifies distinction and wealth. It is also a flower associated with the season of Spring. The most popular coloured peony (peonies) are RED. Later on, in the story of the Eight Immortals, there is a Bai Mu Dan or White Peony ... that challenged Lu Dong Bin (one of the eight immortals) and she won the contest. In my opinion, a picture with many peonies represents a vibrant `Spring' seas…
