Dear Emily, In this case, since you had purchased our paid, please e-mail us your layout at support@geomancy.net or fax it to us at 6482-0570 with North-South direction and we will help you obtain the correct direction. As we will need to look at the layout plan before we can determine which would be the ideal facing of the house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 30 Jan 1968 to 16 Feb 1969 = Earth Monkey 17 Feb 1969 to 5 Feb 1970 = Earth Rooster Here you will find that your sister is `still' considered an Earth Monkey. In 1969 Chinese New Year falls on 17 Feb 1969 and only on or after this date is your sister considered a Rooster. In my opinion, one has to be `cautious when reading books that merely list only the Year and makes no reference to the start and end date. You can visit: www.lovesigns.net at:- http://www.geomancy.net/love/a60-80.htm The above site lists the Chinese New Year dates correctly. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Santanu, Please see below:- Currently, even with the Chinese 7th month, I am currently very busy with continously never ending stream of audits and may take sometime to reply to all the questions posted here. I am Santanu Biswas - My date of birth: The most practical approach in applying Feng Shui is via "priorities". Here, we should be aware of what are CRITICAL and what are NICE-TO-HAVE situations: Critical issues: 1. Shapes and Forms of the room 1.1 Often, our placement of beds and furniture e.g. work/study table has much to do with the layout of a bedroom: where is the bedroom door, what shape does the bedroom take? where is the toilet, toilet door; w…

Dear Anon, Thank you for bring up an interesting question. A career related to fire element is always considered as your wealth element. Here, there is a distinction between whether you are weak or not. Even if you are weak, your career with wealth is still the Fire element. If you are in a career related with Fire, for a weak water person, you need to strengthen your weak water with metal element to benefit from such a career. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tervino, It boils down to time factor:- 1. If one analyses the Eight House Theory carefully, it only considers the YEAR of birth. 2. Thus the Kua numbers under the Eight House Theory takes into consideration house directions based on YEAR of birth. 3. Pillars of Destiny, uses the YEAR, MONTH, DAY and TIME of birth. More advanced Pillars of Destiny considers two more pillars : Pillars of Life and Conception. Here, the final result or one's final element is considered `more' accurate than the one based on Kua numbers under the Eight House. Thus, in reality, one's Pillars of Destiny's element is theoritically more accurate because of this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In my opinion, based on eye-ball method, the toilet is not a the centrepoint of the apartment. 2. If the main door is closed most of the time, (yes) it looks like this is not the mouth of the apartment. (Most probably it is as you had mentioned "NW"). 3. All streetdirectories even electronic ones such as from http://onemap.sg has the North marking stated on the bottom left frame or rather 0 degrees is alaways on the top. If one ones one's apartment in relation to the block plan, one can easily accurately determine the exact compass bearing with a protractor.

Thank you SO much Master Lee. This has been a very confusing area for me during the 3 years I have studied tradtional Chinese feng shui. No one, until you, has explained the process of choosing a remedy (first Productive then Destructive). It is such a simple and basic point, yet if a student is not aware of it, it becomes quite a large issue. Once again THANK YOU!! Best Wishes, Oliv Sullivan

Dear Sharon, 1. It is best not to sleep with the feet towards the door. As under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, having one's feet facing the bedroom door is symbolic of the `coffin' position. 2. I can quite understand that perhaps, some western Feng Shui practitioners may `pooh pooh' the Ba Gua mirror. As this is not ingrained in the Western culture. But in the East, the Ba Gua mirror is commonly used. 3. However, in Traditional Feng Shui: I am not talking only about this site but; many (many) Traditional Feng Shui Schools especially those practising some form of Xuan Kong or Flying Star Feng Shui would look at the use of e.g. 6 rod wind chimes. 4. In my opinion, for financ…

Hi Anon, Unfortunately, it is going to be difficult for end users to be able to tell what is really right or wrong. This is not the only theory that I have seen which is different ways to apply, even other concepts like flying star, eight house, ba zi also have lots of variation. The best advise I can give you is, for the internet, it is easy for anyone to write an article on Feng Shui, more importantly, you should always check up on who wrote the article and how much experience they have on the matter. I mean no point taking advise from an article written by someone who just got interest in the subject and thus written the article as they will probably not be able to f…

