Dear Heiddy, I can only say this "Life is short" so live it to the fullest. Frankly, reading too many books can: 1. bring fear or confusion 2. lead to auto-suggestion 3. worse still - self-fulfilling prophecy. I have actually elaborated on a simple example: 1. Many of us read books that say that our spirit wanders out of our body, sees itself in the mirror; and gets a shock! 2. But, wait! What happens if our spirit is the "extrovert" type. It wants to check itself in the mirror. If the hair is out of place, wants to comb, itself to look nice before, wandering off? 3. It is ridiculous senario to remove the TV set in the bedroom, if we have had it for most of our life! 4. S…

Dear Anon, You should apply the concept: "If it cannot no longer be seen, it is no longer a threat". Here, the best way to deal with it is to use e.g. blinds or curtains (to block the view). If you use curtains, you can have two layers e.g. a day curtain and a night curtain. As you had mentioned that you have a blind, although it would be great (Or nice to have) a view of the outside, if the poison arrow is aimed directly towards the window, it is still best to close it or use the blind to reflect out the poison arrow -- best to forgo the view in such a situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Overall, in Feng Shui, it is best that a mirror not be placed on a wall where this could be inauspicious sector as twice the bad luck would bounce back. 2. However, if you feel that it is OK, then you can try to place it above the fireplace. But the mirrow should not be larger than the diameter of the fireplace. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Thanh Huynh, Thanh Huynh wrote: Thanks for your reply Robert. I have one more question. What if I plant 2, 3 more trees around or be side this big tree and some more flower bushes to make it look like a garden, will that help also? Yes, this will work as well. As long as you can break the sha qi it will help. Furthermore, by making it into a garden, you actually beautify the place and that will definately be good in terms of feng shui. As creating a nice environment that you feel good to live in is essentially what Feng Shui is all about. Creating Harmony Hope that helps. Binding Elements

Dear Kieren, 1. Ideally, the compatibility of two persons is good: normally one common binding element is sufficent. 2. However, there are many different combinations. As you have given an example: WEAK vs WEAK i.e. weak fire vs weak water. Here, the binding element would have to be two binding elements: wood and water element: where wood is a necessity here. Where wood must be need to strength the weak fire person and to offset the introduction of water for weak water person. With this two elements, it will form a combination flow i.e. water -> wood -> fire (flow). 3. Therefore, any of the permutations of: WEAK VS WEAK WEAK VS STRONG or STRONG VS WEAK STRONG VS S…

Good day, A caged bird was once in our living room and we decided to put it inside a room. What is the best place in the house for it? Also, our friends are slowly dissapearing from our life, is this somehow related? We also do not have a lot of time to spend out of the house since we work at home taking care of old people.

Dear George, Frankly, it is not exactly Feng Shui. But overall, it is certainly nice to have birds around! In Feng Shui, we call this the secret ingredient. Or, birds around or close to the house is a `secret' ingredient. Usually, where there are birds, it normally suggests greenery. I am not sure, if this is the case, but, a garden with birds or birds coming into the estate in most instances means greenry around. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Regina, In my opinion, this is not a major issue. Unless, one has a huge pond that can support: flamingoes, ducks etc.... So far, bird-baths is not an issue. Birds coming to one's home is considered a "secret" weapon of Feng Shui, since, it suggests a place or location with (often with many trees/plants all round). This is indeed, very good. (But one must see what type of bird, is attracted to the place:) Hopefully not crows! *JOKE*) Warmest Regards, Cecil Regina Cohn

Dear Sophia, For birth element you should use Ba Zi element. 1. The Kua Element is never used as the Birth element, given it only considers the YEAR of birth. 2. The Ba Zi on the other hand tkes the full Day, Month, Year and even Hour of birth, so it is far more accurate to use the Ba Zi element. You should always try to use the day rather than year element (just as in our website's ba zi analysis). So Earth element as caculated by the Ba Zi report is your birth element. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My parents are unsure of my time of birth though it is stated in my birth certificate. My mother felt that I should be borned on the day but the birth certificate indicated night. Will I still be able to get advice on feng shui on my place if this information is lacking. It is best you leave the time unknown, if youare not sure, or cannot be sure which 2 hour time range your time of birth falls under. The ba zi without the time of birth will more or less give you the overall influence of the person born within the day itself. Only a few hours will alter the percentage of the five element and very few will have a different birth strength (ie w…

