Dear Master Cecil I need some help in the fengshui layout of my house. As I'm new in fengshui. How do I place my compass to find which direction of my house in NSEW? Whose date of birth should I consider? The room layout do I stand at the entrance of the room door to find which direction of NSEW of the room to place my bed. I'm confuse of the compass reading and need 'master' advise (please see the layout plan as attached). Thank you in advance. Regards Sophia

Dear Anon, 1. Some FS practitioners consider it not as auspicious to have the kitchen next to the main entrance. But this is quite common in many new apartments and should not pose any problems especially if the stove position is located properly. The stove (or if it has side knobs) should normally face inwards. 2. For the toilet next to the main door, this is best avoided if one can. There is nothing much one can do here other than to keep the toilet airy and bright and close the door when not in use. Warmest Regards, Cecil

You wrote: "May I please have your opinion about this house floor plan? Is it good place to live? If changes can be made, what would you change? Thank you very much in advance." My comments are as follows:- 1.1 You asked "Is it good place to live?" 1.2 Frankly, just attach a layout plan and without even considering the external shapes and forms: External enviornment; Site and building; together; how can one give such an opinion? 1.3. Any opinion can only be given on based on GENERAL information of roughly the layout plan - that's all. 1.4. For example, the Compass School of Feng Shui also needs to be taken into consideration. 1.5. It starts from even as "lo…

I am a beginner learner of feng shui. I am a little confused about how the different elements of feng shui or chinese astrology interact. I was born on 5th october, 1976at 10-20 pm in India. My kua numberis 9 and i think that makes me an east group person.I am also a fire dragon born in the pig hour , tiger day etc.My ba zi true element is strong metal. I think metal is associated with the west direction. In such an event, which direction should i put my head to sleep? Also by doing a flying star feng shui myself for my home, it seems that the south east corner of myhome is bad and same goes for the north sector of the house. But by my kua number, these directions are spe…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I had generated the 8 house report for both myself and my husband based on our date of birth. From the report I realised my husband and I have totally opposite directions. What is good for me is bad for him. E.g. my East is prosperity but his East is irritation. Anonymous wrote: In this situation, what can we do? Whose 8 house report should we follow? This is actually a very commonly asked question. Often in a household, the husband is usually considered the breadwinner as he provides for the entire family. Or the one earning most to sustain the family. So you need to first determine whether it is you or your husband. Very likely it woul…

Hi Anon, For Eight House, this kind of opposite situations are quite common. Here is where you must apply the give and take approach. For example, the house should best fit the breadwinner earning most for the entire family. While the bedrooms should be suitable to other family members that will be staying there. So for example, if the breadwinner gets a Prosperity facing, even if he gets a lesser suitable bedroom ie spook / irritation, this should be fine. The breadwinner should then give the spouse a better room ie Health. That means that even if the spouse isn't that suitable to the house, she will draw luck from the more suitable bedroom. Other areas, you mu…

My sincere apologies; I did open your message; closed it; open it; closed it several times; even the earlier posting.. Is it correct placement, in view of the fact that when some person enters the house, the side portion of aquarium may be visible to him? Frankly, none of the tools are used e.g. plotting the Flying Star etc... and to say whether it isa correct placement or not is like the old cases where one did not even do a "Feng Shui Triage"... sort of thing.... If the answer of point no. 1 is no, then -What if we position the aquarium in a way that person entering the house cannot see the aquarium while entering through the main door by covering the sidewal…

Challenge 1: Yes, there are currently ready made altars that has both a roof and side panels and sufficient depth to shield the altar from the winds. Challenge 3: In addition, such an altar already has space built in below it for an "Earth god" Alternatively, one can get a carpenter to built a custom altar with the specific dimensions:- Standard height for any altar: 125cm to 128cm. If a piece of glass is to be placed on the altar, then go for 125cm. Width depends on your needs: 18cm to 23cm or 40cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm Length: 41cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm or 71cm or 89cm or 107cm or 148cm Challenge 2: Since, the entire wall at location marked B is pretty long,…

These are some considerations:- 1. In general, often; the consensus of many geomancers is that id there is a DOUBLE #8's in say Period 8; one should not consider MS8 as standalone. 1.1. Many geomancers would often offer or recommend a "water position" for say a Double #8 sector in Period 8; a Double #9 sector in Period 9 etc... 1.2. Thus when the Double #8's meet; one should not think or pull out the roots of one's hair as to : if I use "water" to activate the Water star #8; what about the mountain stair #8 then? 1.3. A well balanced water position consists of all five elements: e.g. Metal (round); earth usually rectangular or granite or marble stones for the fountain; w…

I will only clarify a few points. As this is not what the purpose of the forum is about. 1. For a Strong wood person, the existing green logo on it's own is considered not suitable for a Strong Wood person. 2. However, a squarish logo represents Earth element. And under the Productive Cycle of the Five Elements concept: Earth supports or help Metal (in particular weak metal grow) 3. In addition, for a Strong Wood person, I don't see what's wrong with using a squarish logo. As Square logo represents Earth. And imagine a strong tree with strong roots; which digs into the earth to get nurishment. 4. Orange under Chinese culture belongs to the metal element. As the phonet…

Dear Master Lee, Thank you for your well thought analysis and explanation and brings me to another layer of enlightenment about the Water Classics consideration. Below are a few points that i would like to seek Master's further clarification. 1. To be specific, the distance 60m mentioned earlier is roughly the distance between the exit of the inner road to the main road and the rear of the house. If it were to measure from the nearer side of the main road to the rear of the house, it is approx. 30m. That means to say the width of the main road is roughly 30m and the width of the landscaping area and the canal together is approx. another 30m. So under this condition,…

Dear Shaqeel, If i am not mistaken what you trying to understand is about your house's Sitting and Facing position. Since you are born a kua no 9(Li)person, the most suitable house is Sitting East Facing West ,Sitting South East Facing North West ,Sitting North Facing South and Sitting South Facing North. (this could also be a reason why your West facing house is good for you) To get a more clearer feng shui analysis in your house, you will have to get a flying star chart for it. Just my opinion. Dear Anon, 1. For a matter of interest, if you visit www.lovesigns.net; you can see a pictural chart of the 12 animal signs. 2. Do look closely the animal sign that is opposite your animal sign. For each animal, the animal sign directly opposite your sign. 3. For example for an OX, the most incompatible animal sign is the RAM. 4. Under www.lovesigns.net; it is based on just the Year of birth. 5. Ba Zi Feng Shui or Pillars of Destiny i.e. Year, Month, Day and time looks far more closely on the interactions; combinations, triple combinations and clashes to provide a detail analysis as opposed to a simplistic model as in the Year of birth " Chinese horoscope " under www.lov…