Dear Niteka, Currently, to the best of my knowledge, the two main holistic method of Feng Shui are: 1. Traditional School of Feng Shui originated from China. Here, the Shapes and Form and Compass Schools: Eight House and Flying Star. 2. Nine Star Ki. Which is a variant of the Compass School of Feng Shui more popularly adopted in Japan and applied by UK practitioners such as Jon Sandifier. 3. Although Nine Star Ki is one and the same as e.g. Flying Star, it is on its own a holistic approach. Where it can be used to analyse person to a home. 4. However, because Nine Star Ki uses its own methodogy and `packaged' method of finding out things, it is difficult to mix and match …

Dear Hoa Luong, The report you generated is for the 20 year Flying Star for period 7. However, the Year 2003 report is based on this year, thus the difference. One should look at the 20 year Flying Star numbers first and relate it to (any additional adverse stars of the Year 2003) which may make the sector worse-off. For example, for a South-West house at 240 degrees, the 20 year Flying Star for Period 7 are as follows:- #3 mountain #2 water with base #5 and Year 4 while for North is #5 mountain with #9 water and base #3. And Year 2. In such a situation, for such a house; Year 2 flew into the North and made the sector worse-off! This is how, we relate the Year i.e. 2003…

Dear Hoa Luong, Please note that Chinese Astrology books usually provide you the element based on Year of birth. For example, if a child is due or born on or after 12 February 2002; i.e. if the child is born on 13 March 2002; then he/she is considered as born under the Year of the FIRE Horse. Pillars of Destiny not only consider just the YEAR of birth. A simple Pillars of Destiny chart also consider a person's MONTH, DAY & TIME of Birth. Here, for example, the month could be water element; Day - wood element etc... and If one understands carefully each `pillar' i.e. Year, Month, Day and Time of birth has what is known as heavenly stem and earthly branch. And as …

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I just bought a used car since the price and mileageare too good. The color is silver. When the car is in the sun or in the presence of light,it shows a very, verylightgrey metallic. When the car is in the shade, it looks like agrey metallic. Is this car considered metal or waterelement? It would still be considered Metal element. Water is considered as Gray but often of a much darker tone. The greay metallic under the shade still does not qualify as a Water element. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

1. Since this is a home office, you can treat the home office sector within the home's Flying Star Chart - especially since it is not a large area. 2. Thus, you can super-impose the Flying Star (pie chart or 9 grid) and determine the sector star influences within that sector based on the actual home's facing direction. 3. You can also apply the Eight House concept to see if you are able to sit facing a good direction especially: "Prosperity" and/or "Excellent" sector. Dear Susan, 1. It depends. 2. For example, for Geomancy.net and all it's resources: from day one, we have considered, the lay-person applying Feng Shui. 3. Therefore, all our resources, reports etc... are focused on the ordinary compass (North) direction, first basis. 4. Thus, our all Compass School charts, and examples are converted to the North to South. (instead of South, top). 5. This is to cater for a truly International audience, with the same level of uniformity. 6. Other Sites: 7. You have to be careful, and read between the lines or fine-print on the layout and orientation of their charts. (This is because, some sites wants users to use a Luopan or Chinese compas…

Dear Wasis, Often, replacing the roof tile (some) and cleaning the roof with change of the main door, should do it. Locally, in Singapore, we have a common term: "To be Kiasee"or literally translated from Hokkien term: " scared to die" and this means, it is no harm doing all three to make sure that it is nearly "full-proof" (fool-proof*) Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am a beginner and would appreciate some clarification. We have recently purchased a double-wide manufactured home. It faces the SE. The outside door comes in from the E into the dining area. Directly across from this door is a sliding glass patio door. It is located in the S,(living room) but goes to a screened porch. The porch entry door faces the SE. Please help me determine which door is the proper door to use. Thank you Marie

Dear Carrie, I can understand your confusion. 1. `Text book' answer to the main entrance door is one where the house number is. 2. In real life, the door you used most is considered the actual main entrance door of your house (with or without the house number on it). In my opinion, we should `stick' with the second interpretation. If you have seen movies or shows of old houses in China, their main door is larger than any other doors and is prominently located at the frontage of the house. Nowadays, most houses in the west have a main entrance and a door in the garage. Some users here have taken `advantage' of this by doing a Feng Shui analysis of the two directions to det…

Dear Mariel, Yes, it would be best to try to revert to what it was like previously prior to the advise provided by the geomancer, first and monitor the situation. I am not sure what discipline the geomancer has but if his thoughts are merely based on his `intution' alone without reference to e.g. Compass School techniques or if it more from the angle of `sales' e.g. sale of windchimes etc.. where you need to place one or several such `objects', then it would not be appropriate. Warmest Regards, Cecil