Dear Ken, Anonymous wrote: As I'm very new to Bazi, could I trouble you to enlighten me with an idea as to how your online report has ascertained I'm a Strong Yang Fire? I was born on 24 Oct 1985 between 12 am to 1 am. Frankly, even though the free report does not show you the details, our ba zi analysis considers a lots of factors before it assigns a weak or strong status. This information is exacted from a portion of the paid ba zi report for your date of birth:- Element Strength Percentage 0 Water Extremely Weak 0 % 2 Wood Weakest 8 % 4 Fire Weak 26 % 5 Earth Strongest 55 % 1 Metal Strong 8 % You are a Fire elemen…

Dear Tian Wan, It would seem to me that you are refering either to the ba gua or the 24 ba zi feng shui theory. However, in either case, it would seem that only South is good for you. North cannot not be good for you as Water destroy fire. Since you are a weak fire, water is bad for you. (This is assuming that we only take your element as weak fire ignoring other details) (Unless of course it is based on another theory etc) The other good directions are like East (wood) which helps to produce fire. 1. Feng Shui of the house itself should be good especially in key areas such as Main Door sector and bedroom of the breadwinner 2. The Main Door should be such that ei…

Dear Dominique, Please see below:- You can find the information at the following url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-colours.htm A good example is the " Finding a Good House Report " at http://www.geomancy-online.com It looks into three dimensions:- 1. A 360 degree overview of the Flying Star or Xuan Kong Feng Shui at every main entrance of each of the 24 directions (mountains). 2. In addition, the Eight House directions is also compared with Para 1 and Para 3. 3. Personal Ba Zi of the breadwinner i.e. element and strength in relation to direction of the main entrance. 4. Overall, the best house is one where all 3 (Para 1, 2 and 3) are favourable …

Dear D'Natalie, D'Natalie Smith wrote: Can someone explain to me how is it that someone with a strong metal element would need to use fire as a booster when I read that it should be earth? A strong Metal means that you are strong due to too much Earth and Metal. Therefore in general Earth and Metal are considered unfavourable. Water is the best solution to help Strong Metal given that is exhaust the excess Metal. Fire is also good because Fire destroy Metal. However, Fire is more a double edged sword as it also strengthen the Earth. Therefore, I mentioned that Water is most effective. Wood is simply wealth to Strong Metal. Therefore, in general Water, Wood, Fire are ge…

Hi Mr. Cecil, My question is concerning Birth Elements and how it plays in Personal/Business Relationships. I am a Strong Yin Earth Tiger who recently started my own business last october 08. I have a business partner who is my sister and she is a Strong Yang Wood Monkey. Business has been slow and has not picked up yet. Reason I ask this was I came across a friend and discussing Feng Shui and she asked about our Birth Signs/Elements. Being a Tiger and Monkey don't match. As far as our relationship as siblings we are very close and have a great relationship. But is it true that our Birth Elements could be contra to our luck being around each other? I hope you have an an…

Dear Christina, Thanks for the detailed information. If you have contacted a doctor and most likely he/she has confirmed that everything seems OK, if properly applied Feng Shui can help. Especially using the Flying Star Feng Shui to look at the overall situation. Other disciples includes analysing you and your husband's Pillars of destiny to improve on the " Heaven Luck ". Currently, the Horse Year is not favourable in particular especially to the Rat person. Who is born in the years - 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984 and 1996. In the Chinese animal signs "zodiac" from the attached picture, it is interesting to note that the animal opposite each other has the `greatest' …

The reason because the month pillar is ultimately what defines a person's luck flow and the day is what determine w…
